Hidden little gem! Great vegan food too with loads of options! 100% recommend, service can be a little slow sometimes but it's well worth the wait so we never mind and you never wait too log for drinks so you can cosy up with and have a chat which is nice! Best Vegan Pancakes I've had so far!

Best experience at a great value!

You would not know this fantastic café was there. We received a warm welcome from Aaron, had a great proper breakfast (the Samson) which was delicious(FYI the samson was only one of a great range of breakfast options). This place is popular and reasonably busy. Great value for money takes bookings. There is some parking at the rear of the café and in some of the side streets otherwise it's quite difficult to park as the main streets are all clearways. But we'll worth the effort 👌

I came here for a breakfast before my tour bus, and the staff is super friendly and helpful. I realized i didnt have enough time after placing my order, so asked if i could remove some of the food i ordered, and they did with no problem. I still got my tea toasts and porridge, and the porridge was the best one i ever had (and I have traveled the entire emerald Island). Thank you so much for understanding, help and outstanding service :). Cheers

Been here a few times over two years and can say it's yet to disappoint, fantastic value for money and top quality food £8.00 gets you a full fry with tea or coffee, hard to beat and the service is amazing highly recommend.

This cafe serves as part of the youth hostel next door, although its quite a large seating area of around 100 people it fills up quick at popular times - it's an all day breakfast so whats the hurry! If you're on a tight budget or curious about what most of the locals have eaten this is a must try!

Honestly, I love this little cafe. It has been a frequent date spot for my boyfriend and I and the top choice of cafe for my friends and I when doing uni work. The menu is large and quite affordable and has a lot of options for vegan, vegetarians and those who are gluten free and the coffee has always hit the spot.

Good value for money breakfast. Couldn't even finish it. Proper cafe. Only one person working the tables. Go up and order the food yourself and not too much of a wait for it to come

Ate breakfast here for 3 mornings, while staying at the YHA hostel. Great choice of glute-free & vegan food. Friendly & quick service in a cosy cafe.

Simply sensational pancakes I collected to enjoy at home for Pancake Tuesday to dress in my favourite endless toppings 🤤 They even made these vegan, soy and gluten free and have something for everyone!! 😇Their food has always been simply faultless, staff always super helpful and unbeatable value! For variety of food options too, their menu is absolutely HUGE - nowhere like it whatsoever!! They're the best!!!! 🙌🏼

Wonderful vegan options! Close to bus depo

The best fry in Belfast, especially for the price. The Samson fry is their “smallest” fry and it is huge. The staff are amazing and good craic. Can’t recommend this place enough

I love this place. It has a cool vibe, and the food is generally very good. It has become a regular place for me to visit - for a veggie fry - and it has yet to let me down.

A really good place to have a full breakfast or lunch with LOTS of vegan options. The Titanic Breakfast is massive with so much food it's insane. The hot chocolate was ok but it was more like a lukewarm chocolate. However there was lots of it which is good. Service was relatively quick and very nice.

The food was incredible, and the people were lovely! Has a real community vibe about it, well worth seeking out.

Good ulster fry, great service and in a good location

Called in yesterday morning for a breakfast with my family. My sister is a coeliac and we always have issues finding places that are 100% gluten free. Causeway Cafe had so many options including a full gluten free menu and they had many other items that are gluten free. Our breakfast were very filling and one of the nicest frys I have ever had. The servers were so friendly and helpful and the cafe itself was nicely decorated, clean and cosy. I would highly recommend this place to anyone coming to Belfast.

Everything is perfectly toasted and fried, with a delightful crispness. It not greasy at all. So happy that I came here before flying out! Building my own breakfast is a little more expansive than the set, but customization is fun. It’s my first time trying the veggie roll (beef sausage) and it’s very flavorful. I also like the crunchier texture of the clonakilty black and white puddings. The potato and (slightly salted) soda farls are also tasty. Didn’t expect latte art in the simple looking cafe, but here it is. I appreciate it despite the probably ordinary beans. It was empty when I went in. Did the hostel people already left or are they still sleeping :3 Then more people from the neighborhood came. The elderly are always a good sign. The staff is really welcoming. No fancy decorations here, but the anti-instagrammability attitude is cool isn’t it ;) Focus on the food. The atmosphere is chill and relaxing— you can hear the laughter, singing, and cheerful good mood in kitchen.

Nice comfy place for an early breakfast before going to the day tour. Just everything you’re looking for in a breakfast place - lots of vegan and gluten free options, from sweet to savoury. Prices are reasonable, very filling, very friendly staff. 100% recommend!

Popped in for breakfast on a Saturday morning after spotting the vegan and vegetarian menu online. Really glad we did! Food was really fantastic and great value for the portion sizes, top quality vegan bacon and sausages with everything cooked perfectly. Coffee was great too. Friendly staff, zero complaints about the food or service. The toilets could use a bit of a clean as they were in poor shape on our visit and didn't look like they'd been done properly for a while so that's one negative of an otherwise very positive visit. We'll be back!

Just brilliant. Make any breakfast you like - but i recommend the samson (goliath is a little too much! but go for it if you're hungry!!) For a giggle, goto the website, look at the menu then read the description of Alan's grannys big ding-dong. (i had it once for a laugh, but its essentially a sausage bap - well, two! *wink* )

Great food, at affordable prices

The best breakfast I have ever eaten! It was so difficult to choose from the wonderful vegan menu on offer.

Brilliant place to eat, breakfast was great and the choice is fantastic, vegan and vegetarian options too. The atmosphere was brilliant as staff was very friendly and chatty and polite, they made us Scots feel welcomed. Food was great and very affordable, plan to head back for each of the days we are visiting.

We really wanted to love this place, walking in the environment is great and what we were hoping for. The food was disappointing, we had 3 different breakfast entrees, all different styles and really none of them were better than average.

Great breakfast - every item on the plate is good on its own. Special mention for the black pudding & farl ! Menu caters perfectly for allergies and the Staff are super attentive. (Provided marg on the plate instead of butter without having to ask for dairy free!) Well priced as well! Don't let the spartan look from the outside put you off! You'd be losing out.... Coming back tomorrow 😬😍

Actually an extremely tasty breakfast! Exceptional!

A great veggie selection which is great but it took 1hr 20 minutes to get our food. Everyone who entered after us were basically turned away, eventually we were one of 3 tables and food still arrived at different times. The fruit tasted like it was uncovered in a fridge so it had an oniony taste but my partner enjoyed his food. Really disappointed as we heard great things previously

I heard great things about this cafe and it did not disappoint! We both got a vegetarian fry, portions were decent, and food was delicious. They have a huge menu that caters to veggies and non veggies, a great atmosphere in a bright and airy space and lovely staff. We'll definitely be back!

We enjoyed the vegetarian breakfast and the Boston pancake stack. The food was really good. Due to a lack of staff we were informed that there might be a waiting time but it was super quick anyhow.

Very nice cafe conveniently close to many accommodation options and only about 10 minutes on foot from the station. Prices were reasonable and the food was very good. I ordered Veggie fry, and for the price, the food was tasty and well done. Cappuccino was not the best, but not a problem. The place feels very nice and staff was amazing.

This is such a delightful, all-inclusive, charming, comfortable, and happy place! The atmosphere is wonderful! The food is excellent! Well made and delicious. The menu has something for everyone--no exaggeration! The staff were so amazing and delightful and friendly as well. I cannot wait to return to Belfast to eat here and visit the staff!

Took one hour to make 4 slices of French toast when the place isn't even crowded. That's all I'll say.

I was absolutely astonished at the amazing quality of the food here considering the fantastically affordable prices. The staff are incredibly friendly, and the service time is very quick. The seating is comfortable, and the cafe has excellent hygiene. I was really impressed by the range of options which catered to different dietary requirements. To sum up: tasty affordable food Friendly and prompt staff Clean and vibrant facilities. I will absolutely come back here the next time I'm in Belfast.

Tres beau petit café à deux pas de l’auberge Belfast Intetnational Youth Hostel. L’ambiance très agréable et repas servi rapidement . J’ai commendé l’assiette de toast et Avocat et mon conjoint l’assiette Canadienne qui devait venir avec du sirop d’érable . Pour ma part j’ai adoré mon repas mais mon conjoint devait avoir du sirop d’érable mais ce n’était pas du tout ça.. 😢 Un bon sirop d’érable est liquide et non épais et visqueux …ne vous faites pas avoir. Pour le reste nous avons tout de même beaucoup apprécié notre déjeuner.

Lovely foods with good portions and reasonable prices

Excellent place for food, we stayed at the hostel next door very handy. The menu was diverse giving lots of choice inc American pancakes etc. Food quality excellent and staff very friendly. Definitely recommend 👍😃

I stayed at the YHA next door with my two children and this little cafe was amazing, what a generous menu there was on offer with really accommodating and lovely staff. We ate here each morning of our short stay and will be sad not to be coming tomorrow!! Thankyou for the amazing food and the biscoff milkshakes which my kids adored!

The Causeway Cafe was the perfect breakfast spot for a traditional breakfast. It was a lot of food but was tasty and filling. And, staff was friendly and helpful!

Great for allergies. I couldn't have been happier with the level of service, menu, food and atmosphere of this cafe. I'm coeliac and lactose intolerant and I was able to get breakfast AND a milkshake with whipped cream. The servers were so friendly and they didn't stop working at all. Would highly recommend this cafe for people with or without allergies. Can't wait to go back!

Most amazing selection of vegan food I’ve ever seen anywhere! Even more choice than fully vegan places I’ve been too. We had breakfast and everything was divine.

Food was incredible. The selection of vegan options for breakfast, lunch, dessert and drinks is outstanding and in my opinion can’t be topped as a vegan who has travelled the uk sampling all the best around. Staff super friendly and helpful. My only comment would be that the place could do with a little updating and to make it a little cosier and less canteen like, but the food I absolutely cannot fault and will gladly go back

Right nextdoor to the Belfast international youth hostel, this place is fantastic, great value for money, super friendly staff, amazing food and they cater for vegan, gluten-free, dairy free. So many options, would highly recommend this place for a big breakfast

Quirky cafe situated on site attached to a hostel. A friendly team working there serving an excellent selection of breakfast choices as well as modern millennial options like avocado on toast. WiFi available and also plenty of space to bring a laptop to work there for the day. Unfortunately they close in the afternoon so you won't be able to work a full 9-5 there unless I've missed something. There's a private meeting room available to rent as well as a semi-private area in the restaurant which is incredibly cosy. The only thing is, it's a proper fry-up cafe so be prepared for the scent... I love it, but know it's not for everyone.

This place is a real treat for vegans. No matter where you are staying in Belfast you should make your way here for all day breakfast. I've never seen such an extensive menu - everything from vegan pancake stacks with all the toppings, extensive fried breakfasts, porridge, vegan milkshakes....and much, much more. We couldn't choose and as we only had one morning in Belfast this time decided to treat ourselves to a massive breakfast so I can safely say that the pancake (proper thick fluffy ones, not crepes) breakfast is amazing, same for the avocado toast breakfasts and we also had a fair go at a fry (crispy hash browns, perfect onion rings, nicely done mushrooms - it was all great). Don't bother looking for breakfast anywhere else (they also do lunch). Staff - among the nicest we've come across. My photos don't do it justice...

THIS is the place to get an Ulster Fry. Made the effort to come as you can choose your own bespoke Ulster fry - everything was fresh and v tasty. Alan was super friendly. For a Belfast breakfast, this is the place!

Excellent Ulster Fry breakfasts! We came and ate three days running and were welcomed by Alun, David and Claire on each occasion. Food was great, service and friendliness of the staff were lovely. Would thoroughly recommend a visit. Mushrooms were particularly tasty - thank you! 😁
