Assos Restaurant in Bexley

We attended Assos as a group of 30 people for my 40th birthday. They were extremely accommodating to such a large group and were willing to edit the menu to suit us better . We had some last minute drop outs and they tool this quite well. Luckily our groups made up for it with drink sales. First round of drinks were a little slow and it took a bit of time to get the ball rolling but as soon as it did it was spot on ! The food was good , not exceptional but still better than you would expect given the numbers and provided superb value for money , thus the 5 stars I would definitely recommend to anyone, especially for a group booking

Amazing restaurant, very attentive staff and brilliant food! We booked a table for 6pm on a Friday night and when we arrived, the restaurant was empty so we got very quick service. The staff are really helpful, they advised us on various dishes and answered our questions we had We had the sharing platter each for £35pp which included 3 courses each, starters were pitta and warm bread, with dips including tzakiki, hummus and aubergine dip, mains were chicken&lamb chunks, lamb chops, rice, bulgar and salad, (plenty for 2 people!) Also had a dessert each included and with some drinks, sides and the whole bill was £93 which we thought was very reasonable (£102 with 10% service) All the food was really fresh and served hot, which we don't always get at restaurants now.... Highly recommend and definitely will be returning!

We celebrated our mum/nan/great nan’s 80th birthday having a wonderful lunch. The service was brilliant food amazing and the staff brought out mums cake and everyone sang Happy Birthday. This was so special. Thanks to the staff for being patient with us all .

the restaurant was actually closed but the door was open and the owner/staff let me and my dad make a private booking last minute which was very last minute we use to visit years ago and passed on an off chance and i can’t fault the service enough the staff accommodated our needs and we couldn’t be more greatful food as always was 10/10 will recommend the lamb shank was great thanks again we will be back soon :)

The two of us dined here recently. The quality of the food was 1st class. The steak, chicken and lamb we had was cooked to perfection and was nice and tender. Vegetables were cooked to the way I like them,still a little hard and not mushy. The saute potatoes were delicious. Service was very good, professional and friendly. Nice atmosphere, though resturant wasn't full. We'll definitely be going back.

The hosted a surprise 60th birthday dinner, It was a Great evening with fabulous food, staff were outstanding. Definitely recommend

We dined here for the first time earlier this year with a group and just the three of us returned last evening as we had enjoyed it so much. Made to feel welcome and cannot fault in any way. Staff efficient and helpful, food excellent and all round a very eñjoyable time. Although not local to us it is well worth the journey for us and we will certainly dine there again.

Assos is our local go to restaurant as we can always guarantee a warm welcome and excellent food. The service is first class and friendly.

We visited Assos yesterday and had an excellent time with the family. The service was super , the waiters were fabulous and the food was GREAT . We were treated as VIPs even though we were normal customers . Our children really enjoyed their food. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone as this was our second time visiting and really had a great and excellent experience.

Food good, however we didn’t find the service great. We chose to have the shared platter at £32 each. As a group we decided to not have the dessert so asked for a drink or shot instead. This was dismissed very quickly. We spent nearly £300 and we couldn’t even get a shot instead of a dessert!! Service at times felt rushed/ wanted to get us out of there. Great food though.

Lovely service by a lady didnt get her name ,food spot on , husband said best sea bass he has ever had didnt wait long at all .

Really attentive customer service. Service was so fast within 5 mins of ordering we had our starter. Then main was out within 15 mins! Food was tasty and good value for money. Lovely staff to top it off. Well done!!!

After such a long time! Our 1st meal out in 9 months and we chose Assos. Yes, it felt strange with bare, undressed and socially distanced tables. But the staff were bang on form, and clearly as excited to be up and running again as...

Very disappointing. Found some of the staff a bit unfriendly. Not a great atmosphere apart from the larger groups enjoying birthday celebrations. Average food. It’s not fine cuisine at all. Very basic. Small portions for the money. I had the mixed shish. Three little chunks...

Our first visit since lockdown. Very impressed with the setup with moveable Perspex screens positioned between tables and as it was a warm evening the front doors all open. Orders taken promptly for both drinks and food and allergies noted. Food up to their usual good standard and staff attentive but not intrusive.

This is my first visit since the Covid-19 restrictions were put in place. As you can see from the photo the staff are wearing face coverings and the tables are separated in to cubicles. There were tables of up to 6 but groups of more than 6 are grouped on different, but adjoining tables separated by screens. We were there for Sunday Lunch, one of us decided on the roast lamb dinner which was a large filling portion and plenty of mint sauce for the lamb. The other meal was a sirloin steak and chips with all the usual vegetables. It was so large that I was unable to finish the vegetables.The two desserts were delicious and can recommend the chocolate fudge cake with ice cream.I truly recommend this restaurant for a good value for money meal.

Booked for the Bank holiday Mon, (Daughters 1st Wed Anniversary), and happy to see they had sectioned Off the restaurant really well With Perspex sheeting etc due to Covid. We Have been here twice & SORRY TO SAY THIS but I do feel the Staff come across very Solomon, even unfriendly, They’re not rude as they do not have any chat interaction at all, no warmth- nothing While taking Your orders, or serving the food or when we asked for vinegar & chilli sauce, there wasn’t any ‘nod of the head‘ or any acknowledgement or friendliness at all, which does effect what you feel about The restaurant. Twice items were forgotten to be brought to the table ( which is fine, it does happen ) but when we nicely asked for them, it felt like we had done Something wrong!?It’s sad to say but this effects the tip we leave.MY Lamb Shish was PERFECT, tender cuts of meat Very tasty, My son in law was well pleased with his Steak Meal & my daughter thoroughly enjoyed her meal too ( I think a Iamb & aubergine meal)Sadly my husbands ‘Mixed Grill’ was not as good as when we had visited before. It Looked very basic For a Mixed Grill, 1 little thin lamb chop that was quite fatty, chicken Kebab was dry, even the salad looked down!! SO......Having said all this, We do want to return for a 3rd visit to make up our minds whether it’s a HIT or MISS, ( food wise YES, We like after 2 visits, but atmosphere/service not great, so def in next few weeks we will book a 3rd visit.

Following a recommendation from a good friend of mine I visited Assos for dinner with the family. The waiters greeted us warmly and we were immediately taken to a clean well prepared table.We were given plenty of time to scan through the delicious menu of food and drinks.The waiter's served us warm bread and olives as we decided on what to.We opted to have the mixed grill and lamb beyti as our mains.The meat of the mix grilled was cooked just right and full of flavour.The beyti was prepared neatly and looked amazing. Each piece was just as delicious as the next.I would definitely recommend dinner here be it for a formal or informal occasion!

Came here for my sister birthday. It was a bit noisy because there was a big group of people behind us. But the food and service was as good as usual even though it was very busy. Prices are good for the area. This restaurant is well worth a visit or 10

1st time visit with 2 friends. Took advantage of the Government eat out scheme. Good job we booked as packed ! Tables spread out plus perspex sheets between tables. 2 of us had the mixed shish and our friend had the Assos special. Ordered 3 x haloumi cheeses on the side. Delicious ! 3 big bottles of Peroni (no Efes !?) and some soft drinks after. With the max discount, bill came to appx £20 each. Fantastic ! Will be back soon...

Visited Assos for the first time today with family. Thoroughly enjoyed the food, smiles all around. My meal was tasty and the baklava for dessert was a real treat.

The staff, the restaurant, the food....absolutely brilliant! Well done to the owner for giving us somewhere lovely to visit to eat.

Great meal at a very affordable price. Staff are very friendly too. We had a party of 55, which was catered for VERY well. No complaints and highly recommend the restaurant. Parking can be fun, but you get 4 hours free in Sainsbury's nearby (<5 min walk).

Visited here for a friends birthday won't be going back again. Staff made us not feel welcome more like we was in the way. Ordered our drink not all of them were given to us had to keep asking for the missing ones. We had an 8 o'clock table didnt order till around 9 didnt get our mains till nearly half 10. Food was not very nice when we finally got it. Was not very impressed with this restaurant.

This is our fourth visit to this restaurant. Fantastic food at very reasonable prices, we went for the "assos shared platter" which is more than enough food for two of you. Great service and nice surroundings. Would definitely recommend it

Visited end of January on a Friday night of which on the back of positive reviews from colleagues at work.The restaurant wasn't full but by keeping one half closed it created a good atmosphere.The starters were nice but my main course wasn't the greatest. I had mix shish on top of potato strings with a garlic yogurt. Whilst the meat was cooked nicely the yogurt was especially overpowering and didn't work well with either the meat or potato.The drinks were nice and cocktails were available. The service was also good & very prompt. Reasonably priced as well.I will visit again despite my comments above as the meat was nice but will avoid the yogurt next time.

This restaurant was recommended to us and what a lovely restaurant it is. The food was fantastic, very well presented, Alex our waiter was brilliant, taking the time also to chat and have a laugh, we will definitely be going back, would thoroughly recommend this restaurant.

7 of us arrived ready to celebrate Mum’s 90th birthday, and right from the time we walked in the door the service was exceptional! When staff realised we were there for such a special occasion the stepped things up a notch and I think I can safely say Mum was made to feel very special! Thank you so much, wonderful service, delicious food! We will be back!

16 of us had a meal at Assos for my husbands birthday after being told a party our size could not be catered for by another local venue, what a stroke of good luck.The food, the welcome, staff attitude and value for money were all second to none.They made a special occasion even more special, dealing with special dietary requirements without the slightest problem. Very highly recommended, we will definitely be going here again.

This was a full family Christmas Lunch for 9 adults and a child. We have used this restaurant previously, and have been so impressed with the food and service that we came back again and again.

I've just had a lovely lunch here with a friend, the staff were helpful, polite and the food was great. We both had traditional food that was beautifully presented, hot and delicious. The staff were helpful, attentive and lovely to deal with .. especially Alex who had a great sense of humor. All in all a fab Sunday lunch, i would definitely recommend this restaurant

I usually come often for any celebrations and always look forward to it. This time, I tried something new for a change, instead of my normal starter I got the lentil soup (as part of the Soup of the Day) and I loved it. One of the best that I've had from a restaurant as it was well seasoned.

Met up with some friends to catch up and didn’t expect much of the food as when we arrived the place was heaving. It looked like one of those restaurants that cater for large groups. Noise levels were uncomfortable, but, it was December Christmas parties and celebrations going on so we ordered our food and tried to chat to each other.

Brought a female friend of mine for a Belated birthday meal on a particularly busy Saturday night , after booking a table earlier on in the day , We was greeted and seated immediately and was made to feel extremely welcome.

Our family decided to go to Assos for Sunday Lunch with a child under 1. It is a family restaurant that accepts children and they let him play with one of his toys and even with the menu. They provided a booster chair for him rather than a high chair, which meant he could be part of the group.

Came here one Sunday afternoon for dinner. We booked a table but to my surprise the restaurant wasn’t that busy inside. The restaurant itself is really big with plenty of seating and nicely decorated. The waiters seemed really nice and cheerful, one of them was really funny, he sounded like a Turkish cockney. You could tell the place was family run. The food was really nice with massive portions. I had mussels to start and Adana kofte for mains and both were really nice. We had a nice meal and I would definitely return

Was taken to Assos tonight by my granddaughter and her partner for my birthday. There were 6 of us including my daughter, great daughter and my granddaughter’s friend.

Fresh hot food and a great team working there every time. What more could you ask for? Try it, you won't be disappointed.

Being going to Assos now for over 10 years, only once have I had a bad steak, I complained and got a fantastic response from the waitress, a choice of another steak or anything else on the menu free.

Great atmosphere, attentive staff and having an allergy is no problem at all, the menu clearly lists all allergens and adapting a meal to cater for an allergy was no trouble at all - at last steak with peppercorn steak and a good steak as well. I will definitely return on

We attended here on the 27th September 19. First I’d like to say I love this place. We haven’t been here since the renovations. They have moved the bar area and it looks really classy. In doing so they have made more space for more tables. This has not changed how brilliant the service is. And it was extremely busy on Friday.

We went there as a family of 4 last Friday evening for dinner, have previously been there with a group of 30 ladies - brilliant experience both times.

I went there for a dinner with my girlfriend and we were both pleased after we left.Totally recommended for a relaxing dinner.

For a change we decided to give Asos a try, having never been before we had no expectations, however we were very impressed both with the service and quality of the food. We will definitely go again.

We chose this restaurant based on reviews and did not regret it. To begin with, the inside decor was nice, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The toilets were very clean, music not too loud and above allthe food was delicious. Well worth the 60 odd miles travelled.

Visited yesterday for my wife's birthday meal with my 15 year old daughter. Excellent service, delicious food. Would highly recommend.

The food was as mentioned above - beautiful! We shall be returning because the menu choice was great and we would love to try some more dishes! The staff were absolutely brilliant! They made us feel really taken care of! In addition their light hearted friendly approach was great! Come hungry!

I really enjoyed my evening on the 17th February 2019. The food was lovely and my family also enjoyed. The staff were very friendly and in partular Alex who engaged with everyone and kept on making sure we were alright.

A few weeks ago, decided last minute to have Sunday lunch out and decided to visit Assos as we had had great meals here before. We were warmly welcomed as always. They always take time to make you feel welcome and special. The roast was plentiful, tasty and tender as was the veg and trimmings. Service was excellent. Look forward to returning soon.

Delicious, really enjoyed the food and lovely atmosphere. The A La Carte was extensive and there was an option of a Sunday Roast Menu.

We came for a Family meal here last night for my Father's 70th, my parents having eaten here several times previously during the week and having really enjoyed it. It was very busy as you'd expect for a Saturday night, but not unpleasantly so, however you are really packed in. Really good decor, spotlessly clean....very nicely done.

We have been before so new what to expect and as usual we had a great night, the restaurant was packed as expected on a Saturday night and very loud due to a couple of large groups but apart from that, a very enjoyable evening indeed.

We have been to assos so many times now and we cant fault the food or the staff best restaurant so far we always get served by alex he bends over backwards for you and is so helpful i give the restraunt 5 *** and would highly recommend.

Looking for somewhere to eat I found the Assos restaurant listed on Trip Advisor as being local and highly recommended. We booked table for Saturday night, it was extremely busy and very load, but a great atmosphere. The service was great the staff were very friendly and the food was exquisite... 10 out of 10, highly recommend the Centik Kabab!!!

We visited for my friends 40th birthday on 27 December as part of a large party. I have never felt this uncomfortable in a restaurant. The staff at Assos said that they were unaware of how many children there would be. They were informed that children would be there, but had not asked how many. It’s understandable that there can be mixups like this and really shouldn’t be a big deal, but they repeatedly said how unhappy they were about the kids to a number of people in our party and I’m not really sure what the point being made was or what we were supposed to do about it. The lady waitress eventually informed us that children would be charged at £14 which was half the price of the adults set menu. For this price the kids would get the same starters as the adults and chicken and chips for main course- sounds fine we thought. Our children did not get starters and when we asked for some halloumi for them (which was a starter dish), it did not appear. So we paid £14 for chips, salad, three cubes of chicken shish and a strip of pitta - drinks were extra. The adults meal was also overpriced - having the waiter dish out one ring of calamari each is embarrassing, better to remove it from the set menu. I wanted to share my friends birthday with her so wherever she wanted to hold her celebration I would have gone along. However, I don’t appreciate being ‘told off’ by a restaurant and being made to feel unwelcome - the entire time we were in the restaurant we were stared at, counted numerous times(not sure why but it was unsettling) and made to feel like we were a very big inconvenience. I feel very resentful that I parted with the best part of £150 (once drinks were included) for my family of 5 to eat here.

Family Birthday celebrations with great food and great staff

Although lived in the area all my life for some reason we have never been here before. Well what a mistake I wish we had been here before as it was a great night with quality food and friendly staff.

Went here with the family at the weekend and have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it. The waiter was a good laugh and relaxed and the food was great with good sized portions. Would have been 5 out of 5 if we had been served Olive oil/balsamic vinegar to dip the bread in but it was served dry. We will be back though!

Fantastic service and food that was as fresh and tasty as when holidaying in Greece, highly recommend the meze and mixed grill kebab. Alex and the other staff made us feel extremely welcome and made it a day to remember. Will definitely return again

The evening was ruined by the fact the tables are all long so you can only communicate with the people next to/in front of you, the food WAS cold, the food service WAS slow but unsurprisingly the drinks were continuous, and the attitude of the management was poor. Unfortunately it would appear they cannot accept constructive criticism either, and the old saying of 'the customer is always right' clearly eludes them! However much they wish to apportion the blame of our poor experience on us, 13 people can't be wrong! Needless to say we won't be returning, and by the way, the people from Cambridge were not the late arrivals, we were the first!

Food okay but portions too large. Some items seemed pre cooked and not all food was hot! Staff seemed unable to cope with how busy it was. No one ever cane and asked us how the food was and we needed to ask them to come and remove the dirty dishes. There was a very long wait for food and we needed to ask them to come and take our order. Okay if you have all evening to stay for your meal but unfortunately we needed to go on to somewhere else! We’ve had better service there before but on this occasion it was sub standard to what I would expect!

I’ve been to this restaurant lots of times for all sorts of occasions, this time the food was not as good as it usually is. I had the calamari starter which was over cooked and chewy. Then I had the mixed grill and the lamb shish was very chewy and over cooked. This is usually a really good restaurant but last few times I’ve been it’s not been as good.
