5 out of 5, after dining at the Aberdeen Restaurant back in November which was exceptional I booked a table at the Glasgow branch. Again the service and meal was excellent. I look forward for our next visits. Definitely can recommend 👌

Have visited Amarone many times over the last 12 years and it has been our 'go to' restaurant when we visit Glasgow each February. This time we were left wanting, not by the food which was delicious as usual but by the ambience and atmosphere which just wasn't right. There was quite loud '70's funk' music playing and very bright lights. Once we had finished our mains we were not asked if we wanted to see the dessert menu, instead we were left for around 30 minutes during which time I noticed the waitress had printed off the bills for the remaining diners including ours, at this point we were asked if we wanted anything else and felt somewhat obliged to say no. We had already spent over £100 for two of us and would have ordered dessert but felt like we needed to leave. Its such a shame as we have always loved this place in the past.

Nice food but space the tables further apart, guys. We were packed in like battery hens and forced to listen to other couple's conversations. It's like we were sitting together at the same table. Not private or comfortable.

Visited on 3rd of February with Family. Service amazing. Food fantastic. Wine was lovely. Only downside. We notified Restaurant online when booking that is was my elderly father’s Birthday that day. Restaurant didn’t do anything when considering we spent nearly £300 I thought this to be poor. Everything else was fab.

Very ambient location with extremely nice staff fully conversant with the menu and offer good advice. The name itself Amarone which is a famous Italian Red is readily available at very competitive price. The food wine and service was great . A bit disappointed that due to staff shortages they finish at 10.pm weekdays, which was OK for us but it is a long time since we were last leave.

Fresh off the train, with a hungry partner. We were scruffy and carrying rucksacks, not my finest hour dress wise. I fully expected to be turned away but the staff could not have been more welcoming, we were shown to a table without judgement. I have been struggling with my hearing this week due to a head cold but I was shown patience and good grace when I couldn’t hear the choice of wines properly. I had the calamari, which is my favourite, and although served slightly differently from the Aberdeen branch, it was equally delicious. There was a wee drizzle of the ginger mayonnaise as opposed to a pot, but I coped! The lasagne was delicious, but as usual I had to fare la scarpetta. This was not a problem for our busy server who brought some lovely bread to our table. Again I couldn’t hear her properly when she gave me a choice, but she was incredibly sweet about it. It was very busy there today, but I found everyone to be so attentive, beautifully mannered and so welcoming. Thank you, it was just what we needed.

Very nice lunch, great service and reasonably priced.

My husband loved his pizza but my pasta was overcooked and stodgy. Nice atmosphere although the service was slow, we were there 15 minutes before ordering a drink

Really disappointing meal at Amarone. Always had great food and service in the past. We went as a work Christmas event. The food was average and seemed like conveyor belt delivery, the service was poor and at £30 per head with two tables of 20 they should have been way more attentive. Ushered from table once finished after spending a significant amount of money there.

Food was absolutely amazing! Being a vegetarian, I was happy to see a lot of options available Too! The only downside for me personally: Too loud when there's a lot of crowd. Won't blame the restaurant but we could hear each other at the same table!

Have been to Amarone several times over the last 10 years. Athough still an enjoyable meal the restaurant has definitely changed and service and food is not as great as used to be. Ordered from Christmas menu, not the best choice and small portions. Staff very busy and less attentive as previous visits - seems to lack the personal touch it used to have and now very much a chain. Likely to try somewhere different in Glasgow and wouldnt rush back

Very central restaurant near bus train and subway. Christmas lunch was excellent the venue staff and atmosphere was really good. Although very busy it's well organized. Never disappointed with Amarone.

Works Christmas do - food was genuinely excellent. Service tailed off a little - having to flag down staff for the bill after we weren't offered coffee/more drinks.

We walked in at the height of the dinner service without a booking. Found us a table and treated with great respect. Food was exceptional as was the service. This is now one of our go to places in Glasgow.

Christmas dinner preset menu … not worth it. Poor in quality, quantity and value. Attended at the restaurant (pleasant surroundings) and presented with menu. It very small print, and I mean very small print was the price of the set menu. I had the three courses. Black pudding starter which was ok, the turkey main course was average and the sausages were pale and just cooked. Honestly, I could have bought a better meal from M&S and heated it in a microwave! The profiteroles were tasteless…. So all in all it was the usual city culture of overpriced Xmas menus and lacking quality. The staff were pleasant . I really look forward going to my local Italian restaurant for quality meal this December…. personally I won’t be back at this restaurant. I was in the company of many others and we all agreed but we didn’t want this to spoil our night out.

We called by chance here for a Saturday lunch on Saturday 2nd December. We hadn’t booked (how thick were we?!) and the restaurant was understandably rammed so no room at the inn for Mary! We were offered a place at the end of the serving area on pedalstools, we dithered briefly, but then bit the bullet and so glad we did so. A brilliant vibe in the restaurant, sat overlooking the pizza chefs, and great service from Brandon with his funky boots! Fabulous food and also great front of house service from the man in the suit with the beard - highly recommend and next time we will have the sense to book!

Went to spend a voucher from last Christmas, with my mum. Ordered calamari which was just edible. For mains we both ordered carbonara but after two bites we could not finish as too salty and started to feel sick. When waitress came over to ask about meals we explained and she didn’t seem to bother and rolled her eyes. She took the plates away then the manager came over and explained it was salted because of the meat which we can understand but it was totally disgusting the amount of salt you could taste. When we explained how we felt the manager stated ‘well I like it’. Explained we had a voucher and was dismissed then explained it would be rounded to the nearest £10. Given the rest in vouchers. But unfortunately we won’t be back due to food being horrible and customer service totally lacking. Wasted Christmas present and evening.

Service was quick and friendly. Food was ok. I had heard good reports about this restaurant so I think my expectations were quite high so I was a little disappointed in the food. It was nice but just didn't live up to my expectations. I had the bruschetta (nice and fresh) and then Margherita pizza (lovely thin base). The thing that really annoyed me was the level of noise in the restaurant. My party of 8 was shouting across the table to make ourselves heard.

Enjoyed a shopping day lunch here, good value daytime menu with plenty of choice and quality of food was excellent. The service was attentive and professional. 10% gratuity already added to bill. Will go again in future.

Visited Amarone as my wife and I were having a night out in Glasgow. We’ve both been before and really enjoyed our previous meal but I can’t help feel disappointed with it this time. Food was probably as good as you could cook yourself at home and nothing special. Staff however, were excellent and very attentive and made sure we were looked after. Would probably visit again in future to give it another try, maybe it was just an off night

10/10 meal, can’t remember the last time I had food as delicious as that! We had the scallop pasta and n’duja pizza, absolutely incredible and all made gluten free as we have coeliac disease. The gluten free pizza dough was amazing and couldn’t tell it was GF, the scallop pasta was so unique and one of the nicest pasta dishes we’ve ever had. The staff were all very friendly and attentive, they even split our pizza and pasta in half for us as we were sharing. Perfect meal thank you!

We ate here on a Sunday evening prior to a concert and it was our first visit to Amarone. We hadn't booked and the place was buzzing, although it was only early evening - lots of families were eating together. We were seated at a high-top table and the Maitre d'Hotel was very friendly. The food was great and the portion size is huge, including soups and pizzas, which we watched being made and cooked in front of us. The service was efficient and considering both the quality and quantity of food, this was good value.

Hadn't visited for some time but will be back soon. Food was delicious, service swift and friendly. Very warm atmosphere and buzzing for a Tuesday evening.

There was however an odd taste of the spaghetti sauce almost like it has been smoked. Wasn’t the best spaghetti. Service was ok, Waitering staff seem somewhat overwhelmed by client numbers.

The food was very good and the atmosphere was really nice! The service was very fast, and maybe a little too fast because we felt rushed out.

My wife and I came here earlier than our reservation and they accommodated us. Drinks were good, food was delicious, and service was very fast. Bruschetta app was great. It was a bit loud and busy because it was crowded, but I can see why it's popular!

I dined here for lunch with my family as I'd received a voucher from my work colleagues. I have several things to say which made this visit sub-par but the crux of it all is that my mum & I (who don't live together and so had not shared any meals together prior to our visit) barely had time to leave the restaurant on this day before we were both very ill. I was sick for several days and had the worst stomach pains I've had - and I've had a baby! An "investigation" was carried out and we were offered a £20 voucher? No thank you! Will not be back. I would not recommend eating here at all.

Visited for dinner after a few hours shopping. Ordered lasagne which was ok but nothing special. What I was more concerned about was pieces of chopped up bay leaves which were inedible and were throughout the whole dish. Spent the whole meal having to pick these out. Bay leaves are supposed to be put in a dish for flavour then removed but clearly not in this case. When it came to paying the bill I noticed that a service charge had been added on. I usually don’t mind if I’ve enjoyed the meal or feel staff have been attentive but when I mentioned to the waiter I didn’t want to pay the service charge I felt his manner changed and was actually quite abrupt when finishing the payment. I won’t be back to this particular restaurant as found everything just adequate and I feel customers deserve better than this.

This restaurant is, deservedly, very popular with locals. But, as a solo traveller, in transit between Tobermory, Mull, and Exmouth, Devon, Amarone was perfect for a simple and delicious supper. The Salumi Misti, with a glass of excellent Italian white wine.

Nestled at the corner of Buchanan Street, we came across this estaurant by chance. It was a lovely sunny day and we asked if we could be seated outside. No problem. The service was quick and attentive. We ordered our meal and drinks which duly arrived quickly. Although our pizzas were tasty enough, our only real critisim was the mushrooms appeared tinned, they tasted rubbery, using fresh mushrooms would have resulted in a far superior pizza. Otherwise a nice meal in the September sunshine.

Visited here as a family of 6 to celebrate a birthday and we all had a great time. Don't think there was a poor dish between us, the king prawn starter being particularly good.

Booked this restaurant for our anniversary (55th) with a couple of good friends. I have been to Amarone on several occasions over the years but our friends have never been before. What a night we had - the food was superb they even catered for our friend who likes plain food and they gave her some pasta with her preferred tomato sauce. The service was second to none - everyone was so pleasant . They overheard us talking about our anniversary and they then came over with a complimentary drink for us to enjoy. Once again Amarone did not fail me - the lay out of the restaurant is so well thought out, the food was excellent - i had chorizo in a carbonara sauce my husband had the aberdeen angus burger and our other friend had the fillet steak which was cooked to his liking. I will not leave it so long until we come back - Keep up the standards

Beautiful, Clean and the food was delicious . The staff was amazing, helpful and kind. This restaurant is an must when visiting Glasgow.

Really enjoyed our meal. The staff were friendly and welcoming, the restaurant itself was amazing art deco style. The food was great and excellent value. I would recommend this place for a visit. I will be going back on my next trip to Glasgow.

I requested a table outside as it’s sunny and was called this morning to tell me that outside seating is first come first served, which I find to be bizarre as I’ve taken the time to book a table, but we went anyway and when I went to check in to the restaurant, the host said ‘you can go upstairs and have a look if you want’. Not exactly outstanding customer service, we were also ignored initially on arrival. Things started to look up from there, aside from the wobbly table. The mains were excellent and the service from Ian was outstanding throughout our visit. When desserts came we were back to square one, the chocolate moose was bland, boring and tasteless, an extremely lazy effort. The cheesecake was inedible, served in what can only be described as a tesco cheesecake style jar, the overpowering taste of Campari made the dish so bitter that I forgot what my main tasted like. I’d go back in the evening when it’s slightly less busy but a very poor visit.

When you walk in, the restaurant feels VERY upscale - the vibe, the servers attire, etc. But, the prices are incredibly reasonable. Once we saw that, we thought for sure that the portions would be small. We were so wrong. The portions were hearty and the pasta dishes were some of the best we've ever had! We had been in Scotland for 10 days, so decided we didn't need any more traditional pubs....and I'm so glad we landed on Italian. This place was delicious!

Shocking. On arrival the male staff member was very rude. My wife asked for meal without Garlic. He responded everything they make has the same base with Garlic. Very rude again make my wife upset! He wouldnt do a pizza magrherita without garlic. Shocking service...

Visited last night, ordered Penne Ragu, it was tasteless, barely warm and had about a tablespoon of minced beef in it. Wasn't even offered Parmesan!! The tomato Foccaca was like dough and horribly chewy. It really was a dissapointment. Certainly wouldn't rush to go back

I’ve dined in Amarone several times now as the food is always excellent. They have a great choice of wines and the desserts are to die for. The staff always go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and are vert attentative.
