Hi just been for a lovely meal food great as usual,service very good cant wait to come back

Rude staff, no service at all and to top it off the food practically tastes like it was purchased from iceland….. would never go back. £70 for 2 people too. Didn’t even finish the mains felt immediately sick.

Food is good and the atmosphere is also nice and attractive. Staff is also good. But less attention to customers. Vegetarian food is not properly mentioned. But they have a seperate section for Vegetarian.

Great food and an exhaustive menu, you cannot not find something. I had the vegetarian mapo tofu with seafood fried rice, dumplings and a seafood soup.

Came here to eat with my family and we all loved it. Would definitely come back again to try out some other dishes

Don’t even bother with this place. Tried to book for 7:30 and then received absolutely no confirmation of the book. So about 3 hours later we phoned and they told us they’re fully booked. We asked when they’d tell us this and they said at 7:30 in an email. Not even a sorry or any sort of apology. They probably wouldn’t even have told us at all if we hadn’t phoned. Their website said they had bookings. So at the time we wanted to eat, we may have been told we didn’t have a booking and they were fully booked. What a disgrace of a system. Shocking.

Fantastic time. Came for a meal for Chinese new year! Food was amazing. Capital ribs were the best I’ve had!!! Would definitely recommend.

I ordered a "bowl" of egg fried rice. It was the first time I had eaten egg fried rice that was so light, white and light with no fat. Although there was no fat, the egg flavor was very fragrant; the ingredients we ordered for the spicy hot pot were: shrimp, There are at least six kinds of fatty intestines, cauliflower, potatoes, pork belly, and yuba. They are paired with egg fried rice. The spiciness and aroma go well together. As for the drinks? It's ok.

Great food , good choice, great service

AVOID Booked the function room meant be £20 per person food and drink included.when we arrived told us 45 mins to order food and drinks. Handed us bill at the end of 3hrs £900 said we went over there was only 7 of us each having 1 main and about 4 drinks each. WORKED OUT £150 PER PERSON. there is cheaper and nicer restaurants further down the road

Love coming here. Been coming here since it opened many years ago. Food and service is fast and great quality. Love the picture menus when you don't know what to eat.

The serving speed was too slow. It took almost an hour for the spicy hotpot to arrive. The same was true for several tables around, and the restaurant didn't have many customers. The spicy hot pot tastes good. The spicy and sour fried chicken pho had a strange fishy taste.

Top quality food and top quality service would recommend it highly

Good hygiene and well maintained. Had a bowl of noodles with fried chicken drumstick, the chicken is fried which made this dish a bit greasy. Was expecting some fresh veggies and herbs.

Hainan chicken rice i order every wednesday. I love it. They always give me the extra chilli sauce which i love. Nothing is a problem

Food was passable and very average. Service was very bad. Starter didn’t arrive until chased and then after an hour they said they had run out of my main course. Their excuse was lots of takeaway orders. Will not go back and suggest you avoid.

Came to the restaurant on a Friday evening. It wasn't busy so it gave the restaurant a quiet atmosphere, pleasant but not giving it a vibrant feel. The staff were pleasant, however, the service felt slow. For example, we had been seated for several minutes before anyone came to take our order. When the food did arrive it was great. The menu had lots of options which all looked delicious.

Had a great meal here with my wife. Didn’t know what we wanted so we ended up ordering a load of starters and a crispy duck and were not disappointed. It was all awesome and we will definitely be back again next time we are in Newcastle

Food is great and quantity really good too! However when I ordered a pot of tea (just for myself) my wife decided she wanted to try and asked for another cup...But we were charged for TWO pots of tea??? Apparently the rule is they charge by the CUP!!

Took my sister here last week for a meal out and was totally impressed. Lush food, great portions, massive menu, and really friendly service. My sister is veggie and there was a huge veggie menu here, which is partly why we came. Will def be coming again. Would fully recommend.

Visited here whilst in Newcastle. Have been looking for a good feed of Chinese since arriving in the UK. This place didn't disappoint. On arrival we were shown to our table and drinks were ordered. The manager took great interest after finding out we were from Australia. We had a great chat with him. The drinks and food soon arrived. The entrees were great and the mains were just what we had been waiting for (mini spring rolls, satay chicken, beef in black pepper sauce, szechuan chicken). Would recommend this restaurant in Newcastle's Chinatown area.

Great food, we had a lovely meal. The staff very friendly and attentive which added to it. We will definitely look to return. Lovely place.

Average at best. Spring rolls were all crunch and no punch. Main dishes were too salty and saucy and lacked enough meat to justify the price. Service was quite slow all around. Won't return.

Very fast service and the food was great

Food is good however service is not, slow and disorganised. Staff requires training and shows lack of interest.

This is a great place to eat and we would definitely visit again if we were ever in the area. We had the Hot Pot dish to share and it was amazing. Staff are very helpful and friendly.

Really enjoyed the food here we had the chicken and vegetables with fried rice was so tasty and served hot great portions too. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Really clean too always cleaning the tables. Price was reasonable too.

This was a fantastic place to eat. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Thank you especially to Sky who was amazing in her attentiveness, even booking me a cab and bringing me back inside to wait for it! The food came in great quantities and piping hot, even the glass for the cold drink was hot but that was fine! As I looked around very few people were able to finish their plates! Amazing! , I wish you were local to where I live!

The food was amazing, really taste and prepared to order. The choice was fantastic and the picture menu made it easy to see what you would get. The food when it arrived did not disappoint. I would recommend this restaurant everyone.

Amaysia is definitely one of my top "go-to" places in Newcastle - consistently great in all aspects (menu options, affordability, food quality, staff, cleanliness of the restaurant). I can totally see why you'd take guests there

Good food served by friendly and courteous staff. We eat around 6pm without a reservation and it appears lucky they had room. This was Saturday night and I'd advise booking in advance. Even though they were busy we didn't feel rushed with time between courses to chat. Highly recommended.

Came here on my own midweek. The food was lovely. Chicken black bean with egg fried rice and the capital sauce spare ribs were delicious. (Only minor criticism seems to be that when looking around I was the only table who didn’t seem to get given a bowl of free prawn crackers on their table)

Great food, quick service good price as well for portion we received would recommend good atmosphere we went later so maybe not at optimum standard as when it’s a bit earlier in the evening

My daughter started university life in Newcastle in September and this is so handy to the premier inn where we’ve stayed. This was our second visit to this lovely restaurant, food quality is excellent and feel the prices are reasonable, service is ok. We first visited as a family and this evening as a couple. The one thing I would change about this restaurant is the loud cheesy 80’s tunes blasting out on repeat, becomes very annoying and irritating..,,please please address this and tone / turn it down, this is what lowers my score from a 4 to a 5 * review, love a bit of background music but this is a bit ott in my opinion.

Although service was slow, don’t be out off by that. When it came the food was magnificent. I had Kung Po chicken without bones and fried rice, with a white wine.

Remember those Chinese takeaways in aluminium or plastic containers? Food covered in sauce or sticky rubbish? You can relive the experience all these decades later at Amaysia. 2 stars because the lads working there were so nice. Otherwise it would be one.

unfortunately I had to give this place 2 stars (although it's generous on my behalf) .The reason for this was because the staff would constantly walk right passed us even when we called out to them and go straight to all the tables . The food itself was OK .Me and my sister are usually the only hijabi's and brown skinned people at the place and for some reason I couldn't help but feel like they intended on mistreating us by completing ignoring us while staring directly at us too. I could be wrong but it's how I feel everytime I go in . I believe they mainly entertain the more fairer complexions customers . this has happened on many occasions . I hope they will treat other customers like myself better

Dreadful service, 4 guys 2 courses each took two hours, meals all arrived 10 mins apart from each other so no-one was eating at the same time. Items missing from order and did not arrive after asking for them again. Other customers served, dined and left after being seated after us. Complained when paying bill, offered 10% off full bill but this didn't even cover the cost of the items that never arrived on the table. Protracted discussions with the staff regarding "our problem". Fed up so just threw down the amount I felt the meal and service was worth and left. Will not be back.

Tasty food and friendly service! Came here on a Wednesday evening for the hainannese chicken but was unfortunately sold out. I had beef tendon and brisket with rice and a red bean iced drink. The food is flavourful, portion is big for an affordable price. The tendon is soft almost melts in your mouth, totally recommend this dish. The red bean drink is a bit too sweet for my liking, if you like evaporated milk, you’re going to love it! The place was very busy during evening, there’s plenty options to choose from on the menu and the vibe is great, all the staffs are super nice as well! Plus, they gave you free prawn crackers!

📍Amaysia Restaurant, Newcastle (Chinatown) What's better than having family and warm homely food in a cold country, especially when you're already missing Malaysia? (haha.. I know it's been a short while only, but I really miss Malaysia's food!) The owner of Amaysia happens to be from Penang, and the cuisine served was pretty darn good! Ah.. Having Soya Cincau, some Teh Ais… whoa, hands down, good stuff.. And the fried chicken wings were crisp and delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our Mala Hotpot. With quality ingredients, premium beef slices and lotus roots, it was great food and great family time. It's lovely to know that we have food in Newcastle that has very much semblance to home. Even better to be having family around us. I'll definitely be coming back for more.

Beautiful place to eat. Great atmosphere. Greated by a nice member of staff named Mario. Always positive. Ate the starter for 2 which was delicious. For drink i recommend lychee + aloe vera drink. Delicious food however the menu could be improved as most of the food is spicy.
