I asked for small fish and chips for three and got large the paid £25 for the privilege. Not happy about that very expensive

The only downside was that the portions of fish were wrapped together and became stuck. They completely broke up when trying to separate them 😞. However, the food was hot, the chips very nice and good value for money. Maybe wrap the fish separately.

Absolutely disgusting!!!! I asked for a chicken kebab and all I got served was greasy chicken skin ... No chicken whatsoever just greasy chicken skin... I wouldn't even feed it my dog.... I loved this place it used to be amazing but I can't believe that Carlo thinks it's acceptable to serve his customers disgusting chicken skin!!!!

Staff very friendly, food very good.

Amazing find! The large cod was huge, the large sausage was large, the large portion of chips was plenty for 2 of us and the hand battered onion rings were amazing and so many of them we had plenty left over for seconds. Gravy and peas also great! Staff were very friendly and helpful and other customers obviously looked like regulars and very happy. Easy parking outside and amazingly good value for money. Would definitely use again. Very highly recommended!

Best fish and chips in Nottingham!!

Very regular to this chippy and even though his food is great his attitude stinks!!!! You'd think they'd be happy to have regular customers not roll there eyes and mutter look who's here again when you walk in then be rude when asked if they could make something that wasn't in the hot box.. Extremely disappointed and actually offended at his attitude 😔

This is a review for the Highbury Road, Bulwell Apollo fish bar. What can I say apart from exceptional. I ordered 2 haddock, chips and peas. The haddock was cooked whilst I was there and I had to wait and it was so so so worth the wait. I have never had such amazing fish from a fish and chip shop. It was so so fresh and the batter was amazing. The chips and peas were lovely. I have to go out of my way for this fish and chip shop and it’s not near my house, I was just passing but I would drive out the way now. Fabulous. Can’t fault it

I go here all the time, really nice staff, very tasty fish. The only thing I don't like is the baked beans are very strongly vinegar flavoured. I have also gotten food poisoning last time I ate food here, I can't confirm it was this places fish. Not going to stop going just from that one time though. I'll add that 5th star if I can go 3 months without issues. I'll take another couple off if it happens again.

Been twice in two weeks and the service as been below par , the first time I phoned my order for a fish to be cooked ready for when I got there but when I arrived was told he would cook it fresh , meaning I had to wait! The second time I ordered my meal in the shop but when I got the meal home I opened it to find gravy instead of curry sauce !

Chips decent, kebab not so good.

Delicious food with very generous portions. Staff are lovely. Used to be a pain they didn't have a card machine but now they have got one, there are no issues

Only eat chips but they were enjoyable

We always order multiple large fish, which they batter and cook fresh every time so it's all ready together. Never been disappointed, the only thing that goes to waste are a few of the mountain of chips you get. Great vfm, great service and my girls now don't call this a chippy, it's Apollo and better than any other local chippy and is the only one we go to.

It is a Fish and Chip Shop not far away had to go there mine is closed across road for holiday, used It before but still my own Highbury Fish Bar known him since 1999 at Highbury Fish Bar

We usually have a Battered Sausage, Chips + Mushy Peas/Curry Sauce. They are really very tasty and enjoyable. The Service is very good and extremely pleasant. in fact this Place is our Joint First Choice of Chip Shops.

Wow!! Enjoyed a lovely fish and chips last week. There was so much of it I felt bloated afterwards. Haddock was so gorgeous, but just a tad greasy with the Batter. Lovely scollop, which I saved for later due to being full for hours that evening. The scollop was also a bit oily, but I still wolfed it. Good staff and clean shop.

Food here is fab,also like it has you can ring and order food. The guys are great they always give extra food,highly rate Apollo fish bar 🍸 😋 👌 😀 👍

OMG... this place is amazing! I am terribly fussy in regards to chip shops. But this place is the best in bulwell by far! The value for money is incredible. The portion sizes are the best I have ever recieved from anywhere not sure how they make money! The service is great all the guys that work there are so friendly. Just moved to this area. Neighbours were telling me the chippy opposite Mcolls is the best, but the queue was 5 deep. I see why now. Ordered Donner kebab. Approx 3/4 hours later crippling stomach pains, was up most of the night and then followed by the uncontrollable diarrhoea. Had to call in sick to work as I didn’t want to get caught out

Chips very dry asked for a cod waited 10 minutes then the batter was like card board and the fish definitely not cod.

Had cod and chips the chips where cooked to profection and the fish was so nice. Staff very nice. 5 starts will be going again

The BEST fish & chip shop in the area. All the staff are so friendly & helpful. The portion sizes are generous and the food is great value. It is also one of the few places to sell a canned drink I like too!

Always excellent food and service, really nice to have gravy as not too many chip shops down south serve grave. Large selection of food & soft drinks & would recommend to everyone who enjoys a decent chippy.

I bought a small doner kebab with nan. The portion size is really good but it was in a tortilla wrap not a nan bread.

Goin down the pan . The chips shop used to be great but Recently they have employed new staff who get there english mixed up Becuase they give you the wrong order E.g curry sauce instead of peas The prices have gone up ridiculously but having waited 35 minuetes for chips becuase they served some stupid cow who wanted 18 cams of coke ! And the guy never appologised in all honesty they dont deserve the buisness i can safely say its better to just cook your own chips at home dont waste your time and money
