Thought i would try this fish and chip shop as in the area walking. Went for sausage and chips. Inside the staff were great and was not long waiting either. Very happy with them and filled me up with a few left. Glad i stopped by to have some.Wouild call again if in the area.

Our order was delicious and the portions are very generous. Thoroughly recommend Ambridge Fisheries. The lady taking our telephone order was so helpful, went out of her way to be so. Very grateful for the delivery service, the driver was extremely friendly.

First time in Spilsby and found this great little chippy on the main road. Eat in or takeaway and even delivery service! We ate in and lovely friendly, helpful staff. Meals cooked to order and quick efficient service. Meal nicely cooked and reasonable prices. Great find and just what we needed for a quick dinner.

OK moved into Spilsby a month ago. Collected food order last time but had delivery this time. Their food is just the best. Diet is on hold lol. Their fish and chips are the tastiest. Xx

This fish and chip restaurant in Spilsby is worth recommending to everyone I have just had fish chips and tea everything was cooked to order and presented very well the staff were pleasant and value for money

The best chippy ever. The fish is amazing and chips always cooked perfectly. What’s more, they deliver to your door for a small fee. When family & friends come to stay they always request a chippy tea from Ambridges because they are so good.

First off the seating area is not pleasant, it's far too small and cramped and not somewhere where you want to stay and enjoy you food so you may be better getting the food to take away. I thought the fish was over cooked with batter that verged on crunchy rather than crisp, the chips were soggy and the mushy peas had a dubious texture and very little flavour. The mug of tea was okay.

Passing through, and decided to get sausage and chips. Chips were not bad, but have had many a lot better. Batter on sausage just fell off, but still I ate it.

Honestly the best chippy in the area bar none. Can’t beat an Ambridge’s chippy tea 🐟 always look forward to my next one.

After a long day out, we were passing through Spilsby on our way home and decided on the spur of the moment to try their fish & chips, as we had not eaten fish and chips out for a long time. We were very disappointed, the chips were very dry, rigid and solid, which reminded us of frozen chips. The fish itself was tasty but the fat was running out if the batter! Needless to say, all of the chips and all of the batter off the fish was thrown in the bin, what a waste of money, will not be going back there again.

since we first moved to Spilsby, this establishment and its staff made us feel welcome which sounds weird I know but it's true they are a great bunch. the food, for the most part, is well cooked and for the cost it's amazing we visit here often and would recommend to most the only reason i don't give a 5* for the food is the pies being a big fan of a good pie sadly the microwaved puka don't do it for me. hopefully one day they start serving home made and pies and then this place would for me be perfection

Had a bit of a wait but totally understand why..social distancing adhered to.... the fish was freshly cooked in BEEF Dripping and tasted amazing as did the chips ..the portion was generous and despite being super busy the staff were friendly and cheerful .. take yr coat ..wait outside patiently and sniff the air... absolutely nothing to complain about ..top marks Ambridges

My husband and I were staying in Spilsby and decided to try the fish and chip shop after reading the favourable reviews on Tripadvisor. Staff lovely and friendly. We both chose haddock and chips. The shop was very busy and clearly a hit with the locals. We waited for the fish to be cooked. The portion size was very generous, batter was crispy but a large amount of fat drained out of it. The chips were also a generous portion but were pretty soggy. My husband left most of his however I must admit that I ate most of my fish and about half the chips. Maybe the place is so popular because there is no other fish and chip shop in town. Won’t return here.

The fish and chips were cooked fresh, absolutely first class. The batter was light and crunchy, and not greasy at all. The curry sauce had a kick to it too. Staff so friendly. I would highly recommend.

I had fish, chips and curry and they were the best I’ve had for a long time. Chips were cooked to perfection, curry was nice. Only four stars because fish was slightly over greasy in places and batter under cooked in places.
