Argyle House Restaurant in Glasgow City

Had the menu by Gordon Ramsay food, and it was fabulous.

We went here for a special birthday lunch after the tour around Ibrox stadium, the food was good and although the service was a little slow, we do understand that the restaurant was busy at the time. The only criticism I would make, we did mention during our booking that this was for my Son's birthday, and had expected a nice little message or gesture for his special day, but nothing was done, which was a little disappointing.

Went for my dad’s 70th & worst place we’ve ever been. Service was a disgrace. We had to chase a high chair, coffee & kids meals numerous times. Nowhere on website does it say that Sunday is carvery & we weren’t told this at booking. The food was horrible. Other table orders were added to our bill. Better food & service at McDonald’s without the £35 per person price tag.

Meal was superb and staff were amazing.

Brilliant place. Service was excellent. From arrival we were looked after. Father in law is waiting for a hip op so very limited mobility. Staff were great in making sure he was fine in getting to the lift and getting to his seat. Service in the restaurant was excellent. The views of the park are great and the food is brilliant. The staff are excellent and nothing is to much for them. Plenty of room at the tables and the decor is very modern and light. The atmosphere is excellent and you are not rushed either. Excellent.

Service was very slow even though it was very quiet. Staff clearly didn’t want to be there. My partners pint was flat and took forever to bring a new one which wasn’t much better. No one collected out empty glasses when bringing new drinks. Our starters haggis Bon Bons were clearly reheated as they were overcooked and then left to go cold again before serving. I had steak which was meant to be medium well but it was like leather

Booked a lunch for our family at the Blue Sky lounge, first time visitors to the restaurant (me, hubby, 2 kids 12 & 9) for my husband’s birthday. Lovely comfortable restaurant with relaxing decor. Lovely view over the pitch. Staff were attentive and the food was beautiful. Good choice and something for everyone, good quality and well priced, well worth the money. Food came from the kitchen promptly and hot, portion size very good. I have no complaints. A lovely dining experience and will definitely be back. My husband (and the kids) were very happy with the experience. 10/10 Ibrox.

Worse meal I have ever had in a restaurant. My Rangers daft nephew came from London for this meal for his birthday. 4 meals. Burger and chips looked like a McDonald’s meal. Asked for steak medium cooked, was raw, could only eat around the outside, and they forgot to bring the pepper sauce with it. Steakpie dinner was cold, not even warm. Turkey dinner was nice but tepid, by the time I was halfway through it was cold. Sent the steakpie back, waited 20min for it to come back still cold. Staff were lovely, apologised and got complimentary deserts. Not the point. This restaurant should be fantastic.. £27.50pp for 2 courses. Bill was £150 for a disappointing night. Would have got a better meal at one of the fast food places. Would not go back or recommend.

It's a lovely restaurant and very clean

We visited after the stadium tour and museum for my husband’s birthday Thought it would be nice to have dinner after to finish the treat After staying in Glasgow for the weekend and having only great restaurant experiences this was a total let down Had the roast - big mistake ! The roast pork was dry and fatty accompanied with a hard Yorkshire pudding and tough roast potatoes with a tiny portion of gravy in a miniature jug ! When I asked if there was any apple sauce the waitress looked a bit surprised but still went off to ask but was told no we don’t do that ! Thought the dessert had to be better. Cheesecake which was like a mousse in a dish with the cheesecake base lightly sprinkled on the top ! That was Just as disappointing as the roast Hopefully Gordon Ramsey might sort the place out The only good thing was the view of the pitch for my husband

First time I've been in since the refurb and now Blue Sky Lounge. Surroundings definitely an upgrade on the previous decor. Food .. we were in on a Sunday and it was £27 for 2 courses and £32.50 for 3 !! Starter of haggis bon bons was a small portion but mains of beef pie and chicken were a more generous portion as was the sticky toffee pudding. Food was well presented and service was prompt. Staff couldn't do enough for you and were really friendly and really make you visit more special.

Excellent meal, thought it was very good value. Lentil soup was lovely and the Beef pie and potatoes were beautiful Obviously the view was tremendous and we got a great seat in a booth at the window. Went on a Saturday evening and it was busy but not full

We went for an early bday celebration for my son and having read the reviews wasn’t expecting much, but we had a brilliant night, my boys thoroughly enjoyed the night, the food was good, good portion sizes and the staff were brilliant really attentive and sorted out my youngest with a kids portion of steak pie! Is it a cheap night out, no, but it’s the first place in a while where people have gone above and beyond for us and we were so grateful, annoyingly you can’t add a tip onto the bill if paying by card but that was our only downside

Attended for my dad's birthday. Thoroughly disappointed. After a good start with orders taken quickly and great views of the pitch it rapidly went downhill. Starters served in acceptable time but then huge wait for mains with most arriving cold or luke warm. Dad had fish and chips and fish was really cold. Most of us had fillet or sirloin steak, all of which were luke warm, seemed everything had sat on hot plate which explained delay. Very rarely did anyone attend to take drink orders so we spent a lot of time thirsty then waited up to 40 minutes after mains before table was cleared and dessert orders taken. It was a miserable experience that cost in excess of £300. Our booking was at 15.45 on 5th August for verification for 7 adults and 1 kid. Would never attend again. Gutted we wasted our money on such poor service and cold food. That's why no tip was left.

Nicely furnished, service a bit slow, food average my fish was so overdone I couldn't cut the batter!

Very good experience in fantastic surroundings with great food.I felt a bit sorry for the staff as they were clearly understaffed and suffering from a few teething problems .The restaurant was busy, which was great to see, and there were maybe some unplanned walk ins.Some diners were a little frustrated at the wait for their food and were complaining to the staff, so this does need to be addressed to take the restaurant to the next level.But the customers need to step back a bit too, as where better a place could you be to have a meal.I wish the Sky Lounge every success for the future

Booked as we were there doing the tour of ibrox but really disappointed. We ordered fish & chips x2 and my son had the burger. Fish was rotten and batter was doughy, really not good and the burger was a bit grisly. Starter was lentil soup, was ok but bread was stale and cheesecake was in a small glass and more like a mousse. We did complain and did read reviews before we went however after reading food wasn’t hot enough, staff weren’t great and took ages, we didn’t have any of these problems. Best thing was the view ❤️🤍💙 Tried it, wouldn’t go back!

2nd review, 1st for the rebranded now named ‘blue sky lounge’. Heating wasn’t working on arrival, jackets on for the duration of our visit. It would have been good if the staff could have acknowledged the very obvious heating issue, nothing, carried on regardless. Food portions, absolutely ridiculous, don’t know who was in charge of portion control, you got it so so wrong. Michelin star portions but Witherspoon quality! Bill for the 3 of us, well of the mark, felt totally ripped off! 1st review for the then argyle house was 5 stars, couldn’t have been happier, it was right on the mark. Hopefully things have improved since my visit, I personally won’t be back, sad, loved this place in its original format.

Booked here for father in laws 90th birthday and was so looking forward to it. All started off well and went steadily downhill. Lovely table by the window. Got drinks and starter fairly quickly. Haggis starter was actually tasty. Our main course of 3 pies was a different matter. We waited nearly an hour. When it came it was very underwhelming. Lukewarm at best. Not my idea of a pie. A small bowl of meat and gravy with a small bit of puff pastry plonked on top. A teaspoon of peas and a soggy piece of broccoli. At least the chips were hot. The service was very poor. No one asked us if we wanted anymore drinks or if the food was ok. Very hard to get any attention. People were complaining and one table walked out as they had waited nearly 2 hours for their main course. It was a shambles. You would get better food and service at a Wetherspoons. It’s such a shame as the new restaurant is lovely. They need to seriously up their game. Good luck to Gordon Ramsey.

My daughter treated me to a belated Fathers Day treat as I live in Nottingham now. We both kept it simple and just had the burger. Very tasty it was. Service was down yo earth and non pretentious. Loved the good atmosphere and thoroughly enjoyed the experience

My son had booked this for me and I was so looking forward to this as we are all season ticket holders , we arrived and we’re taking to our seats, table could have done with a clean we ordered drinks and they arrived promptly then ordered our meals Starters came quite quickly,then after that service was non existent ,I spoke with the manager and told her that we have waited 35 min for our mains and she left and never got back to us then my son spoke to another manager after 45 min and no response after 1 hr I spoke to manger to advise her of our wait and told her we would be leaving , the staff need more communication with dinners and kitchen staff total let down and a waisted day to something I was totally looking forward to

I had booked this restaurant for fathers day what a disappointment, i had booked before seeing the menu or price my bad but what was on there original menu looked good. however when we arrived we where given a set menu which had only 3 starters 4 mains and 2 deserts, to which my boys did not like most of and the staff wouldn't deviate from the set menu. the price per head was £55 which for a poor set menu was daylight robbery, the food was cool didn't want to complain at the time as didn't want to spoil Fathers day. what a disappointing night out definitely wont be back.

Food fantastic,service was excellent nothing too much trouble. Birthday dinner with the family,included a nice surprise when the waitress brought out the cake. Nice touch. Great atmosphere.

I had the steak medium, unfortunately there was a lot of fat and chewy. My good ladies meal was not hot enough for her but was tasty.

Wee bit late with my review. I was treated to an absolutely amazing meal by my family for my 50th birthday meal. Amazing restaurant it's absolutely beautiful. The haggis bon bon starter is beautiful just wish there was a bigger portion. The Sirloin steak was cooked perfectly for my liking and the house sauce was one of the best sauce's ever. We all loved the food and the restaurant. The head waitress/manager was such a great person and took time out for a wee chat too. I have highly recommended the restaurant and would definitely be back.

Had a great night tonight went for my son's birthday ,had a lovely meal and staff were very friendly and helpful as we had the baby with us one staff member took photos of us and they sang happy birthday while bringing out the cake .

Only one complaint which the food wasn't as hot as it should be.. Tasted lovely but not just got enough.. Apart from that can't complain with the service and the surroundings.. All were spot on. 👍🏼

Beautiful food, very limited menu though.

We arrived on time to be seated and was really looking forward to a nice meal and catch up with our friends. On arrival we were seated at let’s call it table 2. At table 1 there was a young couple with a young boy. At table 3 there was 2 people seated and soon after the birthday boy and I’m assuming his partner arrived. This is where it started to go downhill quickly. On entering the premises they made their way to table 3 and were loud with offensive language which was totally unacceptable. Our starters arrived which were fine. Then our main meals arrived. My husband and I had both ordered the steak pie which had to be sent back due to being cold. The female at table 1 who was facing me asked if our food was cold and I replied yes and she informed me that they had sent their food back for the same reason.( obviously no standard checks as food from other tables had already been sent back for the same reason) Whilst waiting we could not have a conversation due to the noise and offensive lab continued the whole time we were seated. Due to being seated directly from the bar I observed the staff looking at them on numerous occasions however, chose to do nothing about it and never challenged them in anyway. Our food arrived for the second attempt and the steak was warm not hot, the potatoes and veg were Luke warm at best. I didn’t want to stay any longer than needed so ate it rather than sending it back again. Our friend had the fish pie and it was also warm not hot and our female friend ate what she could of the burger as she didn’t want to upset us due to them being our guests. When we had finished our mains we asked to be moved tables as quite frankly I couldn’t take the noise and language from table 3 any longer as we were all due to say something due to staff failing to intervene. I really don’t know why with so many families being present they never got told to tone it down as staff were standing almost directly across from them. The female at table 1 raised her eyebrows at me and shook her head then with her hand gestured that she was this close to losing it!!! Thumb and forefinger were almost touching. We said to the female it wasn’t worth it as she looked really upset and close to crying. We were then seated at a new table and due to the appalling standard of the main meals I didn’t wish to order a dessert. When I went to pay £132.50 I stated that the food was still cold even after being heated in a microwave and the staff member advised that it was new steak pie and that they didn’t have a microwave in the kitchen. I also stated the potatoes and veg were Luke warm however, I really don’t think they were interested. I don’t go out often and it generally for a special occasion and I have never written an email of complaint. However I will be waiting a response before posting on the follow follow forum and all my social media accounts as I wouldn’t want anyone else to be as disappointed as we were. I know that Gordon Ramsey is due to take it over however, that is not an excuse for sending out poor quality meals.

Came here with our nephew. Had lunch before ibrox tour, prompt and friendly service. Place is stunning and the views over the stadium is amazing! We all enjoyed our food, stand out was the steak pie - super tasty and filling. Drinks served quickly and such a modern vibe was very busy as well. We shall be back. Well done to all the staff. Also got 15% off with mygers discount.

The service was appalling we were a party of 11 we never received our food at the same time I had finished eating my dinner before some of our party had not even been served there dinner we had to ask for our dirty plates to be removed from the table one member of staff looked so miserable we will not be going back

Food was just okay, the steak pie could have been warmer but the service was appalling! We had a table of six for two courses and we were nearly 2.5 hours. Unfortunately we won’t rush back.

An amazing place for lunch, really stylish decor with great waiting staff who were friendly welcoming and very attentive being let down by poor management and kitchen staff ….I’m sorry to say we had steak which without exaggeration we struggled to cut with a knife let alone chew , to be fair it was changed for a fresh one immediately but that was no better and only served to add insult to injury , we appreciated the gesture of removing both steaks from the bill but that doesn’t make up for a poor and embarrassing experience and it was also noted and disappointing that restaurant manager made no attempt to accept responsibility and explain or apologise but instead left it to the poor waiting staff who had been nothing but excellent throughout . I doubt if we would return.

Service and food is excellent and the view of the pitch in the iconic 5 star Ibrox Stadium is wonderful. Newly refurbished, food still excellent and view magnificent as ever.

Evening was perfect for my birthday

As part of my parents anniversary and my birthday 7 of us went for a late lunch, early dinner. The service was excellent and 1 of the waitresses even helped us play a prank on my mum. The food was excellent and very filling. The new decor is also lovely will definitely return.

Won’t come back ! Terrible service. Waited over an hour for our main course and again for our dessert. Nobody knew how to open the blinds so we couldn’t see the pitch either . Staff were lovely but not enough of them

My son and his wife surprised me on Saturday with dinner at Ibrox I was so excited but the whole experience was very disappointing, we arrived for 6 for our booking my son and his wife ordered a started I didn’t want one, it arrived 45 minutes later now remember I haven’t ate yet, drinks took 20 mins and finally after 1 hour 20 mins my dinner arrived minus peas and tartare sauce by this time I was so hungry and then having to wait for the rest of my dinner I lost my appetite the chips looked like they were threw on the plate and a very greasy batters dish on top and if that wasn’t enough we were asked if we wanted the bill before the dessert was served , I totally get it’s a new restaurant and possibly they were the understaffed but the excitement was totally taken away from me I left really sad most of the staff were really good and apologetic but some were quite rude and ignored what we asked for so not a pleasant birthday treat at all

Went for Sunday lunch Menu very sparse but still had options which looked appealing Burgers went down well but the “fish” and chips was rotten Expected a portion of crispy battered cod or haddock but instead got 2 soggy fish goujons straight from the freezer very disappointing Service time was poor although the servers were friendly. When we highlighted the ridiculous wait for the main then the desert we were advised by the head of house “we have a few large parties in so that has slowed thing up” Don’t you know by your bookings how many people are coming in? Really need to up their menu choice and service issues.

Waited over an hour for our main course and another 45 mins for our sweet staff were run off their feet but obviously there was a breakdown somewhere ..felt the manager was so busy trying to look good he didn't take much time for his customers .People were staring at us wauting to be seated as we simply were well over our time due to the time we waited on food .

Visited on 5th Aug - booking was 1:30 😁What a great experience, not because I was having lunch in the Ibrox suite (Argyle Restaurant is getting upgraded), because Sharon is just amazing. Hospitality was on point from Sharon, food was fab. Some days you are just meant to cross paths with living Angels and she works in Ibrox 😁😁😁

Recently visited the restaurant after the refurb. Staff friendly as usual. Great menu and quality of food, you could tell it had all been freshly made. Brilliant view of the stadium.

Food was awful, had better in supermarket cafe.and we where a table of 4 adults and 1 child, The menu we saw on line was not the menu that was available on the night. The menu was very limited. We asked for mayonnaise and where told they had none??? Shocking for the price of £175.

Absolute pleasure to enjoy my trip to Ibrox and see The Famous and enjoy the whole experience in comfort. Nice leisurely experience with a couple of pints if good lager before and after the game. The ambiance made an old guy very happy.

Attended the Argyle House for lunch on 16th Feb with my Husband and two grt nephews what a lovely meal we all enjoyed fresh and hot.Staff were amazing very friendly and where great with the boys. Very warm and friendly atmosphere loved by all Thankyou RFC services.💯👍💙
