Azmar Restaurant in City of London, Westminster

Whole family got food poisoning from a takeaway from here in March. We got the mixed grill, soup, and the special. Hard to say which was the cause.

Good food and very reasonably priced. The free bread/soup is also great!

Amazing delicious food. Bang for a buck. The restaurant is quite small and it is crowded most of the time so it feels a bit claustrophobic being there during rush hours. Another problem is that waiting time is a lot. We had to wait about 40 minutes before getting a table.

Love this restaurant, the food is amazing. The portions are amazing. It is such an amazing experience of the Iraqi 🇮🇶 culture. I definitely do recommend that you do go and experience the culture and the taste of Iraq.

The most generous restaurant in London.

Been for Iftar today and I am so glad I have not been here before and I will definitely NOT be returning. This place is grossly overrated. Very very disappointing. The food was well below my expectations. No taste. Only lentil soup was nice. Bread was burnt. Meat too oily. Kebab crumbles as you try to lift it. Staff are rude and basically want you to leave quickly because of a queue of people waiting outside. Not quite sure why people are queuing up for this place- probably because it is cheap price and indeed the poor quality food reflects this price. The toilets (female) are very very DIRTY! The tap is so loose it almost drops off when you open it. I mean the basic thing would be to have a clean toilet! Poor toilet hygiene reflects badly on restaurants. They don’t care about their customers experience they just want a high turnover of customers. And they only take cash!! I wonder why?! Ask yourselves. I will tell all my friends NOT to visit this DIRTY RESTAURANT :)

But honestly, it's a small thing to remember for the amazing food and vibes you get here. Excellent food good portions abit busy but overall worth the wait!

When you visit this place, you feel like you’re unwelcome person her , and you feel like they just wants money from you and get out. Before you sit down, they puts out bread for you, salad ( actually low class salad) , and hummus. How does this happen before the customer sits down? Also While you are eating, they pull the plates in front of you, giving you a signal that you must leave !!! This attitude applies to restaurants that do not respect the customer and do not respect their own self. They should understand and know that the one who is eating is a human being and not an animal. Dirty washroom dirty place.

Very poor and subpar service. The restaurant is so small despite all the money they are making which just comes to show how stingy they are. The waiter was standing by the table the entire time, waiting for us to finish, and then essentially kicked us out of the restaurant just because they had other customers waiting in line. Get another restaurant or pattern up. I’d recommend anyone to go to Damascus Bride, opposite this restaurant or the other Iraqi restaurant right in front of Azmar, instead of getting a third class treatment here.

This place is incredible. Warm hospitality, bread, lentil soup and hummus, then two plates of delicious lamb neck, a mountain of rice and two sauces. Two people ate till we were stuffed, and they only charged £30!!! Unbelievable value

This restaurant is known for its food quality and the level of hospitality presented to its costumers. But the best thing about this restaurant, is its staff. They make sure you do have the best experience. Specially, Fayas Fazial, such attentive waiter, with heart warming attitude to the costumers. I came twice, only for the way he treated us and made sure we had the best of the best time. Definitely recommend! People like Fayas Fazial make this restaurant feel like home!!

It’s very bad service, we turn up with family ok 10 persons they demand to order the food on there on choice( value of money) . It’s totally out of unreasonable way to treat the customers .

My favourite restaurant in London UK. Great Authentic test of famous Iraqi dishes like lamb quizi, biryani rice, grilled almon, okra soup, eggplant soup, shelf salad and starter lentil soup. Great lemon mint squeeze juice, thanks for your service

One of our favourite places to eat. The free starters are amazing and consist of lentil soup, fresh bread, humus and salad. The service is fast and the food is always fresh. We have never had a bad experience in the last 12 or so years of eating at Azmar, but Afnan was exceptional. He was very courteous, attentive, smiley and polite. Can’t wait to go back!

Was great food, good atmosphere and service. I took 1 star from atmosphere as the arab man on the table next to me decided to plant all his rubbish on my table. I put it all back on his table but just the nerve ruined the experience. Need to feed these arrogant arabs outside on the street. They not ready for restaurant life.

Not a place that the casual visitor would find necessary but recommended by someone who knows London a little more than us then this is a really good restaurant. Good service, great food and a nice family ambience when we visited for a Sunday evening meal before catching the train back home. We couldn't book and there was a queue when we visited Sunday early evening but not long before we were seated. The menu is Middle Eastern with various meats and mixed salads plus a never ending supply of Nan type breads - highly recommended.

Went for Family Day out , quick service, friendly staff.

Rude staff!! They push u for ordering and once u finish food they clean the table and then they get u the bill. They told me this is the system. If it was busy I can understand but wasn’t busy when we sat. I’ve been waiting out side in a queue for 40 mins for a table. When we finished our food was no one waiting for a table.

We discovered Azmar restaurant randomly tonight and we gave it a chance. Absolutely delicious, we felt the food was very authentic, flavorful and quite a good amount of food. It stands out amongst the other restaurants in Edgware Road.

Outstanding service and hospitality from this restaurant. I once came for a tea and they literally did not except any payment for it! Very rare to find this type of hospitality in Edgware Road! As for the food and atmosphere its very clean and tasty.

Personally, the best restaurant in London. I have been going there since 2012 and It never fails to amaze me. Great fresh food and a quick and friendly experience. I brought friends and family there and everyone loved it, definitely and place worth visiting.

Rude staff didn't even welcome me with a smile. Treated me is if I was different or alien to them. Did not like the atmosphere they also don't let their customers have tap water.

An outstanding welcome by the Boss and his teams, testifying all the sense of hospitality of his People, Irakians !! We felt part of the family once we walked in the place. And the food is properly delightful, our dinner was like a trip in bagdad ! And watching the cooker preparing his breads and introducing then in the traditional owen is also amazing !! 10 to 10..... I can't find the words to describe Azmar Restaurant. Food is excelente!!! Fresh and delicious. Lentil Soup is super, super delicious, sizes dishes are excelente, okra,aubergines and hummus too. Lamb shank is soft and tender ,super tender. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Prices are reasonable. Highly recommended..

Azmar has been my favourite restaurant in Edgware Road so far, the service is amazing and the food is delicious. I like how hem they serve and deal with their customers. I always invite my friends to Azmar as I know they will not disappoint me. I highly recommend it 🍡🍜🍲🍢

This restaurant was very hospitable and once we sat at the table, the waiter loaded the table with different condiments and nans!.. all were delicious!.. the kabab platters are slightly small as compared to the ones I’ve had before but they were very filling and we were a family of four and ordered 3 platters. Service was very good and overall we had a great experience.

Supremely friendly, helpful and generous staff. We were amazed at the amount of free starters offered, salads, hummus, lentil soup and more bread than you could eat. Prices very reasonable, service was spot on, swift, obliging and friendly. We were a group of ten and were all served at the same time which was great. Very generous servings and overall atmosphere. Be prepared to wait as it does get very busy, and I'm not surpised why! You can a lot more for a lot less for these meals elsewhere but you will certainly not be disappointed dining here.

Great Iraqi kurdish taste with suitable place to dine & fair price

Really great place to come and eat with friends or family. Delicious food, great staff, and quick service. It is very affordable and truly tastes amazing. They give a wide range of starters for free, my favourite being the lentil soup and hummus and also give fresh warm bread.

Being an airline pilot, a lazy cooker, and a big eater, I almost never eat at home but very often in restaurants. This restaurant is one of the most impressive ones I've ever seen. All food is very tasty, the quantities are far more than satisfactory, the service is extremely quick and there is even complimentary food waiting for you. Couldn't ask for anything more. I had no other choice than to leave a large tip.

Azmar is Egware Road’s hidden gem. Cash only, no reservation available, no booze; however, worth coming again and again. I have visited Azmar a couple times with different squads and almost everyone loved their food. Their lamb dishes are very impressive (approved by a mate who has been in Iraq) As dish names are not in English, please find the first few images as my top recommendation. Also their bread and side dishes are nice. Azmar is a place you would like to go with adventurous, open-minded, non-vegetarian friends. In consideration of their dining space , large portion of their food, and the possibility of joining the 20-minute queue during peak time, I believe coming as a group of 3-4 people will be the most ideal.
