Why did it take us so long to return? We live just five miles away so there's no excuse. But what an utter joy to return to Anthony's: Booked via FB a couple of days before (VERY quick response to my initial email) and turned up a little early to find the place reasonably full. Warmly welcomed by one of the bosses and she did remember us - a good sign. Ordered prawn cocktails starters (just about the best ANYWHERE), one scampi and one surf and turf. Weren't kept waiting long between courses and the quality of the cooking, the selection of vegetables and the presentation was utterly superb. These two courses were filling enough to deny us the chance of puddings - but there's always next time. And we won't be leaving it as long before the next visit!

We were recommended here for Sunday lunch, and wow it certainly didn't disappoint. An absolute gem of a find. The owners were so accommodating. We had the Roast Beef for Lunch and my son said "Sorry Mum but this is the best roast Beef I've ever had, and the roasties and the gravy". The meat literally was melt in your mouth. Portions so generous and André brought out extra roasties n Gray for my boy. The vegetables were plentiful and cooked beautifully, so much extra gravy. Delicious.Affordable and a lovely atmosphere. A real traditional good old fashioned pub. Wish there were more of these around. 100% recommend. Thank you Bev and André . 🙂

Firstly Bev is a great host, 6 of us had New Years Day lunch and it was perfect, great portion size and very tasty. Highly recommended. Thank you Bev and Husband.

One word - splendid - describes everything about Anthony's Hotel. While living locally we'd never been so between Christmas and New Year sent a Facebook message asking if they were open. Prompt reply said yes so we booked for two and popped down the following evening. From the start we couldn't have had a more warm welcome. The couple running the place know what hospitality means! The tables were VERY well laid, with menus on each and the dining area, bar and seating spotlessly clean. When we visited the decorations (tasteful I might add) were up. Ordered two prawn cocktails with mains of lasagne and chicken tikka. The prawn cocktails were utterly splendid, the mains equally so, and well-presented: good-sized portions of high-quality food on good plates. Come the bill the total, including one pint and tonic water, was just over £33. In all, excellent value in every respect. going back very soon!

Went for the second time last night lovely food and a great couple that run the place .Will be back as soon as I can , Bit sad a table didn't turn up and they other people wanted a table ,if you know you won't turn up phone early so they can use the table for someone else . Very nice, welcoming, out of the way place, we went early on a Wednesday evening so had it to ourselves. This suited us, but we didn't want for good conversation! Andre the chef came out for a chat, what a nice interesting man. Food was lovely, from a good menu. I bet their Sunday lunch is fantastic. We're planning a return trip to Kidwelly next year, we'll definitely go there again. And if you want a nice after dinner walk, Kidwelly Quay is a step over the level crossing. We got there just as the sun was setting, fantastic red sky, saw bats skimming the water and listened to Oystercatchers and Curlews calling from the opposite bank and in the reeds. Wonderful evening.

We visited here last night after moving to the area recently. We only found this place by chance visiting kidwelly quay, so we decided to book. Anthony's is a lovely small welcoming pub. Considering we had never visited before we were had to feel very comfortable. Two of us had the sneak and rib, one of us had a lamb burger and the other had creamy chicken with garlic and herb. All of us were more than satisfied, the portions were large and everything tasted amazing. The prices are more than reasonable and would recommend anyone and everyone to visit, we can't wait to go back for another visit and try the rest of the menu!

Heard some reviews about this place so we thought we give it a go and we are so glad we did.The place itself is quite small but that's to the ambience of it.The food was absolutely amazing and filling which was a pity really because I did fancy some of the desserts as well.The woman behind the bar was lovely and I think she was probably the owner.Would definitely recommend this place to anyone and as soon as I get my next weekend off I be booking again...They don't except cards only cash but that was explained when I booked

Really glad we came for Sunday dinner. The meat was delicious and loads of Veg and Gravy. Lovely old style pub setting, 5 star food hygiene rating and really good size portions / value for money and really friendly staff. I would recommend. Also, nice to support local businesses.

We stumbled across this place when we were out walking, so we decided to book for the friday evening. The portions are massive so no starter next time. Food was very nice. The only downside is that you have to pay in cash which most people don't do nowdays due to covid.

We've just got home after our first visit to your pub for 40 years. The welcome was warm and cordial and the restaurant was covid safe. Our Sunday lunch was hot and tasty. Unfortunately, owing to the portion size of the main meal, we had no room for one of your puddings, which we will try on our next visit. We will definitely be back, thank you.

My wife and daughter went twice this week and it was ace. Its a proper pub with proper food and I am loving Welsh beer again after a very nasty experience in 2006.

Just been with my family for a superb Sunday lunch the meat was so so tender fab selection of 7 veg all fresh fantastic roast potatoes excellent service staff very friendly and helpful next time in kidwelly will call in for dinner

Sizzler Steak to die for. Home away from home. Service friendly and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. Only wish it was closer to where we live in Warwickshire.

Been going here for years always brilliant spot on food served,never had a bad meal or drink.Landlord and Landlady & family always perfect hosts!

Visit this pub on a regular basis and have never been let down.Steaks are amazing and the best i have ever had, often take friend and family who visit for food, and everyone leaves impressed.sometimes you have to wait a little but you are always informed if this is the case, we never mind this as the food is always cooked to order.My Partner is a fan of real ale and is often critical if the beer is not up to scratch, however he maintains he always gets a good pint here.Bev,and Andre are the hosts who are helped by there two children and the family always aims to give great customer service in all areas.Worth a visit, but call first to avoid disappointment.

El personal de este negocio familiar es muy amable e incluso cuando extremadamente ocupados siempre encontrar tiempo para saludar y hora todo está bien. una amplia selección de comida a un precio razonable y las bebidas tienen un precio razonable. suele estar ocupado y recomiendo reservar para evitar decepciones, pero eso lo dice todo cuando no se puede ir sin reserva.

Nos recomendaron este pub de la recepcionista en nuestro parque de vacaciones. La comida y el servicio era increíble! fue una gran noche, si había un esperar para la comida no vimos y si había la comida estaba bien vale la pena la espera. Los anfitriones eran increíbles tan amable y acogedor. Si no ve a este restaurante, entonces usted será el que está perdiendo!

My wife and I have eaten here many times over the years of holidaying in the area and the food and service have always been very good.

Overpriced poor food, Celtic pride steak? must be a joke. long wait. The entire meal took over two hours. Slept well! Won't be eating here again. Which is a shame as its a nice little pub with nice staff.
