wonderful new menu by declan, food was amazing. sevince and drinks were exceptional from mr gavin sharp. highly recommend, will be back soon!

You think it’s a pub … but it’s a bar … with a pub feel … but cocktails … so confusing but just great. Bar staff with proper in-depth knowledge of what they sell. Booze buffs who are almost geeky about their cocktail knowledge. It’s busy and lively with good background music and food seems to be popular too (although we didn’t try any)

AMAZING! The cutest, cosiest spot in Aberdeen. I have been multiple times in the past month with my husband and with my friends in big groups and every time it has been fantastic. I am obsessed with their kitchen residency, How Bao Now! Their food is to die for. The drinks are unique with great cocktails and non alcoholic options. I LOVE the menus, makes my little creative brain so happy. Staff are so friendly and make an effort to make your evening amazing. It’s my go-to bar in Aberdeen as I always know I can count on them to have a great evening!

Saturday lunchtime with friends. Staff were very welcoming and explained what was on the menu. Great service. Food was delicious but not keen on it being served on disposable paper trays. We had the bao buns, fried chicken, halloumi fries, side salads. Portions are generous. Great cocktails but a bit pricey. The only drawback was we couldn't get a table and chairs setting so were seated at high stools and bar table which is ok if you're just having a drink but is very uncomfortable when you're there for longer having a meal. I would only return again for a meal if could get table and chairs. A deposit has to be paid when making a reservation, this is deducted off the bill of course.

Tucked away this Bar / restaurant punches above its weight and is a real delight! The Korean dishes were absolutely amazing , despite being really busy ( a good sign) the service was fantastic ( thank you Aldina , you were superb!) . My wife is not easily pleased but couldnt praise the quality of food and taste more highly. Thank you to the hard working and talented staff !

I’ve been here a few times and I have to say each and every time has been just as good as the time before. The bao buns are out of this world deliciousness, the first will have you begging for more, complete with a topping of your choice. I ordered round two, they were so moreish. Those Katsu dusted halloumi fries are the game changer, never share!! Everyone needs a whole side of their own, wow!! Then those fries with toppings are made for sharing, what a pile. The chicken wings, banging!!! Winner winner all round dinner. The Gyozas were very very tasty, we asked for duck and got vegan by mistake, I wasn’t even disappointed, it was amazing. The drinks and service were just on the same level as the food. Lovely and welcoming. The ambience with the lights and music just sets a very laid back and chilled vibe. Loved it, would and have recommended to so many, book a table because it gets very busy you don’t want to miss that.

Such a warm and pleasant atmosphere, combining an old-school, speakeasy vibe with simple, homely decor. The cocktail menu had a good amount of choice. The Swipe Right packed a punch for my tastebuds in the best possible way! This was a perfect stop to wind down and enjoy a chill drink to finish the night. The service was also great, with very friendly staff.

Nice place that combines coffee, wine and food - Great as it was later in the afternoon and initially both required. Food was delicious, tried something new and it was tasty. house wines were good. Atmosphere nice and customer service excellent. Will try coffee next visit.

The staff here are superb. Aldina's modern industrialised take on a pornstar martini is quite the spectacle. Her finesse is second to none. Cameron's attentiveness to customers makes you feel welcome... Like a home away from home. Marik's drinks were made and timed to perfection. Never did I find myself in wanting of a beverage. Consider me watered. 5 stars. Good gaff.

Cocktails best in town however food a little expensive yet tasty. Cocktails can’t be matched in Aberdeen and the staff are very nice and attentive. 5 stars if the food price reflected on the portion size.

Visited with 2 pals on Sat 28th Aug @ 4.45pm for drinks. Staff were very friendly & welcoming and we had excellent service from one particular young man. He was just lovely - friendly, attentative & charming and looked after us 3 middle aged ladies very well indeed!! (Sorry I've forgotten his name but he was 23 years old if that helps). The cocktails were delicious too! We had a very enjoyable couple of hours in 99 Bar & Kitchen - thank you!

Great atmosphere, live music and big selection of cocktails and spirits available. The bar staff was attentive and the food from the new vegan menu was to die for!

We enter places if we see a nice inviting warmness and a good selection of food. Walking past Ninety-Nine Bar & Kitchen was quite nice and inviting so we entered and tried it out.Staff, very welcoming and friendly.Decor, very nice, contemporary and fresh.Menu, balanced with options for everyone.Drinks, extensive with a bit of everything.The waiter took our order of (if I remember rightly) OG Meatless Burger, and another burger with Pico de Gallo and miso, sorry can't remember the name.Overall......The meatless Burger 10/10, it was Fab, tasty and incredibly similar to a real meat burger BUT better. The other burger wasn't that great, a soggy but tasty burger but not as advertised, no intense flavour from the Pico de Gallo (lived in Latin America so know exactly the taste of cilantro and lime needed), and couldn't taste any miso. Fries were really tasty too.The staff asked us if we enjoyed the meal and related our food knowledge with positive feedback.RecommendationsGreat cozy place with incredible vegan options, as it should be as everything is plant based.Staff are super friendly and take positive criticism well. Me gusta este lugar y he estado allí muchas veces. Sin embargo, hoy tomé unas cervezas y una hamburguesa (como siempre). La hamburguesa era pobre y no sabía a carne de res. . . . . el personal parecía bastante satisfecho con ellos mismos cuando anunciaron que era una hamburguesa vegana a base de plantas. No se anunciaba como tal y si lo hubiera sabido, no lo habría ordenado.Me parece un lugar que necesita personal más maduro.

Decidieron regresar por la noche para tomar una copa antes de ir a un concierto, hicieron su propia versión de una pareja si bebían. . . aguardiente de durazno y también rosa de tequila, ¡ambos eran Devine! ! !Muy recomendable ya que el personal es muy amable y alegre.

ROOTS Catering se ha hecho cargo de la comida en 99 Bar y están haciendo un trabajo increíble. He estado en ROOTS en primera línea de playa (que todavía está abierto de viernes a domingo) pero esta es una nueva ubicación adicional.Gran variedad de entrantes, platos principales y postres. Buena comida de pub, como hamburguesas, papas fritas cargadas y nachos. Tenía la hamburguesa sureña frita que era maravillosamente crujiente, pan tostado brioche, condimento de repollo rojo y guacamole - ¡delicioso! !El personal fue muy amable y servicial a pesar de estar ocupado. Mi botella de cerveza fue traída a la mesa con un vaso de media pinta con hoyuelos, helados, marcas completas para esto, y un vaso de agua de bienvenida que ni siquiera había pedido.Bar es bien conocido por sus cócteles. Only had drinks here, but the service every time i've been in has been amazing. Ordered drinks at the bar, they said just grab a table and they were delivered and added to a tab. Just want you want from a bar, easy and relaxing.

Ora di pranzo, appena arrivati ad Aberdeen, ci guardiamo intorno ma nessun posto sembra fare al caso nostro. Finché, in una viuzza laterale, non adocchio questo pub. Senza un motivo preciso mi convince da subito, mi dà già da fuori l'idea di essere un posto alla mano e tipico, così entriamo. Camerieri stragentili e strascozzesi, simpaticissimi (alla fine ci danno anche dei consigli su cosa vedere in città di bello). Cibo molto buono: io ho preso il classico fish&chips, che ho adorato, frittura perfetta e patatine tagliate rigorosamente a mano e saporitissime, con salsa al whiskey di accompagnamento. Il mio amico ha preso... la pasta al pesto, e con mia grande sorpresa aveva un ottimo aspetto ed era davvero buona. Ottime birre. Rapporto qualità prezzo onesto.

On our 5 night stay in Aberdeen my wife and I visited this location for drinks and food.

Ordered some Nachos and very disappointed, this was laced with chillies and mint sauce. No guacamole or sour cream!

I visit here loads with friends and my boyfriend! The best cocktails (the rhubarb and custard one is amazing). Super classy and always a good atmosphere with proper djs providing perfect weekend music. Great for a nightcap or to start the night!

We had an Itison voucher for 12 Scottish tapas dishes and a bottle of Prosecco. The food was excellent and although the voucher was for 4 people, we had more than enough for 5 of us. A special thank you to our lovely young waitress who was spot on with her recommendations for both food and wine...........excellent service. It did get a bit noisy later in the evening when the DJ took over, but I guess its a different crowd by the time they stop serving food. Worth a visit.

Visited with a friend on Sat 27th July. Staff were really friendly & welcoming. We had the Tapas & everything was delicious. A very enjoyable afternoon with a couple of bottles of rose wine. Highly recommended

El servicio fue fantástico y eso es lo que me impulsó a escribir una reseña. En estos días, a menudo, la buena comida puede ser decepcionada por un servicio descuidado, el personal que no ha sido evaluado antes de cambiar de turno, o no conoce las cervezas. Nuestra experiencia aquí fue diferente, todo el personal que nos servía era alegre y conocía, recibí una buena recomendación sobre la comida y fueron capaces de guiarnos por el marido en la cerveza. Estuvimos encantados de encontrarnos con el encantador Ninety - Nine Bar and Kitchen cuando fuimos a Aberdeen. Went here for a few cocktails with my wife but we struggled to get through to the bar to get a drink as it was very busy. The music too was very loud and we couldnt hear what each other were saying.

Pleasant environment, decent music and good location BUT (and it's a big "but") I've been twice recently and both times the bar staff have been charging different amounts for identical rounds. Gonna be honest - didn't complain either time (as assumed we may have been undercharged the first time) but the second time it happened (the following week) we started becoming a bit suspicious. First week it was just by a couple of quid (enough to slip under the radar), second week around four...

Después de salir a comer, decidimos ir a un teatro nocturno antes de ir a casa. Nunca había estado en el 99 antes. Tienen una gran selección de whisky. El bar tiene un gran ambiente y el servicio era muy bueno. Definitivamente vale la pena una visita.

Cenamos aquí una noche después de descubrir que el lugar que originalmente habíamos reservado para esa noche, usaba ingredientes congelados. Para empezar, si recuerdo, era una especie de bola de masa con una salsa satay, que estaba bien. El Back Wynd Burger para main fue genial. Un bonito y pequeño lugar y bueno para bebidas.

Tomé sopa de tomate y albahaca que era encantadora, claramente casera y espesa. También tuve los nachos que fueron decepcionantes, la forma en que se sirven con la salsa verde, etc. significaba que eran muy aceitosas y dejé la mayoría de ellos. ¡Mis amigos de chips gruesos fueron realmente geniales! El servicio también fue excelente, la camarera que tuvimos fue encantadora

Le 99 est un restaurant agréable et tres musical et qualité supreme : c'est le seul qu'on a trouvé alors qu'on crevait littéralement de faim!

Today I took my daughter to 99 for lunch , after several attempts to find a decent burger while eating out (apparently I’m fussy about burgers ,I have high standards when it comes to food .)

Great atmosphere. Fabulous cocktails. The food is delicious. The staff are really friendly. There was live music on and it was a fabulous way to enjoy the delights of Aberdeen. I will definitely be going back.

We have been to Bar 99 so many times and love the venue & staff. Problem today was they have changed the tonic to some rubbish called Franklin & Sons instead of Fever Tree. It was flat and completely ruined the lovely Porters Gin. In fact the mixer was so poor it would ruin the poorest of gin. Please reinstate Fever tree or you will loose some loyal customers to some new establishments in Aberdeen !

In Aberdeen for day and came across this restaurant just off Union street. The staff were very friendly and efficient and the food very good. Would use this again when in Aberdeen.

I have visited Bar 99 many times over the years for both food and drinks and I don't think I have ever had a bad experience!! The staff are amazing - always so friendly and helpful, especially when taking cocktail requests! The staff are a real credit to Bar 99.. as are the drinks....!! Best cocktails in Aberdeen and very good value compared to other establishments that charge more and seem to load their drinks up with ice!

Waiter was wonderful and explained a dish or two we didn't know about. Cool atmosphere: modern pub-ish.

My husband and I stopped in for lunch last week and we were so pleased we did. The staff are so friendly and helpful and the food is gorgeous. We only had the Thick Cut Chips but wow they were huge and delicious. They arrived hot and quickly and cooked well. A real gem of a bar and one that should not be missed

Was here on a Saturday night, wasn't too busy. Great cocktails, only a menu of about 6 drinks but you just ask the bar staff for whatever you want or tell them what kind of tastes you like and they will make you something up. Reasonably priced for location. Table service and tabs available. Highly recommend.

Came in for just a couple of drinks, ended up with food and wasn't disappointed. All the staff here are super friendly and know their stuff. The drinks are delicious and the slow cooked beef I had with my cocktail was amazing.

Visited on a busy Saturday night with the bar staff working flat out. On arriving at the bar, I was acknowledged by one of the staff who told me that he'd be with me in a couple of minutes. Having finished serving his customer, he then returned as promised. Similar high standard of service each time we visit.

Recently visited 99 for a meal and drinks. Service was absolutely fantastic from the start, with water being brought to the table before we had even asked. Our waiter was very attentive and dealt with all our requests with good grace and charm. On top of this, the food was excellent and the cocktails superb - even off menu requests were no trouble. Stopped in for a bit of lunch. Made feel welcome. Decor antique chic maybe? Suits the atmos. The food was amazing and definitely freshly cooked (quesadillas) and the lovely 'strawberry blonde' waiter recommended an alcohol free beer for me. Was in town for work but will definitely be returning when visiting for fun

We were recommended 99 Bar for cocktails. It looked good and lively when we entered. We ordered 4 x G&T;’s which arrived and clearly had neither alcohol nor tonic in them. We sent them back and a different barman (nice lad with a bow tie) made half decent ones without a fuss. Went back for a couple of caipirinhas shortly afterwards and they were hopeless. Had some upstart behind the bar giving me an earful about who he was trained by rather than just fixing the problem. We lived in Brazil for years and know what a caipirinha is, thankyou. It gave a bad vibe to what had been a lovely evening so we left. I would give the drinks a 1 but have given an extra star for the barman in a bow tie - the only one who seems to know how to make a cocktail in that place.

Been a regular here for a few years at least and food is always incredible, usually opt for the special or burger of the week but menu is a good variation of pub classics done nicely or dishes with some good twists on flavours and ingredients

Very disappointed with the female manager who was rude and unhelpful after double booking our table. She did not respect our wishes and undermined our family get together. We regularly use this bar and was very embarrassed then had to walk away due to her negative stance. Will not be back, your loss ££.

We booked our staff night out here and everything was perfect! We ordered some food canapés which were huge and so cheap - DELICIOUS!! The bartenders were very helpful in giving recommendations surrounding drinks and were very attentive throughout the night. They also let us change the music to something more upbeat! Only thing i'd say is don't contact them by email - take ages to reply - better to call and get it booked there and then! Overall very accommodating and will definitely be back!!

Here for food and drinks with friends a week or so ago, the food was well portioned, delicious, the drinks equally so, and the staff very friendly, welcoming, and looked after us well throughout our visit.

Lovely welcome and immediately received menu and glass of lemon water. Order placed and then it became to deteriorate.

We had booked this for a friends special birthday. When we got there we took the cocktail menu upstairs and chose our drinks. I went down to the bar and ordered and was told they would take them upstairs to us. We waited about 40 minutes before I had to go downstairs to be informed they had forgotten. Now that is bad enough but it was Barmans attitude when the drinks were finally delivered about 15 minutes later. He did apologise but it was very much as a 14 year old made by his mother to do so. No compensation or offer was made just a I said I was sorry. I could understand if this was when they were really busy but it was a Thursday afternoon and there were only a few others in.

Yesterday evening we booked Bar 99 for dinner and drinks, when we arrived we were informed that the kitchen had to shut due to unforeseen circumstances.. we immediately thought this was going to be an issue as everywhere was busy but we were pleasantly surprised

briliant venue for relaxed cocktails with friends. waiters recommended cocktails for us based on our likes and dislikes and served us at our table. no pressure to move quickly. great venue - loved the b.w films projected on to the walls too!

We had dinner last night in a great atmosphere. The staff is very helpful, creative and friendly. And I mean: honest friendliness, not that kind of forced smile friendliness you come across more and more nowadays.

This has to be my favourite bar in Aberdeen. It's always chilled with a relaxed atmosphere. Comfy seats and lack of big screen tv adds to the charm.

Great pub which always is busy without being packed during the week. Can't comment re weekends. Staff are v knowledgeable re cocktails and take their mixology serious. I only visit when in town on business and clientele is mixed in ages. Only little gripe is they always seem to run out of certain draft beers on Wednesdays as they get their delivery on Thursday. Maybe up the orders slightly to avoid this, as a pub with no beer is avoidable. I guess it could be due to the footfall but they have a selection of draft beers so they always have something pouring. On the upside on a Wednesday there is live music and he is happy for requests. And sometimes they have classic movies showing on their large screen muted but it doesn't stop you watching if it's one of your favourites.

I love Bar 99. I don't live in Aberdeen, but when I visit its one of my favourite places to drop by for a glass of wine or some food on a Saturday afternoon. Normally we are lucky enough to time it right for a table although I don't know how - its always jam packed.The staff are brilliant. Everyone I have encountered working at this bar is so friendly and they are always happy for you to take a seat and serve you at your table - so this makes it a great pace to spend a relaxing afternoon! Michael really looked after us on my last visit, so thanks Michael! If you are after a pint, a prosecco or a fancy cocktail it doesn't matter, there seems to be no pretention here as long as you are enjoying yourself - one of the reasons I keep coming back!The atmosphere is great. Films are projected on the wall and during the day the music is good but unintrusive - perfect for catch ups over a glass of wine! (I would like to add I find the drinks reasonably priced here too).The food has always been excellent - I little bit quirkier than the standard pub fare and all the better for it. Again, really reasonably priced and they have a good selection of daily specials. The steak sandwich is excellent, as is the Amity scampi. For those looking for a quick snack they also do a great selection of charcuterie, cheeseboard and sides. If I had one tiny criticism its that the ladies toilets could do with a refurb as they are a little grubby but it would not stop me coming back.All in all, great food, great drinks, great service, great location. Its a lovely gem in the heart of Aberdeen away from the usual chains and franchises - keep up the good work guys!

I stumbled upon this while looking for a bite to eat. The side streets in City Centre have a great deal to offer, and this place was no exception. The atmosphere was very inviting with a vintage charm about it. It was laid back with friendly staff, and they had classic cartoons playing. Their menu and cocktails are unique, and I doubt anyone would be unhappy with anything there. I was only looking for a lighter lunch, so, I ordered the cullen skink. I can truly say that I have never had cullen skink any better than what I discovered at 99 Bar &amp; Kitchen. Check this place out for sure! If you're not hungry, just grab a pint and relax a bit, you'll be glad you did.

I used to enjoy Bar 99 for lunch at the weekend - and drinks of an evening - but standards have dropped alarmingly. These days the place looks tired and shabby, the food is usually overcooked, and many menu items are not available. The staff have always been a bit cool, (not in a good way) with customers who don't fit their preferred 21-30 'hipstery' demographic, and have recently added a particularly unpleasant weekend doorman. This vulgar, charmless and aggressive oaf operates a highly discriminatory admittance policy. Perhaps he is the one who has prevented the cleaners from gaining admittance because frankly, the place is in need of a good scrub.Best avoided. There a number of better alternatives close by.

First off, I must say that the staff are absolutely excellent, and if the establishments website had been more accurate about their menu, I would have rated it higher!Being our first time in Aberdeen, I saw this place on TripAdvisor. I checked the website and downloaded the "Full Menu", which included ribeye steak, and lamb. As it was just around the corner from where we were staying, we decided to try it out. Unfortunately, the menu we were presented with, bore no resemblance to the one I got of the website.However, the food was good, but the Cullen Skink could have been hotter. The waitress did offer to change it when this was mentioned to her.

Will never tire of coming here, if you like good food that isn't mass produced, a menu that is well thought out and a great selection of whisky and gin then this is the place to go Tastefully decorated and tucked away just behind the main street of Aberdeen is this hidden gem of a place that is idyllic for nice lunch and a catch up or a few drinks and some bar snacks done well. Spacious, good atmosphere, and staff are always warm and welcoming without being intrusiveFood is always superb, I try and opt for the special of the day cause I know even something sounds a little too adventurous I will more than likely be pleasantly surprised Overall if you're looking for somewhere to eat or have a drink in Aberdeen then you can't go wrong with 99 Bar

We had visited 99 bar for a relaxing cocktail or two after we had completed day 3 of the international Orienteering championships. Obviously, after 3 days of mountain running, my legs were very stiff. So when, I struggled to get out of my seat, the night manager decided I was drunk &amp; to be refused service. My wife &amp; I explained &amp; he did say we could stay. But the damage was done. I didn't wish to stay in an establishment that can't be bothered to properly look into whether they have a drunk or just a person with stiff legs.

Nice little restaurant with a good menu and a good selection of vegetarian/vegan options. Food was really tasty, but did take a little while to arrive. Service was fine.

This is a friendly joint just yards from the busy Union St. The staff are brilliant, really helpful and you are looked after very much. Quite a small selection of beers, but plenty of wine, spirits and cocktails. The food menu is a little quirky and a bit niche which just about sums up what they are trying to achieve. Perhaps a little pretentious ( like the starter not coming on a plate), but hey, this is no ordinary place. As for the food, well the Haggis Fritter starter was divine. Main course was also very tasty.It's a pity there is no category on tripadvisor between very good and excellent, because this is where 99 is.

The staff are wonderful, always friendly and attentive, and the food and drinks are fab. Would recommend for drinks, lunch, dinner, or even just a nice place to hang out. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, with the staff and other customers very welcoming. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Some of the tastiest cocktails we have had. Staff were very helpful. The idea that you give them what kind of spirits you like and they will make you drinks with them is great as it let's you try out new cocktails that you will like. Highly recommend.

Went to 99 Bar &amp; Kitchen for a bite to eat and drinks after work tonight. I've often wondered what the 99 represented, however I didn't expect it to mean it took 99 minutes to get your food. In fairness it was about 83 minutes and we complained after 55. I would have complained earlier but (1) I'm Aberdonian; (2) we were using an Itison voucher - see (1); and (3) I didn't want to run the risk of my burger getting an unwanted dressing or the kitchen staff playing hoopla with my side order of onion rings on the chef's appendage. Upon investigation, a computer error was blamed and the guy serving us was very apologetic and said the extra charges we'd incurred would be waived, fair enough. When the food eventually arrived a different member of staff asked if we wanted condiments - after another delay I began to wonder if he'd gone to Sainsbury's Local to buy them. I have to admit the food was very good, not worth an 83 minute wait but good nonetheless. And the server was true to his word and said we didn't need to pay anything and offered us complimentary drinks which we declined as we needed to leave. A mixed bag but I was prepared to give it another try in the future. That was until we left and a different member of staff chased us up Back Wynd shouting after us implying we'd done a runner without paying the bill! With plenty of passers by it was very embarrassing, my face was like 99 red balloons. Think I'll stick to a 99 ice cream in the future...

Went here on Saturday night for food around 7 as had checked out menus on website and looked good ,as did the cocktails . But was told to busy not serving food on a Saturday night . Strange I thought but went elsewhere. Went back for a cocktail after dinner busy but not overly busy . But cocktail menu was not what was on website. Ordered any they were ok but nothing special. Checked website to make sure I had correct place and it was . Never mind . Staff were friendly and efficient.

We had a beer and a cider and a veggie and cheese tapas plate. The service was very nice and the tapas plate ok for sharing.

Visited on Sunday afternoon and it was fairly busy but nice and light and bright. Staff seemed genuinely keen and enthusiastic about the food. Quick to answer questions and happy to provide more information. Both hubby and I went for specials - me the chicken cordon bleu and herbed new potatoes, him the lamb burger. He said it was tasty and juicy and mine was good with the exception perhaps of some tarragon in the potatoes which was a little overpowering. Friends both had chicken burgers that looked lovely with a nice sweetcorn relish.

My first visit here with a group of my ladies. We were seated upstairs i felt abit like I was in a living room type area but it was really chilled! Waitress staff were really cheery and helpful. Cocktails were amazing! I'll be back

A friend and I catch up 3/4 times a year. We went to 99 Bar &amp; Kitchen today. The service was top notch and the food was incredible. Between us we shared the Vegan Pizza and Fries and the Falafel Flatbread. The food was tasty, well presented and excellent value! We also washed it down with a bottle of Sauvingon! The atmosphere was lovely, friendly and relaxed! We arrived at 1300 and left close to 1600! We will definitely be back and would highly recommend a visit here!
