Aqua 43 in Thanet

Popped in on feb 13th with our small dog..There was large selection of food on the menu. Prices were very reasonable and service was excellent. Staff really friendly and helpful. Food was cooked lovely and was piping hot.. (some classic tunes playing in the background) not to loud as to spoil our meal. Would definitely recommend for breakfast 5 out of 5 I will definitely pop in on our next visit Broadstairs.

We visited this restaurant on 5th October for lunch and both decided on the seniors roast lamb, an excellent choice. Plenty of lamb, beautifully cooked accompanied by carrots, cabbage, sweetcorn, peas and broccoli plus roast potatoes, all perfectly cooked and accompanied by a bowl of mint sauce. Served with a cup of coffee all for the price of £11.99 each! Served by very friendly staff in a clean establishment. 100% recommend this restaurant

Amazing find. We had the most enjoyable meal over the weekend. Myself and hubby had Haddock and Chips, this was definitely the best Haddock and Chips I can ever remember having. Homemade Chips and the freshest tasting fish. Children both had children portions and they looked a decent size and they both enjoyed them. Son had Cheeseburger and daughter had scampi. Staff were so friendly and helpful too. Can't wait to go back and have fish and chips again. Might even get to try a dessert next time too.

Fish was so fresh and the batter crisp and light. Service was very good, been here before and wasn't disappointed once again.

After reading all of the positive feedback we thought we would try the food, was we disappointed, I ordered omelette and chips with peas, the chips were luke warm and soggy, the peas were dry and hard, the only thing that was edible was the omelette. Not an enjoyable experience.

Found this by looking on trip advisor, it was clean and cosy and seemed to have lots of regulars in there, all ready to recommend. The service was great and quick and food really nice, will definitely go back there again.

Down on holiday and went for fish and chips in this restaurant, as advertised on a board outside. Not busy, and found a couple of single seat options, either of which would have suited. An older lady came out from the kitchen and told me off for not having waited at the door to be seated. I apologised and left. Disappointing as a first impression.

Had a huge roast dinner including coffee. Then diet coke in a nice tumbler with ice. Really nice. Friendly service. Would definitely return.

I have eaten in and mostly have take-away. Food is very good quality, staff are all friendly. The chicken and mushroom pie as a roast dinner is fabulous.

From start to finish, service was excellent. Food was fresh and tasty, fish and chips best in town. Staff very friendly with a nice touch of humour, made the visit with family from Canada very enjoyable.

A beautiful tea shop in the main towny bit of Broadstairs. We only went for desserts but these were very good and served in an efficient and friendly way so we ended up staying for wine etc. Decor is aqua, as might be expected.

Found this little gem today after doing the escape room around the corner which we had been to for my daughters 9th birthday treat. The food was delicious, freshly prepared and piping hot. The staff were so lovely and when I asked if we could have the cake we had brought, they took it from me, put the candles on it and came out with music playing all singing happy birthday! They gave us plates, a knife and little pot of cream to have with it. Very reasonably priced and worth every penny. Will definitely go back.❤

We came here for lunch a few days ago. The meals were generally ok and certainly fresh, but the chips were just awful - there was a strange smell coming off them and when I tried them, they tasted of old, rancid frying oil. I couldn’t eat them at all, neither could my daughter. Such a shame, as the fish we had was very fresh (even if the batter was rather orange!), but without good chips, what’s the point? I appreciate they were home cut chips, and that the cost of cooking oil has rocketed, but you can’t fry in old oil that leaves this kind of a taste, without spoiling the rest of the meal. Really wanted to love this place given all the reviews and its history, but sadly won’t be going back.

We were looking for somewhere to have Sunday lunch after our walk. We’ve been to Aqua 43 before for great fish & chips so were delighted to see they served roasts. We were starving so had chilli & mango prawns to start with which were excellent. I had beef and hub had chicken. Both came on large plates with generous portions of meat, a great selection of veg, Yorkshire, stuffing and delicious gravy. Excellent value too (half the price of some venues) so thank you for feeding us so well on a cold day

We were in Broadstairs for a weekend break and popped in for some lunch, the place was empty and we all wondered why because the food was cooked to order and it was lovely. We all had something different but it all came out together...

Visited during a very busy Saturday night at the end of Folk music week, were seated promptly and then looked after for the remainder of our visit. Didn't feel rushed, food was excellent and I loved the specials board which meant I didn't have chips...

We eat here on a regular basis for lunch. Menu caters for all dietary requirements with plenty of choice, the best roast dinner and fish & chips in town. Friendly service and homemade food

Popped into this Blue premises very clean friendly lovely cod and chips we had pot of tea mushy peas tartar sauce we enjoyed it very much , we will be calling again well worth the visit

I did not eat here( but have done and had take away which is top) but my Mum (83) did with her cousin this evening. They love it and had a great evening good food and great service. When they were let down by all the local cab companies for a lift home, aqua43 stepped up and so very kindly offered my mum a Lift home. I must add this is not part of their normal service offer!! But, Thank you so very much for attention above and beyond the call of duty to customers. Thank you Trevor and special mention for Charlie! What a great family run Restaurant this is. Thank You.

This was a return visit, as once we had discovered this gem of a restaurant we wouldn't go anywhere else. We were a party of 6 adults and 3 children. We waited at the door to be seated and were quickly shown to two tables next to each other.The menu includes fish and chips (Haddock, Cod or Plaice) and homemade pies as well as many other things. There is a specials board, starters and desserts are also available. The staff are very attentative to children, our grandchildren love it there.The restaurant and loos are all spotlessly clean. The manager and staff are very friendly, attentative and always smiling. We cannot wait until our next visit.

Popped in after a long day exploring the coast, and the roast caught my wife’s eye. My daughter and I had pies. The venue is a cafe/restaurant with a relaxing vibe and a sea themed decor. Service was friendly. The food was good. Everything was well cooked and flavoursome.

Came here for an early dinner with the kids. Excellent fish and chips, the batter was crispy and not dripping with oil, the chips were spot on too.

Really good fish and chips. Recommend both the haddock and the cod. Not too oily and can taste the freshness of the fish. If you are in Broadstairs go and visit.

Sausage and bacon sandwiches and a full English for our party of 3 were devoured leaving empty plates. Great hot food and a very calming blue/turquoise decor. Clean, very reasonably priced with friendly staff. Don’t miss it!

If you are ever in Broadstairs then Aqua 43 has got to be the place to go. Roomy and well let. Beautiful lighting and a cool place to relax. What makes this place besides the food are the staff. My mother and I wanted to share and the staff even served it on two plates. The manager even made sure we had equal mushrooms . We had crispy garlic mushrooms and chips with garlic dip. Simply delicious . Our server was Charlie who had a lovely smile and was happy to make our experience fantastic, nothing was too much trouble.Access for wheelchairs possible, toilets and WiFi to boot. Fantastic menus on the chalkboards we lots of choice at great prices.Will go for a visit again soon.

We have been using this restaurant over the last 8 years or so when on day trips to Broadstairs up to 10 times a year.It's always a highlight of the day quality fish and chips before setting off home.As a creature of habit I had my usual Haddock and chips .The haddock was over cooked to which I told the waitress who just said sorry then went off back into the kitchen I wrongly assumed she was going to let the kitchen staff know but she didn't come back.Very disappointing indeed as we've had so many excellent meals over the years.Sadly we won't be going back.

We called in whilst on holiday and were glad that we did. We were all very pleased with our meals of fish and chips, the haddock was beautifully cooked and the batter crispy without a trace of grease. Although we didn't order wine (driving) the list was very varied and also reasonably priced, it put many pubs to shame.The staff were really friendly and helpful and we would definitely return if in the area at some point in the future.

Been here a few times and the food is lovely and fresh and plenty of it. Had pies and fish, scampi and omelettes. All really tasty and the staff are so helpful.

Been many times before and always really enjoyed. Today the chips were hard and inedible. Young inexperienced staff said that it was because the potato was in the change of season. Very disappointed won’t be rushing back as looks like a new restaurant has opened up across the road which was busy, compared to only one other couple dining, when previously always packed.

The food was good and filling with healthy and not so healthy options. The kids chicken nuggets were high quality and not the cheap rubbish often served elsewhere Vegan & vegetarian options available too.The restaurant itself is vibrant and clean with very attentive staff. We chose it as it had space at peak time and are very glad that we did.

Had fish and chips here. Wasn’t sure if we had made the right choice -but a busy bank holiday and we hadn’t booked anything, it wasn’t busy. But the fish and chips was delicious. ESP the fish. So fresh and non greasy. Perfectly cooked.

This is a lovely cafe in the centre of Broadstairs offering the most delicious fish during our short holiday (we tried fish dishes at other venues and this was by far the best). Plentiful parking is available nearby and it's a pleasant walk to the restaurant from the car park. The staff here was really friendly and the service was super-quick - great when you have hungry little ones. The menu definitely appeals to families, offering all the usuals - burgers, chips, pies, omelettes etc., and is licensed with a reasonable range of spirits, beer and wines. Reassuringly clean with a pleasant 'blue hued' interior. The prices are neither cheap nor expensive - somewhere in the middle but certainly worth it.

The fish and chips were ok with large portion of tartare sauce. I would have expected Ted a better piece of cod from a beach resort. Not very crispy and bit bland. Very slow to take order and long time for bill. As they were turning customers away a bit quicker service would have freed up tables.

My wife and I were very pleased to have found Aqua 43. With so many other restaurants and cafes in the Broadstairs area closed, we came across this gem of a place.The restaurant was spotless. Sanitiser on entering, Q code to scan and tables well spaced apart and the extensive menu on the blackboard meant that you didn't have to handle menus so you know all the safety measures are taken care of. I didn't get the young chaps name who served us but he was polite and represented the restaurant very well. The food was fantastic (scampi and plaice) and a decent sized portion. We shared a pudding which was piping hot tasty and light, not stodgy. Prices were very reasonable. Would have no qualms about recommending this place to any of my family or friends.

We visited here although reviews were mixed but there was no que..a mistake perhaps. Fish was bland and not crispy, the chips were oily. Not recommend a visit.

Popular fish and chip restaurant found on a cold windy (but delightful) day in Broadstairs. Staff welcoming and happy to assist with seating, high chairs etc. Care taking to clean and sanitise tables before seating.Menu on a blackboard, delicious, appetising options including an extensive children’s menu. Friendly chatty service, brought out in a timely manner with drinks first - branded bottles, not cheap but the genuine product rather than watery draft soft drink. Food was very nice and was served with a free side - my daughter thought the peas were delicious! Not rushed to finish despite coming in for a late lunch and by the time we had finished the restaurant was almost empty. Service was well thought out and polite. Thank you for a lovely lunch today we all really enjoyed it

I had the roast dinner and it was truly awful. It resembled a school dinner with the meat being incredibly thin and half the plate being peas. It was very obvious that it had all come from frozen and microwaved. Also, they still had their Christmas decorations up even though it was the middle of August?P.s. if I’d of seen the way the manager replies to any negative review he receives then I wouldn’t of come at all, extremely rude.

We visited Aqua43 during the 'eat out to help out' in August 2020. We were very impressed with what appears to be an independent family run business. The staff were friendly, the Covid procedures made us feel safe. The food was brought out quickly, piping hot. Delicious fish & chips. Nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely return next time we are in Broadstairs in October! Highly recommend.

Could not fault anything even if I wanted to. Everything was amazing staff are friendly and kind, food was the best I have ever tasted and even tho prices was higher then expected (before the eat out scheme) would still of happily paid full price for this and will definitely be only returning to this fish and chip shop on our visits to the beach.

We Only ate there as all other restaurants in Broadstairs were fully booked. The food was diabolical. Had cheeseburgers, chips and onion rings. Burgers were practically Raw, really undercooked and swimming in grease, the chips tasted like they were cooked in oil that was older than the dinosaurs and the onion rings were the cheapest and nastiest frozen crap from a supermarket budget range. My daughter and I felt sick afterwards. I would rather starve than eat here again!

Beautifully cooked, fresh Cod & Chip’s. One of the best my husband and myself has had! Service was quick and staff friendly and very child friendly. Very clean. We would definitely recommend. and will be back the next time we are in Broadstairs.

Took my 92 year old aunt for a treat. It was perfect. Great service, plenty of room. Pensioner sized portion. Easy to drop off outside and parking was close by.

Visited today with my granddaughters (8 and 5) as a treat after their visit to see Father Christmas. The food was all freshly cooked and the girls loved their chicken nuggets and spooning their ketchup out of the little bowls. The staff were friendly with just the right amount of attentiveness. Yeah, great chips here and dark, yellow eggs! I mean, who wants those anaemic eggs that are pale and thin! Lovely service and clean premises too. Oh and did I mention the chips and eggs are great?!!

I liked this restaurant a lot, and it was one of the highlights of a trip to Broadstairs on which my spirits were vaguely low. But it cheered me up! I had fish and chips and it was very good and the portion sizes are huge.

Food was really very good. We had a started which unfortunately meant we seemed to have been forgotten about for our main meal as literally every single other table got their main meals before us as we sat waiting and watching. Seems they dropped a bollock with ours. Shame as otherwise it was very good and would go again.

Can’t praise enough. Top quality food and service, and that’s praise indeed as someone who’s diet is vegetarian!! Although my wife’s diet includes meat, she would also echo my high praises. This will always be our go to place whenever we visit Broadstairs.

As a local we eat here regularly. Quality is consistently good and staff are really friendly and helpful evidenced by it nearly always being full.

On a busy Saturday night in Broadstairs our efforts at finding somewhere to eat finally came good when Aqua 43 had a table. Service was quick although they were pretty busy and incredibly friendly. My scampi and chips were great, really fresh and a generous portion; the burgers my friends had also went down well. Also enjoyed the puddings. The prices were very reasonable - £54 for three mains, three alcoholic drinks and two puds. It's not a fancy restaurant, but the food is good and the atmosphere very welcoming. Recommended!

Food was exceptional and portions not too huge. Our order was fairly simple (2cod and chips, 2 gherkins, 2, ginger beers and mushy peas) but the waitress forgot our peas, gherkins and had to double check which drink we ordered so service was a bit slipshod. The food more than made up for her though. Would go back without doubt.

We got told to come here by someone who came to broadstairs last week and glad we did the portions was just right and fish was lovely and a great mixture of food to choose from!

On a trip to Broadstairs you really need to have fish and chips and Aqua 43 fitted the bill! Whilst we were waiting for our food to be freshly cooked a small queue formed outside of people eager to eat here. My friend, who is not easily pleased, could not believe the quality of the fish. My chips and mushy peas were a treat! Thank you to everyone at Aqua 43!

We went in here because gluten free has been mentioned, asked for gluten free menu and were told that chips were cooked in the same oil as everything else ....... and that was apoarently it as far as GF was concerned ........ so we left!

We were looking for some where to feed our children in Broadstairs and were advised to try this place. The menu is mainly British food - roasts, pies, fish - and cooked very well. The chips were especially nice. A good place to go if you fancy a change from chippys.

My boyfriend and I were by the sea and just happened to really fancy some fish and chips. We had a look around, checked online and decided to eat at Aqua 43.

I would recommend a visit for fresh fish or pick a tasty treat from the rest of the menu. Great range of desserts. Friendly efficient service. I enjoyed my food immensely and my partner enjoyed her fish dinner.

It was a second visit as we were very impressed the first time round. Lovely clean and friendly . Had fish and chips this time as it said local caught fish and homemade chips. The fish was really lovely but the chips were disappointing we were expecting chunky home made chips but it was a pile of bits and pieces. It was a late meal so perhaps it was because it was the end of the day.

We had fish and chips here on a day trip to sunny Broadstairs. Great tasting food, good size portions, including side dishes of garden peas and side salad. Pleasant feel to the place and friendly and helpful staff.

We are a party of 5 so not the easiest to find somewhere that has sufficient space and not squeezed onto a table of 4. They happily move the seating around to accommodate different size groups. The fish and chips are really good and one thing I like is that the tartar sauce is in a bottle on the table and not those horrible sachets.

We were on a day trip to Broadstairs and was looking for somewhere to eat. My son fancied an omelette but most places did not provide such a thing. Then we stumbled on Aqua 43 and omelette was on the menu. We sat down and were handed menus and the young lady (Amelia) wiped the table for us. We then placed our order and the food is cooked to order. Amelia was a friendly young lady and quick and efficient and soon bought us our drinks. The food followed looked and tasted very good and hot. Amelia checked everything was ok and all was fine. No complaints food and service very good. We will now have a place to visit next time

I took my father in to Aqua 43, we had a really lovely meal I had Scampi and Chips and my father had Cod and Chips. Definitely will be coming back again. A wonderful meal family friendly with excellent service. Highly recommended A*****

There is always a warm welcome at Aqua 43. The food is good wholesome seaside grub, cooked to order and served with a smile. If you are looking for a plaice for fish and chips, look no further than Aqua 43.

I went to Broadstairs wanting to get seaside fish & chips. The outside appearance of the restaurant made me think this would not be the type of restaurant (too upmarket) to serve this type of food. The menu told me differently so I ventured in.

We visited here with family on a bank holiday Monday in May19. We ordered adult portions of Fish and Chips (x3) and Sausage and chips / fish and chips (x1) from the children's menu.

Aqua is one of our favourites In Broadstairs. The food is always good (fish and chips exceptional) and service is prompt and friendly no matter how busy they are. Love the seaside theme of the restaurant. No wonder its so popular.

We ordered the Tart and Quiche from the 'specials' board. Both were shop bought and had been microwaved to death. The salad was limp and the new potatoes were gritty. No salad dressing or mayo were provided initially, just sachets of vinegar!

We had a lovely meal of fish and chips and scampi and chips. The waitress was friendly and even offered us the wifi details.Food delicious, fresh and hot. We will return on our next visit.
