Anar Turkish BBQ Restaurant in Liverpool

Would like a moment to say my experience in Anar. We where served by a lady called Razia and by far the best service. She was so friendly and polite. Food was amazing but most importantlay in a restaurant service is most important in my opinion. Thank you razia we will be coming back just because of you.

It is a family restaurant with great food

The food was raw meat the staff was not nice and polite they were aggressive while complaining about the food do not recommend and very expensive

Was really excited to try this place, went with 3 of my friends on a busy Friday night. Overall it was a very pleasant experience, staff were great, atmosphere was upbeat and lively, I just thought although the food was good, it wasn't quite as good as previous Turkish restaurants I've been to. Don't get me wrong it wasn't bad in any way shape or form, just personal preference I think. That being said I wouldn't hesitate going back to Anar as I had a perfectly good experience.

Amazing food, great service me and my family always visit this restaurant every big event because of how great this place is. I recommend the Meat Sarma 😍.

Food not nice packed out with cheapest meat mainly breast of lamb ??? and bony chicken rice tasted greasy and nasty wraps . However the coffee was nice

Anar is a great choice for anyone looking to enjoy delicious Turkish cuisine in a welcoming and comfortable environment.

I’m going to be honest the food are delicious and testy but for the price and the meal it’s too expensive and only few pieces of bbq. The service is good but we not going there anymore because they charged us £15 service charge over our bill just because we were 2 families together, even we called in the afternoon and booked table in advance for the dinner . MAKE SURE YOU ASK BEFORE YOU GO AS GROUP they just charge you over ur bill .

We really enjoyed our meals today. Four of us had different meals, and all were great. This is the second time we have eaten here, but the last time was pre COVID, so it was nice to be back. Having been going to Turkey for over 20 years I have to say the food here is every bit as good as being in Turkey, just wish we could have the same weather 🤗

By far the best Turkish restaurant in Liverpool, this is a must try place when visiting Liverpool food is absolutely unreal

The food was delicious and the atmosphere was cosy however the chairs were a little dirty. The prices were pretty good however a certain waiter was a little snarky but otherwise everything was great.

Anar on (Prescot Road)is my go to place for Turkish food. Absolutely delicious food.

Visited the restaurant alone just to have a quick nice lunch, as my friend suggested that i try the food there. However what i received as a customer was rude and unpleasant. I choose the "smallest table" (1) almost 50% of the restaurant was still free for many other new customers to be welcomed. So the waitress came to my table even before i check out the menu or do anything, started saying ""you only have 1 hour"" and i was like sorry sir? How do tell customers what time they have and explained to him how to treat customers. And they are not supposed to talk anything about time and they should feel welcomed, not because i was alone! My plan was to eat my lunch and go back home as i live near the restaurant so wither this take an hour or more its not their choice. The waitress started saying why are you angry and each time he asked that i explained everything and also told him he can’t run a business and im not eating anymore and yes i would rather spend the 30£ in another restaurant than this type of behavior. Sadly, his argument was many customers come and pay over 300£ which is sad to hear. But he started saying this after i told him i will never come back and you weren’t supposed to tell me you have 1 hour its not a go kart business its A RESTAURANT. Ps: im not hating on the food, or the chief or the rest of the waiters. it was only that one and i dont think all waitresses treat customers the same.

A good restaurant where you can enjoy Turkish food. The negative point would be that they should clean the chairs upholstery.

The best restaurant I've experienced for a long time. Food was absolutely brilliant. Staff are very attentive and friendly. They are very organised and checking you are ok. And the place is just a really pleasant place to spend time with comfortable seating and great music. If you go you will not regret it.

I never been bad turkish restaurant like this restaurant, we i asked for mixed kebab but they brought chicken and lamb shish , the rice was 2 days old smell was rubbish , it was my first time and will be last time to visit !

We just get in ( gropup of 14), but table was sort ot out straght away and service was fast and accurate. Portions are very good and food well prepared and tasty. Defo recomend it. Prices are reasonable. Given 4 stars for atmosphere , coz if you go with your kidous there its not much they can do till you enjoy you meal.

Nice Turkish grill restaurant. Prices and variety of options on menu was good. Popped in and no booking needed, restaurant was really busy, clearly a very popular place. The Service is fast, customer service was so-so. But overall the food was good and portion sizes was generous. Would recommend and would come back again.

Very disappointing. First I was told I could choose where to sit. As I was about to sit down, I can only assume it was the manager that said I could not sit where I had chosen. We were then moved between two tables I had hoped to avoid. There is no room at the smaller tables for a handbag. We were placed by the window which had a cold draft. I swapped places with my friend in the hope of getting away from the draft but this came under the table. And I had to sit with my coat and scarf on my legs. I had noticed the restaurant was quite cold, so that is why I had chosen the table in front of the grill, only to be told to move… The food was a huge let down even with the poor service and atmosphere I thought I would at least get a good meal. The starters arrived after some time. The calamari was totally overdone and no lemon wedge was served. It was like chewing rubber. The garlic mushrooms were quite bland and the sauce was very thin. The lamb shish was very small and again overcooked. You could chew on it all day like cowboys. The rice was vile, neither my friend nor I touched it after one mouthful. My friend said his mixed was also overdone and dry. Portions are small. Service is awful. They served our mains before we finished our starters and then left our starter plates on the minute table for us to struggle with room. No check backs were done. We did order Turkish tea but they forgot about us. There are TVs in the restaurant, something I personally dislike but I know that it is popular with some. Lots of noise made for birthdays of which there appeared to be many in midweek early December. I would not return and definitely not recommend. There are much better restaurants in liverpool worth the drive. Staff are just rude.

Overall very nice place to eat. Food was delicious , service was great. Only small negative water started dripping a few places from the roof (It was raining quite heavy)

Wonderful staff, good food, and a nice warm place even during the colder months! Pricing is pretty reasonable and toilets were clean. I got the chicken wings and rice and missus got the Sarma which is ideal if you like cheese. Best of all, they have their own parking right outside the restaurant and there were still spaces left when it was really busy inside. Would really recommend and would visit again.

Was taken here by friends and had a lovely meal. The staff were very friendly. There were several birthday parties and out came the drums and staff clapping and singing creating a lovely atmosphere for party goers.

Turkish authentic food from Liverpool. Tea and coffee was nice. I had chicken biryani.my partner took Sarma food and it was awesome.

Had a breakfast for 2 people 29.99+14.99£(For extra person) which we asked for 3 people that’s absolutely ok. Portions came as for 2 person and was not satisfied. Servis was bad. Staff was not smiling also was not looking after. Asked for 2nd tea pot and charged for 7£ extra which they could offer maybe smaller than tea pot for the 3rd person. Normally 1 tea pot for 2 person price. Chairs low for the tables. Guests sits uncomfortably at the table for eat. Overall was not good experience. Won’t be recommended. Thanks for reading.

The phrase "Turkish restaurant" should be removed immediately. No Turkish restaurant could be this rudeness.

We went to Anar with a Group of friend coming from a long distance. But we felt like we were not welcomed, when we first entered the restaurant. The staff was just only looking as if they have never seen a group of hijabi Turkish women having a meal together. The person in front of main area whom I suppose a boss, did not even say “Welcome” .

The place where we had dinner in Liverpool with a group of friends on Sunday evening, November 26th 2023. The menu was delicious and quality, but the hospitality was terrible and poor. It was not a good restaurant experience for those who came from a different city like us to tour the city in Liverpool. Unlike traditional Turkish restaurants, they did not even serve Turkish tea... I do not recommend it.

Great service. Our order got messed up (minor misunderstanding) but the manager was understanding. Had a blast and i enjoyed celebrating my birthday with fam. Will definitely recommend to others and come back .wine was top tier. Clean bathrooms as well. Environment was chilled and relaxed. Delicious food and random drum banging that got us dancing in our seats😂😂😂

We had a good time here, all kinds of food here are wonderful, nice staff, fast service, prices are high but it is worth trying.

I have been to many Turkish places in the UK, such as Olive Tree and Mils. But so far this one is the worst of them all. First of all, when it comes to the food, it's not that bad tbh, however, some of it and the rice we get every time is salty, no matter how many times we ask, they obviously don't care whether customers have health problems or not, we asked not to add salt to our food, however, arrived salty on the table. Every single time! It's like hopeless. Second, the chairs are not comfortable at all, especially when u sit for more than one hour and have food. It's not suitable for restaurants of that kind anyway! Also, loud loud ..loud ...loud ...loud music that kills you while u eat! really terrible. I have been to many Turkish restaurants in the UK, but not as noisy as this one. Lastly, and most importantly, the way they welcome people is really bad, I would give that a zero. U enter the place and face their grumpy faces so we get a very bad vibe for the first few minutes. The male waiters are the worst, they do not smile, do not look at the customer's face when talking, completely ignore, a bit rude unwelcoming attitude. Worst restaurant when it comes to waiters!! Girls are way better ..and even friendly unlike the male waiters. This of course happens every time we go, so I'm not talking about one time. Therefore, I have decided to write a review as we have been to that place over 7 times in the past few months. However, the way they welcome us and the way their male waiters behave toward customers is not changing. We have decided not to go there again, as it ruins the whole experience. Therefore, I would rate food 4/10 Customer service 0/10 Comfortable setting 0/10

Really nice food. Place was full and busy, service was quick and friendly. Was a date night for me and the missus and found the lights a bit too bright and harsh to set the mood but the food was amazing.

We booked a fabulous AirBNB 2 minutes from this treasure of a restaurant. My very first encounter with Turkish food (super fussy eater). Had the sharing option for 4. I have to say,,, A - MAZE - ING. The lamb chops were expertly cooked and had the most delicious flavour as did the burger, chicken and all other components on this platter. Nice and hot, beautifully presented and generous portions. The service was friendly and professional. So sad this culinary family do not operate in my area in the Petersfield/Haslemere area of the south. Thank you guys for converting me. 😋

Good food but very small portion sizes. 4 of us got the mix grill for 4 and were shocked at how small it was. The food tasted great but we all left still feeling hungry. Very disappointing as I am sure the mix grill used to be larger. Wouldn’t recommend if you are actually hungry.

Anar A cracking restaurant food is great and not dear big car park and on main bus route 10 and 10a close to city center 6mins in taxi to restaurant well worth a vist would recomend to go have been 5 times and allways good time and fast service on prescot road next to village market Derek 😀went there today at 1pm good as allways

Took my wife and daughter for my birthday ive been to quite a few Turkish restaurants and they have all been good but anar was amazing even my 10 year old daughter said it was the best she tasted the halloumi fries were lovely we all got the mixed kebab lamb and chicken at the end 3 clean plates 👍

Anar is a great place. There's a nice relaxed feel and the food is fantastic. The Iskender Kebab is superb. Stan, our waitress, was fantastic with us and helped a Celiac in the party order something nice that wasn't going to contain wheat.

Had a fantastic experience with my family here good food friendly staff and our waiter STAN was very helpful positive and made my family visit very special, very charismatic staff , great place for birthdays , thank you Stan and the rest of the staff for the great service and food .

Food is very good here as are the staff. You can pretend your on your jollybobs in Turkey. Very authentic. My only ' moan ' is the music, far to loud so if your going for a 'catch up' be prepared to shout out loud or miss the gossip. Would I go again? Mm maybe, if I can get a table well away from the speakers.

We have been here with a big group today management was very rude(not service staff) with an disrespectfull manner made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome he mixed up all the meals and bills won't be going here again

The reception lady was not welcoming she made a face like she was going to attack you, really looking at you like she was swearing you while taking an order, this kind of attitude is really rude, please ask her to put an smile on her face or to at least be normal, if she is not happy with her job then her manager deserves her attitude not the customers.

This is probably one of the best places to eat in Liverpool. We had Serpme Breakfast. Definitely the best breakfast I had. We have been few times niw and the food was alway excellent. The atmosphere is very pleasant and the furniture is comfortable. We will be definitely going back.

Went for a friend's birthday meal. Food was delicious, and the customer service was excellent.

Been here a few times and have always had a lovely meal The food is very tasty ordered a mixed kebab, meze, dips and calamari. bread is moreish. However, the staff are not attentive, they don't ask if you've enjoyed the food, or if you need anything, and there is quite a lot of staff however struggled to catch their attention to ask for more drinks, salt and sauce etc. The main course came as we were finishing the starter, which was too much all at once, a 5/10 min break would of been better.

We took our breakfast with my friends at this restaurant. It was amazing and provided a delicious food with different types. In addition the staff were welcoming and professional in serving us and other customers. It is recommended for anyone would plan to visit Liverpool.

Do NOT understand the hype coming from other people. Food was alright, (although rice wasn’t cooked enough and quite chewy) but service was none existent. Staff don’t come back to clear things away or ask if your food is ok or if you want another drink etc even though there’s millions of staff in there walking around pretending to be busy so there’s absolutely no excuse for it. We ended up having to get their attention to ask for a drink which they took so long to bring we thought they’d forgot and we were ready to go. They brought over a can of coke like 20 minutes later which we just took home with us and didn’t really want anymore .. oh and they charged £2.49 for it. We had to ask for the bill twice and when the card machine was brought over the waiter had the cheek to say “are you ready?” To my fella as he was getting his cards out like his precious time was being wasted even though you had no problem wasting ours the whole time we were there. You didn’t even clear away any plates or anything till we were leaving and we had finished with them long before we got to leave because you made us wait forever for the bill. My fella was going to get a dessert but decided against it because of how pathetic , rude and slow your service is. Please see the WhatsApp conversation I had with my sister while in your restaurant. Would not return if you paid me.

We went to Anar last night for my sons 18th and couldnt fault anything. We were a group of 18 and the food came out all together, it was hot and it was fresh with the meat in the mixed kebab so succulent and tasty absolute top notch a real credit to the kitchen staff to achieve this!! Superb service from beginning to end....friendly and prompt. Really enjoyed the evening and recommend for any celebration!

Very poor quality of food, Not authentic Turkish food. Further enquiry at the restaurant reveled that they are not Turkish but Bangladeshis. Food and drinks are heavily overpriced. I am recommending not to visit this restaurant at any cost. There are many other very good Turkish Restaurants on merseyside. This is my expert opinion.
