Ayr India in South Ayrshire

Absolutely first class, the best Indian I've ever had. The food was hot, tasty and plenty of it...the staff were very friendly, polite and helpful....excellent value for money....would highly recommend 👌 👍 you will not be disappointed 😀

Delicious food relaxed friendly atmosphere

I have been to both of the Ayr India restaurants and really enjoyed my experiences at both locations. The menu has many options for meat eaters and vegetarians alike, the merlot Is very nice and the masala chai tea with condensed milk. we ate lamb karahi, a paneer curry and the cheesy garlic and coriander nan and mushroom rice tonight and it was absolutely beautiful. I haven't visited for almost 5 years prior to tonight and remembered it was nice food ..seems I had forgotten just how nice . Our servers were wonderful too, quick, friendly and chatty..had a lovely evening at the seafront restaurant .

I have been going here with my friends for years and never had a bad experience until now. We all had different chicken dishes and each dish the chicken was hard and I could not eat any of it. The price was also an extra £30 in comparison to our usual bill. We will be finding a different restaurant.

A lovely warm welcome as usual with good prices and generous portions + a digestif on the house at the end to end the meal. I love it here and will be back soon!

Quality and quantity have both deteriorated.Our tikka literally had 3 chicken small cubes only ! We were staring each others faces. And when we tried Karahi, it was half cooked and when I told them, food was taken for 'recooking'. And we it came again, it was all same, but our naans got chilled by that time and had to quit our dinner. Had a terrible experience. Everyone there was least concerned. It was definitely not worth the price.

This place shuts at 10pm, do not trust the opening/ closing times. Came here from a long way, struggled getting up the stairs with my disabled Grandad to be told they do not serve food in the restaurant after 10pm! If you are disabled this is not the place for you. No lift to get up the stairs. Utter joke.

Lovely clean restaurant and staff were good but the food was very poor. We had a balti & bhoona & were unable to eat them they were that hot, asked for yogurt but this didn’t help much so ended up leaving most of the meal. Another lady at a different table had same problem & sent hers back. Told manager & he didn’t seem too bothered. Very expensive as well. Paid our bill & wont be back.

Con artists…will rip you off with the bill…make sure you check and get it itemised BEFORE paying!!! Take pictures of the menu and take pictures of food brought out and ate!! Each family spent £100…4 children….4 children’s meals….and charged for 5! And argued we ordered 5 kids meals….when proven wrong that we had only 4 children with us…then proceeded to say the men must have ate it! We come here every time we visit Ayr and this will be the last time!!!!! Very disappointing! The poor waitresses understood…but not the manager!!!

My first choice for a carry-out in Ayr.

Three visits in five days for wonderful times with our Ayr India Family. Even though we live over 300 miles away we still come and see them as much as possible. Food, service and banter brilliant. Thank you Narinder and all the gang. Love always

Nice Indian food in a great location over looking the water. I do have a soft spot for these 60s type concrete block buildings too!! I had a takeaway and ordered the South Indian garlic chicken tikka, naan bread, pilau rice and mixed tandoori starter. I found it to be very nice. It wasn’t the cheapest take away and probably come to about a fiver more than what I’d usually expect to pay for one person. However it did keep me going for a couple of days having a bit here and there away in the van. The service was friendly ! 🍛 🚐 🌊

Absolutely delicious!! We had butter chicken and bhuna and a massive garlic naan. Everything was finger licking good! Staff very very attentive and polite. Would be my favourite place if I lived around the area. Can definitely recommend.

Wow, what a find! Visting Ayr and spotted this place, thought we would give it a try and we are so impressed. A lovely warm welcome, superb views, ridiculously tastey food and perfect service. Cannot recommend this place more. Staff took the time to help with ordering around our dietary requirements and we felt very well looked after. Please give it a visit next time you are in Ayr, we can't wait to go back.

Went to Ayr India Seafront and was really impressed. Staff were absolutely delightful, food was delicious and quite a lot of it. Service was quick. Prices were reasonable. Will definitely be back. Location over looking the beach was ace!

First class food and service in a wonderful restaurant. We are fairly regular diners here, and it never fails to impress. A lovely experience from start to finish. What more would you want. A lovely beach/ sea view/ sunset across to Arran and treated very well by all the staff

Great location by the water with big windows for a great view. Friendly staff and authentic food. We ate there during the yearly Air Show, soon definitely worth booking for that to watch the planes and eat in comfort.

Ayr India never disappoints. WE came from Canada to visit family and friends and have been to Ayr India 3 times now. Located down at the beach, the view over Arran is spectacular. Food and service is excellent. They actually stayed open for our party on one occasion when we had gone to a show. Then they offered us digestifs on the house. A class act from start to finish. Our friends Mik & Lorraine Shaw go often.

People here only know how to loot others, especially if you’re an Indian. They were overcharging for the stuff I ordered, and Then, when confronted, they started arguing. I wouldn’t recommend it.Rude staff and no basic decency, especially the guy at the bar. Highly disappointed 🙁

The food, customer service and view was great. The only downfall was not receiving an itemised receipt, instead you get a piece of paper with lots of prices on it and the total at the end. I always like to see what I’m paying for. I wish that I can get this the next time I dine at the restaurant.

Have used this restaurant several times. Never again. Asked for the usual LUX Meal Deal Take-out. Everything is clearly laid out what is included in the deal. However on this occasion an additional charge of £1.50 was requested for a rice listed in the deal....

I've walked passed this restaurant for many years, happily distracted by the beautiful view out towards Arran and the dogs on the beach, but I've always had the thought in the back of my head each time I pass by.. Well I'm happy to say I finally went and my overwhelming takeaway is that I simply wish I'd went sooner, food was amazing, starter, mains all delicious and full of flavour, even the pistachio dessert was.. interesting! The house wine wasn't too bad either. Lovely kind and gentle staff make all the difference as well. My partner and I were delighted, and the view was everything I had imagined. There wasn't an option to tip on the machine, but that's ok I'll bring some cash next time.
