Arnero in Manchester

Having spent the day at the Manchester Marathon, a curry was the order of the day. The Arnero didn't disappoint, it was a great experience with excellent food and service.

Went on Saturday and enjoyed the food. Delicious cauliflower and potato aloo, amazing flavours. Fantastic and friendly service. Big choice of drinks and food menu with reasonable prices. Can't wait to go again 😛

I have to say, I was blown away by my recent trip to Arnero. From the moment I walked inside, and the scent of spices hit senses, I felt I was transported back to India, a place that has always felt like home to me. The food was authentic and heavenly. Most dishes can be ordered as a side size portion; so if you are like me and want everything on the menu, it is possible to have multiple dishes. The staff were warm and welcoming, patient and helpful. They served with more than a smile, and carried an air of genuine pleasure and gratitude about their being. If I find myself back in Manchester, I will most certainly call again.

This is in my top list of Indian restaurants in town- been visiting for over 7 years now, still as good as it was then. Superb selection of Indian street food starters- my fave is Pani Puri and the monkfish - had the Chole this last visit, very filling indeed. Really good..

A good place to try Indian food. Had their mutton kebab sizzler. Worth the price.

Quality of food was very low, chicken was like boot leather and tasteless. Not worth the money paid I would not recommend.

A good option for Indian food.. were able to manage a large group at last minute notice. Drinks are decently priced. The food was on the spicier side for us. An overall nice experience!

The food was amazing, the best chicken tikka masala Iv'e ever had, the only thing we didn't like was we felt rushed reading the menu, also the waitress was leaning over taking items away before my husband had finished his starter.

Can't put finger on it something was missing in taste and overall quality and portion size.felt rushed with empty tables around and 2 starters 2 mains 2 drinks hitting £80 🤔 it's ok shall go back to my tried and tasted curry house

Came here last Friday , we where quickly seated but then no one came to ask us if we wanted a drink , had to go find someone in the end . Staff was really friendly and the food was nice . I would go again

I tried this restaurant the other night and glad I did! Absolutely mind-blowing food, great service too. It will be my third visit tonight...YUM!!

We’ve visited here 3 times when attending gigs at various venues. The food is amazing and the service is friendly and attentive. The lamb special is lovely but on the recommendation of the owner I tried the chicken on the bone. I’m glad I did because it was unbelievably good ! If you’re in the area please give it a try, it’s well worth it.

Very nice and authentic Indian food at reasonable prices

This was a last minute booking as we could not get into another restaurant. It ended up being the best Indian meal we have ever had! Fabulously fresh food, delicious flavours and really nice service. Can’t recommend this place enough!

Oh my word! What an amazing meal. Spicy, complex flavours beautifully balanced, the best rotis we've had in years, great selection of starters/street food (golgappa are superb!) and do yourself a favour and have some kulfi and a cup of masala chai neither of which appear on the menu - just ask! The service was friendly and attentive. Highly recommended. Do yourself a favour and go!

Visited here last night for the first time and had a great experience. We ordered poppadoms with the relish tray, onion bhajis, chicken methi saag curry, a portion of Bhuna Rogan Josh sauce, pilau rice and masala chips. All of it was delicious and good sized portions. We booked a table through First Table and got 50% off the food meaning it was only £38.50 in total and that was with two beers, two pints of Coke and the service charge. The staff are all very friendly and the service was faultless also. I would definitely recommend here and we will definitely be back!

Erm, not really! It's okay. It's all right if you just want to go somewhere and eat. As an Indian restaurant, it doesn't hold a candle to the usual ones in the UK. I had the biryani, which is my go to Indian dish to gauge the restaurants. It wasn't that great. And the curry was a little too doused with tomato puree. Maybe you'd like it if you have a very European taste, and not Indian.

Great food , and very quick service. Good central location. They add 5% service charge automatically (table of 2) - I would rather choose myself how much to tip based on service and quality of food.

We turned up without a reservation at 9pm on a Sunday and were warmly welcomed, with great service and excellent food, definitely recommend.

One of the best Indians I have had. The food was delicious and the staff were friendly. We had a table booked at opening time and the atmosphere was quite quiet but it soon got very busy. Would definitely recommend

Foods are good and cheap except laccha paratha. They sale plain Naan in the name of laccha paratha. I am a lil bit of upset for this things. Otherwise they are good.

Das Restaurant ist nett eingerichtet und am Samstag Abend sehr gut besucht. Das Essen ist sehr lecker und optisch toll angerichtet. Die Hauptgerichte haben eine gute Größe, man wird auf jeden Fall sehr satt. Preislich etwas gehoben, aber noch akzeptabel. Die Bedienung ist leider etwas zurückhaltend und schwer zu bekommen, wenn man noch einen Wunsch hat.

Absolutely loved it, the best curry we've had in a long time and such friendly staff. Gutted it's nowhere near where we live or we'd be back all the time!

Food is always lovely and very reasonable prices

Good experience and good food here at Arnero. Found and booked online. Friendly welcome and quick service. Food fresh, tasty and hot. Reasonably priced for a busy city centre restaurant. Naan breads are absolutely delicious. The reason for the 4 star is because I found the menu slightly restrictive in comparison to other Indian restaurants with not a huge amount of selection. Also they add a service charge on which I would expect on tables of 5+ but not 2. It makes you feel pressured to give an additional 10%. My friend and myself would have left a decent gratuity anyway given the food quality and experience we received but the service charge makes it forced, this makes it feel more like an American dining experience but nevertheless wouldn't let it taint the good food.

ONE OF THE BEST INDIAN RESTAURANTS! Came here on my way back from a Manchester United Game on a Sunday at 8 pm. Not too many people here so easy to find a table. To start I ordered the Poppadam with relishes (Mango Chutney, Coriander Chutney, Pickled Onion). Then I got Chicken Tikka Masala with Garlic Naan and Rice. Man that was an amazing meal and my mouth is watering thinking about it now. Great service as well, would come back.

If i could give ten stars, I would give more, I am a master and Indian cuisine and this place ticks all the boxes. I have to recommend the lamb chops starter and we got one of each of the mains and not one could I find a fault. I even asked to go to the kitchen to meet the chef as I wanted to know their secret. The management is amazing, great customer service, you get the bill when asked for, but most of all, the Indian food is certainly the best in Manchester I’ve had so far

We booked Arnero to visit with a group of people visiting Manchester for an international conference. The staff were amazing, accommodating our large group and went above and beyond to ensure that we had a positive experience. We were offered a delicious set menu which was delicious and great for some of our guests who aren't so familiar with Indian food! We will definitely be visiting again :) Thank you!!

Food served was authentic Indian(Lot of veg options) The quantity was also good. Lime soda was little bit off. However the ambience and taste was exceptional. Must visit

Ok, just want to say that, me and my friend went in here for a meal this evening 18th June 2022 and we didn't regret it one bit! The food was absolutely gorgeous, the service was very, very good and attentive, we where properly looked after and the owner, well what a gentleman. Thank you so much for a splendid time at your restaurant, we will return. Trans very friendly (LGBTQI+ friendly).

The Food was really tasty, I had Chicken Biryani & requested them to make it Indian Spicy. It was Bang-on. Loved it.

Never go here, one price on the menu, different price when it comes to paying.

Ripped off Manchester!!! Don’t come here. I’m driving traveling to Manchester. I phone to the restaurant asking quick & easy takeaway CHICKEN BRIYANI. And mention on the phone that I would like to pay by card because I don’t carry cash enough. Everything was fine on the phone. When I got in to the restaurant. I was asking to sit today and wait. I ask the waiter to pay for my order while I wait. Waiter respond to me “just sit down” soon later waiter came and inform me that they have problem with card machine can I pay them Cash? I reply nicely “I don’t have cash”. Waiter go back and bring another card machine which is the same machine that he said it has an issue… Waiter place to bill and rushing me to pay but when I look at the bill there’s 12.5% added. I asked why service charge was added? He doesn’t say reason why, just said “ok I take it off”???? He come back with correct bill and price then I pay by contactless. I checked in the bag there’s 500ml plastic container, rice soak with sweet curry, 4 pieces chicken, look like chicken briyani. I ask for cutlery waiter told me that “oh they don’t have any cutlery” straightaway after they don’t get service charge from me. I insisted that I can’t eat because I don’t have spare cutlery and I need it to eat the food that I just order. Then he go to have word with main man, I believe, behind counter bar. They have short secret conversations the the main man went to kitchen and grab plastic fork and spoon put in the bag for me with cheeky smile. Tax Evasion? Greedy for tip & service charge. Not honest Manchester Alerted 🚨 DON’t Get RIPPED OFF!!!

Went here for Valentine’s Day as I loved it last time I went, this is one of the best restaurants I’ve been to. The staff are really friendly and attentive, the prices and portion sizes are great, really tasty food, beautiful presentation — will absolutely come back again :)

Had a fantastic meal here. I had duck in a curry which is something I never thought I would have as I didn't think it would work, but it really does!! Was probably one of the best curries I have had. Amazing flavour and thickness to the sauce was really nice with very little oil as there usually is in curries. Rice and naan bread were also cooked really well. Service was friendly and really quick, restaurant was quite busy but didn't take long for the food to come. Highly recommend this place if your in Manchester and enjoy Indian cuisine 👍

Very good meal and a friendly atmosphere. Interesting and unusual range of dishes. Everything we tried was excellent. Service was exceptional as they chased us down the street to give my mother-in-law her glasses that she had left on the table!

A top one. We had butter chicken and Tikka masala. Both absolutely delicious. The most surprise were those chilli lambschops, grilled. The waiter gets a full house, a real pro and really nice to chat with him about selection of wine and food. When in Manchester, dont miss this one out.

Perfect cozy little restaurant for an unforgettable Indian food experience. We ordered some vegetable dishes and enjoyed every single bite. The portion size is just right (perhaps even too much, but we will not complain).

Lovely vegetarian Street food with dishes I've not had before. However poppadoms, starters and mains all came at once so felt rushed. When asked that I receive the discount from my VIP Canal Street card waiter told me no such thing existed. He was pulled up by another member of staff who told him this discount existed. His attitude through the evening had felt quite misogynistic. I wanted to like Arnero a lot and the food was superb but we did feel the evening was let down by that particular waiter.

Best curry in the UK hands down!! We stumbled across the restaurant accidentally but to our surprise it truly was the best meal. Excellent survive and the most insane chicken tikka curry. Will have to travel back to Manchester to dine here again!!!!

Very nice food and helpful staff. Interior is not typically Indian, but flavors of food will move you to India. During our stay it was not so crowded. But even with more customers it will be good place for nice dinner or meeting with friends.

I've lived in the city for almost 20 years, I’ve tried every curry house from Rusholme to Cheetham Mill, Arnero delivers every time. Once I requested a slight change to a dish and they made me it from fresh to my taste.

Food was good but quantity was less. Yes, you can visit this restaurant for indian food.

We are never going back to this restaurant. The entire main course served was stale, the lamb curry was served straight out of the fridge! Ended up with food poisoning, my husband got an upset stomach for two days after the dinner. Worst decision to walk in for dinner. We had been to many indian restaurants in Manchester, Glasgow, Birmingham and also in London, but this restaurant served such tasteless startes, main course etc. I am an honest reviewer, and not writing anything without experience. Scene,Chennai dosa,Wah ji Wah, Tiffin Room ,Bandobast are among the best Indian eateries here in Manchester. Please try anywhere but in arnero!

Great curry. Not greasy or heavy. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Had a good selection of veggie options.

My friend and I fancied a good curry, we both walked into Arnero and were taken into the side restaurant (covered outbuilding). We both ordered some poppadom's, chutneys along with our sides and mains, we specified seperate bills as I was travelling for work. The drinks came out and unfortunately the server tripped and the whole pint landed on me, my top, jeans etc... they were soaked through. Thankfully my phone was still working, the server apologised. Shortly later the food came out and it was good, the naan was a little too black on about half of it but I still ate it, the main was OK but I have had better. I didn't manage to finish my food so I took some away to eat later. The bill came and I kind of expected maybe a deduction considering I was soaked through however the only deduction was for my friends beer... I ended up paying the full amount on my bill. Accidents happen which is understandable but there could have been more done to rectify the issue. The food was OK but I have had better. Most probably wouldn't return.

Went to Arnero while on a short visit to Manchester. Pinky and the team made us feel very welcome. My parents and I ordered a variety of dishes with poppadoms, rice and naan. Everything was delicious. I had the saag paneer which was one of the best I've ever had - the paneer was marinated and grilled before being added to the delicious spinach and herbs, which gave it an incredible depth of flavour and lovely texture. Would go back again if I returned to Manchester - don't forget to receive your after dinner joke when you go!
