Ordered a breakfast baguette which contained bacon and sausage. Pre cooked cold deli counter meats, were then placed in a baguette and toasted for a couple of mins. This was then served partly hold and some of the meats still cold.

Two of us popped in for a sit - in sandwich and a coffee. It's been a very long time since I dined this way - it's not my idea of lunch but we were that side of town and, unusually for me, time limited. The coffee was ace good which is what I expect from this brand. I opted for a made - from - scratch egg & onion on Brennan's brown bread. The butter wasn't butter but margarine (muck) served with a smile from a friendly server who could have been from Australasia or South Africa. They didn't have cold water prawns - my favourite if it's a sandwich and with butter only - with proper prawn cocktail sauce which must contain cognac. I also grabbed a bag of Tayto cheese & onion crisps. A little known fact: in 1954, the first flavoured crisps were invented by Joe "Spud" Murphy (owner of the Irish company Tayto) who developed a technique to add cheese and onion seasoning during production. The cafe was comfortable and clean. There was a tv but not much banter from the staff who talked mostly among themselves once you were served. They don't have WiFi either which I found very poor in a busy city centre place located not far from the courts and public sector services. I didn't pay so I've no idea of their prices. So borderline 3 stars.

Goodness me, it’s been a very long time since I stepped foot into Arthur’s. It’s actually moved location by a few blocks within the city centre so I guess it’s over three years since I last visited. What used to bring me in then was their coffee deal, and it was the same deal that brought me back in this time as well, aided too by just pure curiosity: any coffee a quid. £1 up to 11am. Now I already had a great flat white coffee for a quid an hour before at Hotel Chocolat cafe and I was just in time for their deal. So it was another flat white from Arthur and I was buzzing but it Arthur behind the counter? His distinctive gait, his friendly demeanour and his barista skills combined with old memory told me it’s the same bloke as before, he may be Arthur maybe not. Damn fine coffee mind. As I waited for my £1coffee deal Revolut card at the ready I noted a £4 lunch deal including a chicken filled ciabatta sandwich, a soft drink or Americano or tea. Now just like the pre 11am coffee that’s a real deal.

My Mum and I popped in here for lunch today and got exactly what we were looking for. We got soup and sandwich each plus a coffee, cold drink and crisps all for about £12! There is a good choice to decide what to put in your sandwiches and there were 3 separate soups. I had sweet potato and chilli soup while Mum had lentil korma soup both of which were lovely. I’d highly recommend this for anyone looking for a quick good quality small lunch in Belfast City Centre.

We have been in Arthur's quite a few times and really like it. However we went to the newly opened one today and a couple if things annoyed me. The tea is served as a tea bag in a cup which I don't think is particularly good. I went back up for a second cup as I had a sandwich and needed more tea. I asked was it possible to have it in a mug as opposed to the small cup and was told no as it was a bigger vessel. I really don't know why this was a problem as it was only going to be extra water not exactly going to break the bank. I also purchased 2 chocolate tray baked which were warm and melting.

Thought I'd try Arthurs for a change. There was no queue when I arrived which was great. I ordered a white bread sandwich from one guy, there were two people working at the counter. There wasn't a great selection of salads on the counter. The lady asked me what I wanted inside then took me over to pay immediately before my sandwich was even made. I thought this is great - very time efficient. It wasn't. There was no butter on the sandwich. The bread was hard. There was red onion in my sandwich which I did not order. I was charged 4.60 for cheese and salad.

Coffee superb, staff superb, daily special brilliant. I visit here quite often at lunchtime as I work close by. Staff are always very pleasant and prompt. The only downside I would say is that if you go around 1 you will be waiting but that is only because it is so busy (no bad thing really). I always aim to hit there about 1.30 ish and more or less always take away. My recommendation if not having the daily special is the peppered chicken wrap!

Came here last Friday on a wintery mid morning after doing a spot of shopping with the kids I just needed a strong coffee and something that would keep the kids occupied for a while!lol! Tried a number of places I felt didn't really appeal to myself and my kids, then I came to arthurs and I'm glad I did! I ordered myself a large latte with caramel syrup(it was super yummie!) and got the kiddies a hot chocolate and a muffin each as a treat! It was very reasonably priced but I have to say the girl who served me went above and beyond to make my experience in arthurs as pleasant as possible! She told my kids her name was Gemma (they love asking people their names nowadays lol!) Having two kids and a buggy can keep your hands full so Gemma kindly brought everything over to the table whilst also making time to talk to kids which gave me a few seconds to gather my thoughts ( a rare thing when u have young kids!) Gemma really made my experience there and I would love to come back here as much as I can! A great wee hidden "gem" lol!

We walked by this place two or three times without giving it a second glance but decided to stop in for breakfast on our last day in Belfast after seeing reviews on TripAdvisor. Staff were so friendly and helpful with helping us decide what to order. We went in on a Monday morning and they were quite busy with what appeared to be local trade (I think we were the only tourists) and they still provided fast, friendly service. Really great food, excellent value, delicious hot chocolate and outstanding coffee. Our best breakfast in Belfast - wish we would have tried it sooner.

The saying "hidden gem" can mean many things, from a precious stone located down the butt-crack of Kim Kardashian to an eatery that delivers great things and yet is unknown to the masses. Thankfully, Arthurs is one of the latter and is a cafe that provides consistent reliable service, good food and all at a reasonable price. Get there before noon and you can grab an excellent coffee at a bargain price of £1; compare that with Starbucks up the street, where those dudes are looking exactly double that amount for half the quality and taste. The downside for Arthurs is that its location is slightly off the beaten tourist trail, between Chicester Street and May Street and behind the headquarters of Ulster Bank, probably the worst bank in the world and where you lodge money at your own risk. But, seek out Arthurs and you will be well rewarded.
