Just sampled the mackerel and samphire pate. I have smoked salmon in the fridge and I’m already plotting a quick trip to stock up on the tarts for a picnic lunch. Delicious. Friendly service too.

Divine smoked fish. A full range of smoked fish to take home for dinner or as ‘takeaway’. We tried the smoked king prawns and they didn’t make it past the first picnic bench; absolutely delicious. The smoked salmon made it home to complement some home baked bread, just perfect.

Delicious smoked salmon, and the Noon pie is seriously dreamy. Hope to come back and try some other things 😀

A gorgeous place right on the beach of Aldeburgh. The fish was absolutely amazing, the cold smoked salmon was delicate and smoky. We also got two fillet of hot smoked salmon that was my favourite and a wholemeal bap with cream cheese and cold smoked salmon to munch on while we headed home. Really good price for the fish and would definitely come back

Wow. A busy Easter weekend and the food here was perfection. The smoked salmon on the cream cheese and smoked salmon roll is so tender and delicious. The smoked prawns were so juicy and tasty. This place deserves a Michelin star if not at least 3. Friendly server too. Recommended.

Really delightful! We had smoked cockles, prawns, salmon and eel. I've never had smoked cockles before, so that was a real treat - it's subtle but it does add something to the flavour. The salmon was spot-on, very nice indeed. The eel, is certainly an acquired taste but not at all unpleasant. The prawns were really good indeed. Whole-heartedly recommend this place, really lovely indeed

Lovely breakfast. Tasty selection of smoked morsels and a fabulous noon pie .

Nice proper smoke house shop. Just a hatch to get served through hut you can have a nice look at the selection. There's a couple of tables to eat at. I have cold smoked crusted salmon in an open brown roll. Seems a bit expensive at first but then you see the thickness of the salmon slices and its fair. Not an overly smoky flavour but lovely texture! Great snack stop for some fresh sea food and hand smoked produce!

This place is so good that today being the last day of our holiday we might go back again. Got the trout tart, mackerel pate and the king prawns. All fabulous, good price and friendly service. Prawns were best I've ever had !!!!!

Both had the smoked salmon and cream cheese rolls and the smoked salmon was delicious - soft, tasty and delicately flavoured. Overall quite rich for such a small looking lunch! Being on the beach really makes it.

Really great fish! I had the smoked salmon sandwich (pictured) and the smoked mackerel fillet. Absolutely delicious. You just need to bring your own cutlery unless you fancy eating smoked fish with your hands.

Stopped here when walking along the seafront in Aldeburgh. A good selection of choices and a decent service too. Would definitely recommend the brown shrimps, together with the crusted smoked salmon on cream cheese open roll. Definitely worth visiting when in Aldeburgh if you love fish.

The mackerel pate might be one of the nicest fish things I've ever had the pleasure of eating. Everything else was great too, though eel less to my taste, but the light smoke they've achieved is phenomenal.

Instantly went back for third tub of smoked prawns with garlic mayo because it’s so so good! Salmon was amazing too with generous amount of cream cheese :) would highly recommend, all quality smoked fish. We even got some hot smoked salmon to bring back to Cambridgeshire as a souvenir, look forward to have it on our salad.

Always go here when I visit Aldeburgh. A perfect place to have lunch if you like smoked fish. You must try their pies too - my favourite is Noon pie. You can sit at one of their bench tables or take your goodies and have a picnic on the beach. Bliss.

Fantastic fish and charming Hungarian lad serving :) We bought noon pies (of course) and kippers. Kippers are very large and gently smoked and juicy. Great value!

Bought the odd bit of fish from here over the years, always delicious. Yesterday, got hot smoked salmon, smoked mackerel, two noom pies, and a trout and spinach pie. All of it was delicious. I eat a fair amount of mackerel, but this piece was the best I've ever had in my life. Flavour was spot on, but it was the tenderness and the moisture of the fish that were so outstanding. Good mouth-feel is what chefs call it I think. I'd have some more if I could today! The Salmon was very good. It was slightly firmer than a piece of poached Salmon, and with a not too strong smoked flavour on top, though if it had been smokier it wouldn't have been ruined. It was really delicious but should have made myself a hollandaise or something to work with it. I'll be getting them both again next time I can. Trout and Spinach pie/tart. I loved this. Mottled green and pink in a pastry dish. they'd got the pastry right too for my money, and warmed in the oven when I got home It was the best tart/flan/pie/quiche type thing I'd ever had. I certainly don't think I've had a better one. if you had this with some buttered jersey royals and a salad you'd be happy paying £15+ in a restaurant without feeling short changed I'd reckon. my son wasn't quite as keen because he'd already tried.. The Noom Pie!! It has a very different character to the trout and spinach pie, the fish is in a cream and shallot sauce in the pastry dish and I loved it too. Rich, creamy, indulgent, yet all around well balanced. I wouldn't eat it every day solely because of the heart attack risk, but my oh my was it good! Very pleased I got two of them cause my son wolfed his down and I will finish with his quote, (and for context, at 9yo we have tried to give him varied and delicious foods from worldwide cuisines), "It's hard to say, but it might be the best thing I've ever eaten"

Found this by chance while walking along the beach. Had a noon pie (haddock and smoked cheddar, mostly) and smoked salmon (both made in-house). Both were amazing - so good that we immediately bought more of each for a picnic the next day.

We drove 100 miles to see this place and not sure if it would be good, but so pleased we did, good service, knowledgeable and excellent quality of food. Smoked on the premises this place has a lot to offer - we had some smoked Trout - king size from Scotland, it was huge! A small business and deserves all the credit for doing this and keeping a Smoke House going let alone beautifully done. We will be back for the full range - plus Noon Tarts, even in the morning! maybe a couple more Kippers too! or more Smoked Cod Roe ( they were huge!) Very impressed.

The usual smoke sea fare. Excellent service, but could of used napkins and cutlery without having to go back and ask for it. There is always a queue, so it is good.

Lovely home smoked fish and shellfish. Wonderful quality. Had smoked prawns and they were amazing as was the smoked haddock. We are just sorry that it's not on our doorstep.

We had a ‘tasting platter’ that was fantastic and a ‘noon tart’ that was simply delicious and with a view of the sea as well.

This is quite simply the best smoked salmon I’ve ever had - and I’ve had QUITE a lot. Tempted to move here so I can have it every day :)

We had smoked salmon on cream cheese and Roquefort and mackerel tartlets. Wonderfully tasty and easy to eat sitting on one of the benches by the cabin. Sensible prices for the quality, very nice chap serving. It was all that we had hoped for and more. Recommended

Biggest choice and great welcome. Delighted to find they sell smoked cods roe - if you've never had it you're missing a treat. Try it thinly sliced on hot buttered toast. Add a fried egg on top for a wonderful snack.

We visited the town for a couple of hours and decided to get some smoked salmon and cream cheese rolls for lunch. Ended up buying a noon tart, a big wedge of smoked salmon and some pate too. Absolutely delicious and will seek them out again when back in Aldeburgh

I loved the simplicity of the place and the excellent smoking. You can get a little snack or enough for lunch or plenty to take home for a meal. They smoke their own and they do it very well. We tried the small mixed box and later took salmon and prawns. They were absolutely superb and great service.

This place is properly good. It deserves 6 stars for the smoked trout and spinach tarts, which are quite literally epic.

There was a good range of fish on offer at reasonable prices. The gentleman behind the counter was friendly and helpful.

The pate here is fantastic, just a shame they dont sell fresh crusty bread to go with it or crackers.

Previously, we would get our seafood fix from a fish stall in Woodbridge (near the Co-Op) but this time round we opted to try out something more local. What a find. Great selection of seafood available. We often brought scallops, shell-on prawns and salmon. All excellent value, delicious and fresh. The staff were all amazing and very knowledgeable and on one occasion; they gave us some additional fresh salmon as a thank you for our order. We went back a few times more and will continue to return to this establishment when we next visit.

I absolutely love seafood and was so happy to spot this fish hut on the sea front. Friendly helpful staff...plenty of choice and extremely delicious- smoked hot salmon, king prawns and of course a pot of cockles!

Went twice in 24 hours. Very friendly, cheerful and helpful staff, and great location, right on the beach. First time ordered 2 of the filo fish and cheese pies and 6 smoked prawns with garlic mayo, and ate them on the beach. Utterly delicious. Went back before we left to get a dozen more prawns to have at home, and noon pie, which I couldn’t recommend more. Brilliant pastry with a beautifully creamy interior.

We are seafood fans and held high hope for this place after viewing reviews. We ordered cold salmon, tuner, eel, sprat, cod roe and whelk. The cold salmon (not the hot salmon) was wonderful and we regretted we have not ordered more. All food were good but to us the smoke food here tends to be too cooked and dry, except for the cold salmon. They were quite salty too, unsure if that's natural or added. We quite like the cod roe but eating with some bread would likely have enhanced the experience whilst bread seemed not available in the shop. There was no sitting provided during our visit, perhaps covid related. Price wise I think it should not be considered a cheap eat comparing to other seafood huts in Suffolk and Norfolk we visited this time.

We have bought a very fine array of smoked fish from here over many years. We have not eaten here as we take our treasure home. Where can you buy real food like this, even smoked eel was available. The people who have run this establishment for ages are knowledgeable and friendly, with easy advice on recipes or food presentation. We hope to return soon, 100% worth full stars.

The fish is local, much of it is smoked and is a gastronomic delight. We ensured we stocked up to bring back with us.

Just before lunchtime today I bought a taster plate to take away with one each of the tartlets - smoked trout and spinach, herring and Roquefort. This evening, with a salad and granary baguette, was an easy and elegant dinner. The taster plate had a little tub of tangy aioli which added a lovely zing. Really nice thank you

Not cheap but reasonably priced for top quality fish. The noon pie was my favourite. My 6 and 2 year old boys loved all the fish from the tasting tray, apart from the sprat. Such a good way of trying a lot of different fish cheaply, especially for kids. I would recommend this place to anyone, whether you’re after a snack for a walk along the beach or a dinner to take home. We even took some home for my parents as a thank you for looking after our dog during our short break. The two different members of staff we encountered were helpful and efficient.

Had a smoked kipper that I took home to cook for my breakfast. Got some great advice and chat from the guy behind the counter. It was delicious. Will definitely get some more.

The cold smoked salmon is just amazing!!!! We are spending a well in Aldeburgh and having read the reviews had to stop off and try it for ourselves. Good job we tried early on in our holiday as we have been a couple of times now and will definitely visit a few more times before heading home.The tarts are nice and the large prawns are delicious and all the fish we have tried so far is great BUT the cold smoked salmon is just wonderful. It appears to be quite oily but it is so soft, buttery, tasty and just yummy. Sorry my mouth is watering just thinking about it. The lovely lady who’s been working so fa every day is very friendly and slices the salmon just right. I did look in one of the other nearby huts, that also sells smoked fish, but didn’t look anywhere near as appealing as this one.

The ASF is always our first stop when visiting this beautiful seaside town. The food is excellent and to die for. Today we ordered various articles including the Noon tart(), then we feasted outside with our bottle of wine (purchased from the cooperative) (we also bought our own glasses and covers).Great friendly family run establishment. Another family favourite . They smoke the fish on site . Once you have tried the smoked salmon from here you will never buy the rubbery stuff from the supermarkets again . Huge variety .
