Aphrodite Taverna in City of London, Westminster

Been 10+ times over last couple of years. Pros: outdoor seating; dog and smoking friendly; great prices; friendly service; tasty hot pitta, humus, sausages, and salad. Cons: main course quality should be a lot better . Look forward to returning

I brought 18 guests with me to celebrate my 60th birthday . We had the meze as expected the food was really good and the portions were generous, the staff were friendly and attentive . Everyone of my guests loved the food and only complained that I had not brought them to it b4 .It truly is a jewel in a world of average Cypriot Greek and Turkish residents

As a Cypriot, I was a little skeptical to visit but it didn't disappoint. We had the mixed for 2, meat. It came with cold mezze, beautiful flavours, authentic. Dolmades. Pork plate with Halloumi. Kalamar and Karides (fresh king prawn) cooked to perfection as it should be! The final main came and we could barely eat it. Portions for the price were insane. Service on point. Great taste outside of Cyprus. The owner is such a great guy with a great story and a sense of humour. Sancerre bottle for 35, lagar under 4.50, homemade baklava with a seriously good liquor coffee. I'm not sure how others have rated lower but I suggest to go for the sharers (chefs specials). Will be back again for sure.

Typical Greek tavern in Notting Hill

We were served a wonderful selection of salads, halloumi was prepared beautifully, I don't know where they're getting their olives from but they're the best I've had in a long time. Had both the spit roast chicken and lamb, both were perfectly tender and incredibly flavoursome. Also, the Baklava deserves a mention, it was the perfect finisher. Such a great meal all round, will be back soon.

Delicious food! The only reason why I gave a 4/5 is because you can feel that some items are reheated understandable as slow cooked meat, for example, is supposed to be cooked slow, but still only to a luke warm temperature rather than being hot. Good flavours, and I love that they have a choice of smaller bottles of wine that I could share with my friends. I would eat here again.

Aphrodite is now my favourite restaurant in London! The food was absolutely delicious, with generous portions and great service and atmosphere. I will be revisiting and would recommend to everyone!

Excelente. Fuimos a comer tarde y no teníamos claro que nos fuesen a atender pero sí. El camarero muy amable, atento y agradable. La comida fue deliciosa. Hemos estado varias veces en Grecia pero no recordábamos haber disfrutado tanto de la comida griega. Volveremos 100% seguro!

This is an amazing place serving traditional food, I'd absolutely recommend it! Food is authentic and service is super friendly! The only downside is that it's really, really small. If you are lucky to get a table in the corner, you will be absolutely fine but if you sit in the middle you might have people bumping into you all the time

Zeer aangenaam klein familie restaurant met zeer vriendelijke bediening. Het eten is van goede kwaliteit, ruime porties, goede bijpassende wijn. Je voelt je er meteen thuis. Wil je zeker zijn van een tafeltje dan best even op voorhand reserveren

We were staying around the corner at the Phoenix Hotel and we already visited all the pubs that we liked and now wanted something different. We were delighted to find this Greek gem nestled among the other choices. We were seated and served immediately. Tasty appetizers, masterful main courses and for me, Baklava! (Of course) A family owned & run restaurant and We were also fortunate enough to participate in a birthday celebration with the family while we were there. What a joyful experience!

I had the pleasure of celebrating my friend's birthday at this charming family-run restaurant. The food was exceptional, and the service was outstanding. The cozy, homey atmosphere added to the overall experience. Although it was a special occasion for my friend, I am eager to return and would highly recommend this restaurant to others. A delightful dining experience overall!

Abbiamo mangiato meglio qui che in Grecia! 😍 Souvlaki che si scioglieva in bocca, kleftiko buonissimo e baklava indimenticabile. Personale gentilissimo e servizio perfetto... non è da tutti offrire antipasti e dolcetti. Bravi bravi bravi!

Abundant and top quality food. We went for the fish mezze. Delicious dishes served in sharing plates. The perfect place to go with friends. The restaurant is well located and the street is not crowded which makes the terrace to be enjoyable during a sunny day.

If I could move in, I would. Still the best Greek in London. Just had lunch there again today.

A great small chypriot greek restaurant in the Bayswater/Notting Hill district. Very friendly and efficient service. The foid was wonderful, especially the main dishes, two lamb specialties, both with tender and delicate tasting meat. Highly recommended

The service was good and the waiter really nice. Unfortunately we thought that the place wasn’t super clean (the tablecloth isn’t changed between customers for instance) and the tables were very packed (although I understand that Friday must be a very busy evening). The food was okay - the tzatziki very good, but the Greek salad quite bland. Really good location though as just few moments away from Notting Hill.

Nice traditional Greek/Cypriot taverna, went on a Saturday night it was full and very busy. Starters/dips in particular were very good and nicely presented. Probably best to go during week when perhaps a little quieter/less hectic..but overall a good experience and worth a visit.

An amazing restaurant which is incredible value for money. Delicious starters are served straight away including pita, olives and a bean salad. We shared the mixed grill and a small Greek salad which were heavenly. We live very locally and have been searching for a 'local go to' restaurant since moving here 3 years ago. We will definitely be frequent visitors now!

Great Greek spot with friendly and passionate owner and staff. Generous portions. Would definitely be back. Food has lots of flavour. The keftades were great and not too oily at all.

THE best greek cypriot food outside Cyprus! We have been repeat customers since the mid 90s and it has kept the authentic food experience for all those years. Highly recommend the meze, which is our go to meal every time we visit. Such a plethora of delights, the food is simply heavenly. And the big boss himself, Pantelis, makes everyone feel at home as soon as you step through the door. Can not recommend any higher!

Wonderful meal here last night! Great little restaurant with superb food, very nice wine and lovely service. The best meal we’ve had in London so far. And very reasonably priced, especially given the quality of the food too - can highly recommend.

Great Greek restaurant good price

It was ok. Authentic decor and menu.

It was a hot summer evening, we sat outside and drank retsina, then started on tamasalata, hummus and grilled cheese, finishing with lamb and sea bass. The place feels lively, with a constant traffic of people hoping for tables, one is almost lulled into thinking one’s on the harbour front on a Greek island. Staff and owner manager also extremely welcoming.

The food is simply amazing! Fair price and ideal service. Great place to meet friends!

Ordered the Meza share plate, how very disappointing, the meat was tough & dry, the dolmades were tasteless, the prawns & calamari were overcooked & tasteless. Definitely NOT worth the money. Very overpriced.

I came here for a birthday lunch and it felt like a mini break to Cyprus! The food was delicious, service was friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was cosy and authentic. I would definitely come again.

Food was amazing and staff were really friendly and welcoming! Amazing cozy atmosphere - we sat outside and the staff kindly offered to turn the heaters on for us. Indoors were cozy and homey, decorated with various Aphrodite themed decor. The mixed grill was a delectable mix of different meats - the herb sausage was definitely a highlight. The Melitzanosalata is a must-get - amazing when paired with warm pita bread.

Very cosy tavern and nice atmosphere, the owner and his family are very nice people and make you feel like a good friend invited you over for dinner. Food is absolutely amazing, probably the best greek food I've ever had. Went back second time with some more friends and they loved it too, will definitely be dining there often from now on.

Very cosy neighborhood Cypriot restaurant. The atmosphere was really lively and the service were hospitable. The starters were average quality and the lamb size and quality were really impressive for the size. Unfortunately moussaka was a little below average. My rating: 3.8
