Azteca Latin Lounge in Kensington and Chelsea

Amazing food, atmosphere and drinks in a beautiful little quirky bar. Booking is a must. The website doesn’t do this place justice. You can get a good cocktail and sharing platters are good value for money considering your on Kings Rd. my only notable annoyance was the website not showing a full example menu and we spent less as wasn’t aware they have a bigger menu than the website demonstrates.

You first have to make it by Cerberus in the front door who will make you wait a long time standing outside on the cold on the pavement of a busy street (King’s Road). Our group was seated in the basement, a small crowded space with ultra-low ceiling, narrow tables and stools. Deafening music to the point of headaches. The promised dancing area and mariachis were nowhere to be seen. This restaurant seems to allow vaping, which is actually illegal in UK restaurants, so you also have to breathe polluted air throughout dinner. The drinks were OK (no mojitos though), but the food was pretty bad… Overall a disappointing experience we’re unlikely to repeat..

My daughter celebrated her birthday here with a group of friends and the food and drinks were perfect - authentic and flavoursome. Plus the service could not have been more personal and engaging! Would highly recommend!

We all love Mexican cuisine and Azteca exceeded all of our expectations. Cocktails, tortillas and sombrero’s together with great service. Would defiantly eat where again.

Nice authentic looking interior and friendly welcome. From the typical but somewhat limited menu we chose the classics of nachos and chicken fajita. Starter and main arrived at pretty much the same time and we could have cooked better food ourselves. The fajita was bland and the nachos lacked topping. Just two small wraps each left us hungry. Ok for Chelsea I guess but £50 seemed a lot for this basic meal with a glass of wine each.

Order food, the only good thing was the margarita. I’m sorry but the food is awful and bland. Definitely not Mexican nor TexMex, food is pretty lousy. Would not recommend it

Amazing, went here on Saturday with 3 girlfriends, such a buzzing atmosphere, brilliant food and fantastic staff! We had the chicken fajitas, beef tacos and tacos al pastor to share and couldn’t fault it. The food it was delicious! We were served by Lizzie who was super friendly and really helpful explaining the menu. I would highly recommend going here if you want a fun night out with god drinks and great food. Will definitely go again.

Took four of my friends to Azteca after hearing great things from my partner. I was not disappointed, the drinks were some of the best I’ve had in London, and if you love Mexican food you are in for a real treat! We will all certainly be back soon and I would highly recommend Azteca for a date night or a catch up with friends, as it’s a lively atmosphere that many venues will struggle to replicate.

We had the best time for a small birthday. The palomas are incredible and so is the customer service. Ask Alejandro for anything you need. Highly recommend !!!

Came here on sat 5 Sept with a friend the food and cocktails are very nice however if social distancing is important to you then this isnt the place to come at the moment. On entry we had to sign in on paper with our details We had a few cocktails, the nacho and chicken enchiladas both very nice However the restaurant is quite small and this is a problem given the current circumstances. None of the waiters/waitresses were wearing masks. No temperate checks Tables were all very close together (Not spaced out) the waiters/customers had to squeeze through each time they past our table and vice versa the same went for us too, which is a great cause for concern and a health risk. Wifi is available however the coverage is non existent, perhaps because we were sitting downstairs I would wait for the pandemic to be over before visiting this place.

Good vibe, decent choice of beers, cocktails and snacks. Service can be pretty slow when busy and everyone ordering the cocktails but got to live with that!

Visited with friends early evening for cocktails before eating elsewhere. Great cocktails, service fab, food smelt amazing but sadly moved on. Very small but adds to atmosphere. Did book a table as there were 6 of us and glad we did. Well worth a visit.

We wanted somewhere to eat quickly before an event we were going to. We stumbled across Azteca by accident and were very pleased. The setting is authentic and the food was delicious. The service was fantastic and very welcoming. The food was just the right amount to satisfy hunger but not leave us disgustingly full. Will certainly be back on our next visit to the capital!

We’d booked Azteca a bit last minute for a hen party as I’m not familiar with the area but it seemed like a nice spot to head to in between places that we’d booked. I’m so happy that we ended up in here! A nice buzz in the bar, good music and lively but not too loud. There was a great selection of cocktails and the nachos were really good. Really loved the decor in here too, it was comfortable with lots of cool things to look at! Grateful to the staff for letting us wear the sombreros for a laugh, and for being so accommodating to us! We had a lovely time and everyone who joined us on the hen said what a great find this place was. Definitely will be back again!

Recently paid a visit during a trip to London. Lovely authentic food and drinks. First class service from friendly helpful and efficient staff. Fabulous atmosphere. Very reasonably priced to top it all. Will return next time that I am in the area.

Fuimos para la cena y la hora feliz: estuvimos allí 45 minutos antes de que alguien nos hiciera un pedido de comida y tuvimos que llamar su atención. Esto fijó el listón para nuestro servicio por la noche. . . incluso cuando pedimos la factura tardamos unos 15 minutos. No debería tener que avisar a un camarero (o intentar y ser ignorado deliberadamente durante unos 5 minutos) en cualquier momento que desee algo, incluso un vaso de agua (que fui al bar al final para pedir, ya que nadie acudiría al bar mesa)El personal debe prestar más atención porque si se basara solo en alimentos, ¡esta revisión sería mucho mejor!

Myself and 5 other women visited this venue as part of our hen do celebrations and loved it. Our host, Michael, was charming and more than accommodating. We practically had the downstairs to ourselves and were allowed to choose our own playlist. We order the BEST nachos I've had in my life and had such a lovely time. Its a really characterful venue and an absolute gem. I will definitely be coming back!

Great enchiladas and beautiful cocktails. We had Strawberry Sensations and Pornstar Martinis - both tasted great and were presented well. The service was friendly and efficient. They've created a pleasant ambience here with lots of interesting furnishings and decorations, and it's a nice antidote to the usual pomp and ceremony of The King's Road. Recommended for an easy-going, relaxed evening.

I came for some drinks with friends after visiting Big Easy, we had such a lovely time! The staff are friendly, cocktails and margaritas are amazing! Definitely recommend this as a cool hang out place! Thank you Azteca, I will be back

Bebidas por la noche para dos personas: ambiente compacto e íntimo, pero no exagerado ni demasiado atestado en cuanto a mesas. Excelente decoración e iluminación tenue, ideal para una cita o una bebida con amigos. El personal es muy amable y servicial, tanto al reservar una mesa (no siempre es necesario) como al servicio general. Bares informados que hicieron y recomendaron excelentes cócteles. Me alojé alrededor de 2. 5 horas y el tiempo pasó volando. Recomiendo este lugar y una buena ubicación en King's Road.

Bueno, Azteca no es exactamente un restaurante (debido al menú limitado), sino un lugar donde puedes ir, comer algo pequeño y disfrutar de buenas bebidas. O un lugar donde puedes ir solo por las bebidas.

Went on a Friday night with friends for some margaritas and nachos with guacamole. The margaritas were great, atmosphere very very fun and the guacamole was so good! I had loads of fun as music was also very cool.

Not a lot of options if you're veg or have gluten issues, but if you don't, there are about a dozen items on the menu. The chicken enchiladas were good as was the accompanying beans and rice (from California, so I approve of what I had). My daughter had the pomegranate salad which was festive and lovely with an entire avocado on top. I'd like more options or more customization.

Ordered the chicken fajitas for delivery - the dish bore no resemblance to the photograph. There were no peppers, onions or sour cream, Just a folded tortilla, stuffed with a miserable amount of shredded chicken (it was described as being a chicken breast) in a sauce, which was tasty, if miserly. This was accompanied by a spoonful of good guacamole and 6 corn chips, plus a two or three tiny pieces of chopped tomato and a (very) few baby spinach leaves. All for the princely sum of £13.50. In terms of value for money, it was a disgrace.

The place is nice and the margaritas are good. The food is average and they don't have many options.

Decent service, very friendly staff if you’re a cute girl, not otherwise. Food is very average, has potential as the location and ambience is good, but the food ain’t Mexican.

Great new menu at one of our favourite restaurants in Chelsea. As Americans we find it difficult to find good Mexican in London and are never disappointed at Azteca. We come here at least once a month for our margarita and nacho fix. Happy hour was great with the lychee margarita a new favourite and the staff, especially our server Jamie, were great. As always a five star experience!

I bought a drink and took a seat at an empty table. After 10 minutes, a group of 3 new customers arrived at the bar, and the bar tender/glass collector came over to me and told me to move to another table. I did so.

Soy un regular a Azteca, fuimos allí el sábado, me decepcionó bastante ya que el menú ha cambiado. Mi favorito era el queso de nachos con puré de frijoles con queso fundido n gambas quesadilla n por supuesto la margarita. A veces conduciría de surrey sólo para estas n ahora vivo localmente, no estoy seguro de si volveré a comer allí, incluso la margarita sabía diferente, suele ser un poco más fuerte comparada con la que tuve el sábado. Azteca era uno de los pocos lugares novia mexicana en Londres que no nachos n granos de puré, el verdadero nachos con toda la judías era insípida, parece que ha sido cocido con queso encima. Yo siempre orden extra de los granos. Aaaaar tan decepcionado. Por favor traiga el menú de viejos.

Llegamos tarde el sábado por la noche recientemente y el personal no podría haber sido más atento a nosotros montaje en esta época. El servicio era impecable y el Jaime en general el ambiente era agradable y cordial. Nosotros somos visitantes habituales, pero se esa noche y somos fanáticos firme. La comida era excelente y rápida y eficientemente sirve. Una joya a lo largo de Kings Road.

Went it to have a drink and staff were rude. Head to the bar over the road. Much nicer staff and better cocktails.

Got there at 7:45, informed table needed at 8, fair enough. Mates wife said “ happy to give up chair when they get here” told “it’s not your chair to give up”. Table of 8, 3 turned up, made to feel unwelcome - left. Much better cocktails over the road, don’t bother.

The deco is nice the place is cozy but... The guacamole was bland, the nachos were okay but tortilla chips for both are a bit oily although this which I prefer. The margaritas were nice because we asked for skinny but we were contemplating whether there was any alcohol in it because it hardly tasted of tequila (were there during happy hour). Basically the place is cute but need to perfect its food.

First of all a big thank you to Charlotte for being so helpful and attentive throughout the evening. We went tonight and had a wonderful time. The food was superb, great atmosphere and lovely cocktails. Will be visiting again! X

This place is amazing. Luigi makes the most gorgeous cocktails and the guacamole and handmade tortillas are incredible. You need to try the special tequila shot - it is quite possibly the best thing ever- a tequila shot followed by a spicy tomato fiesta. You can even wear a Mexican sombrero and a poncho! Jamie is fabulous, so friendly and attentive and even shows you how to wear the sombrero! Your challenge is to learn the words to Despacito...Will definitely return! MONDAY CLUB is the best!

Visited on Friday the 13th with some friends from the Netherlands on their 1st visit to London and we all enjoyed our time here, the waitress Jamie took time to explain to our Dutch friends the menu which really pleased them. Would recommend for anyone looking for Mexican food in the area

I went to Azteca on a Saturday night and despite being busy, both the food and service were great. Jamie, who kindly took our orders, was very dedicated ensuring everything was ok, that the requests wouldn’t take long and that we wouldn’t miss anything. A big thank you to her for that!Both the nachos and margaritas were really good as well, so it’s definitely a place to go back to on a near future.

Smaller than we expected. Funky feel to it. Wines only average but it's a Mexican Restaurant so tequila and cocktails all available. Service good although waitress could learn to smile. Enjoyable overall. Food menu small but ok prices One suggestion: shut the sliding door when people outside smoking ....it pollutes the taste of the food for the people dining inside. Would return - recommended.

Hands down best Mexican in Chelsea area. We come here every weekend and love the fresh guacamole and the burritos are great. Prices are very reasonable for the quality of food you're getting too.

Lovely cocktails individually made( not using premix)and honest Mexican street food. Everybody is friendly and Elvis, the manager is excellent at keeping an eye on everything happening. He is friendly charming and attentive! Maya will serve you the drinks with a smile. I can't recommend it highly enough.

We are holidaying in Mexico in a couple of weeks so decided to go in to get in the spirit. It was a really funky place with cool music. Staff were really friendly and the food menu looked good although we didn't eat.The cocktails were made to order and had a decent amount of alcohol in them. If we are in this part of London again we will be back!
