Excellent delicious food, we all enjoyed our meal. Great service. Good choices, we had 3 courses and will definitely return.

Food was amazing and people were super friendly! Managed to fit us in when they were really busy and we loved it. Loved the spice levels and options of dishes!

Very friendly staff. Food excellent. Afew great options for vegetarian and vegans. Free desert for Valentine’s Day, which was exceptional. There was also a special valentines menu this month which made it special for regulars too.

Amazing meal and lovely, friendly staff. We got the five course taster menu which we loved. Cocktails were great too. Staff were attentive, making you feel welcome. Will definitely return when in Aberdeen again.

We went for my Dad's birthday and the service was terrific. The food was excellent and catered for someone looking for Vegan and Gluten Free options. Would highly recommend it. However, it did open at 1pm rather than the 2pm stated on the door so would suggest updated that, just to cater for anyone looking for lunch.

Service was quite slow. Waiting 2hrs for the food. Dhal was not to my liking and the Briyani didn’t taste as authentic as I was hoping.

Visited for Aberdeen restaurant week and got the tasting menu. £25 per person and such a feast! The menu had lots of options...i thought we had to pick 1 item from each section, but every option was included in the price. Amazing value for money, so filling and so delicious. Definitely worth a visit

Came here for Aberdeen Restaurant Week. Seated promptly and given a warm, friendly welcome. The restaurant week menu was explained and the first two dishes arrived promptly and given a description of them by the waiter. Then it was a very long wait for the next course, then another long wait for the next. Which was a shame because the food was lovely, as in really good. All in all the food is incredibly fine, the staff were lovely and friendly but it was let down by the slow service, I got the impression that they were struggling with the demand. The only thing that really irked me was the service charge on the bill which we were not informed about. If I could be guaranteed good service I’d be back in a heartbeat and it seems I may have just not been lucky this time around.

I have enjoyed eating at 8848 before and this time we had extended standby before going offshore so booked a table for dinner. Given we only had jogging bottoms and trainers to wear, I was a little apprehensive about eating anywhere on a Friday night dressed for the gym. The welcome we received was slightly apprehensive, the staff appeared somewhat confused by our attire, however we were seated quickly, albeit away from the main eating area. The kebab starter was delicious and nicely presented, as I have eaten this before here it was consistently nice. The Lamb Shank Roghan Josh was delayed in coming out unfortunately, and I found it to be quite a bland dish with no discernable flavour which was disappointing, as on previous visits it was delicious. My colleague reported his to be equally lacking in flavour. Perhaps an off night, an anomaly which was not as good as previous visits, and we left satisfied entirely with quantity, but unfortunately not this time on quality.

Delightful meal in a quiet environment. The service was efficient, accurate, and polite. Papadums and chutney tray was tasty and crisp. The vegetable pakora was tasty and perfectly spiced. The lambshank could have been grilled after the slow cooking. It was tender, succulent, and melted in my mouth. The lemon ice cream was a refreshing ending. Tank you for a delightful evening.

The beautiful 8848 restaurant! (get it?) named after the height of Mt everest in meters, or 29,0029 feet. fantastic Nepalese cuisine served in luxury by staff that are extremely helpful and friendly. Multi award winning and a fantastic hidden gem nestled the the heart of Aberdeen. Would highly recommend.

The Aberdeen Insurance Institute booked the restaurant for a Curry & Quiz night The 8848 provided us with an exclusive facility upstairs where the food was excellent and the service exceptional, even including table service for any drinks required. Everybody enjoyed the night and I am sure there will be a lot of the quizzers returning!

Excellent butter chicken and man.

Upon entering my bucal cavity, the Naan breads seemingly activated taste buds I ignored the existence of. On top of this oneiric delicacy, we are plunged on a mood which helps elevate the experience. Both bewildering and comforting.

Chicken Lukla is without one of the top curries ive ever tasted. Surprisingly it went off the menu for a while with the lamb version taking centre stage, which was very good in its own right but just falls short of perfection. The Chicken Lukla is perfection 👍👍

Dined as a group of 7 at the upstairs dining room. Great service, atmosphere and fantastic food. Highly recommend giving this restaurant a visit if in the city and would recommend booking at the weekend.

Brilliant curry, perhaps best I've ever eaten! With the starter and main I could barely finish the meal but it was superb!

Just your average Indian Restaurant, food OK and Service.

Went with a large group on a weekday when Offshore Europe conference was happening. Offshore week 5 course menu was specifically on for it. Started with panipuri, served to each person directly which were great, and often sadly lacking as an option at many other Indian restaurants. Other courses were excellent, especially rice and naan. Butter chicken and dhaal were particularly good. Good, friendly service although we felt a bit rushed at the end. Also relatively affordable for the good variety and amount of courses on the offshore week menu.

Our first time eating at 8848, but definitely won't be the last. Excellent food, service and surroundings. Thankyou to you all at 8848.

This was my second visit to Aberdeen and to this restaurant. I was really disappointed this time as the food tastes and quality is degraded from the last time. I rate it 0/5 to the veg Momo's, the chutney was also not authentic.

Had the butter chicken.....lacked butter....lacked tomato flavour all I could taste was coconut which is not an ingredient of BUTTER CHICKEN 😩

Good Indian restaurant. We tried below items 1. Majestic Chicken in starters is like malai tikka - It was bland and with less salt (green and red chutney was also flavour less) 2. Lasoon Chicken Tikka - Very Spicy and delicious. This dish comes with rice but do order Naan to enjoy the gravy The bill was around £33

Wir als Familie waren begeistert von der Indischen Küche. Leider sind wir vor vielen Jahren mal sehr enttäuscht worden und haben es jahrelang vermieden wieder Indisch zu Essen. Dazu mussten wir halt erst nach Schottland reisen um so lecker zu Essen. Gern wieder und Daumen hoch.

Food was wonderful, and service was both impeccable and friendly. The blue velvet seats add a fun touch, as well! And we were persuaded to try Indian whisky and wine, and were pleasantly surprised!!

Very comfortable dining experience. We would definitely go back to try more options on the menu. A pleasant surprise in Aberdeen.

Lovely surroundings and ambiance, very friendly staff and great food. Great pickle tray. We eat Indian food every week and this takes some beating!

Food was fine but nothing special, expected better for the price. One of the dishes we ordered came with a side of veg that consisted of one broccoli floret and one cauliflower floret. It looked quite sad. Delivery person would not come into the building for some reason which was a bit strange so I had to meet them outside.

Decided to try some Indian food for the first time. I am certainly impressed. And the staff is so friendly. Kudos!

First visit here, can't fault it, menu and meals spot on as with service. If I find myself in Aberdeen again wanting a curry, this will be my choice. And I did, after my first visit last year, just had to visit again. As per my first visit, can't fault this restaurant, service, food and price excellent.

Lovely food, fantastic service! We went as a group for my friends birthday. We were seated in a separate upstairs area, which was perfect as we had some kids with us. The food was lovely both meat dishes and vegetarian and the service was amazing. The server really went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect.

Fabulous Indian food! And excellent friendly service. Only two minor suggestions:- 1) The main dish was delivered a little too quickly, which made me feel like I had to rush my appetizer a little. 2) For me, the lighting was a little too bright. But I appreciate that this might not be an issue for others. Overall impression was great. I would easily recommend this restaurant to others.

The staff was very welcoming, funny and hands-on. Because of our colleaugues Birthday we all got a complimentary liqueur. The food was great en nicely served.

First time visiting aberdeen from glasgow and decided to try 8848, and it did not disappoint, popped in despite not booking a table, got an excellent welcome.Very delicious Nepali cuisine. Very well prepared and served. The staff were very friendly and the venue was lovey. Really enjoyed the meal and hospitality. I’d recommend this restaurant to everyone in Aberdeen.

The staff where friendly and the restaurant was nice but the food was odd! the Tikka was very sweet tasting and the chicken was chewy but the Rogan Josh was nice, the chips where bog standard. The price was high.. And £4.95 service charge is added on without asking, also a charity charge was also added without my concent.. Overall won't be returning.

The food taste good, but a portion is really small There’s a set cost 25@head however, you can see that four of us just shared a small plate of dishes À la cart is much better, I guess

Really great food, ample portions,even enough to take some home, & good service. Nice atmosphere & decor. My only concern was access up many steep stairs to toilet as no disabled facilities which was disappointing.

Don't get me wrong, the overall evening was really good from the service of the staff to the food itself. The big disgruntlement I have is when we got the bill as there were multiple issues with it. 1 - I really don't agree with anywhere who adds a 10% service charge automatically to the bill. We are not in the US and we didn't even have a large group which merited that sort of charge. 2 - An extra rice was added to our bill which we never ordered, had to flag down a staff member to remove it from our total. 3 - We were asked at the start of the meal if we would like poppadoms for the table. Extra £6 added to the bill, was not made clear we would be charged for this as most restaurants I've been to have them as complimentary. 4 - Additional charge for a 'charity donation', I usually donate to charity but this just seems sketchy - give the option or have some sort of collection tin? Like I said the food was really good, but this just left a sour end to the evening.

I have only been there once, and I am not an Indian food expert, so cannot compare it properly. The starter is this flatbread (?) with 4 chutneys (?). Tasted the same as ik had in the few other Indian restaurants i have been. I took the chef signature lamb shack. Now i don't know how lamb meat should be, but i read on the internet shack means slow cooked, kind of pulled pork. Well this meat was not soft at all, but tough, hard to get off the bone, much fat etc and bone, not much meat. The sauce/curry with it tasted good, but not very special. But again, i can not compare it much (except when i cook Hello Fresh) I would not choose this dish again.

Took my wife and son here for their first visit (my second) on a Christmas day in town. We all had a terrific meal. The food was excellent and so was the service. We even got a wave from the chef through the window next to us that gives a view of the kitchen! My wife wasn't keen on the last 2 Indian restaurants we tried previously but she loved 8848.I reckon it's our new favourite. Will be back soon! 😀👍

The food was pretty good (really tasty), and the staff were friendly and tried to provide the best service. Had a nice selection of organic tea. Lovely place!

I ordered a delivery so didn't experience service or the atmosphere. It was like a game of buckaroo in my mouth. Continuously providing a hit of taste endorphins. With every mouthful I was taking I was assured that I hadn't tasted anything as good previously and the high I got in anticipation of the end result just reassuring. The taste, texture and smells coming from the food were delicious, the rice was perfect and the colours were vibrant. Excellent choice

Was recommended to by a friend and took my partner and his parents there. I have never had an Indian so good, and his parents who have been to India on multiple occasions said the food was exactly like it was over there. will 100-percent be back and extremely highly recommend. the only downside was albeit the food was extremely fresh it was a while to wait for it as it was being prepared at that time.

Food was lovely, service was friendly but very slow and not accurate. Curry dropped down one of the guests jackets and no attempt to pay for cleaning or even a drink on the house. Good to see it busy.

We had an amazing evening at 8848 the other night. Incredibly friendly and attentive staff, amazing food (I had the coconut rice & king prawns dish, and some lentil dahls and naans as sides to share - delicious), great decoration and atmosphere all together. Definitely recommend!

A friendly atmosphere and fresh good quality food.

Very nice food, the staff were very friendly and the interior decor was nice. You wouldn’t think from the exterior of the restaurant but one of the nicest curries I’ve had. The rice tasted fresh and the curry not greasy at all. Naan was crispy, and I normally like it fluffy but not a big deal. The waiter was really talented, being able to carry all of our plates in one go in his arms. Pricy, but definitely recommend. Well done 8848!

5 star service. Beautiful food. Friendly staff

A party of 4 booked for a late lunch (3:00pm). Arranged to change to 2:00pm, this was achieved with no problem. We were offered drinks on seating and they arrived promptly. The restaurant was quiet, with plenty staff. Service was helpful and pleasant. The meals chosen starters and main courses were enjoyed by all in our party. The rating is based on the quality of the meals we had (their version of Butter Chicken is a luxurious indulgence) and the relaxed, but helpful and friendly service. I would definately revisit this restaurant.
