Bought fish chips and a haggis supper. The small fish is ideal for my mother as shes a small eater now so it's a great portion for her

Really needing to have customer service training for staff - no pleasantries, foul language from staff, no whites on, no hair nets, bad attitude all round and chips were hard.

This fish & chip shop is now closed and has been for several weeks. Alfie's was a great fish & chip shop with a huge reputation locally for its pizzas but, sadly, he wasn't paying his bills and was forced to close.

Took my payment but nothing turned up at the agreed time, never answered the phone. Did a runner, feel ripped off.

reviewing the Carluke one, but it was actually closed and we used Lanark.. everything was still hot when got to Overtown, just proves that Alfie cannot be beaten for a good fish supper

The chipshop has went right down hill went for 2 fish suppers 2 weeks ago and when the girl was putting the fish into the box I noticed for the big fish supper she was giving us 2 halves of fish so I asked her why we were getting 2 halves she said that's how it come so I said sorry but if you don't mind could we please have a whole fish then to be told from who is the owner if you don't like 2 halves of fish I can F-OFF and go somewhere else very nice way to talk to a customer as I was leaving there was a wee old man that had heard everything that was said to me and he walk out to if the 2 halves of fish had maybe been a nice size then I would have maybe thought about taking them but they were so small and for the price he is taking it is disgusting now I no why the chipshop round the corner is always busy and you get 2 whole fish in there fishsuppers.

Fried food is very greasy. Not nice tasting. Very poor service. Overpriced. No good chip shops in carluke. Poor quality and too expencive. Avoid

Used to be the best pizza around but the quality is now well below average. Undercooked pizza with really thick cheap cheese. Seems like they have lost interest in the business since my last visit

Food is exactly what you'd expect, nothing special, just input. Having been here several times over the last year I'm always taken aback by how miserable the staff are. I've yet to see a single smile, and that's even after long waiting periods! You'll be waiting 10 minutes for just a fish supper, no preparation goes on in advance of customer demand, some might think they're after the "freshly cooked" approach, but seems a bit futile with this sort of basic food. On my first visit, I had the audacity to ask what type of fish was available, and the girl just replied with a vacant stare and the gem, "whut, it's fish". Good job there's not much competition in this wee town...

OK. Dear for what you are getting. round the corner is 5% cheaper and the portions are slightly bigger. Food quality is always good.

A great take away. The "make your own" pizzas are fantastic, freshly made with plenty of topping. Chips are lovely and fresh and a generous portion. Busy at the weekend but worth the wait.

well worth the drive from Overtown, been going here for a few years now the food is excellent and the quality is consistent, the batter on the fish and the fish are always the same, the portions are fantastic, just what you need in a good fish supper, don't forget the mushy peas.

Hadnt been in a while due to poor service from girls serving, went recently to find it still the same. All staff look so miserable and unfriendly towards customers. Definetly wont be back.

No use Alfie's sobre una base regular, pero cuando lo hacemos nos pide el pescado especiales y separadas de seguridad de patatas fritas. Como esta comida es preparada mientras espera está caliente (y no grasienta como algunas tiendas chip parece que logramos hacer). No he probado otros alimentos pero sin duda volveremos por el pescado especial. Personal ocupado, aunque en la tarde, han sido cortés y eficiente.

I like the coulors of the walls inside the chippy and the workers are very fast and I am a great fan of the various munchie box offers that have been avalable recently alfies pizzas are amazing and none of the food is ever dry or burnt or over cooked king ribs, sausages and smoked sausage are always nice and juicy prices are reasonable and coustomer service is exemplary

Cold Hard chips reheats ? Fish cold and inedible ! Fritters cold and soggy Had to throw all in bin £9.70 down the drain ,

I don't visit Alfies often but every now and again I'm with a group of friends/family who want a fish supper from them. Supposedly it's good but any I've had are pretty average. Every time I've been there I've had to wait ages to get my order, doesn't matter if I've ordered over the phone or walked in. Tonight was the same experience and I've finally had enough to write this review. I ordered over the phone for 2 pizza's and a fish supper to which I was told 20 mins. Knowing they have always been late before, I left my house after ~20mins for the 2/3 minute journey. When I arrived I asked for my order and was told to wait a few mins. After 5-10 mins I asked again about my order to which someone asked the pizza chef about it. From the frantic movement and checking I realised that my pizza's were not put on yet. I was then told my order would be 2mins, an obvious lie at which point I phoned my wife to say I would not be home to put my son to bed, on Xmas eve. After about 10mins I eventually got my order and the pizza's were roasting hot but the fish was luke warm. The base of the pizza was really soft and the sauce and cheese kept slipping off it as I tried to eat it. I was offered 3 vouchers towards a free pizza but I can say these will never be redeemed as I won't be back.

Every Monday is Pizza Specials with half price Pizza.Food is always good with a standard range of chip shop goodies.Kebabs, pizza ,burgers all served with a smile.

The Special Fish Supper is as good as you will find anywhere. Freshly cooked and huge portions.Add salt and vinegar --- delicious!!

This place has went down hill. Terrible attitude of the 2 young girls on the counter who were making faces behind the backs of the other staff in the shop. My order was simple but too for ever to get ready. Too long a waiting time and my pizza was well and truly burnt!! I have been using Dario's round the corner and thought i would try Alfie's for a change - bad idea. I wont be back.

Found the fish greasy and chewy. Must be really cheap fish. You are given two fish and a pile of chips far too much. Expensive probably because of the cardboard box it comes in. This was the new Lanark branch of Alfie's . Won't be returning.

This place is very good and must rank top as far as chippy's go . Excellent choice of pizzas as well as usual fair. Good portion size, great kids menu and chicken wraps are excellent. Hits the mark every time .

Great pizzas and they are always on special every Monday. Well worth a trip. They have also opened another shop in Lanark.

On this visit the "Special" fish was distinctly ordinary and the chips were dominated by scraggy ends which were warm at best. Service was abrupt.

Simply the best in the area - chips are fantastic and there is almost always queues at peak time. Stone baked Pizzas are excellent and are good value.

We use this chip shop regularly and view it as one of the best in the area, certainly the best in Carluke. The service is fast and friendly and the food is always fresh and plentiful.

This is one comprehensive take away menu , you would be hard pushed not to find something you like from here and the food is delicious . very well priced and lovely staff

This is the best chippie in carluke. We have never had a bad supper from alfies and the grease doesn't drip off the chips or any other food like other chip shops in the area. If you're looking for a good chippy visit here.

Can always be assured of a good fish supper, friendly staff, piping hot food always on offer, a must visit when being in Carluke.

Fish suppers quality reasonable but varies on home delivery between v good ,and dry and mediocre letting them down

It really is the best place in Carluke. Such a varied menu and the pizzas are the best I have ever tasted, and I know my pizzas!! Better than Pizza Hut and Ask Italian. They're not heavy and doughy, they really are just perfect and you can have any combination of toppings.

You will not beat this place for Fish Suppers, Pizza or a range of eats. Magic! The special fish supper is tremendous

Alfies fish is always tasty I personally think it's the best chippy in the area and will continue to use to satisfy my chipshop cravings

as chippies go this place is brill serves quality fish and chips really well cooked and presented and there is always friendly banter with the staff and the owner Alfie would reccomend to anybody.

Great chips, quick and friendly service, staff are happy to keep your fish in a seperate box from your chips, wish we had a chippy closer to us but it's worth the short journey!

Never had a bad dinner from here. Best chippy in miles. Always fresh food, and Alfie, the owner, is very chatty and helpful.

Every time you get a takeaway from here it is brilliant. Really love the veg pakora and and portion is huge . Kebab to die for .....

Have never yet, after several visits, been served by a friendly person. Each visit enraged me by the could not care less attitude of staff. Have ordered home deliveries and have yet to receive my full order - although being charged for full order. Why do I return - my family enjoy the food!

Fresh and very taste full will call again when in the area. A busy shop but the quick turnaround made a lot of difference Good quality food at some places can cause delays but not here.

Touring the Lanark Area we called into Alfie's Take Away in Carluke and found the staff helpful and the fish supper fresh made and very good will call in again when in the area.

We use the delivery service occasionally and find it efficient andthe fish quality excellent.On collection visits we find the Owner/Fryer to be chatty and friendly.

Got a takeaway from Alfie's for myself and my niece the other night. Gotta say service was great, it was a speedy delivery and the food was good!! My niece didn't complain once lol.

good quality food, similar priced to other local takeaways.Only downside, parking can be hard to find a space at times, we usually leave one of us in the car double parked in the nearby car park while the other nips into the shop.But that does not detract from the food. service quality !

Alfie is a cheeky, friendly, chap, with a multitude of awards for his Pizza's, this is our local and we are in it once a fortnight or so and have yet to find fault with any of the food for quality, quantity or price. Happy eating

I go to Alfie's on a regular basis, sometimes too regular. He always uses top quality produce, some sourced locally. The shop is open seven days and the staff work tirelessly to serve customers as quickly as possible although the shop is often very busy especially at weekends. If you want to avoid queuing a home delivery service is offered but to be honest it's worth the wait, if you don't like waiting go round the corner as they're never as busy but then that should tell you something. The favourites in my house are the fish, chips, pizzas and the homemade coleslaw. I would definitely recommend.
