Aroma Shawarma in Leicester

Disappointed with the reception following poor management. My wife had to wait 20 minutes standing, when I finally got a table he set us up and two chairs were missing even though there were 7 of us. The starters that they offered at the beginning were not given but were given to neighboring tables. Finally, the cook was aggressive when we explained our dissatisfaction. Disappointed no longer recommend.

First impressions are good. Interior is nice and staff are polite and friendly. The food however is below average and a big let down! They ran out of lamb shawarma which I was not told so I was just given extra chicken shawarma on my platter instead. I was only told this once I questioned why I had no lamb shawarma. The ribs were extremely chewy and fatty not edible what so ever. And worst of all the chicken shish was undercooked. I had stomach ache after eating here and I will never return to this restaurant again!

Chicken was pink in the middle!! I sent it back then found even more pink chicken on my platter which put us off eating anymore! No apology offered or refund! I paid half the bill and walked out. Definitely one of the worst Turkish restaurants I have been too!

My order did not arrive. The driver took a photo of another place and showed it as delivered. I never received my order. I called the store and they were no help.

Nice looking place, good atmosphere. I was impressed with the fact they serve charcoal grill. Friendly staff. What I was not impressed with was the fact I have paid 22 pounds for three skewers and asked to have the food as eating in, I have waited for 10 minutes at a table to be asked to pick up my bagged food. So no eat in option? What are the tables for then? Maybe the staff just assumed it will be a take away? Secondly, where is all the food I paid for? Surely not in the boxes I was unpacking. One box containing one naan bread and 4 small chunks of meat. One other box containing 6 chunks of ribs. It felt like a rip off. Pack the food, give it to the person and surely they are not going to come back complaining that there is food missing. I will definitely go back there. Just to give them a piece of mind. Someone please explain how is it possible that three skewers have 6 pieces of meat each and after grilling these 18 pieces transform into smaller 10 pieces. I read a review... smaller portions/bigger sizes. Your average UK food experience. Pay the money, get ripped off, write a google review. Nobody cares.

Aroma used to be amazing these days like all good places they gitbgreedy food service everything has gone down hill the lamb cozy was not nice even the lentil soup I did not enjoy it was cold they are very stingy with the portions and the toilets are filthy .

Was not amazing it was okay, customer service was really good but perhaps turkish shawarma is not for me I'm not too sure just lacked spice and flavour to me but was okay

They serve good shawarma, but I have some comments. The original shawarma should have pickles in the sandwich, garlic sauce (not mayonnaise garlic), and the bread must be flat saj bread not naan. However the chicken taste is good 😅 The restaurant is clean, and everything is organized in the plates. the falafel is not falefel at all 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

📛📛We no longer take our custom here. A once thriving family restaurant is now done for. Gordon ramsey is needed. keeps getting worse. Smaller portions higher prices. Staff are ok🙄

Had to bad experiences here food was undercooked on fish, theu need to slow down and stop rushing I prefer bodrum better

A warm welcome and all the staff are friendly and acknowledge you with a smile. Excellent service, the food is lovely and fresh and the menu has something for everyone. We called here pre gig and when we are in Leicester again it will definitely be our first stop, highly recommend.💜

Terrible and repulsive experience. The service was terrible: the waiters served us the wrong version of what we ordered, they wore dirty aprons, and to make matters worse, the waiters touched the food with their bare hands; one of the older waitresses (who was also surprisingly rude) licked her fingers and proceeded to touch the food itself on the plates and she even "played" with it, repeatedly running one finger along the rim of the plate, which was filled food. The food was also surprisingly bland; other locations serve the same food yet it tastes better - and no one touches it. The climate was nothing that noteworthy. We and our friends will never go there again. I advise you to keep going if you see this place.

My friend and I decided to have dinner at this restaurant. We paid £46 pound for 2 peoples The food was not good at all it was very oily, the meat and chicken were dry, it has nothing to do with Turkish food!!!! it is very expensive and the food is very bad I think it is a restaurant not to be visited do not waste your money it is a restaurant I will never go to again Aroma !!!!

Visited on a Saturday before attending the theatre. Absolutely delicious food. One of the best Turkish meals we’ve had. Chicken skewers were succulent and tasty. Homemade lemonade was also tasty. Quick service and highly recommend.

Top tier food and service, ordered a simple chicken shawarma with chips and naan and the food came within 5 minutes. Olives and garlic dip came on the house.

Aroma Sharma used to be good, but not anymore. The staff are rude, unprofessional, and lack customer service skills. I left the restaurant and went to another one today not because they did not accept to replace Adana kebap with the Lamp kebap, but because of the way we were treated, it was simply we do not care just go the door is there. You might have customers now but in the long term, you will lose them gradually.

Great restaurant, Taste of food is amazing, platter is very good option, Staff is good, In Weekend it is too busy so you may find bad service. Best for family. If you need to use washroom than it may be disaster.

Really nice meat platters here. When the platter comes hot, the meats and the chicken are all fab. The kebab has a good meat/fat mix for flavor n melts in your mouth. The lamb ribs are great The chicken is moist and not dried out like other places Both shawarmas are flavorful Nice fresh bread. Nice start lentil soup too. Overall great food and great service. Prices have been raised recently though.

Friendly staff and greeted to sit down. A few complimentary nibbles and soup brought to the table which was very tasty! This will definitely be my new local treat on my lunch breaks. Amazing!

We got the grape leaves, chicken and meat shawarma wrap. They started by serving lentil soup that was delicious. They most probably served canned stuffed grape leaves that were not good. The shawarma wraps were fine. Edit: I went back another time for the lentil soup and my husband couldn’t resist the smell of the grilled meats. We ordered mixed grill platter, lentil soup and hummus. The staff were incredibly nice despite us coming close to their closing time and the mixed grill was really good and juicy. I wouldn’t advise eating their shawarma but definitely worth going for the grilled foods and lentil soup

Delicious food, very nice pleace and friendly staff.

The special meal for 2 at £26 (time of review) was well worth the money! We couldn't finish it and took it home for the day after and it tasted just as good if not better. All the meat items were spiced perfectly and flavourful with every bite. The rice/couscous combo was the same (I've had blander versions at other places). Staff were wonderful and checked on us to make sure everything was ok from time to time and in general were very welcoming. Only criticism I'd have is that the place was a little cold (it was a wintery night) so i think in the summer it'd probably be a lot better.

Perfect place to come out for a meal with a family, always tasty lentil soup and shish meats of your choice.

We have been coming here as a family for many years and always have recieved excellent service and food. However our last visit was disappointing to say the least. The older gentleman, who I believe to be the manager didn't know what he was doing and is extremely rude. He was shouting at the a waitress in the middle of the restaurant. Which made us feel very uncomfortable, as a mother with a teenage daughter it was disgusting to see how he was treating a young girl. When I asked one of the other waitresses if we could order she told me she wasn't allowed to take the order and we had to wait. We waited for 20 minutes to even order our food. What is the purpose of having a waitress at the restaurant if she cannot take orders. Other then the above the food was amazing as per usual, no complaints there. We asked the manager for ketchup and his reaction was that he didn't want to get it even though he did bring us the sauce. After that he kept coming over to our table which made us uncomfortable again. We just wanted to finish our food and leave as soon as possible and this ruined the experience for me and my husband. My advice would be get the staff in order. We are willing to come again as the food is worth it and that is the only reason why I gave 2 stars.

Amazing food and outstanding service from Melody, and Kerouan (sp?) the manager. Ordered chicken qozi, lamb qozi, complimentary soup for starters, haloumi (the best we have ever had). Staff all seemed happy. Clean place. Not far from primark in town. Will return soon to try all the other food. Extensive menu. Well done guys. Definitely one of the best places to eat in Leicester Town.

It was a very bad experience. Food arrived cold. We ordered kebabs and were surprised. It was scattered as shown in the picture. There was kebab, salad and potato fingers in the plate. The potatoes and kebabs were all wet from the salad water. What a bad and miserable experience. I hope the restaurateur sees these mistakes and corrects them, the salad is supposed to be a side dish, they can't be together. Finally, we were surprised by a little hair in the food🤮🤧

We went there few days ago with my friends, it was the first time I tried Turkish food and I enjoyed it but the manager was very unprofessional and he kept coming to our table which made us so uncomfortable and I think he needs to improve his English and update his knowledge . glasses were dirty and I had to ask to change them twice. The rest of the staffs were so friendly and nice.I would give 5 star if the manager stopped bothering us.

They bring burnt food to the table and when you ask them why they have burnt it, they have no answer. It's too burnt to eat and they said we can't replace it because it is too expensive to replace.

Ring up to ensure order is possible , told yes we have shawarma only to get there and find its now not available.. no shawarma , but its in your name 🤔

The staff in this place are disgusting. I went with my wife to get a meal. There was this staff member "syaman" we caught him touching up another worker, this was just digusting we complained and left. The food is delicious but the staff need replacing ASAP.

We went for kebabs and they took 1 hour to come. The staff member i think he was a chef yesterday he hit another girl in restraunt and the girls parents came and me and my wife had to leave. Staff need to be fixed

Food is nice but something really needs to be done about the toilets they are so dirty with wet muddy floors and smells like a farm, more care needs to be taken into cleaning them as hygiene is really important especially with Covid around

I tried the kebab it was test horrible and stink I couldn't stand the smell of it I asked them it is test horrible , the meat was off they said nothing wrong with the kebab !!! I don't know nothing about kebab I am a kebab chef myself I had 2 restaurant !3 Kurdish guy behind the counter very very rude! they wasn't happy when I told them it stinks they was shouting at me saying go go away !!!! Shame on you, believe me dog wouldn't eat that keab it was raw inside never again

Very satisfying! It's a fairly standard charcoal grill restaurant with a good selection, but the service and value are outstanding. Lots of free amuse bouches including soup, bread, olives etc. The food was good, the menu fairly priced and the staff are very friendly. What more can you ask for?

Came to this place 2/3 months back and was amazing this time it was below par I couldn’t believe it to be honest. First staff are ridiculous especially the woman with curly frizzy hair rude shouting at staff throwing plates down no thank you would defo recommend her getting retrained. Food was so poor the kebabs not cooked well kept breaking apart will show pictures and salad nothing special and the chips overcooked would think twice before paying the money rather try Istanbul service and quality is better longer wait time but worth it after this experience

Saw this place in Leicester near where we parked in Lidl, and randomly walked in. We were blown away. Amazing food. Value is off the charts. We had a platter and had enough left for dinner between a family of four. Love the charcoal flavour and the service was great. Highly highly recommended. Really nice touch with soup as you arrive, and then the array of starters and mains was excellent.

We went with our guests to AROMA on 10/07/2021 and they enjoyed the food very much. We were very happy with the portion size of the Platter for 4 Mixed BBQ. The meat Quality is very good as well. I would gladly go again. -1 star is for cleanliness, the floor was not cleaned before seating us.

We had gone to this place with our friends and the food didn’t disappoint. There is a lot of competition for Turkish food in Leicester but this place stands out for value for money and good service. The mix platter was well cooked, tasty and all the dips were really good - we had a leftovers the next day. Minus one star for cleanliness (we had more food under our table than on it!) and the lemonade was really sharp.

Delicious Turkish food, really enjoyed the lamb chops

I went here last night wit a friend & we were greeted with a delicious lentil soup on the house & some lovely olive and garlic dip & fried bread nibbles. The staff were so lovely, I ordered a kofta not knowing it was minced chicken but the staff were very lovely & changed it to the shisha with non problems at which was delicious & I adored it. This came with some fresh tasty sides such as fries, salad & a homemade naan. Very tasty I really enjoyed it so I’ll be back & I’ll be ordering the same thing & the value for money is amazing. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience.

Been here a few times. Service is always good. Sharwarma runs out fast because it is loved. Gave us a free water bottle to break out fast with which was a great gesture. Would recommend.

It was okay, I found the lamb sheesh just crumbled which should not be the way.
