Had burritos and naked burritos to take away. Generous portions, really delicious, home cooked food. Recommended.

Found this little gem walking down the street, we ordered a takeaway burrito and tacos and they were delicious. Lovely ladies that served us, would definitely recommend this place.

Excellent food. Made while I waited for take away. Huge portion so plenty to share. I chose the Burrito and cheesy chips. Going to book a table to sit in next time, can’t believe we haven’t been here all these years! Thank you for the cheesy taco sample :)

Al Taco is a hidden gem of an eatery, we tried the chicken quesadilla, burrito and nachos, they were loaded and all the ingredients were fresh. The staff are friendly, warm and welcoming and nothing is too much. It is well worth a visit when you are in Whitby.

Really nice burittoo, good meat, great fillings. Wish I live here then I could get one each week .

Beautiful place and fantastic food, service

Very small and cozy with very friendly staff. Probably 4 tables if you want to sit and eat. You can book a table in advance if you want but we just turned up and found a table that was free. The food was amazing. We had Nachos to start and then pulled beef Burritos. The portions are large and we were both very full after. They make their own hot sauce and it's smokey and delicious without being too hot to handle. Definitely adds to the already great flavours!

Food is amazing. All levelled up by the lady who runs this place, just brilliant.

We ate here last Sunday whilst staying in Whitby for the weekend. I reserved a table through their Facebook page to avoid the disapointment of not being able to get a table. The menu is varied and has lots to choose from. We ordered chicken fajitas and a quesadilla. Our food was gorgeous and the portions were huge. We could have shared my quesadilla it was so big. The ladies that work there are lovely and make you feel so welcome. They offered to box up our leftovers for us and gave us some Churros and chocolate sauce. We will definitely be eating here again next time we are in Whitby.

We had an excellent visit to Al Taco. We visited as a group of 5 including a vegetarian and a vegan. There were plenty of vegetarian and vegan options, and meat options too. The food was delicious, the staff were friendly and welcoming, and it was incredibly good value. Plus the portions were huge. Just to be aware, it is your own booze (£1.50 corkage pp).

Great Mexican food at Al Taco. Well worth a visit if in Whitby and wanting something other than fish and chips. Really friendly staff and the burrito and tacos were delicious! Dog friendly and they let you take in your own alcohol for a small corkage fee.

It's a beautiful little Mexican restaurant, food was freshly cooked, very authentic. Highly recommended. Will certainly come back again. Lovely staff.

DON'T go here if you want gourmet fine dining. DO DO DO go here if you want fab food, hefty portions and warm and friendly service. Its a small place with a cosy street food feel. Plenty of menu choices and the food was fabulous. Its Bring Your Own Booze with a reasonable £1.50 corkage charge. Very highly recommended

Lovely service, food was great...I was so full! More of a street food vibe than a restaurant with them running a takeaway whilst serving customers inside but with massive portions! You can take your own booze as well 👍

Food was great, a bit of a long wait, and we did get cut in front of and were briefly forgotten about waiting outside, but portions were huge and really tasty! Staff were so friendly despite being busy. I would have liked the food a bit hotter, but think they'd been done quickly as we'd been waiting a while. The burrito fillings were delicious though, absolutely loved the vegetarian burrito (with vegan cheese available!) and would definitely go back!

The burritos we had were really good. A massive size so perfect to eat and fill us up. We were left waiting to order for quite a while, which wasn't ideal. The food didn't take too long once ordered but we were left waiting to order for ages, which I usually wouldn't complain about but there wasn't really anyone else there. 2 women cut in front of us by going inside to order and I do think the staff did just forget about us a bit (which wasn't acknowledged). However, the food was still really good could have been a bit hotter but I think they made it quite quick as we'd been left waiting a while. Will go back in the future.

OMG One of the tastiest meals I have eaten in ages. I had the meat chilli with rice with melted cheese on top. My wife had the soft tacos. Both were generous servings and very tasty.Staff were welcoming. Would recommend this eatery. We ate in but they also do takeaway. They were non stop all night with both tourists and locals, which is a good sign.

Amazing food. Amazing service. We were in Whitby for a long weekend and walked past during the day. We came back into the town center just to go here. We couldn't even finish everything because the portions were huge. Great value for money.

I stumbled across this cute little restaurant, called in and came out stuffed as a stuffed thing. The food was very good, I had delicious nachos and potato skins (I really didn’t need to order both but couldn’t make my mind up as to what I’d rather have), it was all very tasty and as I’ve already said the portions were huge. The hot sauce was tasty but a tad too hot for me, luckily it was in a dish on the side. The two ladies serving were lovely and very friendly. There were a couple of little downsides - the card machine wasn’t working and I wasn’t told when i ordered just overhead as someone else was paying. very luckily I’d been given a £20 note earlier in the day and stuffed it in the back of my phone- I usually use my phone for contactless and don’t use cash or cards so ordinarily wouldn’t have been able to pay. - the place doesn’t sell alcohol, not a major issue but the particular night I visited I really could have done with a glass of wine with my food. Those are just tiny little issues tho, I would call again.

Stumbled upon this place by accident and luckily they had a free table for us. Food was all freshly cooked and tasty, great prices and friendly, helpful staff . Give it a try

Arguably the best burrito I’ve ever had and the staff were brilliant.

Absolutely superb highly recommended definitely use when up here the girls in there are amazing. Heard of this place on YouTube by a guy called simply whitby. Please please try it won't be disappointing thank you girls for a great time and making the wife's birthday.

We’ll what a lovely little surprise we have never been before and found this spot on Tripadvisor. The food is freshly cooked and the staff are friendly and welcoming. I had a quesadilla it was blooming massive and bloody gorgeous. My wife had the chicken burrito and she enjoyed every mouthful. We also had some of their own homemade hot sauce it had just the right amount of bite. The menu is small but perfectly fit rend and whilst it doesn’t sell alcohol you can bring your own with a corkage charge of £1.50 per person. Will definitely come back and recommend it if you fancy a change from oriental food or fish and chips

Excellent discovery. If you like Mexican food or want to try it for the first time this is the place to be. We had nachos burritos and fajitas, all delicious. It's got to be said even better than Mexico.

Had a take away tonight, Nachos with pulled pork. Cheese not melted, no guacamole, no sour cream. Also had it two nights earlier and very nice, but not tonight. Disappointed tonight.

This is an absolutely fabulous place for authentic and superbly cooked Mexican food. We had people with vegan, vegetarian and gluten free dietary requirements in our party and everyone was fully catered for. We discovered this place 2 years ago and couldn’t wait to come back! We live near York and would contemplate driving over just for the food . The owner and staff are just lovely too. This is a must if you are in or near Whitby

It was a great meal and my kids said it was the best meal they have had all holiday. Staff were very welcoming and generally lovely. Would go again if we had a longer holiday.

We really love this place. It's hard to get a table but the fajitas and burritos are huge. The staff are superb with kids and really go the extra mile to accommodate any preferences.

This is a lovely cute little place and Alison could not do enough for me and my partner. I am a big tex mex fan and they even altered their menu to tapas because we're not massive eaters. We asked if she could do it and her reply was "I can do anything ". Genuinely, she wasn't wrong. Please don't listen to bogus reviews and gove this diamond of a woman your support.

Just had a lovely family meal, we were even able to message and discuss food allergies beforehand. My son and I had very tasty vegan taco trio and my Mother had chicken, pork and beef with vegan cheese.

Whitby has more fish and chip restaurants than it does middle aged white people, so finding this absolute gem in the middle of town was literally the best thing that could have happened to us. No disrespect to the chip shops but they literally have nothing on this place. I recommend the nachos and chilli and bring your own booze. Heavenly.

Me and my wife love Al Taco. If only it was bigger, it feels like it could be one of the biggest and best restaurant in Whitby. All the food is absolutely amazing and the service is second to none.

Unbelievable food the tacos were unbelievable, my daughter had the pizza and ate it all! The homemade sauces were a nice extra too 10/10 would recommend already looking forward to going back as I’m not local
