We arrived after 10pm after a day of brass band contesting at the Arts and Leisure Centre. We were welcomed despite the late hour, and enjoyed an excellent meal, really lovely food. There was no pressure to finish and leave. Thank you to everyone for a great evening!

Food was awful. Overcooked chicken with undercooked potatoes n floppy broccoli. Partner had pappardelle which was clumped together,4 thick,stuck together in clumps of thick pasta. All aspects were poorly cooked. Very disappointing and won't be back

Even though I was on my own (away on business), I felt comfortable and was made to feel very welcome. The food was lovely, freshly made, and reasonably priced. Waitress, despite being pretty rushed off her feet, was attentive but not overbearing. All in all, a very pleasant experience.

What a fantastic service! I took 3 kids for a quick dinner as we were in a rush. One of my kids didn't fancy anything as he wanted to eat elsewhere- so staff kept on offering him free ice cream which he said no to. Another thing - gluten free kids size pizza was massive for a kids meal (good thing). They treat children as any other customer - fantastic service once again. Besides we didn't have the table booked and they could still accommodate us on a Friday busy evening. Thank you ☺️

Super tasty food. Fantastic service from start to finish polite and professional little one's food came out at good pace. Loved the bread sticks. Pasta dishes great and a good portion. Will visit again when next in Stevenage before a long train journey.

Was looking forward to visiting Ask as hadn’t been for a while but what a disappointment, the food was bland, but most of all the service was pretty bad , ordered some drinks and when they didn’t come asked about them and the waiter was really rude , safe to say I won’t be coming back !

Usual Ask fare and as usual, rather nice. Friendly helpful hardworking staff, speedy service. Conveniently placed in the Leisure Park. This one is perhaps less "smart" than some (although it's perfectly decent, clean and tidy). Here's a thing though - the noise from the kitchen is LOUD - clatter of plates and clash of metal - how odd.

This has always been my favorite place to eat. I do not go out much but it was my birthday and we met family at ASK last week. The waitress was not only sarcastic but rude as well. Her attitude was really off. The rudest part was the bill she had added over £14.00 for a tip. We have always tipped and with a generous attitude. I refuse to be told what to tip especially with poor service. We asked for this to be removed from the bill which she did. It's sad because we have 3 more birthdays coming up and the plan was to spend them all at ASK, but not now. The food on this occasion has also gone down hill (mine was swimming in oil). I am a saddo and have the same thing everytime I go there so I kind of knew what to expect and I just couldnt eat it. I have never written a bad review but I felt this needed saying. I am so disappointed. I have been told there is another ASK in Letchworth so who knows I may try there.

Excellent chilled atmosphere to study. Excellent coffee too. I asked for a refill of black coffee on the off chance that it was served here. Was told that it wasn't really offered here, however 5 minutes later I was brought a hot, fresh, black coffee on the house. Very kind and courteous staff who prove that this industry is hard work, but being a polite customer goes a long long way. Amazing customer service with a smile. I won't put the name of my server here purely because if they broke company policy by bringing me a free coffee, I don't wish them to suffer for it.

We went on a Friday before local theatre at 5.30. Given that this is a chain restaurant on a leisure park we didnt have mega expectations. Miguel was our waiter. He was excellent. Really helpful, attentive and a really nice guy. The food was good, the service was brilliant. We are actually going to the theatre again this friday and have already booked our table her again

We had the family dinner and the food was served hot and was very delicious. My daughter ordered carbonara n it was mouth watering.

Me and my friend had such a lovely experience here. We were seated very quickly (even without a reservation on such a busy day) and we’re given these adorable little shot glasses with this raspberry lemonade which was beautiful. We had a young waitress by the name of Honey, she was quick, served with a smile and was a delight to have as a waitress. I ordered the spaghetti pomodoro and my friend ordered the Stromboli pizza, my meal was a 10/10 and tasted amazing. We payed our bill and left a tip since we were so happy with the service.

Just returned from my first (and last) meal at this restaurant... no wonder the restaurant chains are in trouble if they are like this. The service for our party was appalling and when we complained we were told they were busy (with half the tables empty!!) We wee sat for over 20 minutes before our drinks order was taken and they then took another 20 minutes... but only after we complained. The food was bland and tasteless and my Jale Chicken Cesar’s salad was barely a starter portion and definitely not an £11.50 main course. Poor service, Poor food, Poor portion size... What a lovely place, being honest wasn't our first choice as we had been to Prezzo but the front of house has a very rude manner about him so we ended up at Ask. Very welcoming, polite and we were served by a very helpful and friendly gentlemen named Miguel. Food was lovely, nice atmosphere, cosy. Will be our go to restaurant now when up that way.

Having been ignored at Prezzo walked round the corner to Ask. Seated and served straight away. Eight of us had a nice meal in pleasant surroundings. Good service and piping hot food. Will certainly re visit.

We went here for lunch at the weekend. Things which weren't great were: the table top was very sticky which was unpleasant and this couldn't be resolved as the lacquer on the table top had melted and was very tacky. One of us had a desert which when it was served had partly melted and it just didn't look good and the deserts came about 15 minutes apart too. The loos were very unpleasant and it appeared that the place was understaffed as plates etc were piling up. The whole experience just lacked any sort of ambiance at all which was a shame, it was very lacklustre. After a while you do get to the point where you can't be bothered to complain about things and you just decide that you won't return as that is much easier to do. On the plus side our waitress was very friendly and and the main course pizzas were very tasty. Ask in Stevenage Old Town is better in every way and a much nicer place to eat.

we didn’t feel welcome when we arrived, multiple staff looked at us in the eyes, but did not greet us or give us one of the multiple tables that were free, made us feel very little and I did NOT like it at ALL, I DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL! Nando’s is better and it’s in the same leisure park.

Went here after work one day. The pizza was at best warm when it arrived, so went cold before I had finished eating. Service was 'disjointed', and it felt like eating in a school canteen.

A prompt waiter who was really polite and didn’t mind having to come back several times as we were not ready to order. When the goats cheese calzone arrived it was cold and the chicken one was burnt black on the underneath and luke warm in the middle- the waiter ( a young man with dark hair) was very apologetic and took them away for replacements however the third meal arrrived hot and was very good! Unfortunately when the replacement arrived bottom half of the chicken calzone was still burnt!

The food was nice, but I would not return because the staff are rude. I said excuse me to two members of staff to ask for the vegan menu and they both looked at me and ignored me. Then one of the waitresses started clearing our plates when 2 out of 4 of us were still eating, which i find so rude. She actually leant over my Mum whilst she was still eating to pick up an empty plate. No excuse me or apology or even asking if we had finished. We were then asked if we wanted the dessert menu whilst one of us was still eating. Manners cost nothing and it definitely puts me off returning. Plenty of other places to eat that serve nice tasting food with good customer service.

It’s with a pleasant surprise that we had the most excellent meal at Ask Italian at the Stevenage leisure park. Our food was beautifully cooked with great service. I had deep fried courgettes to start and the lighter asparagus with pancetta pasta served with their colourful mixed salad. All the food was very good. It really is recommended.

I came here by myself a little while ago as I was waiting to pick up some family members from the train station.

I've been here 3 or 4 times recently with different friends. The food is very nice but the service at this location is inconsistent and often slow. I've had really a friendly reception then followed by a poor service waitress. On my last visit I asked for water and was given very water marked glasses and water marked cutlery. May I suggest checking your salt levels on your dishwasher. I knew the glass was clean but it's off putting and I expect more when eating at Ask as it's not a cheap restaurant. I recommend the chocolate and blood orange tart, it is very nice. I prefer the Ask in the Old Town, better service, better standards and more consistent staff. Overall I would choose the Old Town location over this one.

The best part of this establishment is the Staff and service. The food is very lacklustre - two out of three dishes were luke warm. I order a lamb pizza which is one from their premium range and it was awful. There was a 2" gap all the way round where there was just tomato paste, no filling. In the middle there was a mush of soggy onions and very little lamb. We were sat in a booth near the window and there was a cold draught. I asked for an Americano coffee and it came with hot milk?? In fairness they changed the milk when asked to do so, and I didn't raise any of the above negatives with them as we were on a time limit; I am sure they would have responded well, but really should be getting it right the first time. I never expect much from chains - it is nearly always an over priced average food experience; had we had more time I would have sought out an independent.

Good choice of menu , nice atmosphere, friendly staff . We enjoyed our meal very much lovely waitresses very keen to please . My daughter is Celiac and they really took care in making sure everything she chose was gluten free .

We visited this restaurant after seeing the panto at the Gordon Craig theatre. Despite our very pleasant request for a table for four we received a sullen reply, no smile, no kind words. We were shown to a table and did receive good service subsequently from the waitress assigned to us. The food was acceptable and at the end of the meal we asked for coffee at 21.30 and were told the bar was closed. I agree we were the last customers left, but we had noticed the staff gradually leaving and clearing up some time before. On their website this restaurant clearly states it closes at 22.00. This is no way to treat customers. I shall not be returning.

Fantastic Food a good variety plenty of disabled parking spaces outside, the tables were well spaces apart so you couldn't over hear others conversation, don't know about gluten free though, a good variety for vegetarian choices. Toilets were very clean. Step Free Access for wheelchairs. I recommend the Garlic king Prawns and the Four cheese Pizza which wasn't too large to put you off eating it

We haven’t visited an ask restaurant in some time so for a refreshing change decided to opt for lunch here, it was fairly quiet and seated easily. Staff were all very efficient and friendly, melted my heart when an elderly couple came in the care shown when helping them get seated & explaining the menu to them was so admirable & shows great customer service. Menu options were nice & varied, purple basil pasta was bursting with fresh flavours & beef brisket pasta very hearty too. Enjoyed our visit very much & would not leave as long to revisit this time.

Came for a date night with the wife, table was ready at agreed time, the food was lovely, and service was excellent - friendly and attentive waiter (Peti, according to receipt), food served quickly, and everything was spot on.

My son and I ate here and both enjoyed our Prima Pizzas. - he had Coppa Ham & Egg whilst I had Salami Mist. Both excellent. For dessert, he had Warm Rum Doughnuts but the Rum was cold which detracted from the pleasure as it chilled the doughnuts!

Food was average but the staff were just rude no better word to describe it. Wouldn't come back. And when asking for the meal I got a very very rude response!! Wouldn't even waste your money there are better places.

I needed good pasta the evening before a half marathon. I chose a fettucini bolognaise but it was very disappointing. Really it was just wet mince, with poor seasoning and undercooked onions. It took me back to student days when mince was what we ate all the time because it was cheap. Possibly just a bad choice and other dishes really good. Hope so. Lots of people having a good time.

Had a lovely meal out, date night with hubbie and as always Ask did not disappoint. It was very busy but the wait staff were all over it and we did not feel neglected at all. Would recommend anyone try here for a nice reasonably prices meal.

We went to this place for dinner and ordered an assortment of dishes ranging from Pizzas, Pasta and Lasagnas. The food was tasty and the service was impeccable. The place is located very close to Stevenage railway station.

Visited last night with my girlfriend, not our first visit and not our last. Food was amazing I had a calzone and my girlfriend had a vegan spicy tomato pasta. She couldn’t finish it all but the waiter was more than happy to box it up for us. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend

ASK is always a great meal out - plenty of vegan options and the staff are very friendly. It can be quite loud with kids and families during the day, but what do you expect in a leisure park? We always have a nice meal that's reasonably priced.

My husband and I went here to enjoy some time together and what can I say about 2 members of staff in particular well they were so attentive and helpful both myself and husband had requests that were met without any issues. Amazing food and customer service

We popped in here last week for dinner. The staff were really lovely and polite. The food was delicious as always. And we would definitely visit again.

Wonderful service. Friendly staff. We had a tall, Italian (I think) waiter who was lovely. I sent my carbonara back as it had too much pepper in it and he took it off the bill, which I thought was very kind and thoughtful. Really enjoyed our evening.

I went with a friend after a cinema visit. We both had a ‘light’ pizza. Mine was very light. The base was good. There was no more than a teaspoon of goats cheese sprinkled over it with a bit of tomato and rocket. The accompanying rainbow salad was tired. Very poor value for money and I won’t be revisiting.

A family visit during a trip to Stevenage. Good food and service. I have visited many ASK restaurants but they did a really good job of my gluten free pizza. Although garlic bread was not on the gluten free menu they made some using a gluten free pizza base.

Been here a number of times and the service is always good they take great care and regularly come back to ask if we require anything else, sadly went to Firejacks Stevenage instead today and wished we had gone to Ask

A great place to eat, have a drink & enjoy Italian cuisine. We visit often after a film or a bit of shopping. The staff are very friendly, the service is excellent & the food is always hot & tasty.

I was travelling alone and it’s very uncomfortable eating alone when there are loads of couples and groups sitting around you. A young male waiter (can’t remember his name) was great at making me feel comfortable and getting me in and out quickly. Great, fast service and lovely food.

Has dinner and drinks with a friend in Ask Stevenage Leisure Park (mid-week visit) and it's so lovely in there (I haven't been for a long time and so it wasn't somewhere I considered on my list when looking for a restaurant) - my friend said its loads better than it used to be and she was right.

We have been here several times and this time we went as part of a large group for a birthday meal. Table was ready on arrival, good service from friendly staff. The food was really good quality at reasonable prices. O my negative would be that on hot days the lack of air conditioning meant it was slightly uncomfortable in the restaurant whilst eating but we will definitely be returning and would recommend this restaurant.

A perfect venue for couples, family or friends sharing top quality Italian food. A good range of pasta and pizza dishes. Friendly staff and a pleasant modern but welcoming restaurant.
