A huge thank you to the Angel Bar and Grill for making my husband's secret 70th birthday party so special. The conservatory was perfect for our 35+ guests and the buffet was great and plenty of it. Several guests remarked on how lovely the food was. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Would definitely recommend for any parties or special celebrations.

Pleasant atmosphere and friendly servers. Too few staff and took a very long time between meals. I am gluten free and the first course came with just pate and an apology they don't have any gf bread despite ordering and confirming prior, sent that straight back for no refund! Main course was just lacking many items to keep it gf, nice but not high cuisine, lots of potatoes and a few veg, no replacement for Yorkshire, stuffing or pigs in blankets. Desert was lovely although my wife had a chocolate Irish cream desert with no Irish cream and gone off maltesers. Overpriced but expected for a luxury Xmas dinner, missed the mark on the luxury. Oh and instant decaf was the only coffee!?

Well I don’t know where to start. I haven’t been here in about 2 years and the new owners have certainly got the pub amazing! The atmosphere and the vibes everything about it was amazing! So I went for steak and it was far better than miller and carter. The young lady who served me was so polite professional and made sure we had everything we needed! I honestly can’t wait to come back 12/10 xxxx

We celebrated our daughters 21st birthday last night in the Angel and ordered the cold buffet option. The food was amazing and plentiful, the staff were very helpful.

Had the Mulberry lounge for a 50th party. Lovely room, nice touches by the owner lending me a cake stand and giving us free cream to go with the birthday cake. Meals for 35 people all came out at the same time, lovely service. Everyone happy with their meals, all looked fab and lots of comments on how reasonable the food was for the quality. Left us too it with our music and we could stay until 12 which was great. Really great place for a party and I can’t wait to go back to try a steak cos they looked lush. Apologies for leaving a bit of a mess, I got picked up more quickly than I expected and I didn’t want to chance walking home so had to go. Thanks again 😊

After being let down by another venue at short notice the Angel were able to accommodate our party. The staff were really helpful and friendly. Delicious food and plenty of it. We had the premium buffet for 30 people, a great selection of food also catering for vegans and vegetarians. Would highly recommend the Angel.

Lovely pub avoid parking in the side street below If the car park is full, the locals come out with the pitch forks and cause a massive scene! Got shouted at and profanities thrown at us by a resident and then verbally abused buy what I can only describe as the local druggie! Not the best start.

The Angel Bar & Grill is the perfect venue for a family gathering. We hired the Mulberry Room for our son’s 18th birthday and were very impressed with the whole service. Beautifully decorated room, delicious cold buffet, and excellent service. Would highly recommend this venue.

Visited the Angel for a family Sunday lunch was not disappointed. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, we all had Sunday lunch which was a high quality the portions are very generous. Would not hesitate to visit again. Lovely atmosphere.

Eight of us enjoyed a nice lunch at the Angel. We had pre-ordered and communication prior to the day was good. I was a bit concerned that we might sit down and have to eat straightaway but this was not the case. We had time to chat and catch up. Food was good and service was excellent. We booked the Angel for 25 people for a family celebration. Communication was prompt prior to the evening. On arrival the conservatory was set up for us all to sit together. The meals arrived quickly and the food was to a good standard. Service during the evening was fantastic and nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend for a large group of people. We will be returning thank you.

Popped in for a quick lunch before the rugby and again, the wife and I had a fantastic meal. We were also in the weekend before, my wife had the lasagne, I had scampi, but this time I had to give the lasagne a try as it looked so good the week before. It was tremendous, obviously freshly cooked and tasted great. I honestly can't recommend this place enough, whether it's a light snack, or a full on meal, you won't be disappointed. I think the photo says it all! Here's to the next one!

Delicious food, excellent service. We will definitely eat here again. The pub was really busy, and the staff informed us there may be a delay, but to be honest if there was, we didn't notice. Lovely atmosphere.

My wife and I, along with my sister-in-law and brother-in-law had food on Friday evening and have to say, it was incredible. 3 of us had the sirloin steak, my wife had the beef bourguignon (we also had starters). If you haven't been here before, I definitely recommend it. Sean/Shaun and his family are great, the service there is always second to none. It's not the first time we've eaten at the Angel and it won't be the last. My wife and I also popped in yesterday for Sunday dinner and it was fantastic, again service great as always and the food was quality. I've been a regular here for many years, but lately it's almost become our second home. Can't recommend the place highly enough. See you all again soon!

Absolutely amazing!! Food,top quality (reasonable in price and decent in portions),the Sunday lunch is amazing,beer excellent, good choice ranging from a good draught selection through to bottles. Friendly staff who are up for a bit of banter! Would recommend booking a table though as the pub can be very busy, its not the biggest eating area but its just right!! Pool table and jukebox in separate bar area which is perfect if your going there for food and not hearing pool balls smashing around! Car park on site, capable of 20 cars (if people park properly) disabled access is good from both sides of the pub. Have been here a couple of times, normally in a large group and have not been let down yet!! Well worth a visit. 10 out 10!!

Went for Sun lunch after rave reviews from friends. What a lovely place, but freezing cold when we sat down at 12.45. Our starters were very nice, lamb & beef very tasty & tender, far too much veg, roast potatoes hard as nails, but cold plates & warmish gravy spoilt it. Will return to try their evening menu. What a lovely place, the staff were friendly and the decor is very nice. A great improvement on what the Angel used to be like. Everywhere was clean, even the toilets, and the place just felt like you wanted to be there. The food was good, the steak was a little over done for my taste and the chips a little under, but the onion rings were fantastic and the steak sauce I had was sublime. To give the angel less than 4 stars would be a sin, but it wasnt quite heavenly.

Shocking place.. can't even bothered to explain how they messed my misses birthday up. Staff are friendly, but seems to be the bar owner/landlord rather looks after himself before customers.

My mum and I had a Sunday lunch here today - we both had the brie to start (which was delicious), and followed that with the beef dinner (me) and the lamb dinner (my mum) - excellent on both counts. I'm not leaving a review for dessert as the portion size for lunch was large enough that neither of us could physically eat anything more! I'll definitely be recommending to friends and family, and coming back here myself.

Visited the Angel Bar and Grill for food at lunch time on a Thursday afternoon. Food was outstanding and the service from Ben and the team was great. Been going to the venue for years and will continue to do so because it's one of the best places around for both quality food and a few chilled out drinks.

Great that the Angel have decided to open back up for outdoor dining and have lots of seating available. The new app ordering is a welcoming new touch however may be difficult for some to navigate. Might be better to have the QR codes on the tables rather than having to go through Facebook. The conservatory extension with bifolding doors is we sat. The evening did get quite cold as there are not heaters provided. I brought a blanket with me. They are serving food and drink in take away containers and cutlery is is disposable wooden knives and forks (bring your own if you order food that needs cutting). The food was lovely, tasty and huge portions the new chef is a welcome change. Will be returning.

Myself and my wife had a lovely meal at the Angel this even. Homemade chips and a very tasty burger. Can’t fault the standard of the food and the service was excellent very attentive without being intrusive and so polite and helpful. It’s a must place to go for a night out.

Have been here many times with the family (children are fussy eaters) and we have always had amazing food, not a scrap is left. The sharing boards are huge and recommended if your hungry.

My husband and I enjoyed a lovely afternoon lunch at the Angel yesterday, (Friday 2nd Oct)We both ordered steak and they were perfectly cooked to our preference, and the presentation of the whole meal looked as good as it tasted. I loved the chefs use of pea-shoots instead of peas and the little button mushrooms were so nice, they weren’t greasy like you can sometimes get at other restaurants. The chips were proper chunky home cooked, not the frozen type, which just made the meal Just perfect.The service was amazing throughout our visit by Vicky who was welcoming and friendly - always smiling even when having to wear the protection mask whilst working. (one thing the wearing of masks has taught us, is a genuine happy smile shows in the persons eyes.) Due to our unfortunate current situation with C/19, it’s been hard for all pubs and restaurants to stay open and protect themselves as well as all their customers, by having to set rules and procedures that must be followed. I have walked out of some establishments after witnessing unprofessional and intimidating behavior from the staff towards their customers by pouncing on them as soon as they get through the door and when explaining the Covid protocol rules. First impressions do really count!Vicky at the Angel is a credit to the proprietors, it was such a pleasure to be greeted on our arrival, shown to our table and served by friendly and helpful staff, who actually explained the Covid safety protocol in a kind, calm and caring professional manner, putting us at ease immediately. I highly recommend giving the Angel a visit for a meal & drinks. I just couldn’t fault it, even the gentle background music was just perfect. The decor is so welcoming, cosy and warming. (I want one of those lights hanging in the conservatory area wow )Fabulous afternoon definitely 5 rating. We will be back for more soon.

I have been going here since I remember and have never witnessed something! A blonde girl by the name of Katy? Or Caitlin? She was just horrible and very snooty towards me and my husband. Will not be coming again, you have lost a customer for good.

You can get any better, we ordered prawns and pate for starters two steaks one with garlic mushrooms and one with bernaise sauce and both were unbeatable

Just visited for a family evening out. Food was cracking. Service great. The measures and controls in place during the Local Covid lockdown made for a relaxed safe atmosphere. Encouraging to see you turn away two couples who turned up together...... possibly looking to sit down and eat together.. We will be booking again based on this evening's experience.

It’s been a while since we’ve eaten at the Angel but we will be making more regular visits going forward. The COVID protocols were strictly adhered to with all the staff wearing masks. Plenty of choice on the menu. I had the ribeye steak, the wife had a “dirty burger” which was at least 6” high, daughter had lamb chops and son had spaghetti bolognese. All of of us were more happy with our food which was plentiful. The staff were attentive, keeping us topped up with drinks. To sum up, it was a great night, food was well cooked and presented, nice atmosphere. Well done Angel. We will see you again soon.
