What a lovely place. The staff are cheerful and welcoming. Service efficient without being obvious. Love their way of getting the staff's attention. Lovely food, food pre ordered and so arrives in good time. We were there for a 'leaving' do and it was lovely.

Had a great night here with family. Friendly staff, drinks and food was excellent. Very enjoyable, I would highly recommend a visit. Had a jug of blue lagoon and thought the shark in it was brilliant. We were last to leave and had a little dance with my wife when no one was around only to have the kitchen staff come out and compliment us on our moves as they could see the dining room on CCTV which gave us a laugh and embarrassed our grown up children.

The restaurant is run like a well oiled machine. All orders sent in before via email. Greeted by happy staff on the bar before being escorted to your table upstairs. The food is amazing, the service is fabulous and has great atmosphere.

Amazing food; personal favourite is the lemon chilli chicken nachos, they are just delicious! Cocktails as always flowed well and were tasty. Highly recommend the rhubarb custard cocktail!

Came in without a reservation tonight and they managed to fit us in. Lucky for us because the food was delicious, nice drinks, friendly atmosphere and pleasant (non-cheesy) background music. Recommended.

Amigos is always a pleasure to visit, great friendly staff and fabulous food. It's a definite must visit for locals and visitors alike. Prices are sensible so within budget but no skimping on quality.

I was very lucky to secure a late cancellation on the same day, excellent food 5 star ⭐️ and service, love the atmosphere nothing too much trouble, will always return, had a desert for the first time ever and the churros we’re delicious 😋

We very much enjoyed our evening at Amigos on Saturday evening. Lovely food and great atmosphere. We were welcomed on arrival and offered drinks in the bar. We all had one of their fabulous cocktails. The service at our table was good and we all had nachos followed by fajitas and then churros. All round great evening.

Working in Ulverston and amigos was recommended by one of the locals. It didn't disappoint, staff very friendly and food was excellent. Would recommend a visit if you're in town.

We (party of 4) had a great time at Amigos on Friday evening. The staff were warm and welcoming when we arrived. They were eager to serve us at the downstairs bar and they had a wide range of drinks to choose from. We were seated upstairs on time and our pre ordered food came out shortly after. The food was presented very well and tasted just as good. The steaks were cooked perfectly and were nice and thick. Supplied by a local butcher (the owner Tracy informed us). The Enchiladas, starters and side salads were all perfect and looked to have been lovingly crafted. The restaurant staff were attentive, happy, smiley and funny. Can’t wait to go back again.

The evening at Amigos was brilliant from start to finish......the service, the drinks and especially the food.....wow! Great birthday meal and I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Ulverston. 🍻🍸😁😋

Large crowd of us went for a family celebration. Bar area is well set out and well decorated so looks really inviting when you arrive. Quick and efficient service from smiling staff. Beautifully presented food using high quality ingredients-every person commented on the lovely meals served. Highly recommended.

Christmas work outing in Ulverston. Havent been in years to this pretty little town but we went around a few bars and ate at Amigos. Food is great with lots of yummy carbs and really brilliant guacamole. Quite expensive and the cocktails (for me) tasted...

Tracy the host looked after our booking of 20 people for a 50th birthday meal. Helpful from the start and easy to organise. Food was outstanding as always. One of the best places to eat out in town!

We went to celebrate my husband’s 40th and we had a fantastic night, lovely food and the staff went above and beyond, they even came out dressed as chilli peppers and singing happy birthday which my husband will definitely remember 😁

We had a delicious meal with great service. The food really was fantastic, and pre-ordering the day before to avoid waste felt like a step in the right direction for the industry and made for a lovely experience in the restaurant. We'll definitely be returning!

I love Mexican food and the decor and atmosphere of this place is great, but I always leave disappointed. The food pre-ordering procedure is tedious and unjustified given the small and repetitive menu. Drinks take an age to arrive and food only has an average quality. If you're unlucky enough to dine early, the pressure will be on to vacate your table. Quite annoying when you've spent most of your time waiting for service

Delicious food and amazing staff. Best part was the cocktails, when asked what the cocktail of the day is, they reply was "anything you want it to be".

I said I would be back, however this time as a party of 30 for Xmas do. Food and drink served efficiently and the quality of the food was excellent. Can't fault this place in any way.

Fantastic meal with a great atmosphere. We had our works Christmas meal at Amigos last night and the experience was fantastic right from the get go. Amigos were very communicative, friendly and helpful throughout. All the staff are absolute stars and the evening was fab. Amigos always delivers great food, moreish cocktails and smiles galore. My husband and i visited amigos last week with friends and had an amazing meal and drinks (the strawberry mijitos had me right back on the beach in mexico 😍) the service was fabulous and staff lovely. Everyone needs to try this place, would highly recommend and I can't wait to go back again!

I was taken here for my birthday last month. It's not your usual restaurant as you start in the basement and get taken to your table when the food is ready. Service is quick and polite. Food was presented very well. We would definitely visit again.

Amazing food. 👏 Went for my son's 18th birthday 🎂 with a party of 13 people which they accommodated very well for a small venue. Preordering the food (which was requested) made food service super efficient. Would definitely go again as haven't sampled everything from the menu yet 😋

We were so impressed with this restaurant. We originally contacted for a table but was told they were fully booked. However, they did manage to accommodate us, which we really appreciated. They have a wonderful girl on the bar. She was very friendly and smiley. When you arrive you are seated in the bar and taken up to the restaurant when your food is ready. The restaurant is lovely and loved the deco throughout. The food was incredible. I had sticky ribs which were so delicious followed by the chimichangas. All the staff that served us was lovely. We had one more cocktail in the bar before we left. Would definitely recommend to anyone. Thank you for making room for us.

Had a lovely dinner here with me, my husband, and our 2 kids. Lots on the menu for all of us and really friendly service. I had the loaded nachos, and on the table we also had the chimichanga, and kids wraps. Would've been lovely to sit upstairs the full time but understand they have limited space, and ordering downstairs works pretty well.

Hi different from any restaurant I’ve been in before. The staff brilliant nothing was to much trouble. And very friendly Great atmosphere in the whole place. We had nachos and sticky ribs as starter great starter. Good sized portions and very tasty Fajitas and enchiladas for mains with side of chips and onion rings. Beautiful very tasty scolding hot and spiced for us just right We looked at a dessert but in all honesty having one would have just been being greedy as we were both comfortably full We would certainly come here again

The four of us (all guys in our 60's) go out of a meal every couple of months and try different cuisine or restaurants that we haven't been to before. Amigos proved to be a great find and a real gem. We all enjoyed everything about our experience and I honestly don't have a bad word to say. We will be going back and bringing our wives next time 👍

Awesome experience here, waiter was really nice and polite, Michaela was literally the happiest person behind a bar I’ve ever seen! Food 10/10, very reasonable prices, will definitely return when next in Ulverston.

Great friendly service, nice atmosphere, but we came for the food which was all out of a packet, not fresh or flavoursome. All reheated or not made in-house. Considering the competition around the corner, they should think about improving their menu.

Ribs for starter - piping hot and very delicous Beef Bowl for main - piping hot but not much flavour. Service was done via a light up cactus on the table which was sometimes ignored and took us a while to get served even though it was pre-ordered. Overall a decent meal with friends. Service could have been better. I also think pricing needs to be looked at because the beef bowl was £17 which didn't have much meat or flavour.

Food was very good and reasonably priced. There was a couple of things that made this place unique. One was having to email our order through 24 hours beforehand, and the other was a light up cactus on the table, which you switched on to indicate you needed service. Even with the light up cactus, service was a little slow at times, but that was the only fault. The atmosphere was great, good selection of drinks. Would love to return.

First class service and food, attentive without asking every 5 minutes if everything was ok. We really liked the cactus tree light which you used if you wanted any attention. Will certainly return.

Really lovely atmosphere and super friendly and attentive waiting staff. Great build up and smells from the kitchen were lovely. Unfortunately can only give three stars as our taco shells were very stale and bendy- looked and tasted a bit too similar to the el paso ones you buy in tescos. From experience I know this brand has that as an issue. No issue with the tacos not being homemade, however as they were stale we were told by staff we could have soft ones instead... the chef refused that offer and stated "this is what they are supposed to taste like", refusing us the alternative. For a 19 pound dish, we were thrown off by quite a simple solution being rejected. I've so far never had a chef insinuate I'm wrong and dig their heels in like that, threw us off a bit. Everything else was good!

Visited on spec last night quite early after opening. Greeted with warmth and friendly hospitality. The staff there found a quiet table near the bar and allowed us as much time as we needed. Pre meal cocktails were a must and the food we ordered was outstanding. There are somethings that need pre ordering but even with those off the menu the choice was enough. Decor and quirk well it's nothing short of excellent. Thank you all for such a delightful evening. See you next time

If you do one thing in Ulverston, get yourself organised and book a table at Amigos! Absolutely fantastic food in a lovely setting with brilliant service as well. It's a cosy setting just right to enjoy some home cooked Mexican food on a cold Autumn evening. Well worth planning a trip there and booking in advance. You won't be disappointed!

Been many years since I last came here but will not be as long again till my next visit. All round excellent. Cocktails are fab and food was fast and delicious for a table of 12! Great staff and big portions for the money.

Went with another family. Were seated swiftly, meals came in very good time and everything was delicious, no complaints from anyone. We were offered drinks when getting low. Very attentive. Desserts were well received and the coffee was pretty good too. Highly recommend.

We love visiting Amigos when we're in the area. Welcoming bar downstairs where you wait for your table to be ready. Usually order ahead which means the food arrives quickly. Delicious Mexican dishes served up by friendly staff in lovely surroundings.

The only Mexican restaurant in the lakes. You have to book, leave a deposit and pre order food. But oh boy , the food is superb as is the friendly service. I live 1 hr 40 mins away and would come back

Nice Mexican place, was asked to wait downstairs whilst food was cooked. Didbt mind the wait. Food arrived well presented and hot. Chicken tasted nice in the fajitas, only letdown by the limp lettuce, but still ate it. Must prebook as they buy in food for the day to avoid waste. Didbt see any Mexicans 🤷‍♀️

We visited here while on holiday. We were lucky to get a table as I thought I had reserved but turns out I reserved with the wrong restaurant (same name but in Liverpool 🤣). Anyway, they kindly accommodated us in the bar area which, while not incredibly comfortable for eating, was very good of them as I don't think my 3 year old would have tolerated traipsing round town to find somewhere else! The food was very tasty and huge portions (our 3 year old barely made a dent in her child's portion) and the staff were all lovely and very helpful. Also there was a decent vegetarian offering which, as we discovered, is not a given in this part of the country!

Tasty, hot, incredible Mexican dishes. Super atmosphere and we were well looked after.

Lovely surroundings, staff all really nice. Food was so nice, only downside was the teeny size of the fillet steak. Although we know it's a small cut of meat, it was possibly only 2 ounces in weight, which doesn't reflect the price. But would go again and order something else. Just seen response from the owner. Full points for subtle sarcasm! We were not advised the steak would shrink as it was well done, and the other steak was medium and just as small. Yes, we will have our needs satisfied with a mixed grill in another restaurant in future, thanks. In our opinion, £24 for a teeny fillet steak is steep, and this was a special meal for me for my birthday. Next steak we buy in a restaurant will hopefully be a bit bigger than the mushroom.

Relax3d atmosphere, service was excellent and the food was of equallyhigh standard. I'd go as far as to say it was the best Mexican food I've ever eaten having experienced Mexican food in Mexico. I would definitely recommend Amigos to anyone looking for a great place to eat.

So glad to be back at Amigos. The place is gorgeous, love all the decor detail in the restaurant. Food was amazing we had chimichangas, nachos, fajita board - that was great. It was our son's birthday so they came out dressed as a cactus and sang happy birthday. After last years lockdown birthday this really was a big deal. The staff are great, foods delicious and cocktails!!!Be back soon
