A5 Bacon Bar in Conwy

Fabulous place in every way. All the family love it - from grandkids to granddad. And there always seem to plenty of local folk there.

I visited this cafe Monday after Trip Advisor recommendations. I had a 2 year old and a 4 year old with me so wasn’t sure what the reception would be like. I needn’t have worried! The cafe was busy but we found a table and the other diners were really chatty and lovely with my little fellows, one of the men even let the boys have a sit on his tractor as they are just a bit obsessed! The owner was also lovely and chatted with the boys taking their orders and accommodated the extra butter request from one and the sausage on toast with no toast order from the other 😂. We were only in Wales for a couple of nights and called to the cafe again today before heading off. The owners remembered us and even remembered our order. Excellent food, exceptional value and amazing service, I think this will be our regular pit stop in Snowdonia, thanks guys!!

Popped in for a bacon sandwich and coffee...food was great, as were the guys who run the place. I would recommend and will visit again in the near future.

Best ever breakfast roll in a lovely location. Seating inside and out, excellent choice of food freshly cooked to order. Lovely and friendly owners, will definitely visit again. May have had a new paint job since pictures on site were taken.

Stopped here as good TripAdvisor reviews. We were not disappointed. Breakfast was cooked to order and was tasty. It is a place that what you see is what you get. Loverly and friendly staff. Was hoping to visit again but ran out of time.

Literally just passed it while on way to Llandudno. Stopped off for a coffee and ordered a cheese toastie. Was “banging” and must of had four different cheeses on it. 😋 Seriously best toastie I’ve ever had. Programmed into SatNav so when near in future I’m popping back for sure!! 🥪🧀

We found this place while driving along the A5, Betws-y-Coed was very busy so carried on through. Discovered this place in a layby a couple of miles down the road. Ordered a bacon bap with a mug of coffee. It arrived, freshly cooked, in minutes. If there is a better bacon bap within 20 miles, I would be surprised. I don't know where they get their bacon, it was delicious. A real friendly fellow behind the counter made us feel at home. While we were there people were coming and going all the time, this café comes highly recommended. Will definitely call again.

We'd read the reviews on this layby caravan and thought we'd call in on our way to our holiday in Caernarfon, oh my word, were we glad that we did. What a brilliant little gem this 'cafe' is. The new owners are real characters and obviously take great pride in customer care and their food. It's a different caravan to the one in the photo. The menu is flexible, I don't eat egg so asked for it to be put onto my hubby's plate, I do however like lots and lots of butter on my toast, hey presto loads of it arrived without hesitation. Mark the owner and chef personally cooks to order in front of the customer, on a proper cooker with proper utensils, no microwave here. Our breakfast was piping hot (see my photo's and check out the steam coming off it) it was also absolutely gorgeous. Our best ever fried breccy. We can thoroughly recommend this layby caravan to anyone, it's on the Padog Bends just before Betws y Coed on the A5. We've marked the location on our Ordnance Survey map, so next time we're passing by we shall call in for a good belly buster breccy.

Today (Wednesday) me and Hubby were driving along the main A5 when we saw this quirky caravan cafe on the layby (it's on the same side as the Conwy Falls Cafe). We decided to pull in for a quick lunch. The T-Bar was very small and basic inside. The sitting down area was full of satisfied customers. There was a friendly fella behind the counter. We ordered 2 x big breakfast baps which were freshly cooked whilst we waited. They each consisted of a large round white bap spread with brown sauce and filled with 1 thick rasher of bacon, 1 sausage split open and 1 juicy fried egg. They cost £3 each (paid cash). You can have extra fillings @ 50 pence each. Because we were eating them outside, he put each of them on a paper plate/serviette and wrapped them in silver foil. They were very tasty and filling. I recommend this stop-off if you want no-frills food at a reasonable price.

This caravan in a lay by on the A5 outside Betws y Coed is a hidden gem.The food is fabulous ,the breakfast huge and the staff friendly. We got there just on closing time but they happily served us can't get over both the value for money and the great food. Do not miss this lovely place

I stopped here a couple of times on my last trip to Snowdonia. A fantastic big breakfast, great cuppa. Now a “must visit” on my next Snowdon climb. I’ll be back when I’m next up there in a couple of months.

Called here a few times while stopping at Penmachno. Owner always very friendly and accommodating. Food cooked to order and to taste, prices v reasonable too. I'll be back.

Amazing value breakfast, half the price of all the others locally. Great banter with the owners who were very friendly and helpful. The food is what you'd serve yourself at home. Do yourself a favour, drive 5 minutes out of Betws-Y-Coed on the A5. Will be back!

Great food served with a smile, what more can a girl ask for? Really good selection, lots of nice home made cakes and a decent cup of tea to go with a lovely freshly cooked breakfast, highly recommended!

Unexpectedly nice roadside caravan serving hot breakfast and meals. Stopped for a coffee en route to Snowdonia. Home-made lemon cake was outstanding! Service was quick and friendly! Highly recommended.

The cafe caravan is on the A5 just before Conwy Falls as you head to Betws. I stopped for a bite to eat and was pleasantly surprised with a warm welcome and a cosy atmosphere. The owners were chatty and friendly, fire on to warm you up, homemade cakes as well as the obvious fry up and breakfast baps. The prices are great compared to the inflated ones you get in Betws itself, where you’ll have to queue and wait in Betws. I suggest if you are arriving in or leaving Betws or just passing through you try this place. Great food, delicious cakes. There’s even a convenient portaloo and outside seating.

Me and my Wife was traveling back from visiting family and spotted this little Gem. The owners we friendly and gave great customer service ! Food was top notch highly recommend a visit

Stop what you're doing, go here now, have a cuppa and a nice sit down. Engage in good conversation while enjoying top notch breakfast baps.. No really, just go. It's a fab location just before the tourist trap that is Betws on the A5 before the Ffestiniog turn off. They can cook a fried egg to perfection and the black puds are very yummy. The static caravan is spotless, the decor is pleasant and the location is perfect with good lay by parking. The menu is sadly short but there's a bog so you can even have a peaceful dump after a peaceful bap. Very recommended. Well priced and well tasty! :)

Great place very homely, lovely friendly owner great breakfast bap food is great. I would definitely recommend people go visit this place when in north wales, i know I will be passing by again. Very good pricing too well done mark keep up the good work. X

Yo soy de la vieja escuela y me dan un desayuno completo Inglés o tocino butty en cualquier comida saludable. Así que me tuve que comer un desayuno inglés aquí, bacon comenzó como un bocata rápido, pero descarado, no pude resistirme a cuando vi algunos van recibiendo su conductor. Por el precio, fue el cielo desayuno abundante y cocinado a la perfección.

30 / 5 / 2017 una rápida parada en nuestro camino de regreso desde el Camping en Anglesey re pitch Corwen nr. . Craqueo desayuno completo y una gran conversación. . . La cafetería parece un poco diferente, así que he adjuntado una foto del exterior que tomaron este un día o dos más tarde en nuestro camino de vuelta de otro día de salida después de camping en Carrog. . Gran juego de muchachos que saben qué atención al cliente. . . asientos dentro y fuera también un retrete para los clientes. . . Todos los mejores Phil Denise Cameron y Lydia

Muy amable. Eficiente. Buena calificación de 5 (lo que sea que eso significa, aunque no comer por debajo de 4. . . ). Comida preparada sin complicaciones en la vista, a veces con bromas alrededor. Ahora llevar porque vivo localmente, pero estoy segura de que es un lugar para sentarse y pasar el tiempo con una taza y una comida.

Durante muchos años he utilizado bares butty en todo el Reino Unido y sin duda, este es uno de los mejores que he visitado. Muy bien amueblado, servicio amable y buena comida. Más tienda de té centro de mesa de plástico vestida café transporte! !

Paramos para desayunar y disfrutamos de buena comida, personal muy amable y servicial. Lo recomendaría sumamente. sin duda hacen de este un lugar donde parar a en mi próximo viaje.

Llamamos a la hora del almuerzo y tenía sandwiches bacon y tazas de té. Sólo cuesta £8 por 2 y fue muy agradable. El personal era muy amable y acogedor.

Stopped at the bacon bar today 7-10-16 my husband had the breakfast i had the cheese & mushroom omelette the both so well presented and yummy we call there when passing such value for money service and food excellent better to stop there after 1pm not so busy.

We came by over the weekend as just by chance we saw it passing, what a little gem! A large breakfast bap is £3 and its all really good quality food. It actually made us think of when we used to go over to our nans when we were younger, and getting fed up as we were never allowed to leave feeling hungry haha. Well worth a stop, we will defiantly be returning again soon.

Delicious home cooked food, in comfortable friendly surroundings. Excellent value for money too. A great little find on the A5.

What a fantastic place, service is excellent, food is excellent and the staff are excellent, we always stop off here on our way to Betwys y coed and also on the way home from Betwys y coed.

turned up looking for a bite to eat and ordered a breakfast bap with bacon, sausage and egg for £3 and a cup of tea when it arrived the tea came in a big tea pot wit enough for just over 2 cups and when the food came i was amazed at how much was there i almost struggled to finish it ant that says alot as i eat allot so i would highly recommend anyone who is passing by to pull over and pop in you will be suprisedalso considering they are set up in a static caravan they have sofas to sit on and it makes you feel right at home

Called in last friday10th of June my husband had full english which comes with pot of tea toast and marmalade i had an cheess and tomato omelette all so with pot of tea and B/B at a cost of £9 nothing was to much trouble for the price it was excellent.

called in on way home to yorkshire for bacon butty, superb food and lovely pot of tea . the owners were very welcoming will definitely be calling in when we are in the area again.

It's a caravan on the side of the a5 road in the lay-by. It serves the best ,largest cooked breakfast and breakfast baps and is such value for money. You have to give it a go.

Very nice traditional food cooked and served by a very pleasant lady. Spot on. Refreshing to note no concessions at all to the brown rice and sandals crowd - the black pudding is delicious.

we just stopped to top up our youngest growing lad with some calories and grab a takeaway coffee but ended up fetching my wife in and we stayed for quite a while. What a great place and the breakfast bap really was one of the best ever! The eggs are free range with bright yellow yolks. Big mugs of tea and all very reasonable. You sit in the very warm and cosy "front room" and there are papers and mags to read. Plus lovely service! We have friends coming over form South Africa and this will be one of the places we take them. Well done!

After seeing reviews on here I stopped yesterday morning for a breakfast roll.Absolutely enormous bit of breakfast served in lovely surroundings by a very nice lady.Well worth a visit, great value and quality food.

We have passed many, many times but called in for the first time on Saturday morning. We will definitely call in again. Lovely sausage bap & a large mug of tea. I can't believe how snug the inside is AND my dog was allowed in! We will definitely call in again.

We traveled all over Wales and on a very rainy day as we were heading south from Bangor we came upon the A5 Tea Bar. What a find! Rachel the owner and cook was welcoming, the breakfast was great- bacon butty and sausage and eggs with homemade bread., and plenty of hot tea. It was cold and rainy, and when we went to depart we found our rental car had a flat tire. Rachel immediately set about getting us in touch with road service and a local garage to fix the tire. All in all a wonderful and delicious experience. We will return and stay at her B&B when we do. Thanks Rachel.

I'm a local builder and i knew the people who ran the previous business in this caravan, so let me tell you it has most definitely changed hands.......... Eunis has transformed the place, in cleanliness, in food standards, and in her welcome, the breakfast bap is without doubt the BEST BREAKFAST BAP IN NORTH WALES!!!!Don't take my word for it please stop off there and try it.Wes (North wales Chimneys)

We were on our way to Snowdonia during the freezing weather and were starting to despair at the lack of a decent breakfast place. We'd discounted an overpriced farmshop type place where they wanted about six quid for a bacon butty! And then we spotted the caravan in the lay-by.Not sure what to expect, we decided to order teas and take it from there. We were the only diners at the time, and decided to go for the 'breakfast bap' at £3 a go. The lady there proceeded to cook everything fresh and presented us with these lovely big, fresh rolls full of bacon, egg & sausage. All washed down with a decent mug of tea. What's not to like?We found that Snowdonia has its share of overpriced tourist traps, so it was a delight to find such a homely, friendly place where quality and service takes precedence. Good luck to them!

I have seen the blue caravan in passing and just recently started to call in.
