This place serves excellent South Indian food, with Nellore Chepala Pulusu being a standout dish. Overall, the quality is top-notch.

Finally found a home like food in Leicester. Biryani and Gongura lamb was just outstanding. It is a must visit place if you like south Indian food.

Food is below average and offensive smell from the toilet

Not recommended for dinner, they are understaffed, no one to attend the customers and waiters are super rude and would not think twice before being rude to you. No etiquettes at all. Food quality has gone down too. Very very poor experience especially with kids.

Have visited and had the pleasure of enjoying their spectacular non veg thali on two occasions with one of my best friends and I can wholeheartedly say it was the best South Indian thali I have ever eaten. Delicious, a wide variety of flavours and just wholesomely scrumptious 😋 😍 😊 highly recommended this little gem of a place.

This restaurant accepts payment in Cash only!!! This seems quite common in the area. The service and food options are good. The veg and non-veg thali is worth trying. Portions of food isn’t bad either. However the wash room is in the restaurant next door which can be an inconvenience. The restaurant is clean, however at one point while we waited for the order, we sensed a strong stench which went off in a few minutes. Not sure if we would still be there for lunch if it continued. Overall, an okay experience.

Highly recommend this place if you want to test the South Indian vegeterian food. I loved the Vada, Dosa and specifically the Filter coffee.

Great place to taste south indian dish

Yummy Indian food. Daal makhani and veggie koftas were awesome. Strong hint of hyderabadi masalas.

We had Gobi 65, dosa, idli, vada, Palak paneer and Andhra style aubergine in sesame based sauce. Vada was the best of all. Gobi was just spicy not much flavour. Idli was good. Garlic naan was top notch. Both curries needed a bit more seasoning. Overall good experience.

Asked for chilli chicken which was served completely raw! Didn’t realise until I tried a peice, when I pointed this out to them no apology was given and they disputed it. Avoid!!!!!

Clean good service delicious food love it

The food is always excellent at this place. The biggest let down is how filthy the door leading towards the wash basin, the wash basin itself and the men’s toilet. This is an eating place and the hygiene is disgusting. I hope this will be taken care off. As soon as is it will change this review to a 5 star.

Always friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Spotlessly clean. Food is yummy. Dosas are nice and crispy and huge.

The masala dosa is one of the best food options in Leicester - homely, hearty and consistently good. I have been eating at this restaurant for a number of years and have never been disappointed with the masala dosa - the potato filling is morish (I wish there was more of it) and the chutneys and sambar to complement the dosa immerse the taste buds with signature south Indian flavours. Another favourite is the Hyderabadi lamb dum biryani - beautifully balanced with the right amount of spice, fried onions and garam spices, complimented by raita and the often overlooked boiled egg. Each bite reminds me of my grandmother's biryani, a nostalgic trip that always leaves me satisfied afterwards. Some of their curries might not be to taste if you are used to north Indian/British Indian restaurant style curries, but they stick to their region and there's a few interesting dishes that you won't find in most places - try the lamb Chettinadu if you're feeling adventurous.

Lovely food in a small and welcoming restaurant. Lovely authentic meal in the heart of the golden mile in Leicester. Meal was lovely and the staff very welcoming . A good sign with an Asian restaurant is that families of Asians eat there meaning this is the place to be if you want some genuinely authentic food. Forget your usual madras, Korma go here and enjoy a proper Indian meal try something g different from the usual, you won’t be disappointed Eat here you will not be disappointed by the meal or the welcome you get.

Meeting up with friends in Leicester who took us to this Restaurant which serves South Indian food which we love. As travelling South by car did not want anything too heavy. Two of us had a Mysore dosa ,with very tasty fried fish for starter which was delicious and full of flavour. Husband has a chicken tikka,and friends had mince and peas. All prepared to very high standard.

Dosa was smelling horrible plates had finger marks and all and staff is very arrogant i came to taste food for catering thanks to the manager i will never come back and recomend

Really impressed. We were a party of 8: 4 adults and 4 children. It was refreshing to see that all the patrons were of Asian descent. The food was very "home style". The children had a khurma which they loved but they admitted it was very hot. The tiffin was excellent - I ordered the dosa and my wife had the varda. It was my first time in Leicester and, of course, first time visiting the Golden Mile. This restaurant is definitely well worth a try.

Busy restaurant for Sunday lunchtime, waitress unable to communicate clearly in English and as a result asked the what seemed to be the manager what the Thali consisted off. We placed our order and shockingly within 5 minutes our food arrived, my wife ordered dosa and the filing was luke warm, i ordered lamb biryani and it was cold. I called the so called manager over and explained the food was cold, he goes to the kitchen and brings out the temperature gauge, pokes it into the biryani and said it's fine and to their standard. We explained we like our food hot, he wasn’t interested, I said would he prefer if I left and in his own words his response was 'if you wish'. Gone are the days of respecting customers so we left and walked a few yards over to Chennai Dosa, whilst we had to wait 40 minutes for our food which we were informed off at the time of ordering the food was pipping hot as we expected with a very accommodating management team. Leicester has enough competition thankfully so the rude restaurantors need to be mindful of this.

Visited on Diwali Lights switch on day. The place was really busy but they managed to fit us in. The mysore masala dosa was delicious, as were the curries, rice and naan bread we had for mains. Very friendly service and good value for money authentic south Indian food.

Beautiful cosy restaurant with brilliant service and delicious meal. I have walked in last minute into this restaurant which has authentic South Indian dishes veg and non veg to choose from. Staff is very courteous and we were served within 10 mins. We order fish for starters and uthappa and Dosa for mains. Food was well presented, freshly cooked hot and delicious. We didn’t have time for sweet dish. Brilliant place to meet friends for natter.

This is the place where they need all respect from the customers and they won’t take Order upto 10 mins after seeing customers , they need customers to beg them if not they won’t serve the food , don’t ever try to make orders with this arrogant staff , may be the reviews are good but not the behaviour , *** give proper training to the staff*** if not u may loose your business. This is the advise from our side. First educated you’re staff to how to receive a customer. Then what you think about us we are looking like we are slaves or what? Bustards how dare you to talk like that , People knows abt ur restaurant go and check ur reviews hairs in food and all . Don’t try to blame people keeping mistakes on your side .

Iam really upset about there service.just imagine I traveled from Coventry to Leicester I was literally tiered while entering the restaurant there is not at all good receiving and not at all respect and instead of that there are expecting something from me . A great little find. Good atmosphere and some excellent dishes. Definitely recommend. 09/05/22 Came back after some time and was not disappointed. The owner/chap that manages front of house was super friendly and attentative to all the customers. Service was spot on and the food was excellent. We had Chilli Pan er, Prawn 65, Cheese Dhosa and a few others. Would definitely recommend as one of Leicester's finest South Indian Restaurants.

We went as a family for Sunday lunch. My dosa had hair cooked in it, with a piece sticking out. I politely pointed out rather than making a fuss. The waiter took it away, Manager never came to apologise and then charged me for it after saying sorry at the till. The arrogance n rudeness is unbelievable. Disgraceful. My family is never going there again.

The dosas were excellent and the accompaniments were freshly made. We also had some chicken 65 which was crisp and just the right amount of spice for a South Indian dish.

A good place to go for authentic South Indian cuisine to try out on Belgrave Road. We had veg thalli and Mutton Gongura both are absolutely delicious and lamb is perfect cook. The portion for the price I felt is moderate to expensive, but taste is worthy. The place has dine in, takeaway options. The food and ambience are both great. The only negative I felt is that it is cash only, no cards are accepted. The toilets are also not great and they are not accessible friendly. Otherwise I would give 5.

The taste of the food is very authentic, decent customer service. I ordered for a collection and it was ready on time.

I have been to many places in my life and will keep going to as I am avid food lover. However this place has surely given me terrible customer service experience. I mean how in first place you get treated like this. I ordered a paneer tikka masala on waiter's recommendation. Upon arrival I had a small bite of it and I found a hair curled nicely into paneer which makes it apparent that hair got into while preparation however I was accused of it being my hair. No Apologies regarding this instead being told I was looking for free food. SHAMEFUL OF SOMEONE TRYING TO RUN A PLACE AND GIVE CUSTOMER SERVICE. WE THOUGHT OF TRYING THIS PLACE ON COLD CHILLY WINDY DAY WITH TWO LITTLE KIDS. WE WERE INSTANTLY MADE UNCOMFORTABLE AS I FOUND HAIR IN THE DISH. THE WAITER KEPT BUSY GOING TO OTHER TABLES AND COMPLETELY IGNORED US ONCE WE WERE DONE WITH OUR OTHER MEAL WHICH WAS DOSA AND IDLY. HE LEFT US WAITING FOR LONG TO CLEAR THE TABLE AND GET THE BILL. Absolutely amazing. The food was delicious and really filling. For the huge portions the prices are very reasonable and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

I had chicken biryani and lamb biryani in the restaurant and it was very tasty. I can clearly feel the taste of Indian spices. The table beside me were talking to the owner very rudely even though he is talking very calm and the way they came to the cash counter and complaining about the dish is really creepy. I really appreciate the staff patience towards the customer even though the customer is talking rude. Really impressed by their service. Loved to be there again

This is how you reply to the customer who gives bad reviews for your restaurant. Have some ethics in responding the customer reviews. And if you had spoke well and calm the reviews would have been good. Very poor irrespective service

The most worst, unprofessional,unethical,unreliable restaurant I’ve ever visited and the worst was it was on my birthday. The food was yuck and I pucked all the way home. I told the management politely that the food was stale and so filthy that the co -owner who was staring at me from the time I entered into the restaurant literally pounced on me with filthy language what was bad about the food. He was so impolite and impatient that I was shocked and experienced worse birthday ever because of eating there. Please never visit this restaurant as they don’t know what customer satisfaction is, how to treat a customer and how to respect ladies apart from how to cook food properly and not to use stale meat. I had worse stomach ache and vomitings from the minute I had the food inside. Be aware guys!!!! I am attaching the invoice of the transaction just to let all know this is a painful a Dan genuine review. My hard earned money wasted and my health ruined.

My favourite spot on Leicester!!

Poor service, not flexible at all... Were more keen to get us out as it was almost their kitchen closing time (not restaurant closing time!). No baby changing facilities. The toilets are through their back of house and shared with next door it seems...were filthy.

Went here last night for dinner having taken a stroll down the “golden mile”. First impression - pleasant looking restaurant, friendly staff and other diners having a good old time. So all of that 4+ The main scoring on a restaurant is the food and that is where unfortunately we had not so good a time. Starters were ok chilli prawns, a tiffin with masala potatoes and a chicken tikka. Scores 3 for each ok but nothing special. The tiffin was however attractive and something I’d not had before. The main courses were not so good - we had four different dishes with rice and bread and apart from the colour they all tasted the same - bland no real flavour that set them apart. I had an extra hot dish and even that didn’t have a kick or any flavour. We didn’t have deserts so can’t comment. Could be that we are blessed with great restaurants in our town or it could be ours are English Indian / Nepalese and our tastes don’t fit traditional South Indian fare. However different curries that taste the same is not for me.

Nice south Indian restaurant, great for non-veg and vegetarian options. If you want only vegetarian try Dakhin also one of my favourites. Both are authentic south Indian restaurants.

Amazing South Indian Food. We ordered Vegetarian Thali it tasted very good. After a long time felt like having proper south indian food outside. It had Dosa/Parotta(Choose 1), Rice, Payasam, Appalam, 1 starter, 1 Poriyal, Sambar, Rasam, Puli kuzhambu, Curd. Everything tasted very good!

Brilliant place! Gave us a taste of authentic Telugu food. The wait was a bit long and as the restaurant doesn’t accept cash, we had to sort it out. The staff were helpful to find us a table after saying it might be a wait time of over 1.5 hours. The taste of the thali was brilliant. The parotta was especially brilliant and noteworthy. The only downside was the gonkura lamb dish that we ordered. It was too oily and didn’t taste that great.

Fantastic restaurant with an even better menu to choose from ! Service was very good . We went to the restaurant just when they were closing for the evening with about 15/20 minutes spare and they welcomed us , and served piping hot flavoursome food within minutes !
