Place is always alive and the food never disappoints

The cuisines were delicious and the staff are courteous, helpful and respectful, however, the atmosphere was much noisier than expected. At times, it looked more like an orphanage than a restaurant. The restaurant management should advise Asians families to groom their children so that they realise they are no more in a village to run around and make loud noises. If the diners become considerate, then, Aneesa can become one of the best restaurants in the North East.

Lots to choose from great for the whole family venue was clean staff were great and the food was good 👍🏻

If I could even put no stars I would, we came in celebrating our Eid with 12 lads and the customer service was stinking total unfairness let other people in in our face but offered no help to us what so ever and told us to wait till 10 o clock when there was big tables empty, not recommended at all absolutely disgusted.

Marie on the desserts was lovely and all the staff were helpful and chatty, we loved the golab jamun and the naans, sweet and sour chicken wasn’t for me, watery

Had a lovely meal at the restaurant! I was worried that at 4pm booking, just as it opened, would mean reheated food from the day before but I was wrong! The food was fresh, hot and tasty! The staff were attentive and polite Desouza, the deputy manager and Muhammad, the floor manager, were both engaging and lovely! Would definitely consider visiting again if I was local!

Best buffet in Newcastle I would say(Though I’ve only been to Cosmo, Buffet King at Metro Centre and China Cook in Blyth). The staff were very welcoming, and the quality of the food was very high and amazing. I usually don’t expect ice cream at buffets to be good, but even the desserts were fantastic - ice cream was so creamy and fresh! The Indian style puddings were great too. I personally really liked chicken achari, palak paneer, chickpea curry and biryani. It’s full of spices and umami. I found curry such as korma and chicken tikka too sweet.

First people in at 4pm, opening. Table was dirty, food tasted boiled/sweaty like it had been sat under steam for so long, it was tasteless. It was freezing inside also, Definitely dont reccomend and i Definitely wont ever go back.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Aneesa's Buffet, and it was truly a delightful experience. The variety and taste of the dishes were outstanding, offering a culinary journey through diverse flavors. However, what truly elevated my experience were the exceptional staff members, Muhammad and Abdul. Their warm hospitality and attentive service added an extra layer of enjoyment to the meal. An amazing experience every time we visit. The staff are always attentive and extremely polite. The food is delicious. The atmosphere is great. I would highly recommend visiting, you will not be disappointed! A special mention to Bachir on the grill and Abdul on the floor who were great! Also, De Souza the manager who is always welcoming and provides excellent customer service.

The food was amazing, the staff were excellent, especially Bachmir on the Grills, he did a wonderful job.Duty manager - De Souza was welcoming and very friendly. We will 100% be returning again.

Reasonably priced (19.99pp) Lots of gluten free options (all well labelled) Currys were a bit bland. Not many gluten free dessert options. The server at the dessert window was extremely rude. There was a qué, but her tone, manners and communication was short, sharp and unhelpful.

First time in the place and we where very impressed from start to finish .. When we arrived we was show where everything was staters mains deserts etc and also the servers recommendations. The duty manager De Souza introduced himself and made sure was was ok and had a little chat , at the end he brought us a desert to try and guess what it was , nice bit of fun and we'd still be guessing now 2 days later .. The food itself was all fresh and of good quality. The starters were really impressive. The venue itself was spotless. My only addition would be try to Offer a re fill option on drinks to try save on cost for customers.

We visited Aneesa’s for my birthday and I didn’t know my husband had told the restaurant it was my birthday, so it was both a shock and a surprise when the staff came out singing Happy Birthday with a delicious chocolate cake and a birthday card, they then took our picture and printed it for us. De Souza, the Duty Manager, was polite, friendly and funny and the waiting staff were lovely. The food was absolutely beautiful, the variety is fantastic and we are already looking at booking our next visit for our daughter’s birthday next.

Amazing restaurant with a wide variety of dishes all fresh and tasty. Amazing atmosphere with very helpful and friendly staff. Duty manager de Souza made our visit very enjoyable ensuring everything was up to standard and also recommended the carrot dessert special which was lovely.

Great night at Aneesa's beautiful food. My husband loved the lamb dishes etc and I am vegetarian, plenty for us both. Carrot pudding was amazing. 1st time there and the staff were very helpful. De Souza Duty Manager brilliant we had a good laugh with him. Great night.

I’ve been to this restaurant for Iftar in Ramadan. I enjoyed eating in, the stuff are very nice, food and desserts are delicious.

A warm welcome when I arrived & got a good table quickly & easily. Clear information given immediately as to what dishes were where. The buffet was EXCELLENT - plenty of choices all expertly cooked with fresh ingredients. Delicious & tasty. The atmosphere was very good too: melodic Indian non-intrusive music played throughout (apart from a round of Happy Birthday to you!!). This restaurant is great & when I next go to Newcastle I'll certainly revisit.

AVOID Aneesa for any events such as weddings and functions. We held our wedding function at Aneesa - Big mistake. There was a fundamental lack of communication between the organisers and the people in charge of running the event on the day. The staff on the day did not provide a quality service and instead gave the impression that they couldn’t wait to go home after providing what turned out to be an incredibly rushed service for a small wedding of only 80 guests. When feedback was provided to Aneesa regarding the day, the response received from both Aneesa and Pav was inadequate, unprofessional lacked common courtesy and any accountability. This is highly unusual coming from an establishment in which hospitality should be their strength. Aneesa did not take constructive criticism onboard, and we suspect that this poor service will continue in the future with more victims that have paid a large sum to Aneesa for their big wedding day for which they have saved much of their life for. Despite the many failures experienced on the day, they key ones we were disappointed by are: 1) Aneesa promised we would have access to a microphone which we intended to use to inform the guests where they needed to be and to conduct the religious ceremony. This promise was unfulfilled which meant that guests could not participate in the ceremony which was supposed to be the highlight of the day. 2) Aneesa promised we would be able to choose the songs for the day including the songs for both the bride and grooms’ entrance. We were informed that we should have the songs on a USB stick which could be selected on the day. Again, another promise unfulfilled as Aneesa staff informed us on the day of the wedding that the USB could not be used. 3) Many guests complained that within 10-15 minutes of eating, their plate full of food was taken away from them whilst they were eating from the plate. Guests also complained that their mocktails and drinks which they hadn’t even tasted were being removed from them by the waiting staff. 4) We purchased the chocolate fountain as an extra with cakes and fruit for guests to consume. The promise that there would be sufficient amounts of fruit and cake which would be topped up throughout the day for the chocolate fountain did not deliver. There was only a small amount of fruit and cake provided and this was not topped up by Aneesa as the day went on. The chocolate fountain was running with absolutely nothing to dip in the chocolate for many of the guests. 5) Another extra which was purchased were the canapes. When bride and groom questioned Aneesa staff on tasting the canapes on the day, they were informed by Aneesa staff that the majority of canapes were thrown away in the bin 20 minutes into the event. This resulted in most guests not having tried one and was essentially wasted money. Again, I don’t expect Aneesa to respond to this review in a constructive manner as they are absolutely unwilling to demonstrate any accountability and candour in their approach to constructive criticism. I just hope this review serves as a warning to anyone who intends on using Aneesa services for weddings, events, and banqueting.

We have visited Aneesa's multiple times and always receive the warmest welcome from staff, especially De Souza. He has a fantastic sense of humour and goes above and beyond. He always spares time to talk to the children as well. The food was as exceptional...

Beautiful fresh hot foot. So much choice. We were made to feel so welcome as soon as we walked thought the door. The duty manager gave great advice on his recommendations.

Found this restaurant by accident after walking around the Quayside during the day so we decided to go on the Saturday evening of our weekend break. The choice on offer was staggering and all the dishes we tried were tasty & hot; they were all covered to keep the food hot, which I liked, and appeared to be regularly replaced when almost empty. They mainly do Indian food but also had Chinese, pizzas & chips on offer. The deserts looked nice but sadly we were too full to try. The staff took your plate away when you'd eaten so you needed a clean one for the next round of food. We hadn't booked but ate early so it wasn't too busy when we first arrived but a fair few tables were taken; by the time we left it was fairly full so my advice is probably book for a Friday/Saturday evening.

Just had the pleasure of dining at Aneesa's. Not a massive fan of all you can eat, as quantity normaly takes precedence over quality. Not here though. Ebrything I chose was excellent. Didn't try the chinese or pizza as that wasn't what I was after. From the starters, through the mains and onto the desert. All were great. Some of the best authentic Indian food served here. A little pricy since you won't be able to taste all the various types of starters and mains. The desserts are absolutely the best. But do watch your weight. Should come with a health warning.

Came down to Aneesa’s for the first time this evening having past by with my Mrs numerous times. We heard nothing but good things about this place from friends all over the country. Being from Yorkshire ourselves we thought we’d give it a go and see how it is. I was absolutely amazed from the first moment I stepped through the door at how brilliant the service was, we were immediately greeted by the Manager, Mr De Souza, who kindly introduced us to the restaurant and how things were, he recommended the Chicken Tikka and also asked that we try everything on the menu. My god, we were not disappointed!! The food was absolutely amazing would definitely recommend their Incredible Hulk mocktail too. I would give the overall rating a 10/10 the food was sublime and I would like to send a special message to Bashir on the grill who worked so hard this evening and cooked the meat to perfection. Amazing restaurant, I was in Newcastle in January with my wife and son, we visited this place repeatedly because of the food and environment. My D'Souza who is the manager is always courteous. I'm back in town for couple of days, and decided to visit it again before I leave. If there were more than 5 stars, I would give that to this place.

Very popular restaurant, a mix of feelings. Firstly, I must highlight the variety and quality of the dishes offered, which were generally satisfying. The restaurant's ambiance is welcoming, and the service was courteous. However, my experience was somewhat dampened by the fact that many dishes were not too great in taste towards the cravings .Unfortunately the spice levels were not matched and the essence of the dish is lacking its soul. The non-spicy dishes were undoubtedly the highlight of the meal. Tasty, well-prepared, and visually appealing, these options made up for the limitation imposed by my personal preference. Traditional dishes were well-executed, and the variety of choices was notable. The customer service deserves praise for its efficiency and friendliness, providing a pleasant experience in terms of service.

Wasn't quite sure what to expect here... My son and his girlfriend had been before and said it was good so off we went. We had a table booked for 6.30, We parked in the multi storey right next door... it wasn't too crowded when we got there but still quite a few people in. We were greeted by a very friendly member of staff and were taken to our table. We were asked if we wanted drinks which we did, they were quite expensive but they all are these days... We went for the free water with ice from the machine after that. Aneesa's is predominately an Indian buffet so you would expect lots of Indian dishes, which there were but I was not expecting to see Chinese and pizza on offer. I had chicken tikka with side salad to start with some kofta kebab thrown in for good measure... it was delicious... For my main I had Chicken Madras with tandoori rice and Bombay potatoes, Keema nan. That was enough for me, my son did manage another plate... There were too many dishes of curry to count, definitely something for everyone. Too many deserts to mention, I tried the apple crumble with ice cream and the Gulab, they were delicious. Overall a very good experience, I would definitely go back. The staff are friendly and efficient, nice atmosphere and great Indian food, who could ask for anything more... The price... for 3 of us with 3 drinks came in at £84 not too bad for a Sat night, it is cheaper during the week, best to checkout their website. If you do go best to book a table as they can get quite busy, by the time we left there were about 20 people waiting for tables.

The food is excellent , I would highly recommend the starters , and curry’s with meat on the bone tend to be the best option . It’s a buffet so you have a good selection , there would be something for everyones taste. Now the downside here is there seems to be a issue with a serious lack of ventilation, as you walk through the door you can see a cloud of smoke in the air , the result is basically that you walk out of the restaurant and all of your clothes are stinking of cooking , to be more specific of curry ! , which is not very pleasant and is a big downside to me for this place . As all my clothes need washing or dry cleaning afterwards, otherwise I smell like a curry house .

Visited again for a family birthday meal. Manager and staff clearly very hard working but always polite and helpful. The place is very clean, organised and food is labelled clearly. Staff were more than happy with us bringing our own birthday cake and even brought it out with a birthday song. You could tell everyone there was having a great time. The atmosphere was buzzing! My one and only criticism is that the restaurant was unbearably hot last night, so much so that we went through alot of iced drinks and had to keep popping out for fresh air. I'd suggest staff opening one of the main doors during really busy hours or perhaps invest in air conditioning. Other than that, I'd really highly recommend this place to anyone! A credit to Newcastle! We will be back in a few weeks!

Amazing food been coming here for years however the major downside is having to ask for dessert now and not being able to help yourself i feel like this takes the experience away as you feel limited having to ask multiple times and isnt that great for people with anxiety. I get food waste could be an issue leading to this change but i think there are plenty other alternatives like extra charge for waste so that everyone can have the full experience

There was a good selection of food, up to a high quality, and the vibes were really fun and atmospheric! However, my experience was soured by the hijabi lady running the dessert stand - it was a Tuesday night. She didn't smile back when I smiled and said hi but rather seemed to have a fixed scowl on her face; she didn't even deign to speak to me. She dished out the dessert quickly and carelessly without bothering to listen to my requests and packed up the rest of the desserts for the day when it was obvious I was returning for seconds. She was, quite frankly, rude. I understand that people have their off days from time to time but this was absolutely horrible service and it was unacceptable. I'm coming to a restaurant to have a nice experience, not to feel like I'm an annoyance to the workers when all I do is ask for dessert and smile. All I'm asking for is the bare minimum.
