I live in Arizona and came back to Southwick to visit my parents. It was late Sunday afternoon, and I went to buy fish & chips in Southwick Sq but they closed at 4pm. Two doors down is Ali Baba. To be honest it didn’t look great from the outside, but I gave it a go. I ordered the large Chicken kebab with rice. I was very presently surprised when I got it home and opened the takeout container. It was well presented with an excellent fresh salad, and large lumps of chicken breast on white rice. It looked good, but tasted even better. The large, is a big meal and mine was outstanding. I will definitely be back !

Well prepared, clean tasting and authentic kebabs. The chicken is superb quality. It’s how you’d imagine proper cuisine would taste in it’s country of origin. Even the chips are worth a mention, which are excellent and the salad is always fresh. Paid several visits over the past 6 months and will continue to go here. The orders are always made in good time but it can be busy on weekend evenings, testament to how good this place is. Staff are very friendly and polite. Overall an amazing experience

It is waht it is... a caf that has gone a little upmarket with its food. Had a really good chicken kebab for lunch with brilliant HOT chilli sauce. My 4 year old had great value childrens meal then asked to see the kitchen, which they allowed! One beaming child... Proper coffees too from an espresso machine.

Absolute rubbish. Stupidly overpriced, rude staff and poor quality food. Order large doner kebab, cost me nearly £12.00 and was truly terrible, I don't mind paying more than the average of the quality is good, but this is not the case. Absolute crap

Great tasting food, amazing value for the portions you get and staff are so generous! Got to be the best kebab shop in West-Sussex! Located in the heart of Southwick it's constantly busy with calls from customers and kebab goers waiting for their juicy, succulent food.. The food is always 10/10, never once over the many years of coming here have I been left disappointed.. Customer service and speed of delivery is always brilliant 👏🏼 5* Would recommend based on overall experience 👍🏼

If I could give zero stars I would! Me and my partner popped into Ali baba and decided to get a chicken shish kebab each! When we received our food it was the most dry tasteless yet over seasoned chicken I’ve ever eaten! The bottom was full of grease and the lettuce tasted about a week old! I genuinely couldn’t eat this without heaving! They claim it’s cooked on the coals but no grill marks, covered in dry stodgy seasoning with no flavour which looks and tastes like it’s been cooked in a giant pan for hours! £17 for two kebabs I feel like I’ve been scammed! We called to speak to them and they said it’s the best seller for over 10 years.. Absolute shambles, don’t waste your money or time! The disappointment was so real.. well done Ali baba you’ve made the worse kebab imaginable!

The lady(loosely said) told a customer to f*ck off when there was still 40 minutes before it closed, it’s a Friday night and they shut at 23.30 and the time was 22.50...when he asked for a chicken shish kebab. She bravely said this when he’d left the shop. Eh? What? That is no way to talk to a customer. She then started swearing at me when I questioned her behaviour. Avoid at all costs. Obviously there is a reason why they’re 156 out of 180 odd in the area, avoid. No one should speak to anyone like this. Outrageous behaviour... awaiting the response I can’t respond to, avoid.

Truly awful. Tasteless plastic looking and unfortunately,tasting kebabs with cheap, nasty greasy sauce. Staff disinterested, and so were we after opening the box. Not ever again. Co-op over the road though!

The food is very basic the burger is plain with no salad or onion in.the chips were ok and you got plenty of them.wont go back here anymore as you have to wait ages to get served.very poor service and very poor quality food.

Small quantity very very inappropriate food please avoid this place. The meat was uncooked and raw spice instead of cooking was microwave heated. rice very small portion charged excessively bread was cold

Fuimos allí para una hamburguesa de pollo y patatas fritas. es un tipo básico de cafetería, el personal aquí es amable y la comida promedio. volvería aquí las únicas 2 cosas que me impidieron dar este 5 es la mayonesa en la mesa estaba pasada de moda y la hamburguesa de pollo era poco hecha. pero es un buen lugar para obtener algo de comer si en Southwick.

Vino de Eastbourne anoche en un viaje con la familia y había buscado una buena casa de kebab en Brighton. ¡No nos decepcionó! La ensalada era fresca y muy bien arreglada, el pollo estaba delicioso (y yo soy hija de un carnicero, ¡así que tengo estándares altos!) Y la cantidad en cada kebab es extremadamente generosa. Patatas fritas estaban cocinados a la perfección y el servicio muy amable. Mi marido y mis hijos han tenido kebabs antes y calificaron Alibaba altamente, mientras que a la edad de 45 años, este fue el primero. Muchas gracias.

Good delivery time and service but distinctly average kebab. I see reviews saying "colossal" size, "three days to finish" and "best in years". I ordered a large mixed kebab. It was fine - comparatively much smaller than other restaurants, slightly cold. The chilli sauce tasted like gravy. The chicken was cut twice as thinly as usual shish (hence half as much). The lamb was good quality. Average meal and in my opinion truly not worth eleven pounds. Please feel free to try them though, you may have a completely different experience and I hope yours is larger/warmer/better!

Good delivery times and I nearly had an Ali baba myself when I I opened the the polystyrene container to reveal piping hot mixed kebab. it was about the size of my size 11 boot. It took me nearly two days to eat it.

Customer service on phone and delivery time were both great, but the quality of food we found to be extremely disappointing. The chips and chicken nuggets meal was stone cold and the chips of a poor quality. The onion rings were soggy and stuck together and the kebab was very poor. The meat was not like any other shish kebab i've had before and the pitta bread was soaked in grease. I picked the kebab up and has grease running through my fingers so would not eat anymore. Payed £47 and all i ate was a couple of chips, cold nuggets, and soggy onion rings. Disappointing.

Amazing meal from Ali Baba, everything was piping hot and very very tasty. The chicken kebabs are the best we have had in a very long time, even the presentation of the kebab was great. The chips and onion rings were lovely and hot, plus the chips weren't the soggy skinny ones that normally come from a lot of kebab places which was a lovely surprise. They even took the time to call us to let us know that it would be turning up 15 minutes early. We will definitely be making Ali Baba our go to place whenever we fancy something other than a Indian or Chinese from now on. I highly recommend this place.

I'm very fussy and put down a few personal adjustments and they got them all spot on. Added free sauce i forgot to order and lovely fresh salad. A shame to mention it really as was impressed but the chicken shwarma kebab meat wasn't quite what I was expecting. It was more like pulled chicken? Very large portions. Which is a good thing.

great quality chicken and very generous portions

worst kebab I've ever had. most artificial tasting meat I've seen, like razer thin slices of spam. my friend had the chicken donner which was more of the same. garlic sauce was gross, chili was very vinegary unfortunately don't understand the high ratings, won't go again

The doner kebabs we ordered were not only delicious, they were absolutely massive! Also a very nicely presented portion of hummus, garnished with fresh herbs and cherry tomatoes. Great value and service, we will definitely order again.

Best Kebab I've had in Brighton and Hove Always quick delivery. Fries much the same as other similar places, but with the added bonus of them being sited and not soggy.

Such a shame, tonight our food was dreadful!! We all had chicken and not one of us could eat it. Also the flatbreads were so dry you could use them as a frisbee and probably kill someone in the process.. not sure what happened tonight as we are usually really happy. It has certainly put me off chicken for a long time and the rest of the family.

Ordered chicken Burger and chips, the fat was either old or chips were just burnt. Not nice really.

We ordered a regular size chicken and falafel kebab. They were delivered exactly on time, was piping hot and huge portions. The falafel and salad kebab was beautifully presented with lots of salad and falafel. The chicken kebab was delicious and a more than generous portion of chicken in it. The salad was fresh and crisp. The chips were still piping hot which was great. Cannot fault it and will order again very soon.
