A Casa Mia in Canterbury

We were at a makeshift table which was not levelled and uncomfortable. The lights were to bright & flickered annoyingly when turned down. The pizzas were sparingly topped for the price. We were just an hour over our meal when they obviously wanted us to leave. It was just after 9pm. Even the owner/chef had his coat on as we left! Guessing they only get customers as there’s not much choice in the area. The last 2 occasions have been disappointing. Sorry to say, but has to be said.

Brilliant afternoon tea. Sat outside in the garden. As good an afternoon tea as anywhere and a fraction of the price. You don’t need to go to The Ritz

Authentic and good quality cuisine. Very friendly and helpful staff. Thank you for a lovely relaxed meal. Highly recommended and reasonable value.

We had a fantastic dinner here on the last Saturday of December. The food is always wonderful - the quality is excellent and we've never had a course we didn't enjoy. The staff were lovely and very efficient. Such a great place to eat whether you want pizza or pasta. Would recommend it to anyone.

Casa Mia has a great reputation for Neapolitan pizza and can only add that the reputation is well deserved. Having been fortunate to have had a pizza in Naples, the Casa Mia pizza is the real deal. However, one small beef. We ordered focaccia bread for the table, only to be served pizza or flat bread. We asked after the fact that what was served wasn't what was described, to be told it's a dipping bread. That's maybe, but the menu states focaccia? Can I suggest the menu and what is served is the same please? Apart from that, we had a lovely time, food was first class and will be back very soon.

Never been before, but was recommended by work colleagues, and was very pleasantly surprised, it was very nice and I will definitely be going back.

Nous sommes venus 2 fois dans ce restaurant, une fois pour des pizzas à emporter et une deuxième fois sur place. Le personnel est très sympathique et accueillant mais nous avons été déçu lors de notre deuxième visite par la cuisine, le concentré de tomates utilisé dans les pâtes semble être le même que pour les pizzas et autant ça convient pour une pizza, autant pas pour des pâtes. La quantité est également un peu juste (pourtant nous ne sommes pas des grands mangeurs). Dommage pour cette 2eme expérience, si vous y mangez je vous recommande des pizzas mais pas autre chose.

We came as a family for my son's 7th birthday and ordered a seafood risotto, mussels, a capricciosa pizza for the adults, and two items off the kid's menus. The food was painfully slow to arrive (almost 1 hr), even though we arrived at 17.45 and well before rush hour, and there was only one or two other tables being served, and risotto being ordered (I expect a 25 min wait). The waitress was friendly and apologetic and her service was good, and so the 3/5 for service is a reflection of the slow food arriving. Fortunately the food was very good and the Napolitana style pizza very authentic. A Casa Mia really does specialize in pasta and pizza and there are little to no other options for typical secondi piatti found in most Italian restaurants. A word about the ambience: Not the best, the acoustics of the small room meant that it was difficult to hear what was being said over the conversation from the other tables. Would I go again? not to the restaurant but would definitely get a take-away pizza if I was in the area.

Lunchtime meal and a real treat. Genuine Napulitano resteraunt. Great service and atmosphere. Meatballs and potato starter was amazing along with a pasta and pizza main course. Sadly we are not local so can't come here as often as we might like to but highly recommended.

I was going to take my 5 & 9 year old granddaughters out for an early dinner, a table booked for us online. As the day progressed, 3 became 10 & as the restaurant doesn’t open till 5pm, our table booked for 5:45pm, cutting it fine to see if we could all book. In true Casa Mia style, they accommodated us all at short notice despite being fairly busy so early. The usual outstanding service from waiting staff, food as usual freshly cooked, delicious & hot. There’s a reason this is our go to restaurant, the welcoming team, the exceptional service, the lovely family vibe & great value for money. I don’t eat pizza, been all over Italy & pizza isn’t my thing but at Cada Mia, I eat pizza, outstanding!

Spent a lovely evening at A Casa Mia last week with my wife. Had two different courses each, all of which were really good, and left us with no room for a sweet. Fantastic service from Natalie and Freya helped make this a very special night for us.

I visited A Casa Mia as part of a weekend trip to Canterbury and the Kent Coast. The restaurant merits its high rating, with excellent staff and fantastic food. Like most people, I have eaten plenty of pizzas in my lifetime, and A Casa Mia's pizza is definitely up there amongst the best.

Came here for a meal while visiting Herne Bay for a few days. Lovely restaurants, amazing authentic pizzas, nice wines and lovely people - the ladies who served our meal were friendly and fun. Would definitely recommend.

Always a delight when we visit. They are so good with my son's allergies. He loves going to Casa Mia as they cater for his allergies which is brilliant as alot of other restaurants don't.

It's really great pizza. Quick service from polite and friendly staff. It's easily the best pizza in Herne Bay. I had the Diavola but tried the Marinara and Margherita too, and they were all spectacular. Soft drinks are served in the glass bottles as they should be. Had deserts too, which were of a similarly high standard Would definitely recommend it, but remember to book as even on a weekday early doors the place was still quite busy.

The first 2 or 3 times the pizza was excellent. Unfortunately, the last couple of times not so much. One pizza had hardly any cheese, (I don't like lots of cheese) but the cheese was barely there. The other pizza was on the crunchy side. I think the owner/pizza maker is overwhelmed and overworked. He needs to hire help or the restaurant will suffer for it. I hope they read the feedbacks and think about changes.

We have visited A Casa Mia many times. We keep going back because the food, service and atmosphere are just brilliant. Would definitely recommend if you haven’t yet tried it

What a shame. The service was very slow and the servers not very friendly. Mussels were disgusting. I used to visit regularly but expected better.

We had a great time, the food would be hard pressed to be any better, it was lush. Staff very attentive and such a laugh.

My friend and I made a last minute decision to visit this restaurant and booked a table online. We were welcomed on arrival. Staff were attentive. We ordered pizza and salad. All was great until we had been there for about an hour then staff shut up all the windows - It was very hot. By this time we were the only customers in the restaurant. It was obvious that the staff wanted to go home as they were standing by the till glancing our way. We felt uncomfortable so asked for our bill and left. It was only 9.30 and the restaurant had a 10pm closing time.

Had a lovely meal tonight with good very attentive well trained staff supervised by Natalie who was excellent. All the food was 10/10 apart from the house merlot which was not good so I ordered a really nice bottle of red, very nice, resulting in a total meal cost of £155.50 for 4. I didn't complain about the poor house red but did complain about the £5.50 charge for a single portion of undercooked chips which nobody eat and when the table was cleared we reported to the staff. We then we're subjected to a lecture by the lady of the house who we all felt was very rude. Great food, great service but get rid of that lady who ruined the whole nights experience for £5.50 or at cost probably 50p at most

Restaurant used for birthdays and anniversaries for a number of years but unfortunately no more. We wanted tagliatelle but they didn't have any!! so we had large pasta tubes with mussels not a very successful combination. We were at Herne Bay for 4 days, and we got takeout twice at A Casa Mia. Delicious Marinara pizzas, Margarita pizza, perfect base and crust. Very friendly staff. Recommend this to all who visit Herne Bay.

We went as a family of 5, with 3 children, 1 of which has additional needs. Whilst playing a game to ensure the youngest didn't fall asleep before dinner arrived, we were shocked to be told to be quiet, very rudely, arrogantly and bluntly, by a family of adults (particularly the father) who were sitting on the next table. Luckily, the restaurant were mortified when they found out at the end of our meal and loudly assured us that they are a family run establishment and that children are always welcome at their restaurant. Another table with a family sitting close by also reassured us that we had done nothing wrong and commended us on having dinner with 3 young children without any devices. We are grateful that we were supported in such a shocking situation and we hope that the family who were rude to us learn to approach things in different manner in future, or even better, just ask to be moved to another part of the restaurant if you don't like children, or find an establishment who don't welcome children! Thank you to all at A Casa Mia for making us feel welcome, we appreciate it! ❤

Our first visit to Casa Mia and were greeted as though we were their only customers. We hadn't booked, but they did everything to find my wife and I a table given they were fully booked, so on that front, it was excellent service. The restaurant was run very well given the unusual layout and, again, treated us very well indeed. Food was of excellent quality and well presented but surprisingly not too expensive, so even better. If a fault had to be found, then I might say a little salty, although that might just be the type of chosen pizza. Still, the pizza was excellent, and all was consumed. It is most definitely a place to return to when we visit Herne Bay again. Not much else to add other than a thank you to the staff there and again, a great pizza restaurant with plenty of accolades and recommendations from professionals, and that surely says something. A great little family run Italian restaurant with friendly service and excellent food. The menu has changed since we were last there, I don't think there was as much choice of pasta dishes. When I booked I told them one of the group was pescatarian and they made a delicious special for her, which was very good. We were there on a Sunday evening and it was very nearly empty, which was a shame.

A real favourite restaurant of mine! Visited on dozens of occasions of the past few years and have never been disappointed. The pizzas are excellent but on the occasions when I've strayed into other parts of the menu, I've been equally impressed (I can highly recommend the Pacherri 'a casa mia').
