1st visit and my husband and I was greatly impressed

Lovely place to sit and relax. Just a pity you didn't have any late nights or even music.

I visited here 2 years ago and was impressed .Now prices are extortionate. A scone at £2.5 is fine,but an extra £1.5 for preserves and clotted cream is not really acceptable!! .Scones were not special . The server was condescending when a request for an extra decaff teabag was made!! She asked if everything was OK whilst we were eating .On my initial order,I requested an extra pot of hot water for a, top up if cools or becomes too strong. However,their teabag produced weak tea,thus reason for request for a 2nd teabag. She refused my simple request . My perception was she thought I wanted a free pot of tea as she kept hinting about my extra pot of hot water !! Also the tea pot came with only hot water and teabag placed on the saucer!!. I have had decaff tea in many cafes and many provide loose tea not one bag unceremoniously placed on saucer !! This incident shall teach me never to go back ! Also to all the servers, please stop asking if meal is OK, if you have no intention of solving a problem .Its all PR but with no depth or sincerity !!

Friendly staff , great food very busy at lunchtime

I was with a 95year old lady who has problems eating meat & heavy foods, we had just missed the breakfast service & there was nothing suitable on the lunch menu so my friend asked could she have an egg & onion sandwich, our server ( who turned out to be the manager) was very obliging & said yes of course we will do that for you, less than 2 minutes later our food was in front of us, great service I thought, but the sandwich was inedible, no butter on the bread, egg cress with half an onion sliced on top of it, really awful, we pointed it out to a waitress, she said they had had the same complaint the day before & she would get the manager, finally the ‘lady’ who had taken our order came to us, she was very condescending & said they had made the sandwich especially for us & that she liked a lot of stringy onion on her sandwich, as for butter, new legislation is they cannot butter bread. Her attitude was awful, no respect for senior citizen at all. I will definitely not be back, total disgrace.

Horrible staff who needs to work on her people skills, Asking questions which were just nosey and unnecessary, telling us while she wears her apron she has to just smile and grin. Have never felt so intimidated while having my breakfast, if that wasn’t bad enough she Hovering around lifting plates without asking was I finished. Trying to clear and wiping table before I was finished. The dirty looks and whispering to other staff members about us. Did not have a pleasant morning here. Catch up with friends turned into a nightmare. The food was lovely but not lovely enough to be abused over your eggs

Horrible experience had by all who dined with us. Couldn't enjoy our very over priced food because of a waitress harassing us, asking questions that were of no concern to her, saying she has to ‘grin and bare it’ with customers making us feel very on edge and intimidated. Whispering and eyeballing us throughout the whole meal. Didn’t want to even serve us or want us to stay on for anything else, snapping menus back and lofting plates we were still eating from. We were discriminated against 100%. And after sharing my experience with others I have found out that this is a regular occurrence in this so called family run business. Absolutely disgusting!!!!

I would thoroughly recommend Ashvale and am a regular customer. However, I am very disappointed that they now charge £1 for a pot of hot water. The waitress herself did not agree with this. Their prices are expensive enough. Therefore I have deducted a star.

Great food and staff are very helpful. Premises whilst modern also look trendy and create a nice atmosphere. It was a nice atmosphere today, and to have the piano playing in the background.

The food was OK. I found the bacon quite dry and the coffee was warm not hot. Didn't feel the quality of the food reflected the price. I also found the staff lacking in personality and quite stuck up to be honest (apart from one guy who was lovely).Everything seemed to be a hassle. I didn't particularly enjoy my visit and don't understand what the hype is about. I don't think I'll be back.

Would not recommend for Allergy sufferers. I’m gluten intolerant and went carefully through the menu with our server however when the food was brought to the table by a different server there was obvious cross contamination of my food from another plate carried on the same tray. I asked for a fresh meal explaining the situation but the server dismissed my concerns and I had to insist. Another meal was brought but before leaving the restaurant with my friends I was in a lot of pain and was very ill the rest of the day. My friends all enjoyed their meals and there was a nice ambiance hence not giving a one star review!

Went to Ashvale on Tuesday evening for Christmas dinner it was fabulous the food the staff the music. I hope you start opening more evenings.

Be patient as it is popular, and you may have to wait for a table at times. But the food and staff are great, nice selection of flavoured coffee, hot or cold. There is plenty of choice of food from snacks to meals.

Love this place. Only slightest fault were the pretty dry scrambled eggs. It seems unfair to deduct one star for something so simple, I just needed a way to point this out. This place is picturesque, staff are wonderful and super efficient. Sausages are wonderful. There genuinely is no better way to start the day. The farm shop has good quality goods, though it's quite small. And soon to come a garden. Centre.

An amazing place for a great breakfast or lunch or just a coffee and a catch up. The staff are amazing, they even let me go up and play their wonderful piano, I cant wait to go back ❤️🙏

Lovely staff - attentive and welcoming. The food was OK. Caesar salad had no dressing and the chicken was tasty but not very hot in terms of temperature. There is a strange policy about ordering hot drinks alongside food - basically you can't in one order even though you are presented with a drinks menu at the table. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Delicious afternoon tea served by Zoe, who was brilliant. Nothing too much bother, food so good. Love this tea room.

Lunchtime can get busy so may need to bring your coat when waiting outside. Food was delicious, I had the sausage roll and it was so tasty I bought a packet home. Staff was attentive and the restaurant beautifully decorated. Shop was a little too small but that's ok they're expanding, can't wait for it to open.

Been here a few times, staff are lovely and food is delicious

horrendous experience, there with 2 children (4 in total). struggling in a queue, which was our own choice to wait in. staff came and seated 2 groups of 2 behind us first, which was absolutely fine. When were eventually seated, and behold the two groups of two were seated at tables for 4. seated at bottom of stairs in conservatory and staff proceeded to serve coffee over the top of a 9 month old in a highchair. my wife who is quite anxious of such things, put her arm over my daughter each time, and low and behold the second time her arm got covered in hot coffee! my mother in law asked to speak to staff afterwards, and addressed the issue of seating and was told couldn't put a highchair in the way of wheelchair paths, ok not sure but ok! and when addressing why staff were serving hot coffee across the top of the 9month, the response was "were don't prepare for spilled coffee" can 100% say i will not be back and will not recommend anyone else does

Having been here before and a lovely experience. To hear how my grandmother and her friends in their 80s were treated yesterday by staff was despicable. After being told they had to go to let the afternoon tea people sit down, wasn’t allowed to keep a glass of water until they were leaving and then a cup full of tea being spilled over my 84 year old granny by the waitress, another waitress told her she should apologise to the other waitress after a comment was misheard. Had my granny said what was accused she still should NOT have been spoken to the way she was. Why this is the case is beyond me- poor customer service and considering Granny was covered from the neck down in tea due to the staff rushing to clear up (evidenced by her clothes she had on and trying to get the stains out of after). The attitude of staff is absolutely stinking and to think it is acceptable to speak to elderly people the way they did is horrendous. I highly doubt had this been myself or an able bodied person the same attitude would have been given. I hope the team at ashvale learn how to speak to paying customers (despite the fact the tea that was paid for she was now wearing- could’ve drank it from her shoe as there was tea in these!) with an element of respect.

I visited Ashvale recently for breakfast. I was not impressed by the experience at all. When seated we waited 5 minutes to be given a menu. Whilst waiting for our food other tables that arrived after us with larger groups of people received their food a good 10 minutes before we received ours. Then we waited 20 minutes after finishing for our plates to be cleared and nobody came so we had to approach a member of staff to ask to pay the bill as we had been forgotten about. On our way out we approached the till by the front door to purchase food to take away. Several members of staff walked by us and looked at us and ignored us. After waiting about 5-10 minutes I asked a member of staff if they would mind serving us and their reply was “can’t you just wait one minute!” as well as pointing a finger up towards me when they said it. I will NOT be back and will be sharing this experience with friends and family. The food was lovely however to be ignored and spoken to like that ruined the whole experience in Ashvale.

Burped the fish sandwich up allay, bread was not fresh clearly made hours earlier and left sitting, should be made to order for that price. Place is to big now unfortunately. Very pricey

A very lack lustre prawn sandwich with made with what looked like hovis. Dry on one side and bitter and tasteless - made with no love. Daughters chick wrap was nice though. Have been before wouldn't rush back

I dont know where to start with this little place as I literally can't fault a single thing, its absolutely STUNNING inside and out, the staff couldn't be more friendly and professional, the food is not only stunning but comes out scarily fast lol AND they have a beautiful farm shop right beside it with the most amazing pies. Like I said I just can't fault it, it's the kind of place you'd be proud to take someone special to you. I will forever be returning to this place.

Called in yesterday (14/06) for brunch. First time calling in, and I was amazing at how busy the place was, always a good sign. Waited to be seated for a few minutes, got a nice seat. Staff were nice and polite. Food ordered was second to none, not a long wait at all either. Will definitely return.

Not child friendly as was told there was no flexibility with the menu as I wanted to order pancakes from the kids menu with maple syrup instead of Nutella. Waitress told me I would have to order from the main / adult menu to get the pancake stack with maple syrup. This was for a 3 and 8 year old.

We were truly impressed by the newly refurbished café / restaurant just a few minutes South of Lisburn! This was my first visit in many years and my - how their renovations and enlarged premises is thriving. We selected a mid-week (Thursday lunchtime) visit at a busy / popular time and while the restaurant was busy, we had to wait mere seconds to be shown to a seat. I lost count how many servers attended our every need (at least 4 / 5) and the food was top class with more in their portion size than could have been expected. While I was too full to even consider desert, my companion went for a slice of cheese cake which looked excellent. Overall - I cannot speak higher of Ashvale tearooms!

Food today was very good however we had long wait for our meals today due to a computer order query. The 5stars are for Dionne. She managed our situation very professionally explained in detail why we waited so long. An excellent member of staff and also a male member of staff who apologised and reordered our food. Well done Dionne you treated us very well

Ashvale are trading on their reputation lately, not their food & service unfortunately. After years of decent reviews, this is a poor review as today was unimpressive from start to finish. Hope they pull it back and start providing the service that earned them their reputation in the first place.

Food excellent unfortunately because of bank holiday the place was very busy. We had to queue to get lunch a worthwhile wait. Can be expensive but recommend.

Superb restaurant and a small farm shop. My wife and I had a gorgeous lunch here, having just missed the breakfast service that ends at 11:30am. We had Soup and a sandwich, and a Korean Chicken dish. The soup was a hearty thick chicken & vegetable broth, just like we would make at home, even with a spud in it. The toasted sandwich was perfect. As for the Korean chicken:- tender chicken with a crispy coating & slightly spicy sauce was absolutely perfect. Very tasty indeed. The slaw was a bit unusual with a curry flavour, but otherwise it was a very well cooked & presented meal. Cost was fair for the big portions that we got.

Love this cozy country side place. The staff are super friendly, something you don't see in France often and I truly appreciate my welcome here. The food is excellent. Scones are the best I've had. Thank you so much.

Wasn’t as good as I remembered. Food still looked good but just missed the mark. I had caramelised banana with pancakes and bacon which was literally a banana cut in two, hardly caramelised at all. Serving staff we experienced were definitely not as friendly as previously encountered.

Came here especially to buy their chicken and ham pie. It's every bit as good as my own homemade one😱😁

Call this morning for breakfast with my friend and neither of us got what we ordered which was terrible. The chef just decided what we should eat regarding what we wanted. The chef needs to read the orders properly. The staff were very nice and tried to help. Waste of a journey and wouldn't rush back.

Food was delicious, seems unfair that toppings for hot chocolate are free but a shot of caramel in my latte is 50p!

Practically no vegetarian choice & no vegan. The only options for lunch, that weren't meat, were, veg soup & goat cheese wrap. I asked if I could have the vegetarian fry, breakfast stop at 11.45. we were there at 12. Answer was "no". I really don't like giving bad reviews, especially to local businesses but no choice is very poor in this day & age.

Ashvale has a nice atmosphere about it which makes it a nice place to sit for lunch. We had to queue to wait for a table as it was rather busy when we arrived which we didn't mind, expecting it must be good if it's this busy. I think the fact that it was busy was the reason for the drop in quality. We waited what felt like hours for our food to be brought to us and when it arrived it was cold. What made this easier to deal with was the politeness of the staff that seemed easy to discuss our problem with. The farm shop seems rather expensive, especially considering the availability of similar products elsewhere. I would consider eating here again as the menu had some really nice items on it however I would be put off if it was busy enough to warrant a queue out the door.

Lovely decor but needs more soft furnishings to dampen the background chat. Food is lovely but pricey. The noise would put me off going back.

Not a good experience at all. Staff were super unhelpful, cannot even make a small change to menu options, all food seemed preprepared. £6.50 for kids pancake with banana and Nutella, we expected at least 2 pancakes for that price but it was one tiny pancake and 1/4 of a banana. Shocking. Totally overpriced.

Place looks great. Service was great. As you can see from the photo I have put up. I paid just under £7.00 for a sandwich that I could have gotten from a local supermarket for half the price. And double in size.

Very disappointed, ordered hot chicken panni, and it arrived after waiting 30 minutes cold and I had to send it back my mum had ordered soup and it was just wamed and no more, but she wouldn't let me send it back.

Beautiful place and atmosphere. Attentive staff. A little pricey for some things but worth it. I got the French toast and husband got a fry. Wish I'd gotten a scone too, they looked amazing! Coffee is lovely and we had our 7 month old with us and we were all made to feel very welcome.

Went back for the first time today after the reopening. The place is lovely as always. Bit disappointed that the breakfast stopped at 11.45 and looks like they are working on a reduced lunch menu. No beef brisket unfortunately. The food was lovely. The queue outside can be long . Hopefully when they are back to full staffing levels the menu will be extended. Always a lovely place to visit.

Friendly staff, beautiful food, welcoming feel. I had mixed seafood salad was lovely had to bring the pecan pie home, it was amazing!

Table sticky!!! Roulade 90% thick cream and under ripe strawberries. Coffee cheap and bitter with tea also not acceptable. Mission statement on the wall unbelievable
