Had Sunday Lunch here with family as a treat. Once again the food was delicious, the service was excellent and the ambiance was lovely. I feel very lucky (and have done so for years) that Ardtara is a simple pop down the road !

First class food lovingly served. Do try the parsnip ‘snoop’ which was a cause of much mirth over the linguistic slip.

District 45

07/10/2018: Found this gem of a restaurant during a supplier visit and will definitely be visiting again in future. Fantastic setting, great food and service at reasonable prices. 2 great courses left us too full for desserts!
06/11/2018: As busy people, like most, we don't often get the chance to get together as a family but as it was 25 years since our special mother passed away we decided to make the effort to get together to commemorate a wonderful lady.

Rafters & Friels Bar

28/10/2018: It really has been too long since my last visit to this iconic pub and restaurant. Called in today and the food was exceptional, and very reasonably priced, the staff were friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable about the menu. Warm and cosy surroundings. Great offers on Christmas fayre, best I've seen anywhere and some great music lined up, including one of my favourites, Jackson Rox. Planning on going back very soon
04/08/2018: We saw Friels Bar and Restaurant advertised in the Mid Ulster Visitor Guide and it sounded very appealing. It did not disappoint. Although we arrived just twenty minutes before food ended at 8pm, we were made to feel very welcome and the service was personal and excellent. My cod was cooked to perfection with light batter, and the chips were the best I’ve had in a long time. The bar is currently run by the fourth generation of the Friel family and has been in the family name for over a hundred years. Highly recommended.
