Amaretto Ristorante in Renfrewshire

Went to this restaurant for lunch with our grandson. Service was very efficient our waitress brought a children’s menu and colouring pencils for our grandson. He had garlic bread and an ice cream to follow. My wife and myself had lasagne it came piping hot and very tasty. I would recommend a visit.

It was my mums birthday and decided to book a table at this restaurant as we have never been before, staff were friendly, we were seated at 1:30 and ordered our food, I ordered the Arancini to start, I felt it was a bit dry and there wasn’t very much sauce with it. We all felt we waited ages for our main so I asked the waitress and she said she would chase this up, she brought all the food out 30 secs later, the food wasn’t very hot, I feel the food had maybe been sitting in the kitchen for a while and when I chased this up, it prompted the staff to check the progress of this and noticed it was ready. We were asked how our food was but due to it taking nearly an hour the first time, we just ate it, we weren’t impressed, don’t think we’ll be returning I did notice it was extremely busy and there didn’t look enough staff

Good food and friendly waiting staff. After lunch we ordered a drink whie waiting for our lift and were told very rudely we would have to vacate our table within 15 minutes. Would I go back :absolutely not. Recommend:not unless you want to eat and run.

fabulous, food was excellent the salmon risotto outstanding, service perfecto. Be twix and between lunch and dinner would love to have seen it busier. My wife had Sea Bass with potatoes. She felt that it was not good value at £21 as it was just two small pieces and no greens which would have been extra. There were also some green herbs on top but these could only be described as "past their sell-by date" I had lasange which was very tasty but I was confused by the "chewy" texture of it. Then figured out that it was Mozzarella. Three days on and my stomach is not the same - who puts mozzarella on lasagne???

Lunch after walking, coming into Bridge of Weir after a 10k walk we looked around for where to have lunch and settled on Amaretto. Friendly staff greeted us by the door and got us a lovely table. There was a special brunch menu but we were in the market for something more, so pleased to find that the complete ala cart was available. Everyone's food looked nice and my Calzone Carne was definitely a great way to finish the walk.

Very nice food with fast service even when they were busy! No complaints!! All staff were very friendly too! Will definitely be back!

We were holidaying in the area and came to Amarettos for dinner on the Monday eve. We enjoyed it so much we came back again on Wed eve! Delicious food, friendly welcoming staff, great atmosphere. Thanks for 2 great evenings!

Very disappointing experience, I visited on Sunday 22/10/2023 with my wife - it was the first time I had been for a while and I was looking forward to it because my wife was raving about the risotto she had whilst there with friends, alas she was even more disappointed as this time round the risotto wasn't the same and she only eat one "spoonful". I started with the Mozzarella Fritti, which was fine and then went for the Penne Arrabbiata (with added Fillet Strips) but to be honest, whilst the sauce was okay the pasta and fillet strips were over cooked. My wife did complain about her risotto explaining how poor it was compared to that which was served on her last visit and this was deducted from the bill, but I had to ask our sever if any of the management team where interested in our experience before a manager came near us. All in a very poor experience in terms of food quality and service.

Beautifully decorated, excellent service and delicious food. Faultless! We drove past and noticed this place while in the area. Tired and hungry we popped in early and were surprised to find quite a few tables (mainly young families) already eating. The place is decorated beautifully-modern but with a coziness. The menu is great and caters well for children, too. We were all very happy with our dishes-two pastas and two kids’ fish and chips which were delicious! Chunky fish and light crispy batter. We enjoyed deserts too. One thing that stood out was the service-too often nowadays we find bad service when out for meals but it was so efficient and the staff very friendly and attentive. We really enjoyed this place and would definitely return if in the area Would definitely recommend!

Staff and surroundings were excellent, haven’t been in for a few years but the service and ambience were perfect. The food quality and selection was great. My wife has a nut allergy which was dealt with extremely well. Will now make it a regular visit for the family.

Ten of us visited on Saturday evening the 8th of July. Firstly, we were seated in the middle of the restaurant in long bench like seats pushed together, which made it very difficult to get in or out if you required. We had a couple of faccachia to start, which were overdone hard and crispy. Main meals very average with pasta portions on the small side for the over inflated prices. My bolognaise was very dry with little sauce. The drinks here are also very expensive with a pint of lager costing £6.00 and a glass of wine at £9.00. Overall, I was disappointed in the food and the prices . Won't be hurrying back.

Firstly, pleased there was a dedicated car park, albeit a tad tricky to enter from our direction. Well maintained and atmospheric restaurant. Friendly & attentive staff. Unfortunately the food was under par. Overall it tasted like pub grub .. the portions were poor and the pasta was straight from a packet. Quite disappointing really and we left feeling quite underwhelmed .. we will not be back.

My wife and I dined on the outdoor terrace at Amaretto last night, and while the food was perfectly pleasant we had to endure the boorish behaviour of a group of men at a nearby table, who had obviously had too much to drink, and who were loudly peppering their language with expletives.The young staff who came and went from the table were mostly female, and I do not really expect them to challenge a table of drunken middle-aged men about their behaviour, as they would obviously feel intimidated, but I would however expect them to relay their concerns to a member of management inside the restaurant and have them deal with the problem. It was very disappointing that various members of the waiting staff were aware of these individuals being loud and obnoxious, but chose to hide away from the problem and let other diners suffer instead. I commented on the behaviour to the waitress at the end of the meal and she said “I know, I’m sorry about that.” Well, if you know, you should have done something about it, it’s that simple.This was our first meal out since the start of lockdown, and it was also a birthday celebration. It was also the first time we had dined at Amaretto, and while first impressions suggested it would be a pleasant establishment to dine in, we were left feeling at the end of the meal that it is perhaps not quite as well run an establishment as it’s promotional material would have you believe. Not sure we’ll be back.

We have been to this restaurant a few times for special events and just a normal night out and have never been let down.Today a mistake was made, the restaurant was busy in fairness, but OMG the customer service that followed was completely awesome.We love this restaurant and cannot fault it - food is excellent, vibe is great and just what you need after pandemic lockdowns. Treat yourself to a night out - even with a mistake they made or night awesome and special. Will be back again and thank you for tonight. Above and beyond as always.

Lunch on Saturday with a lady friend. Carlo and the staff were very friendly and attentive. We shared 4 starters including the Seared Prawns and Focaccia Rosmarino which are always excellent. Very enjoyable afternoon and will be visiting again soon. Well done Carlo and staff 10/10

A 40 minute drive to "cash in on" an expired voucher (6 months) won in a raffle was rewarded by the highest standards of food, service, location and attention. Lunch menu and a la carte supplied a suitably wide range of dishes. Generous caprese and antipasti starters were delicious (although a greater variety of cheese might have been included).Lemon sole goujons and sirloin steak mains were finished off with Chocolate fudge cake, served warm with salted caramel sauce & vanilla ice cream.All in all an excellent location that resumed our "eating out" experience - a shame we do not live closer - it would become a regular for us.

I cannot review the meal since we never got as far as ordering.We booked a table well in advance and asked for an outdoor table. On the day the weather was absolutely awful, we didn’t want to cancel, so turned up at the allotted time, well wrapped upfor the weather. The gazebos were not nearly sufficient to cover the terrace and shield us from the rain, nor were the patio heaters on. Obviously they had no intention of serving outside. We politely asked if we could be seated indoors and were very rudely told that “No, it was not possible “ surely in the circumstances the restaurant should contact customers to inform them that their booking could not be honoured. I must add that this restaurant takes a £5 booking fee per person. Fortunately another local restaurant went out of their way to give us a table and the grandchildren, who had been looking forward to once again visiting a restaurant enjoyed a wonderful lunch . We shall certainly not be back at Amaretto despite living within walking distance of the village.

First time we went to this restaurant and definitely last one. Waiting time definitely to long over 1 hour, my child was going crazy, we was told child dinner is coming with our starter's, no chance she eat my starter, I got an email to leave table at 5.15pm but our main we got 5.20pm. Our booking was for outside on a saturday evening. Quite alarming that they expected everyone to dine in cold temperatures.You would have thought they would have installed some sort of heating appliances.It was not ideal, due to covid we had no alternative choice as everywhere near by was also fully booked.Definitely put a dampner on our anniversary night but we made best of a bad situation.All in we wont be back again.Staff did a good job considering the renovations. However it was clear that its desperate times to get as many bums on seats regardless.

First meal out with mum since lockdown and it was excellent. We’ve been here and really enjoyed the food before so knew it would be a safe bet. I had the Focaccia Roamarino to start which was delicious. A big portion so shared with mum who had the Funghi Ripieni. For the main, I had the Penne Cardinale - which was excellent. Loved the creamy tomato sauce. Mum had the Sogliola Fritta - which she loved too. We were too full for desert!The waitresses were extremely friendly and helpful. The tables, inside and out, were well spaced out and there was an abundance of signage around social distancing too. It was great to be back out, having a great meal and supporting a small business in really challenging and unprecedented circumstances.

Thank you Carlo and team. Although we enjoyed many delicious takeaways during lockdown, It was lovely to stop by and be back in Amaretto. The staff were friendly and relaxed given the new environment, and made us feel safe with the new precautions.It was very nice to be out and we throughly enjoyed ourselves. Our first family meal out since lock down. Food, service and atmosphere all great. They’ve made great use of the outdoor space and large gazebo’s mean, if our Scottish weather stays true to form, you won’t get wet. Bruschetta, Rigatoni and Tiramisu washed down with sparkling water ( yip, I was the driver ), were excellent. Tables booked in 2 hour increments, mean you have plenty time to enjoy the food....we’ll be back soon.Peter.

On our 4th week of home delivery deliciousness!Well organised and presented to cope with no-contact social distancing rules. The well packed Dine@home box had a comprehensive list of ingredients and cooking instructions. Looking forward to returning to the restaurant in due course but in the meantime this is the culinary highlight of our week.

Coming from Australia it was lovely to catch up with family at this charming restaurant. The food was excellent, portions were generous and service was friendly and welcoming.

My family and I are regulars in Amaretto and we always enjoy it, but last night we had a takeaway from them and I cannot complement them enough. This is the 3rd takeaway we’ve had in the last 5 weeks(from different restaurants) and it is the only place we will go back to. There is Antibacterial gel at both doors, social distancing has been perfected and Carlo was his usual cheerful self, making the very short visit more relaxed in these not so relaxed and unusual times. The meal we had was delicious. We will definitely go back for more takeaways while we patiently wait for the restaurant to open.

I had dinner here this week with two friends; we have all lived in Italy and were anxious to sample the Italian cuisine. We were not disappointed! The restaurant was warm and welcoming on a cold night; the décor tasteful and restrained; the service was friendly and discreet. We all had different dishes from the fairly extensive menu and none of us had a complaint. Food was well cooked and presentented. Complimenti!

Enjoyed a lovely 3 course meal with my husband. Seated immediately and drinks served shortly afterwards. We opted for the fixed menu and the food was both delicious and excellent value for money . Car parking facilities a little tricky to enter/exit however plenty of spaces available . Toilets small but clean. Good warm atmosphere and the excellent customer service added to the experience . Would recommend .

We had a fantastic day with the family for my daughter’s 21st birthday meal. It was a surprise and Carlos and the staff went above and beyond to accommodate us, there was 24 people in our party! The food, service and atmosphere was top class! I would and always do recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Great choice for our first meal of the New Year! Being the 2nd of January, there was a limited menu, in that there were no seafood/fish dishes due to the fishermen also being on their holidays. We were alerted to this as soon as we sat down, so had plenty of notice. I loved the fact that the guys were not willing to compromise on quality by using inferior produce. We had no worries though as they had plenty of choice and it was all absolutely perfectly cooked and presented. We had our vegan family members with us this time and they were also catered for beautifully having a couple of delicious vegan pizzas and then some delicious sorbet to finish with. The sauce on the pizzas being declared the best sauce ever! It’s lovely to know that we have somewhere local who will cater for all of our family’s dietary requirements, and so well. The staff, as always, were very attentive and friendly. A fabulous start to 2020.

Love this restaurant. The staff are always so pleasant and welcoming. We had our 4 year old daughter with us tonight and the manager paid her lots of attention and made sure she was well looked after. The food was brilliant as always. Nice selection for kids and my daughter loves that her cutlery is metal and has little animals etched on the handles. We enjoyed our visit and will definitely be back again

We enjoyed an excellent meal here last night. This has always been a good Italian restaurant with a wide choice of dishes to suit all tastes. Last night's meal was even better than usual with an extensive and imaginative Christmas menu as well as a la carte. My halibut was one of the best cooked pieces of fish I have had anywhere and the panna cotta dessert had a great wobble! Service was quick and pleasant despite a very busy restaurant. We shall return as it's by far the best of our local eateries.

Been to Amaretto on three occasions and it’s been quite good in all honesty. The restaurant is nicely decorated, clean, inviting and the staff attentive. However I was there recently with a group on a quiet week night and although the staff were helpful and welcoming as before the food was uninspiring. I had a penne pasta dish and I thought it average at best, a bit disappointing as previous two visits I had enjoyed the food. Well enough cooked but not a lot of flavour and some in the group reported the same with their choice.

We have been to Amaretto on several occasions and we have never been disappointed. The specials menu are so varied and always delicious, with a weekly cocktail option to “tickle the taste buds”. The staff are so friendly, and remember you from previous visits, and always make you feel welcome. The menu is very varied and is delicious, with options for different dietary requirements.

One of the best Italian restaurants I've encountered. Staff are very professional and have great menu knowledge.l had a prawn and scallop ravioli and being a sea food lover this provided an explosion of flavour.Haven't enjoyed a sea food dish so much in a long time,it's reminded me of an Arbroath Smokie in flavour and that is an all time favourite of mine.Carlo is the host and he can even provide inside knowledge on Italian football teams! Prices are very reasonable for the quality of the food I would recommend this place 100 percent.
