Anniversary evening with friends Authentic atmosphere ,excellent service ,really friendly attentive staff and delicious food. Highly recommend Alborz Restaurant to friends and family... truly a hidden gem. Certainly will go again soon.

Food was beautiful, lamb chops kebabs chicken all super tender. Nice nan bread hummus and all the starters very good 👏 we were a party of 16 and the service was good 😊

Brilliant food and service from Somi. Highly recomended. We had the meze for starters which was enough for 4 followed by two number 25 which is chicken skewers with rice and salad and two number 31 which is minced lamb and chicken.

Newly reopened restaurant has a warm and family-friendly atmosphere with a comfortable seating and great view from windows. The food was top notch - freshly cooked to order and full of flavours and great tastes combinations. Menu has options for vegetarians and vegans alike! Also Gluten free! The Fish dish we had was outstanding and the best we ever tasted, with melt in the mouth texture and beautiful spices! Great choice of soft drinks as well. We dined with our wee one and they enjoy all the meals as well! This place is greatly recommended and a one to come back to many more times to explore all the menu! Best of luck to the team and the owner!

Had a wonderful meal at Alborz this last weekend. Charming restaurant and very friendly staff. The food was well priced and absolutely delicious.

All the starters and kebabs were great quality and taste. So will definitely be back. Its not a full blown restaurant, more of a café sort of vibe. Plus the kebabs would have been better if served with some side sauce/dips. A bit dry for my liking. For example, some Persian places also have a tomato based sauce served warm. Not sure what it is called. These guys didn't have anything.

As soon as you step in you experience the great hospitality and friendliness of the Iranians...then comes the food! Being Italian it is not easy to be fully satisfied with the quality of food here in England but this restaurant just over exceeded my expectations. The service and the food were just superb! visited with my parents son and wife. very welcoming and spot on honest authentic food! Had the mixed kebab and garlic yoghurt. the flatbread cake on a tree and was huge and a perfect addition!

Have driven past this restaurant for many years. A friend recommended it to me saying the place looked a big like a school canteen but this should not put us off. We received a lovely welcome. The food was delicious & cooked to order. There is no alcohol license so bring a bottle & pay a corkage for the use of their glassware. As this place opens at one or at three it is perfect for a friendly lunch & catch-up with friends. The prices are reasonable which is a bonus!

A small family run and extremely welcoming restaurant. Lots of vegetarian and non veg options at a reasonable price. The food was good and the waitress who served us made us feel extremely welcomed, and gave us recommendations as we have never tried Persian food before. A truly fantastic customer focussed experience in a very friendly and warm and welcoming restaurant- highly recommended- many thanks from us all !!

Alborz is a cute little Persian restaurant that serves fantastic authentic Persian food. I would definitely book in advance and reserve seats as it’s only small and gets booked up very quickly! We had the alborz special mix grill which included saffron rice and freshly baked taltoon bread (hugeeeee bread). The meat quality was incredible and so tasty. The chicken was cooked to perfection and succulent. The steak was so soft and effortless to cut into. This was also served with salad and a yoghurt dip and two grilled tomatoes. This was more than enough for 2 people to share. We ordered baklava and saffron ice cream for dessert. The ice cream was so creamy and garnished with pistachios which added the perfect crunch. The baklava was nutty and crispy and went really well with the ice cream! One of the best Middle Eastern restaurants we’ve visited to date ! Check it out if you’re in Manchester!

I was travelling from the airport to the city centre, looking for some good food I found thois lovely place in a bit run down area. The more I was surprised by the excellent food and warmhearted service. The Alborz is absolutely recommendable.

Lovely Persian food plus great service including lots of menu advice. Only a 15 min bus ride on the 192 from Piccadilly. We'll definitely be back.

Excellent middle eastern/ persian food . Mixes mezza starter was a amazing conbination of flavours. Aubergine was particularly good. The deezee lamb stew hit the spot great winter food. Lamb was so tender. Full of flavour. Excellent service. Lovely to have something different. The ghormeh sabzi main was also wonderful cooked with kidney beans and dried limes.

Very welcoming staff, we were running late and the waitress kindly waited for us. The food was so lovely, very rich though so my friend and I couldn't finish our plates! Each dish was very rich in flavour, our tummies were content. The waitress also gave myself and my friends some recommendations which we both very much appreciated (the olives were delicious)

I visited here, for a family meal with wife, and my son and girlfriend who live in Manchester. I certainly have a liking for Middle eastern Food, though I had never eaten Persian food before. The food was delicious, served at such reasonable prices, it was hard to believe. A particular favourite at our table was the fragrant Rice dish Adas Polo. There was a very good choice of vegetarian, and I assume vegan options. The Service, was deligthful, friendly and attentive. I definitely want to return the next time I am in Manchester.

A lovely, unassuming little place serving Persian food. I am not too familiar with it but the menu is very explanatory and the food is just amazing. It has a feel of a place where it’s cooked with love and as it should be. I will be taking the family next time, confident that even the slightly picky children will find something they’ll like.

Excellent food and service. The only down side was that we had to,pay cash- really, in this day and age?

We have been there a last year with our friends. I believe that the quality of mince kebab was reduced rather than last year. Mince Kebab had fat smell and it was very heavy but the Kabab Barg was fab and the marinade was very good. Good point is the serve of dish was same as before.

11 of us attended for a reunion dinner. Very friendly waitress, EXCELLENT food, reasonable prices, lovely atmosphere.

We just ate here for the 4th or 5th time. The service is good and the food has always been great. My husband always has kebab, and I’m working through the menu.

Food and Service were excellent. The place was very beautiful and calm. We saw so many international and local customers there which in turn shows everyone likes their food.

My wife and I ended a day visit to Manchester with a visit to Alborz Restaurant. Koobideh Kabob (minced lamb grilled kabob) was probably the best we have had in the last few years including Iranian restaurants we have been two in Berlin, Cologne, Paris, London and Brighton. Welcoming attitude of the staff made the visit a thoroughly enjoyable dinner.

We came here for a birthday meal and the food was delicious. I had the Okra and it was great. There are plenty of options for vegetarians. The staff are very friendly, will definitely go again

I’m blown away by this place. The interior is charming and cute. The staff were just wonderful, our waitress was so welcoming and explained the traditional way to eat certain dishes in such an unpatronising way. The price is incredible, we had so much food we ended up with two tables and it came to £12.50 per person! And the food........ simply out of this world. It was authentic, fresh, absolutely everything I had hoped for. Try the Deezee or the Alborz Grill for two.

This unassuming restaurant is a Manchester gem. Aside from the warm and friendly service, this restaurant serves some of the best “home-cooked” Persian cuisine I have ever tasted - and I have had the pleasure of eating authentically cooked Persian food at homes and in restaurants across the globe. Although I’m sure the ubiquitous Middle Eastern grill offerings on the menu are perfect, it’s the unique Persian dishes upon which me and my three guests intentionally focused on this visit, our first, to Alborz. The large “square” of still-warm freshly backed Taftoon Flat Bread with the ME/Mediterranean staple Hummus, northern Iran’s famous Mirza Ghasemi (smoked aubergine with garlic) and Masst-Khyar (yogurt and cucumber dip) followed by shared mains of Gormeh Sabzi (deliciously slightly tart herb stew with succulent cubes of lamb), Fesenjoon (another - but subtly sweet - stew of pomegranate paste and crushed walnuts with pieces of de-boned chicken) and Zereshk Polo Morgh (a “dry” non-stew tender and extremely tasty saffron and turmeric infused chicken-falling-off-the-bone dish accompanied by barberry rice) were all sensational and the Baghali Polo (rice with saffron, dill and broad beans) was probably one of the best samples of this traditional dish that I’ve tasted. And I could go on and on about the other side dishes we ordered, including our simple but sweet dessert of Persian Doughnuts, syrupy Baklava and Persian Black Tea. How on Earth we missed this restaurant last time we were searching for Persian cuisine I will never know. A visit to Alborz is an absolute must!

We were lucky enough to find a table on a lively Friday evening in this thriving restaurant. Dishes defined by their intense flavour and immaculate presentation were well received by all. Indeed, the high quality of food was eclipsed only by the outstanding service provided by courteous and knowledge staff.

I love this restaurant so asked them to cater for my party at home for 30 people. The service and planing before the party was very professional and the food was perfect. All my guests who has not has Persian food before all loved it and were asking where it was from. I would highly recommend it

Incredible food, incredible value for money, incredible staff.

2 of us went on a Saturday night, although booked a few days before. The restaurant holds approximately 20 people and is a lovely relaxed atmosphere with friendly staff and we were chatting with other diners.

Incredible value for money, incredible and authentic Iranian food, and wonderful, friendly service. The portions were also very generous and I've come home with leftovers for tomorrow.

Lovely food, lovely atmosphere. Proper authentic Persian experience. Not a bad dish on the menu, massive portions, but my all time favourite has to be the dizee. I could eat it every day! Fresh bread is perfect. Try all the starters, especially the kashke badamjan, and make sure to drink lots of Iranian tea after. Transport yourself to a little Iranian Oasis and imagine yourself sipping tea on the Caspian Sea. Bah Bah!

We wanted somewhere to eat before a gig at the Ethiad stadium that wasn't located in central Manchester. After searching I found Alborz and following good reviews decided to give it a go. We were not disappointed. The food was delicious and the service was great. It was the first time we had Persian food but it won't be the last. Would definitely recommend

We visited this place today on Sunday I was following this place on Instagram, although we live in the Midlands we travelled up to Manchester and I tell it was a pleasent experience, very good food and service, as it is a relatively small place, you need to book in advance, it was massive thumbs on from us to them

We had a great early dinner at Alborz. Me and my sister had an amazing starter platter that came with delishes bread. We shared the main fesfajoon that was delicious. an amazing mix of sweetness from pomegranate molasses and ground walnuts,

Thanks to my friend who spent half of his life in Teheran I had a great opportunity to visit this place. It's fairly small but very welcoming. We had some lamb shank with broad bean rice, it came with lovely homemade gravy. Chicken Kebabs were succulent and flavorsome. I never had a chicken which was so perfectly cooked. Aubergine starter and hummus were outstanding, all served with fresh bread. We finished with saffron ice creams and Persian tea absolutely delicious as the ice creams are homemade. This place is family run and you can feel it. I will definitely be back.

A little gem in Manchester where from the starters to the Iranian ice cream you experience the best of Iranian/Persian food culture. Treat yourself.

Always really lovely to come here for dinner. The food is super tasty and fresh and the staff are very welcoming and friendly. Definitely one of the tastiest places to eat in levenshulme. Also, it's byob so not too pricey. All in all, a great place to have dinner!

I can’t resist. My brother was visiting from Scotland and had to take him here the food is excellent, so is the service and the prices very reasonable.

I've been to Alborz a handful of times now. The service is always warm and friendly, and, for the more curious of us, the staff take their time to offer up advice, explain how dishes are made etc. which really adds to the dining experience.

The staff are great the food came piping hot, the service was polite and efficient, now here is where I think it was a bit average the portion size was good but more salad and less meat. The humus was Devine, I asked for the food to be a bit spicy but wasn’t but I will give this place another go maybe chefs had a bad day.

A lovely, friendly environment with a menu that caters for different dietary requirements. Would definitely visit again if the time comes :)

We stopped on the way back to Sheffield from the Trafford Centre. A cosy restaurant with good service and great authentic Persian food. We shared a sabzi, herbs, starter with bread and some ab dhoog, delicious! For mains I had vegetarian Alborz jewelled rice with garlic yoghurt and Zara had kebab, rice and grilled tomatoes.

My sister and I Visited for an early dinner on 2nd May, Levenshulme is not in our usual stomping ground and so was a trip advisor find following reading the great reviews. We were very impressed too with our starter of dips and Taftoon bread (which is to die for). We chose to go vegetarian, I had Gheimeh Bademjan (Aubergine & Lentils in tomato sauce) with Saffron rice and my sister having Akashi -E- Bademjan ( grilled Aubergine with caramelised onion). Both these were tasty and filling all courses served by a helpful and friendly waitress, the restaurant has 5 stars for hygiene and I would award 5 stars for everything we had too. We aim to go back to try some other dishes and more of the crispy Taftoon bread and I would definitely recommend to try this little gem.

We visited Alborz this evening to celebrate my son’s 3rd birthday. The food was absolutely outstanding and the wonderful service made his birthday celebrations extra special. We can’t wait to visit again. Thank you so much for everything.

Have been here twice and would come back every time I am in Manchester. It is made for family dining. The bread is great, there are several types of rice and the barberry and the dill versions are very good. The flavours are subtle and it is definitely worth several visits. The staff also make it a good place to go.

This was my first visit to a Persian restaurant and was accompanied by my brother and sisters (one of whom has been here three times !) and needless to say Alborz didn't disappoint.

Dropped by for a lunch and it was worth the ride from Manchester, very very good food! Cant remember the name of the food, but we had some six different dishes and everything was very well cooked and tasty! Lovely staff as well!

We have eaten here many times now and would highly recommend a visit. The restaurant is quite small and cosy and very welcoming. The menu is extensive but I usually end up having lamb and rice. The breads are huge and the Persian tea delicious.

Had a great meal here on Friday, all the food was fantastic and extremely tasty! My girlfriend had the Sea Bass, came whole on a sizzling platter and was very good...

I came to this restaurant to celebrate my birthday with family. After visiting before I decided my parents would love the meal. As expected, everything was superb and the meal was enjoyed by everyone, including my very picky younger brother! I would recommend Alborz to everyone. The price is great, and it is bring your own bottle, so the bill is very pleasantly surprising!

I arrived at this little Persian restaurant by chance with some friends, and it was a great discovery. Food is 100% home-made, fresh and with great taste (bread was THE best), staff was super helpful when we has to choose from the menu and they made us feel really confortable, we even stayed a little longer in order to talk to them!! It is not in downtown manchester and you may need to invest some time to get there, but DEFINITELY WORTH IT!!

The food was good and everything on the menus is in Iranian and English. Very clean and organised and ample seating and dining.

I just LOVE this place! I come here at least once a month with my friends, the food is amazing, the portions are big and the prices are ridiculously low! Family place, couple place, friends place.. You name it. Perfect atmosphere, especially thanks to Nafiseh (hope I got the name right!) who makes everyone feeling at home. Absolutely recommended also for vegan and vegetarian!

We've been coming to Alborz for just over a year now, and we've never had a bad expeience. It's the opposite, everytime we visit the place, we cannot wait for the next visit. In fact we ate here on Sunday and the following tuesday (last night, we kept ordering after having the mains, as it was just delicious), we are going again in 11 days .

We had seen a Persian dish being cooked on television and became curious, so we headed out to the Alborz restaurant to sample this style of cooking.

An absolute gem of a find and our go to for a gorgeous meal. We’ve eaten here tens of times this year already and will continue to do so, we are yet to have one even slight issue. Service is always with a friendly smile and exceptionally tasty food brings us back time and time again. Thank you for being so wonderful.

Fuimos para la Cena del sábado. Lugar estaba vacío, excepto por un grupo. Pedimos la mezcla que incluía humus, aperitivo de queso feta y otros aperitivos persas. Tuve la pierna de cordero con arroz verde. La carne estaba muy tierna y sabrosa. Las porciones eran grandes y abundantes. Tomamos el té con cardamomo. En general, la comida estaba por encima de la media y el servicio era genial.

We came for my girlfriends birthday for dinner. One of the best Persian spots in my opinion. I am a big fan of their Fesenjoon. Best I've ever had. Other dishes eaten included the chicken/lamb fillet kebabs. Also exceptional.

No encontramos el lugar ideal para una visita familiar. La calidad de la comida o la preparación tenía algunos problemas como nos sentíamos tan pesadas y tenía dolor de estómago durante unas horas después de comer. La mayoría de los restaurantes persas que he visitado son mejores que las de este lugar.

Fuimos basándonos en las críticas que leí y la comida superó mis expectativas. Las porciones son grandes y bien presentado y llevado a su mesa con un miembro muy amable y personal, pero la estrella del show es el sabor! Recomiendo encarecidamente el estofado de veras que tiene la deezee cantidad de teatro involucrados que añade una fantástica experiencia. Muy ansiosos de ir allí de nuevo.
