Excellent takeaway, fantastic service from staff and delivery team. Food delivered far quicker than expected for a Saturday evening, within 45 minutes

Ordered takeaway to be delivered. Food hot and flavoursome, chicken tender. Sauces looked homemade. Delivered within the hour as promised. Really enjoyed it, will definitely order again.

We have lived in Daventry 6 years and this is our go to Indian takeaway, never fails to disappoint..till now. Was advised it would take an hour and a half which was fine. Food arrived 15 mins early and not in the usual brown paper bag but a plastic bag, not really an issue but the Food was cold and lacked taste. Not great real shame

Regular takeaways as well as the odd sit in meal which have always been Fantastic.. the shusmi nan with naga chicken is my go to meal... Thanks Abdul’s for the amazing food & Service

We tried this first time but sadly was a little disappointed, the food arrived hot and in a reasonable time. But The chicken tikka masala was a bright red highly coconut flavoured soup with chicken chunks. The garlic bread was totally covered in garlic so a bit over done.. the chicken jalfresisi was fine so to mushroom rice. The delivery outside of Daventry was a bit steep..

We came last night for the first time and were pleasantly surprised by how great the food is. My partner who is a bit reluctant to try new food absolutely loved his curry! We will definitely be back 😌

Found this by chance a few months ago and so glad I did! Being a huge lover of Indian / Bangladesh food I’ve experienced a few in my time but this would be my first choice now!

Another place we haven't visited for a long time for one reason or another but was really happy we did. Arrived as a group of 8, friends and kids and shown to the table. Really pleasant staff and food was great. Few beers, fun laughter and we sat and enjoyed ourselves for couple best part of a couple of hours. Ordered the chilli masala which was lovely, and probably the best Sag allo I have had for ages. Big chunky tasty potatoes and spinach. Glad to have gone back as food was lovely and tasty. Will defo go back again.

Me and my friend visited the restaurant and had a lovely meal. Chicken tikka masala was lovely, onion bahjis and cheesy naans are the best around here. Good sized portions and very friendly, helpful staff. Never had an issue here.

Visited Abdul’s this evening with my wife. We had an absolutely fantastic meal and the staff were extremely helpful. I had the Chicken Purée to start with followed by the Lamb Korai. Absolutely brilliant with large pieces of lamb. Would recommend to anyone and we will definitely be going back.

I had the tarka daal and Bombay aloo with vegetable rice and it was delicious. My non- vegan family had lamb rogan josh and chicken tikka masala which they enjoyed too.

Our large group of friends had a disappointing experience at an Indian restaurant in the area a few months ago. As we hadn't been to this establishment for a few years, we thought we would give it a try. We booked in advance and arrived late on a Saturday evening. The service throughout was friendly and attentive. The food was served quickly and there were no complaints about the quality. My chicken darjeeling was delicious. At £20 a head, we had a very decent meal.

We ordered food through the Just Eat app. When we received our food the order was completely wrong so we called Abdul's up and asked if we could be sent the right order, and to this request they hung up the phone. We therefore called them back up and told them that we thought it was very unprofessional of them and that we would rather just send the food back (which we had not touched) and get a refund. They told us that we would have to call up Just Eat and get the refund through there. We called up Just Eat and they told us that Abdul's was refusing to give us a discount. We then phoned up Abdul's and they started to get very agitated with us and told us that we were "c*nts" and that he would come and "f*ck us up." Seeing as they delivered to our house and they know our address, its fair to say we felt very threatened.

Abdul’s is in my opinion the overall curry champ in Daventry and wider area...

Very good curry lots of choice, excellent value for money and very friendly staff, situated upstairs would not suit disabled people but they had highchairs so suitable for families friends couples, excellent choice of drinks too

I've used Abdul's a fair few times now. Granted I haven't tried any of the others in Daventry. But for me Abdul's is all anyone could want from an indian. Very good cuisine. Food always arrives hot with the friendly delivery driver exactly when they say. (40mins usually).

This is our go to Indian restaurant. Been to many others but none compare to Abdul's. Whether you stick with old favourites or try something new, you won't be disappointed.

Best Indian Restaurant we have ever been to. Food is delicious and great portions with it. We now attend once every month as a little treat for us. Staff are nice and friendly too. Not seen it busy yet but that's probably because we go straight from work but highly recommend! This review is from a picky eater too!

Had a take out for the 2nd time in a month. Both as good as each other. Chicken naga lots of flavour Shushmi naan packed with mince meat Keema rice with lots of chunks of keema Well priced and excellent quality.

We used to visit Abdul's regularly but haven't been for a while. Decided to revisit for my birthday meal today. We didn't think we would need to book a table but glad we did. It was very popular and busy all evening. Lovely atmosphere and very friendly and attentive staff. Can recommend the prawn saag. Restaurant is licensed once more and highly recommend for a quality meal with great atmosphere. Excellent value. Thank you we will definitely be back.

Mi esposa y yo fuimos para un indio. Realmente buena comida y el servicio eran fabulosos. Pedimos un entrante y cebollas Sheekh Barjees kebabs. Platos principales pedimos un cordero biryani y manteca de ajo pollo y también naans. Incluye 2 bebidas suaves, que llegó a 35 libras. Ganga. El servicio era tan bueno los chicos me pidió un taxi. Gracias a Ali el conductor. Sin duda recomiendo este lugar para comer.

Abdul tiene su licencia de bebidas de atrás. Siempre ha sido el mejor de la ciudad por la comida. Personal amable, ambiente encantador.

La comida aún agradable pero no tanto como nosotros. Y la última vez que nos sentamos en que era los únicos y u no puede tener un cerveza con su curry.

We ordered lots of food for seven of us.Told an hour and it was a bit longer but well worth the wait.It was glorious when it arrived.Sag point is a super side dish..

After spending £30 for two meals most of it ended up in the bin!! Greasy slop! Only 4 small chunks of chicken in the tikka masala and the jalfrezi was awful. Not even a complementary popadom! It even took an hour and a half to be delivered ! Very very disappointed as only ever hear great things about this place . Shame.

Love this restaurant in Daventry. Great Indian food and great service. Pity no alcohol, but the food more than compensates.

A newbie in this town only been here for less than 1 month and still familiarising myself with the locals. One place I remember well is Abduls. This place offers excellent dining, fablously cooked Lamb Tikka Rogan, (compliments to the chef). Service very fine too. No hassle and pestering around. We ate our dinner with full relax mode. Just what we like nice service not overboard pestering service as we have received in other places we have been too. Yeah all in all very good.

Second time now had a take out from here.I have to say this time I could not fault it in anyway. Good portions all good flavours and naan how it should be. Will be returning soon.

I have been going to their restaurant for over 18 years since they first openedThey cater for all types of food and will also make a special dishes for individual suit.I have always enjoyed eating in the restaurant and their takeaways.

Went in at 6.30 on a Thursday. Empty! Taking orders was slow. Drinks took a while to come. Food was lovely! I had a sweet lassi to drink- a bit too thick for my preference. Tasted good though. Ordered poppadoms, starters and mains. Ended up taking most of the main course home for next day! Really enjoyed the food here.

Lived in Daventry for years, but this is the first time we've ordered a takeaway from them. Called on a Saturday evening and was told the food would be delivered in 50-60 minutes. 40 minutes later it was delivered by a very polite well dressed employee (unlike some other take always we've used). Food was not the cheapest, but was very tasty and portion sizes were definitely generous - we didn't eat much at all the next day. We will definitely be using Abdul's in future for an Indian takeaway.

This was by far the best Indian meal I have had, delicious and the waitor was knowledgable about how the meals were cooked, will definitely be going back.

This is a hidden gem, the place is upstairs on top of a Chinese restaurant, but it's awesome. Beautiful lovely warm cosy place. The food is full of flavours. We all loved it. Great place, would recommend to everyone. Nice and relax atmosphere. Very spacious and clean. Good lighting.

I have been going to Abdul's for over 20 years. The food is always utterly fantastic. Abdul & Sal are so lovely & welcoming as are the rest of the staff. It is unfortunate if you want an alcoholic drink with your meal but I wouldn't let that put you off. If you have to wait a while for your takeaway it proves how popular they are. I would most certainly recommend this restaurant.

After reading several reports from Abdul's I was quite disappointed with the take-away. The quality was OK, but nothing to shout about, but the portion sizes were very SMALL. Having spent over £35 including 4 main dishes, rices a side dish and naan, seemed a little expensive. The regular classics i.e. Bhuna and Ceylon were served in the small metal containers (Like the Pilau rice) and only just over half full. Overall meat quality is good and the "Cuisine Special" was nice, but it was difficult to distinguish from a bhuna and balti for example. It's certainly NOT value for money as a Take-Away.

I understand the religious beliefs behind the decision but think it has killed the atmosphere . never as busy as it once was

We didn't even get to the stage of eating and I'm glad we didn't. If the food was anything like the service, then I would have been even more disappointed! A group of staying at a hotel nearby on business, googled halal resteraunts in Daventry. Abdul was the first on, it was only 1.5 miles away so not too far. Ideal location on a quite high street and on top of a Chinese resteraunt. Spoke to a waiter and asked him about halal, his response was, "the box we get in for delivery states it does, but I'm not sure." He stated this repeatedly, but never moved to go and enquire with the chef. We asked why do you not serve alcohol and his response, "because of religious reason." I'm not Muslim, it was my friend but even I got angry at this point! A Muslim name for a resteraunt and no alcohol, because of religious reasons but no halal meat! Manager intervened and said,"we don't serve alcohol due to personal reasons, we don't have to justify to you guys but it can, because we don't have a license. That guy is wrong." (referring to his colleague). We weren't impressed, fuming and walked out. Very conflicting information, staff didn't even know! Inside was dim and looked like family living room. Wouldn't recoommend!

Ordered food at 6:45...the guy turned up with it at 8:30.. I DONT THINK SO. Sent him back with it.wont use them again. Bloody cheek..wont use just eat either..load of crap

We ordered chicken tikka corma. It looked like spag Bol and was made up of mostly grease. The container it came in was hot but the food was only just warm. Best part was the popadom. Would never order from here again

Was staying at a hotel in the area. Despite all the reviews on just-eat, took a chance and ordered. Told the person takjng yhe order that I will be putting a review on the net so order has to be correct and delivered on time. Order arrived on time and as per instruction but with a couple of items missing. Overall, good portion size and taste. Family naan could be bigger - wonder what a normal naan size is.

Thought I would try this Indian as I have had 2 from another in Daventry . Wish i hadn't.Chicken naga was dry and tough and not much flavour going in. Rice and naan bread ok. Dearer than the other Indian and can't see why. Never will eat in or get a take out from here again. Please go to the other Indian or read my other review. Much better

A very good meal in a pleasantly decorated restaurant but the "no alcohol allowed on the premises rule" is unfortunate.

the staff were really nice very helpful with our choice of food my meal was well presented on my plate the taste was absolutely amazing enjoyed every mouthful I had the Bengal jalfrezi with pilau rice and garlic nan ate every bit was the best indian meal I've had in ages there's know alcohol allowed at all on the premises which was nice so we didn't have to endure any loud drunks which was great highly recommend this place it's open 7 days a week

Just had a meal with the family, food and service were excellent. I Had vegetable jalfraze with tarka dall, sag aloo, chilli rice and nan bread, I couldn't fault any of it and I've eaten in many Indian restaurants. The food had lots of flavour and the price was just right. This restaurant doesn't allow alcohol which we found refreshing so you just get to enjoy the food in a relaxed atmosphere.

Upon the recommendation of my new employer I decided to try Abduls for a takeaway mid week as a treat and we were not disappointed!! First class service from the initial phone call, to the abundance of flavours down to the friendly delivery guy at the door - Would definitely recommend Abduls to a friend and will now be back to try 'dining in' one evening. Abdul's is a strange restaurant. I respect the owners stance regarding alcohol, but the net effect is that it feels like a really good restaurant waiting to happen.The food is excellent - authentic, offers different to the run of the mill indian, for the discerning palette. As an boring, middle-of-the-road man I want to enjoy that with a pint. I have tried (2 or 3 times) to make do with mango lassie, but it isn't the same. So I have ended up being a take-away customer. I think that is a shame, but how to resolve this? I don't know.I still recommend Abdul's to anyone that asks and will continue to do so.

We always get our takeaways from Abdul's, we've literally never had a bad meal or cause for complaint. It's a first floor venue, up a long flight of stairs, so difficult for pushchairs and impossible for wheelchairs. The decision to stop selling alcohol has no doubt reduced the number of times we eat in, but we still regularly order takeaways for delivery or collection. Collection is a bit quicker and 15% cheaper too. I've tried most things on their menu now and love it all. We've eaten Indian food all over the uk and on holiday including Singapore and New Zealand but Abdul's is by far the best. It's similarly priced to other local Indian restaurants so pricier than Chinese but the portions are generous enough to share or go for leftovers the next day.

This is the best Indian restaurant in Daventry by far. The food is absolutely amazing. However, I feel the decision to stop serving alcohol is nothing less that retail suicide. There's just something right about a curry and a Cobra. Takeaway use only from now on. Shame, as the restaurant is practically empty now.

Went here last Xmas 2012 on a Thursday night in December from 7:30 until 11:30pm with three friends, food was great and the whole place was buzzing not a single space left as it was completely full of diners, many groups celebrating their Xmas party night.Went again in 2013 also on a Thursday night in December with the same friends having been informed when I booked the table that there is no longer a bar and that alcohol was banned due to religious beliefs.That did not bother us as three out of the four of us do not drink, but as I suspected it really did affect the restaurant, when we arrived at 7:30pm there were only two other groups there both were all female.One group of six were celebrating a birthday and the other group of four were celebrating the office Xmas party, with us there were a total of fourteen people in a restaurant that seats at least sixty.No other diners appeared and the group of six left at 9:30pm followed by the group of four at 10:00, we finally left at 10:30.There was no atmosphere at all and once the others had left we were outnumbered by the staff.It is a real shame that the ban on alcohol has been instituted especially as Abdul has always operated a bar both here and at his previous place "Little India" I will be very surprised if Abduls survives as there are a number of other good Indian restaurants in Daventry and the surrounding villages that are just as good with the standard of the food served.

The food is still the best in the area, but they have stopped selling alcohol due to the owners religous beliefs, very admirable, but in my opiniin a bad business idea, still good for a takeaway though.

Abdul has been great Indian food both at New India Cottage his previous establishment and at his new premises Abdul's in Daventry High Street.It's a great shame he has decided to completely ban alcohol due to religious beliefs but his many regular customers are not muslim and I am sure this will affect his business.I for one will still eat there as it's the best Indian food in Daventry but as I am a non drinker it will not affect me.

Genuinely nice people offering a very warm welcome.The starter and main course were very nice and the service attentive.Highly recommended if you are in the areas, ample car parking close by if required.Will return for sure.

Abdul has taken the decision to stop serving alcohol in his restaurant. Personally I think this is economic suicide. Will still use for take aways as they are definitely still the best in the area. Hopefully one day this decision will be reversed.

Always friendly staff, good service and tasty food. Have been coming here and the previous premises for years . Worth trying the Kurzi lamb or Kurzi Chicken - delicious but you must order 24 hours in advance.They also do takeaway with discount if you collect and can deliver including nearby villages.

Great food and wine. Really enjoyed our meal especially the Lamb darjeeling - mild but very tasty. Good professional service. Look forward to returning soon and trying the takeaway service.

Working away so decided on a curry. It was a Tuesday night and restaurant was still very busy, starters and main arrived in good speed excellent quality food. So impressed we decided to visit on the Thursday evening too; choosing different meals and both evenings the food was served in good speed and of excellent quality, good portion sizes and friendly efficient staff. We shall return.. :-)

When I went to Abdul's me and my dad always have a great time. There are always waiters that will say, "would you like another drink?" And It is a lovely atmosphere to be around. The food is never disappointing and is always perfect!

We had some visitors down for the weekend and after a few drinks at home decided to go out and try Abdul's. Having already seen a review for the place on Trip advisor and hearing someones request for a special dish not on the menu I requested a 'Chicken Suicide'. Having not been here before the group ordered their food and it all arrived quickly. Good atmosphere, friendly and efficient service and some different options on the menu. My partner had the cheesy chicken - WOW, only managed to get a little taste of that as i was working my way through a curry of chilly and chicken, that had the kick of a volcano. With the aid of a couple of pints of Cobra and a nan bread the Chicken suicide was devoured. Between us we had a mixture of dishes that all tasted really nice, great night and a personalable service. With this being the first time we have been the best test is to ask if we would go again? YES we would, great for a couple or group we had a really enjoyable time

We had a family meal for 22 at Abduls a few nights ago, First time the whole family, including teenagers had got together. We were all made to feel very welcome as we arrived, there was a great atmosphere in the restaurant and the service throughout the night was excellent. We asked for an mezzie type meal for 22 including a few vegetarians. The food was absolutely fantastic, very tasty, the portions were generous, plenty of choice and really good value for money. had a curry with my mate on Friday night - very good indeed. Staff made suggestions from menu when we couldn't decide - we weren't let down. All staff great, Abdul happy to spend time and talk. 2 large parties in as well as 2s and 4s but service time was not delayed.Will be back!

It's been a while since we visited Abdul and The Team and everything was as hoped for. The restaurant was full, and the atmosphere was vibrant as a good friend was having his 50th Birthday bash behind us. I had the Spiced Minced Meat Omelette after Poppadoms and Chutneys which were light in colour and tasted freshly fried with lovely Lime Pickle and Onion salad. My friend had a very generous portion of Prawn Puree which he enjoyed greatly. I went with a waiter suggestion of Spicy Lamb and Spinach for main and it was moist and tender and suitably spicy with the right amount of green chilli. My friend had the Chicken Taba which looked and tasted Brilliant. We had a Saag Aloo and the potatoes were sweet and the spinach iron rich. We had two Pilau rice which tasted hot and fresh. We finished with a fragrant hot towel and The Dinner including 3 Pints of Cobra n Draught came to £45 which was spot on in terms of value and expectation. Abdul's son has moved on to gain further experience elsewhere but there were lots of familiar faces in the front of house team. Abdul looks younger every time I see him. Keep up the good work!!

We've eaten at Abdul's three times and the food is a delight to the senses and always tastes freshly prepared. The service is friendly and professional, and prices very reasonable. A jewel of a restaurant in the heart of Daventry.

We ate here on easter sunday and were very happy with everything from the staff to the food. The food was of a very good standard,lovely and fresh, full of flavour and thoroughly enjoyed. The staff were very attentive and could not do enough for us, we will definitely eat here again if in the area and would recommend to any serious curry lover. Well worth the visit and very reasonably priced.

Called here for a quick bite as working late.Entrance is a little off-putting but trusted fellow trip advisors reports and proceeded. I was in a rush so happy that service was very efficient.Poppadums were very fresh, so a good start. Went straight to a main course and the food was good with the Nan very fresh. I would certainly go again but don't consider the food amazing but no complaints.

We went in on Saturday and we were really suprised that the restaurant was so busy. We were warmly welcomed by a young guy named aman who had a big smile on his face wearing a shiny white superman belt who sat us down on a table he calls the VIP table. We had a really nice meal and well valued and we will definatly be back

I had a meal at Abdul's on Saturday evening with a group for a friends birthday. I was extremely impressed by the warm welcome we were shown on arrival and the friendliness of the staff throughout the duration of our visit. The food was reasonably priced and was the best Indian food I have eaten in a long time. Will definitely visit again soon.

I have been a regular customer of Abdul's for the last 6 years, having previously frequented his last restaurant in Daventry. The food is ALWAYS excellent. I don't get to eat there as often as I would like but every time I am in the midlands I plan a stop over in Daventy just to have a meal and a pint or two at Abdul's. The warm welcome I get every time from Abdul and his staff is always appreciated.A very good friend of mine and I are serious chilli heads and we asked Abdul to concoct a lamb dish that was extremely hot but at the same time flavoursome. Abdul didn't disappoint! When we got the very reasonable bill, it simply stated "lamb suicide x 2". This is our regular order now and I am looking forward to treating myself on Thursday evening when I'll be back in Daventry. Can't wait - mouth is wattering as I type.

We went with four friends on the recommendation of one of the couples, we were not disappointed! We had the 'Kulchi Lamb', which has to be ordered twenty four hours before, and is cooked for most of a day. A whole leg of lamb curry on a single platter ready for sharing, with pilau rice and very many side dishes and more than enough for the six of us. Absolutely delicious! A good meal for six, 3 pints of beer, two bottles of Red Wine and some soft drinks an extra side and Poppadums for all and the total bill was £99, fantastic value for such quality food and service.

We have eaten in Abdul's and had takeaways and the food is amazing. This is by far the best Indian food i have tasted. Please don't ever change it! i love that it is consistently of high quality, perfect taste every time. Well done!

As a long-term customer of the New Shahi Lounge further down the street, I decided to try Abduls yesterday as a result of TripAdvisor reviews. I took a customer and we had a working dinner in a near-empty restaurant on a Tuesday night. Based on what I had read, I expected more, The decor was ... average. The service was ... average. The food was ... average. I must make it clear that I think the service and food quality of Indian restaurants in the UK is pretty high, so I am not complaining in any way - it was fine. I was just expecting more compared to my regular which gets something of a slating on TripAdvisor.So, in summary, perfectly good, but nothing special in my opinion. It was also expensive for what it was: £50 for a meal for 2 with no starters and two pints of Cobra (draft) each. I will go again in the future and find out if I simply hit a bad night.

Abdul and his team are friendly and helpful , I'm not adventurous when it comes to Indian food or should i say wasn't . I have been gently weaned off chicken biryani and now enjoy a full and varied choice of the most amazing indian cuisine...Love the the place love the people. This has got to be the best place to go for a meal in Daventry or surrounding area..But don't forget to book on a weekend I'm not the only one that enjoys this restaurant its very popular x.

100% positive, highly recommended!Have celebrated my birthday with Abdul & team for the past two years, and will certainly be doing it again this year.The menu is varied and well priced, and the food is exceptional. I have friends who are vegetarian that also adore this restaurant and Abdul is always when helpful if you are unsure what to order, or want to try something new.I have tried all Indian restaurants in the area as I am a bit of a fan of the cuisine, but non compare to Abdul's. If you are looking for great tasting Indian food in a friendly atmosphere, then look no further.
