This is a gorgeous little cafe nestled in a historic building in the heart of Dunfermline. Sitting in the cafe itself almost resembles being in a cave with its arched ceilings and quaint decor. Great coffee and the delicious food - I would highly recommend the bacon sandwich. Very attentive and friendly staff also. Our visit here was one of many highlights during our trip to Dunfermline

Lovely place with a good menu. Got the soup of the day with sourdough bread and it was perfect for lunch. It tasted lovely. The staff was very nice and smiley! The café itself is very peaceful and even has an outside space with beautiful views on the house. Highly recommend for a coffee stop ☕😊

A lovely chilled out atmosphere with amazingly friendly staff and out of this world food. There is a wide range of food, drinks and cakes, I'd say more aimed at adults however the staff are really friendly and love a wee visit from a dog or two. Our dog Alba has this local haunt as a personal favourite.

This place is set in a gorgeous little garden and quite hidden out the way. The food was amazing and the place very busy so bear that in mind for a last minute drop in. The gardens are also dog friendly with the staff being very attentive to both you and your dogs needs. The chocolate brownies and “The Usual Suspect” (bacon roll) are highly recommended.

Stunning place for coffee and cake. Can't wait to go back after moving into area recently. Relaxing vibe. Just needed a turntable where you stick on a Bon Iver album and I'd be in one of my favourite coffee shops ever. The garden area is amazing. You could spend hours drinking coffee and just being. You don't imagine that you are moments from Dunfermline high street. Forgot to buy some coffee beans so I do have an excuse already to return.

What a gem to find for a coffee and a cake. The garden is a sanctuary. Tea and coffee are very satisfying and a chocolate fudge brownie was fresh and rich in flavours. Highly recommended!

The most delicious soup Sandar Dhal, (probably wrong spelling), spicy lentil served with sourdough bread. Wrap was extra tasty too with one of their special fillings-Spicy Onion Bhaji. Service was quick & waitress very pleasant. Abbot House gift shop is a little treasure with nice products to buy and again the lady in shop very pleasant & helpful. Five star visit.

The best place in Dunfermline for a cup of coffee, tea, and something to nibble on. It is a perfect spot for any artist as the place is so inspiring. The staff is very friendly and they always go the extra length in looking after the customer. I tried a slice of the carrot loaf while there, and it was delicious. It became my favourite spot for my writing, so I'll definitely be back.

Thoroughly enjoyed walking around the herbal garden at Abbott House then warmed up with hot drinks and tasty cakes in the coffee shop. My husband enjoyed a flat latte with peanut butter millionaire shortbread and I had mint tea with a gluten free, vegan and soya free chocolate orange tart. Absolutely delicious 😋 Delighted to find out most of the options on the lunch menu can be adapted for coeliacs. Lots of vegan choices too. Soup is usually gluten free and dairy free. We'll definitely return soon.

A very enjoyable bacon bap (£3.50), not huge but quality and came with crisps; good value for the price. Large American (£2.40) also good. Fantastic historic place, with a design/art theme and a few different rooms. Lovely to see it open again and I'm sure it'll be a success. Will be back.

A jewel in the heritage quarter of Dunfermline. The pink hoose is an absolute gem and a must visit. The gift shop has an incredible selection of goodies sourced from local creatives and artisans and Louise or Claire are uber helpful in helping you pick the perfect item. The coffee shop can be accessed right from outside the gift shop, Blend. The best cakes, sandwiches and coffee all served in a beautiful setting with the most unique views of the Abbey. Again all the team are so helpful and friendly. If you are in Dunfermline you must visit here.

Prior to closure, Abbot House used to be an absolute gem in Dunfermline. It was run by a group of volunteers, most of whom were cheery, elderly ladies. There was a cornucopia of cakes, bakes and scones and the most delicious home-made soup. It was a delight. Yesterday, on my first visit since Abbot House reopened, was as you would expect of any café: it was clean, service was quick and efficient and the lass who served us was very nice and courteous. The refurbishments to the toilets were a massive improvement and the interior was refreshed and retained its quirky charm. The gardens were lovely and quite beautiful on a sunny day. However, it could have been any café. The volunteer ladies, who had made Abbot House so special, were gone and with them, their love and care that went into the food. The selection of cakes was down to one cake and the rest were tray bakes. I couldn't see any sign of soup. It was perfectly adequate and the setting is unique but it has lost its magic. We might have well gone to the café next door, where there are better views and a far bigger selection of food. Abbot House was reasonably busy yesterday and I wish it every success. But, for those of us who loved the Abbot House café run by the volunteer ladies, who were the very essence of what made Abbot House special, I thank you for making the place so special and hope you know that you are all very much missed.

Lovely historic site in Dunfermline now turned into a Heritage Centre. I truly enjoyed visiting it and discovering a bit more about the town thanks to David, a volunteer that was incredibly nice to me and my friend. He made our experience at the Abbot House more interesting and told us a lot about the whats, whos and whens in town. If you have some spare time, they have a lovely walled garden with amazing views over Dunfermline Cathedral and Abbey.

I ordered a 10" hot vegetarian pizza and a chicken pakora. Despite paying for an extra topping of jalapenos, there still wasn't many. The pizza was "stodgy" and not very nice. Regarding the pakora, despite being a starter, the portion was huge and quality wise, it was okay. Sorry to say but overall, I was very disappointed and at £17.10 it wasn't cheap for what I got.

Fabulous meal in The Dory Bistro this evening. Food absolutely outstanding as was the ambience in the restaurant and the people who take a pride in the food they serve. The Dory aperitif is definitely recommended. I had the halibut to start and my husband had the clams. I had monkfish for mains and he had the cod. All incredible - in presentation and quality. A lovely glass of wine to accompany my food - the driver had water. Good coffee to finish. Overall, cannot recommend this place enough and excellent value for money for the quality of the food and service.

We happened to stumble across this hidden gem after visiting the aquarium and we enjoyed it so much we went back for more a few days later! What really struck us was the passion that has gone into this business. A little off the beaten track but well worth a visit! I really hope this becomes a chain as it surpasses any mainstream burger chain in the country. Come to England soon!
