Aksular Restaurant & Meze Bar in Barking and Dagenham

This review is more for the takeaway/delivery area, but if the takeaway food is anything to go by, the restaurant must be amazing. Best kebab in romford, at least.

Ok for a cheap meal with pals. Don’t notice if it’s licensed for alcohol. Food is ok , usual kebabs and lamb shank etc. nothing out of the ordinary. More of a takeaway kebab shop than a nice restaurant really. Went on a date but regretted it. As romantic as a public toilet! Clean , but Spartan. Waiters weren’t really waiters. More kebab shop servers ! No coffee. Can’t hate it but i wouldn’t recommend it for a date. Food was ok. You can’t do much wrong with a kebab and a can of coke , can you?!

Food was good. Price was reasonable. However i had become a regular here due to convenience but the treatment is poor. And the portions are small. The plate looks bare when it arrives. Children were told off by staff. Not a smile seen on staff. Wasn't a pleasant experience. I hope to find somewhere else as i dread to see the miserable faces serving me my food.

2nd time ordering from this restaurant, it was a lovely experience the first time which prompted me to order again. Unfortunately the 2nd time was a disappointing experience. Their confirmation email notifed me that the food would be delivered 19:41 its now 21:38pm! I called the restaurant more than once to track my order and they called their driver and he said he will be here in 5minutes that was mentioned 30minutes ago. Lack of communication and poor timekeeping. Food is still yet to arrive....

I have used this restaurant on a regular basis but not anymore. I waited forever for a delivery when I phoned I was told he was outside. He had gone to the wrong address, he insisted on payment before giving me the food, as I turned to pick up my purse from beside me he stormed off with my food. Having used this restaurant on a regular basis for several years I was astounded to be treated in this way therefore I have removed all my previous reviews and will never use again neither will any of my friends or family. As a PTSD sufferer living alone I did not expect to be shouted at or feel threatened. The food is OK but there are many other better ones in the area.

Tried their mixed grill, decent food, they also have a lunch offer. Parking is a big problem. Decent service, & clean tables.

Good Turkish restaurant. Small place. Clean. The usual fare. The bread they give is very big and generous. Larger than your average. All freshly made as can be expected. Friendly staff. Slightly more expensive than other Turkish restaurants.

We just love the Lamb & Chicken Shish Kebabs from this restaurant. The meat is always so tender and tasty. We eat in too quite often and the staff are always friendly and helpful. The restaurant is a lot smaller than it used to be but that hasn’t made any difference to the quality of the food.

Have been ordering about once or twice a week for a couple of years now, and just had the most disappointing experience here. We placed an order for delivery, but when it came, the rice was soggy like a porridge. It had been soggy the time before too, but had just thought that they had an off day, but being the second time in a row, and much worse than last time, I called to let them know, only to be told “I know, I saw it before it went out of the door”! I asked why it had been allowed out of the door like that, and was told that “it’s only water, it doesn’t matter, there was an accident with the amount of water added”! I told them that it did matter, and that the rice had arrived mushy and inedible twice in a row now, but was met with “well what do you want me to do? I will look after you next time” to which I replied “There won’t be a next time”! Never ever again, and they have lost a loyal customer!

Food was great as always. Chicken was tender, lamb ribs were meaty and succulent, never had a bad order

Ordered a starter and main came to £12.50. The food arrived before the hour that was stated. It was tasty and hot, bread rice and salad was included. I thought this was well worth the money. Will order from here again.

Ordered a takeaway for four people. One meal was missing. The rest of it was cold including the chicken and lamb shush and it did not seem to be fresh Did not bother to phone and complain. They was nothing that could have been done. Will never go back.

Service is always great when we eat here. The portion sizes are more than enough. If you haven't eaten your meal they offer doggy bags. The meat is always cooked well and never too fatty.

My partner and our son have just got home after a absolutely lovely meal here. The food was absolutely amazing to start we were given free garlic and chilli dip with bread and tzatziki. We ordered the special platter to share between 3-4 people, well let me tell you when it came out i told my partner and waitress there was no way we were eating all of that it was MASSIVE hower as soon as we tucked into it the meat was so tender and tasty that before we knew it the 3 of us, 2 adults and a 10 year old child had consumed something 4 adults should only eat and this was only because the food was way too good to leave. The waitress was very helpful and couldn't do more to assist our every need, we even got a free baklava for afters and the lovely waitress gave my son a lolly. Perfect service and perfect food we will definitely be back.

There are so many of this type of restaurant nowadays that the cuisine has, for me, lost some of its appeal. I still love the combination of chargrilled meats, rice, salad and bread. It is a taste I love however with so many restaurants popping up it is difficult to differentiate between any of them. I do have my favourites however o decided to pop into this recently opened restaurant for a takeaway and sample the food. The restaurant seats about 50 maybe and the decor is fairly forgettable and nothing outlandish. The food is essentially the same and so i ordered a chicken shish. It was fine, rice and salad fine. I found nothing offensive about this place but nothing particularly special either.

I have visited this restaurant twice the food was good. However when u order a takeaway the food quality suffers. I ordered spicy lamb hotpot below is a photo. I telephoned the restaurant to complain. I was not happy with their response drive it back tonight we will refund however three whole point of having a takeaway was that I was too tired to cook. Therefore could not do 2 journeys. I will never eat there again. My friends and family will now not. So take way is Rubbish unless u get a normal kebab. This cost £10.00??

I went here on an off chance, I live a short walk away and had walked past earlier that day and it had seemed nice. So, i decided to walk back later to try it out. Well it wasn't just nice, it was Amazing! This place is a little gem and I'm glad I decided to eat here. It's small, intimate and clean (5* hygiene certificate on the door) the staff are very friendly and can't do enough to help, they are not annoying and keep on (always a bonus as there is nothing more annoying than waiters and waitresses that keep on and get in the way). The service was quick and the food was absolutely delicious (it was so nice that I wouldn't have minded if it had taken an hour and trust me I get hangry so that's a long time to wait lol) We had lahmacun (Turkish pizza) to start, it's served with salad. For our mains we had Chicken Shish and Lamb Kofte all served with rice and salad. You are also given complementary bread with chilli and garlic sauce, also delicious. All of the food was fresh and had lots of flavour. The meat was tender and cooked to perfection. I also liked the fact you can see the kitchen. The food presentation of the food was also great. The starter came on a wooden slack and this worked really well. I will be visiting here again, frequently and I will be recommending this restaurant. Thank you for a lovely meal.

Went for lunch with family Nice little restaurant and portions generous Hot freshly made food Turkish cuisine Staff were nice Seated quickly Wasn't very busy so had a relaxing lunch. We have also ordered home delivery which has been good. Will definitely return

Visited the restaurant in Chadwell Heath High Road Sunday. Was clean friendly nice menu and the food was very nice. Nice and relaxed with really good service. Serves drinks like beer and wine so a really good place to go for a local meal out

You can't go too far wrong with most Turkish places, for simple, honest & tasty food - and this place is in the same vein...a very good local place with excellent service & food. I'll be back,l.l

Ordered the platter and didn't disappoint!! I ordered for delivery and it was nice and quick. The food was fresh and hot. You can taste the passion that goes in. Good work keep it up!

delivery arrived promptly but 1 kebab was missing phoned up and was told id have to wait 45 mins for it to be delivered dont think this was good enough as the rest of the delivery would be ruined by then when it did arrive about 30 mins later it was not what id ordered i was very disappointed and wont be ordering from here again

Wife's friends recommended Aksular and after wondering what to have for dinner I order take out. Friendly helpful staff on the phone and the food arrived quickly and still hot. Will definitely order from them again.

This has become my takeaway choice recently. The food is really nice, cooked to perfection even. I am always welcomed into the shop and offered some tea while I wait for my order.

What an experince it was to be here food was awsome, exactly what i was looking for, the same taste as i had in turkey. The waiter and chefs were a 5 star, would stricly recommend this place and will be back soon 👍

Recently moved in the area and was looking for somewhere nice to eat this is a great restaurant perfect atmosphere and excellent food that is always presented beautifully, very friendly staff this has definitely become my regular place to eat out

Lunch visit today to a great addition to Chadwell Heath. Delicious complimentary bread and dip brought out straightaway. Good sized tasty main dishes, with large salad. Western style choices available too. Lovely taster of baklava, and good tiramisu to finish. Staff very helpful and attentive. Give them a try for authentic Turkish food!

Excellent choice on the menu, the food is smashing and tasty, staff are very friendly and do a mean Pina Colada!

Lovely food, some strange combos on the menu for example Lamb & Hummus for a starter but the taste was sublime. Our waiter was very attentive. A nice restaurant for all comers. Delicate background music. Will definitely be going again with more family and friends.

Nice restaurant lovely ambience. Needed this in the area. A little pricey but on for a change or a special night out. Staff very attentive and friendly.

I visited the restaurant for a number of occasions before reviewing just to make sure is not just a one of thing that new places offer. I am pleased to say that the standard of service is very good and the food was wonderful every time I have been there. Definitely recommend this place is lovely, clean and food actually taste very nice.

What with the growing amount of Turkish meze houses opening around the catchment we had to try this one. Really noce. The Lamb is cooked to a great tenderness just how I like it and the salads are fresh and what I expect from such a place. Been back here twice since we first went on opening week.

Had a great meal here this evening, food was really good, portions were more than generous and staff were really friendly. Would definitely recommend.

I been with my family and friends very good service and delicious food.it is a proper Turkish Restaurant at this area and will be very popular in a short time.

Came here with a friend for dinner. We shared a couple of starters and were given a free dish of bread and dip. Our mains were a generous size and we were also given a very appealing looking salad to share. The service was extremely helpful and friendly. The food and drink were priced very reasonably, although the Prosecco could be cheaper to make it the ultimate place to eat locally! The food and alcohol are cheaper at another Turkish not much further down the road that we've often been to, however Aksular does compensate by the decor, ambience and customer service.

A wonderfull atmosphere, very friendly and helpfull staff, best of all was the food. This place is the best quality so far that i have been to. Stricly recommend this place, must go and see and taste there delicous food 👍👍👍
