Located in London's most exclusive and exciting dining neighbourhood. Formal decor and ambiance with dark wood. Professional but friendly service. Creative menu but not to the extent that form is over substance. Food is delicious and tasteful.

The food was fine; the service somewhat over-attentive and intrusive; loud music in the dining room. The cuisine here is still competent, but it took a step downwards when highly-talented Alyn Williams was recently sacked - apparently after an unsanctioned social event. Diners who book this restaurant should expect a fraudulent call - using the telephone number they provided to the hotel when booking their table, claiming that the '£50 deposit' that they paid when reserving the table was not refunded. The person operating the scam then asks for your credit card details 'to recredit the card.' When I said ''but how do I know that you are genuinely from The Westbury'?, they swore at me and hung up. Not a great feeling. We took the trouble to let the hotel know, but they were completely disinterested, and kept us waiting so long that we eventually hung up.Would we return? Absolutely not. There is something not quite right here.

I took my mum to AW Restaurant on Saturday for a birthday treat - it is a beautiful restaurant with helpful staff. I thought the menu choice was limited - with a taster menu or Saturday lunch menu. For a michellin star restaurant I would expect more choice. The food we chose was beautifully presented. My mum enjoyed the food which was the main objective.Our reservation was good experience until the day after - when I received a strange phone call on my mobile advising they were calling from AW restaurant regarding my booking - the caller knew the time and date of my booking. They stated my deposit payment was not refunded (which set off alarm bells straight away). The person continued, advising a refund could be put back on my card if I gave them my card details. I immediately told the caller I do not give my card details over the phone but I will ring back the restaurant to discuss. At that point the caller became abusive and hung up. I immediately rung the Westbury hotel who just advised it was not them who called me. I told them I knew it was not them but I was concerned how this caller obtained my phone call and booking details. Hopefully they investigate the situation. Overall experience. Restaurant and food was lovely just be careful of any strange phone calls offering refunds. Would I return to the restaurant alas the answer would be No

Ate here as a group of five and none of us -- even those with dietary challenges -- were disappointed. Eight perfect courses with wine pairings and service beyond compare; what an experience. A coveted tour of the kitchen afterward and an introduction to the chef topped it off. Can't wait to return.

Great staff, and overall dining experience, this restaurant has superb food and great wine menu to match the food. This restaurant offers fine dining at the highest level!

We celebrated Valentine’s Day, starting in their excellent bar and progressed from there to a fabulous dinner. Very well presented and delicious. The Chablis was good and reasonably priced. The service was attentive without overdoing it. In short, we enjoyed the occasion ( and one another) immensely.

This was the best meal I have ever had ... We had a special menu prepared by Charlie and his team with wines to match. Every detail was thought about from the home made butters to the beef dish with different cuts of meat which were meltingly favourful. An experience not to be missed.

What a disappointing evening we had and worse when you are paying £££ for it . Bland from the word go. Dissapointing that there was no thought on the Gluten free appetisers 3 of the same come on you are a Michelin Chef .... but then we did of course discover after that it is No longer Alyn Williams at the Helm. At no point were we informed of this, It was one of those meals you just wanted to end . Feel very cheated

Tuvimos una comida increíble. Todo fue excelente y el personal y el servicio son de primera clase. Teníamos el menú de almuerzo de 3 platos y mi única decepción con toda la experiencia fue el tamaño de la porción de la carne de venado del plato principal. Era una chuleta de venado muy pequeña, que podría haberse comido en un bocado pequeño. Dicho eso estaba delicioso. Hemos comido aquí antes y la porción de carne nunca ha sido tan pequeña. Todo lo demás fue excelente. .

I would have given 5 stars but for the fact that the excellent and interesting dishes mostly arrived lukewarm which my only criticism. All the flavours and presentation were perfect. Great friendly service.

This is only my fourth Michelin star restaurant, but it wouldn’t make my top 30 dining experiences. I had high expectations but unfortunately these were not met.

I have little to add to my review last year, only to say that the standards of comfort, food and service in this restaurant continue to place it at the top of the list for lunch in Mayfair.

We visited for Christmas dinner and the food was outstanding. That said, what topped this experience was the gracious service by Jerome. One of the best hospitality professionals I have ever met and I have met a quite a few! Thank to Jerome for magnifying the culinary experience through the front of house.

We were guest few weeks ago and it was perfect for us (except the weather outside :-) ). Every meal was really delicious. Also the services were very friendly and competent in advising. It was very pleasant for us. Thanks again for this experience.

Fantástica celebración sorpresa para mi mujer del 40 aniversario de pareja en nuestro viaje a Londres. Restaurante muy agradable dentro de un bonito hotel de lujo. Comida muy buena que merece sobradamente la estrella Michelin que tienen. Personal fantástico con mención especial a la chica de Madrid y al sommelier italiano. La relación calidad precio del menú lunch de mediodía es un 10. Gran detalle en el postre al obsequiarnos con una tarta de cumpleaños. Y todo fue tan redondo que mi mujer al ir al lavabo se encuentra en la entrada a solas con Hugh Grant en persona, todavía está alucinando. Seguro que cuando volvamos a Londres repetiremos.

Seasonally driven dishes boasting bold flavours and a skilfully light touch, married with great staff and friendly service, make for a memorable experience. Highly recommended.

We visited for lunch on a Saturday, and tried the 3 course menu. The food was generally quite good, and with a few extras thrown in (amuse bouche, petit fours...), it was a good deal for the set price of £45. In contrast, drinks were aggressively priced with most wines by the glass costing over £10 (for 125ml), and £17 for a cocktail.

This was our 5th time to have tasting menu with matching wine here. This is one of the few Michelin star restaurants we repeat to visit but maybe this was the last visit for us. They always served food with wow factors when Alyn was the head chef but not this time. I don’t mean the food was terrible but we just didn’t see any magic this time. Some dishes were bland, too salty or served cold this time. I would be surprised if they can maintain Michelin star next year. We didn’t know that Alyn had left the restaurant as they still keep his name for the restaurant. I don’t understand why they keep his name after the hotel sacked him. Very misleading for Alyn’s fans.

The luxurious setting and excellent (highly professional without being stuffy) service was all that could be expected, certainly lived up to Alyn Williams at the Westbury's name and reputation and as such much enjoyed. As was the wine and wine choices. Not so the food. And after all, it is in the end all about the food. The latter, though splendidly served and plated, proved disappointingly to be, while albeit cooked well enough, more than a little bit bland, with - perhaps to compensate - one or two exceptions: a rather salty deep fried cod bone, and overly bitter first dessert sorbet. Though this might have passed without comment or second chances given in an aspiring restaurant, not so in one that claims Michelin stars. It was certainly unexpected and very very surprising.

Very good meal... handled celiac food allergy perfectly with unnoticeable compromise of food quality.. will go back

The food here is very interesting in an uninteresting way. What does that mean? It's not easy to articulate, but so I shall.

This is still a great place to eat and overall remains my favourite London restaurant. The reasons for this stay the same - the service is superb and this visit sommelier Constantine (and apologies if incorrect spelling) provided us with especially good service and some wonderful wines including one from Lebanon, the ambience is great and for the quality of the food and whole experience the price is very reasonable compared to many restaurants for dining of this calibre.

We had booked a chef's special. A glass of Prosecco followed by a 5 course tasting menu. The fish soup first course was a little bland. The second course was unusual with toasted cauliflower and a cauliflower puree - very nice. The main was a pigeon breast which was brilliantly cooked. The dessert was a caramel pie which was delicious. Good advice from the sommelier and good service made for a lovely lunch. The room itself is very elegant and we were very comfortable.

Such a shame that Alyn is no longer working at the helm of this once wonderful restaurant. Alyn is a phenomenal chef. The Westbury lost a great one...

Another lunch visit to one of our favourite London restaurants, this time for a bespoke 5-course menu. The usual impeccable service, lovely room and tables, and knowledgable wine advice. The amuses, Oregon Pinot Noir, and coffee and friandises were admirable, but we both felt that the cooking was not up to the usual standard - good but not great, and not of Michelin Star quality. Alyn Williams seems to have left the kitchen despite his name still being used as the attraction. Disappointing and not good value; there are better alternatives.

Great location right off Saville Row. Tasting menu with wine pairing for lunch. Wines perfectly complimented each course. Attentive, but not obtrusive, service provided by staff who obviously know how to do their job, as they did it quite well. Service was not rushed. The dining room itself is gorgeous; modern and tasteful without any hint of ostentation. After dining I was invited back to the kitchen to meet the staff who created my exquisite meal and was able to thank them personally! This was one of 3 restaurants I specifically booked in advance before my holiday and it did not disappoint. I will return on my next visit to London.

A wonderful experience. We had the vegetarian tasting menu which was superb however we were allowed to swap in fish for some courses. Artwork on a plate and staff so friendly and professional. Even got to tour the kitchen at the end of a fabulous tasting meal.

We went here for my mother's birthday, my dad thought the menu was excellent. I thought the tasting menu was fine, nothing exceptional. Far too many consommé, jus with each dish.

Having a great restaurant isn’t just about the food. The food is great by the way, I can take or leave fine dining generally, but this was something else. We had the 5 course lunch taster menu, and it was ridiculously fab. The space is gorgeous, unfussy, slightly retro, calm, their trump card however is their staff. Staff were knowledgable, professional, smart and witty, they really were the coolest bunch of people. A faultless experience.

OMG - I think I just ate the most wonderful meal of my life! I have reviewed many places, but this place is over the top! My wife & I ate here for our anniversary and it exceeded ALL our expectations. The flavors and textures were astounding. I can’t do it justice trying to explain what was placed on the table.

Fabulous restaurant with lovely decor and staff are just wonderful with so much knowledge on food and wine.

The westbury tends to be our go to restaurant for special occasions and it never fails to please. Having said that we have in the past eaten there for Saturday lunch whilst on a shopping trip.

We went for a relaxing Saturday lunch and had a most enjoyable meal. The front of house team are excellent, great knowledge and very welcoming and friendly.

We attended the restaurant today for lunch for our anniversary. What a beautiful place and setting. The staff were extremely professional and friendly and the food was incredible. We had wonderful starters and mains and all courses were absolutely perfectly presented.

Having been amazed at the outstanding quality of a lunch we had at Alyn Williams earlier in the year, we returned with high hopes for another meal. We were not disappointed!

The food at dinner was beautifully cooked and presented but accompanied by heavy strong flavoured sourdough bread which overpowered the scallops. No white bread alternative, only ‘gluten free’ which was even stronger and chocolate colour. My wine was topped up before I could stop it even though I had said I wouldn’t be drinking any more than initially poured. Much as I love chatty waiters there was one who had 2 very loud and long conversations (in Italian) with the table nearby which were impossible to ignore. Plenty of staff but a long wait for the bill, normal but irritating. Not enough to spoil the meal but there are so many alternative venues.

We had the tasting menu with the wine option, every course was amazing, presentation was really nice and the food cooked very well. The staff were great; friendly and informative and the whole operation was very slick and well managed. Lots of nice touches, we really enjoyed the kitchen visit. A credit to Alyn.

Went for long Saturday lunch with sommelier selection of wines, every course amazing added cheese course with Port, duck, canapés , fish courses wonderful, can really recommend a visit fir the menu. If you don,t like one course then change for vegetarian course.

We had a wonderful dining experience at Alyn Williams. We had a 5 course degustation menu plus all the extras. I think my favourite was the fish with the Smokey white beans but everything was delicious.

The restaurant at the Westbury Hotel is surprisingly relaxed and informal for a stared establishment. Plenty of room between tables and service from a mostly young group of waiters was professional and attentive, but not overly so.

Alyn and his team of superb chefs and front of house never disappoint. Halibut and Lobster courses were exceptional!

My partner and I had a booking for saturday lunch and we were immediately greeted by attentive, professional staff. We ordered the tasting menu, but as my partner isn't fond of shellfish, without fuss, we were allowed the vegetarian amuse bouche instead. Alyn himself brought these to our table and it was a pure delight to see his enthusiasm and passion for the dishes. He explained each ingredient and preparation of each dish with such care and pride, that it immediately made us feel very at home. Each of these were superb.

We recently celebrated my 50th birthday with Alyn Williams at The Westbury and I have to say the food was the best I have ever tasted. Great selection of food, not too over complicated in terms of ingredients and amazing tastes. Elegant surroundings and impeccable service. Would highly recommend.

We were visiting for a few days of cricket at Lords from stunning West Wales and thought we had found a very talented Welsh chef in the very heart of London. Little did we know at the time that Alyn was a born and bred Londoner, but obviously with some Welsh roots somewhere.

We had an excellent 5 course meal with Champagne and a Kitchen tour through an on line deal. The cooking and service was excellent.

we selected the 5 course meal - every course was delicious - the champagne jelly dessert was sublime. the service was excellent - overall an excellent and memorable experience . And on the top of that we got to meet Alyn Williams - it was a pleasure to meet the man who is the backbone behind creating such wonderful culinary experiences - and a very pleasant and humble person.

We have been in many michelin starred restaurant but this one is in our top 5. We loved the athmosphere, service and food. Highly recommend.

Delightful meal with friends to celebrate my wife's birthday: great food, attentive service and knowledgeable sommelier. We had the set lunch menu and we can recommend both the beef tartar and lobster tart starters whilst the mains of plaice and lamb were also very tasty. Both desserts were also admired by our party. A nice touch was a "Birthday surprise" - their a la carte "Snickers bar" for us to share. We also had a tour of the kitchen and met the talkative head chef and his friendly brigade!

Alyn Williams at the Westbury is one of a handful of Michelin-starred restaurants that does a vegetarian tasting menu. Although not advertised on their website they will also do a vegan tasting menu by request which we enjoyed this week. As you would expect of a Michelin-starred restaurant, the food was sublime and the service faultless; there were too many exciting flavours, colours and textures to describe. All I can say is that if you are vegan and looking for a superb dinner and dining experience then you will be thrilled and entertained at Alyn Williams.

We had the 5 course tasting menu. Once the waiter had established our likes and dislikes the chef went ahead and prepared a surprise for each of the courses. Excellent!

My husband and I celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary at Alyn Williams at the Westbury. We have always been fans since seeing Alyn at Petrus many years ago and our experience at The Westbury didn’t disappoint. We had a glass of champagne to start, followed by the 5 course tasting menus with wine flight. It was gorgeous from start to finish, the food was delicious and the Greek sommelier selected some really interesting wines. The team gave us an additional dessert of salted caramel tart with “happy anniversary” piped in chocolate - a lovely touch. The highlight of the evening had to be going into the kitchen and meeting Alyn. All in all a wonderful evening. Great value for a Michelin star restaurant with food of this quality.

The service was very professional but very friendly and welcoming. It was an absolute pleasure to meet Alyn Williams himself as he served the starters. Brilliant customer service all round. Took my wife to eat at Alyn Williams at The Westbury to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and made us feel very comfortable. The food was excellent, everything one would expect from a 1 Michelin star restaurant.

Service was fantastic. Everyone was extremely polite and refilled drinks as soon as they looked empty.

I went to this restaurant for a celebration with a friend and I found it as a very nice place. We opted for a testing menu and food was simply amazing and delicious always combined with a great wine suggested by the staff. What major made this dinner unique was the excellent staff that I found very professional but also funny and focused on client’s happiness.

This was part of a package present , and it could not have been better if it were booked as a private dining experience ! Every mouthful of each of the seemingly endless courses was a culinary delight , from the tantalizing amuse bouche to the gorgeous chocolate finale . Attention from the charming staff was perfect , a rare treat in any restaurant . THANK YOU Alyn Williams ( AND team ) MOST sincerely for creating such a wonderful experience for us , which hopefully we shall repeat on a near future occasion , and will MOST certainly recommend to others .

Had an amazing lunch at this wonderful restaurant, we chose the tasting menu’ with wine pairings... top notch!!!! Starting from the amuse bouches( foie gras, truffle arancini,etc...), wonderful baked bread and goat butter, three amazing appetisers including a stunningly fresh scallop tartare with grapefruit granita...follow by a sexy poached lobster tail and caviar, a superb halibut with hazelnut and brown butter hollandaise( so delicate...), pork jowl that was melting in the mouth ,

Strongly recommend the set lunch at Alyn Williams. Particularly the Halibut - melt in the mouth and sauces to die for. Loved the amuse bouches. Great cheese board - well worth the extra. And a special mention to the staff yesterday (11th) - very friendly and attentive without overdoing it. Perfect. I know this isn't cheap dining but easily worth 3(? )times what you pay at an "ordinary" place. Already looking forward to going back.

A family meal to celebrate a birthday.

I cannot really see how this was rated with two Michelin Stars. It was not as good as my last year experience. Very disappointed this time. The food was not appertising and quality of cooking and taste was quite poor.

On occasion of our wedding anniversary we went for the tasting menus. Came with a Glas of Champagne and kicked off with an excellent amuse gueule. All the courses were delicious, including the salted caramel cake on the house. The evening was topped by a very informative and welcoming tour through the kitchen by Alyn himself. We would highly recommend Alyn Williams to Michelin gourmets and those who just want to have great food with impeccable service.
