We love this small but perfectly laid out restaurant. The food here is always a cut above the rest with veg that are steamed to perfection and some of the best soups that I have ever tasted from a restaurant (“it’s all about the stock” says the cook, Ronnie). The atmosphere is relaxed and kind too with always time for a pleasantry or two. They also cater for my food intolerances and will cook off menu when needed which is a bonus. We highly recommend this eatery; service, value and atmosphere are all very high.

Such a lovely relaxing experience with music quietly playing in the background. Would definitely recommend a visit. The food is lovely, all fresh and plenty of choice. Haven’t tried the desserts but they look amazing. One thing that touched us was the welcoming, friendly environment. Will definitely be going back anytime we’re in the area.

Called in initially just for a coffee to kill some time but the choices on the menu was so lovely I decided to have lunch. I decided on curry and having said I only wanted rice with it I was offered homemade bread instead of the chips I'd turned down. The food and service was superb and friendly and the tea room itself was spotless and very relaxing.I'd definitely recommend it and will return.

I like to think I'm a breakfast connoisseur. I like a Full English and I like it right: good bacon, beans in a bowl, Lincolnshire sausage and a nice fried egg. Hash browns are optional but a potato based item is essential. Grilled tomato, not tinned but not bordering on raw.

We stumbled across this lovely tea room after shopping nearby and we're so lucky we did. A lovely welcoming on arrival from very attentive staff. We only wanted a hot drink however their array of sweet treats beckoned us. What treats we had (all homemade, we were informed). My husband had chocolate and vanilla bread, butter pudding with ice cream & a coffee. I had earl grey tea and scone with the works. Presentation was beautiful and the taste was meltingly mouth watering, probably the best we've tasted. We highly recommend this little gem a visit. Thanks guys, we'll be back

We visited today and just had two simple starters with drinks. My husband had mushroom soup, sounds simple but it was freshly made packed with mushroomy flavour, obviously homemade with fresh ingredients, served with large slices of granary bread and butter. I had sun-dried tomato and mushroom pate which was serviced with crisp bread, homemade chutney and a rocket salad with strawberries, grapes and drizzled with balsamic vinegar dressing. The whole dish was fresh and full of flavour. It was a good portion with subtle layers of flavour.

My friend and I wanted a light lunch in this market town but didn't have any where in mind. We parked in the market square which was free apart from market days, a good start.Wandering down the one main street we came upon this tea shop. Our immediate impression was that it had to be Italian judging by the music and decor. We were the first lunchtime customers and took a seat by the window. The menu was just up our street : ciabatta with goats cheese and a delightful marmalade based pickle, light green salad with grapes and strawberries, earl grey tea served in silver pots that didn't dribble; the portions were perfect for our small appetites, we reordered more tea and spent a delightful two and half hours talking and not being hurried to leave. Other regulars came and went, all enjoying their lunches. I spied a mouthwatering display of home made cakes and desserts. I chose slices of a lemon tart to take home and each portion was presented in its own container and a strawberry, placed in a carrier bag.On questioning the waiter the staff weren't Italian but felt the menu, decor and ambiance were in keeping with the market town. Even the flowers were fresh which I think is always a good sign. Now I have found the tea shop I will return and recommend it to friends and family. They do a Sunday lunch but only if they have enough prior bookings. Will give that a try next time.

Seeing the reviews and speaking with people we know in the area we decided to have lunch at The Albion Tea Room on our recent visit to Market Rasen for an evening at the races. First impressions were that it is a lovely traditional tea room, something you don't find every day. The place was extremely tidy and clean and the decor is done in a tasteful way.The staff are very friendly especially the waiter who brought over the menus and took our order, he was polite and gave that little extra you don't always find.So far my review would have been 5 stars but unfortunately it starts to disappoint from now on.First of all we were given 3 menus which strangely were all slightly different, as they were printed sheets this would be something easy to get right. We found the selection of food to be very limited and rather outdated, not in a nice "olde worlde" victorian tea room way but in a 1990's Jacket Potato with beans and cheese way.It was good to be offered a smaller child's portion of the specials on the board and this to be honest was the best of our choices, Lincolnshire sausages with mash and a nice gravy, a yorkshire pudding (frozen I guess) and some veg (which was very unimaginative). We also had a toasted ciabatta with goats cheese and chutney which was ok but really just a very flat toasted cheese sandwich. And I had the aforementioned jacket potato which was very small, totally obscured under the beans with some grated cheese and the side salads were equally as outdated and all presented in a "tea at home in front of the TV" sort of way. Looking around it seemed we hadn't just made poor choices all the meals looked about the same.I don't want to sound really down on this place, the building is lovely, staff and service great and with a new menu and some imagination this could be a super little tea room.

Looks and tastes fab every time! Our cooked breakfasts this morning were delicious. We asked for a couple of slight variations on the norm, and chef was very willing and able to produce exactly what we asked for. We found ourselves passing through Market Rasen at lunchtime and needed a a light lunch. Good fortune lead us to the Albion Tea Rooms. It's small but light, clean and tastefully decorated. Thispleasing first impression was immediately reinforced by a cheery greeting from the staff. The menu choice is limited but the food quality is good. My beef and stilton sandwich was accompanied by some lightly dressed and certainly fulfilled my needs whilst my wife declared her jacket potato with cheese the best she had ever had when eating out. A nice touch was the grated chocolate on top of the capuccino instead of the usual sugar sprinkles. Perhaps this isn't much to make a judgement on but many establishments cannot get even such simple food right. We noticed that the people eating cooked meals round about left absolutely nothing on their plates whilst one lady went as far as to buy further pieces of the frangipane cake to take home with her. These are all commendations in my book.We wouldn't hesitate to return to the Albion in future or to recommend it to others. If only every town had sonmething similar!

Lovely tea room, very vintage, quaint and good facilities. Good Latte coffee. However, no prices on cakes display, which was a sting when paying as came to £12.50 for 2 coffees and 2 cakes. Slightly pricey as paid £7.50 for similar the day before in another tea room plus offered a free refill for the coffee.

There is a nice atmosphere and the 2 times I have eaten here the staff have been very friendly and polite. The cakes and deserts are definitely the speciality here and you won't be disappointed. The food itself is a little hit and miss. I ordered a prawn cocktail and was served badly freezer burned prawns :-( I just couldn't eat them and thought it was pointless sending it back. The owner/ chef knew what he was sending out and so it wasn't worth it. My partner did enjoy his lamb dinner, the gravy tasted like your standard bisto mix but the mash was very nice and there was enough to fill him.. Even if I had to go home for a sandwich..I probably would try once more.

We visited this restaurant on Saturday morning in October for coffee. It was quite busy. We were served by a pleasant and efficient waitress and enjoyed conversation with the part-owner. On enquiring if they were open for Sunday Lunch the answer was 'Yes', so we booked. We enjoyed an excellent Sunday Lunch, very nicely presented, with excellent quality meat and adequate vegetables; and followed by scrumptious desserts! Again the service was quick, efficient, and pleasant. The chef circulated among the customers and people seemed very satisfied.

Cheerful, friendly, a great selection of cakes and good coffee. Good selection of cooked food too. Beef sandwiches were superb with a really nice salad. Next time we're on National Cycle Route 1 we'll certainly call again!

We went in this tearoom by chance for a late breakfast as we were too early to check into the hotel we booked. The staff were really friendly, the food was delicious and the place was spotless. The price was reasonable as well. Even the other customers were friendly , I wish we lived nearby I would probably go in all the time.

The Albion, on Queen Street, is a gem of a place - spotless, delightfully old-fashioned, and with charming service. The lunch we had was very good - wholesome without being full of carbohydrates, and really nicely presented. It catered for us all - omnivore, coeliac and vegetarian - and there's a disabled access at the side.

We have lived in Rasen for 12 years and have only popped in the Albion Tea Rooms on a couple of occasions for a cup of tea but decided to have dinner there. After being greeted by the charming waitress we decided on the roast lamb dinner. It was one of the best lamb dinners I have eaten. The service was excellent and we will be returning soon.

My husband and I visited Market Rasen on a Monday. It was a quiet day but this place looked inviting and very clean. We were very surprised at the trendy presentation of the food. It was very tasty and the service was excellent. We would definitely go back again if we visit Market Rasen pity it is so far from Skegness.

Have visited Market Rasen a few times this year and each time was very disappointed to see the Albion closed, so I was very pleased to see it reopen a couple of weeks ago. I have never been in a better tea room nor had such a tasty Christmas dinner and such a friendly smiling welcome, see you again soon!

My friend and I visited on the day of re-opening after what has seemed like an ENDLESS closure, due to family health concerns. The owners are training a chef and various waiting staff in their own exemplary standards to enable them to continue in a mainly supervisory role and for the venue to be open seven days per week. As it being their first day of re-opening, the staff-in-training were a little unco-ordinated but I am sure this will improve will time. The food was as good as expected, the atmosphere ditto and all I can say is HOORAH-HOORAH-HOORAH The Albion is open again!

After all the great reviews we have tried to go here many time in the last few months but it has always been closed. So either I have been going at the wrong times or people are making these review up. It's very sad that such a place is closed and doesn't look like it will be opening anytime soon.
