88 Cantonese in Highland

Used to be excellent takeaway but its gone down hill rapidly again. We had two portions of salt and chilli chicken it was more like two portions of batter.

Ordered some food from there and it took 2 hours to arrive. I'd ordered salt and chilli chips so naturally I expected there to be salt and chilli on them but I recieved chips with some sort of sweet sauce. I do like sweet stuff but not on chips and that was foul. I have given a 2 simply because their pork balls were tasty, luckily or I wouldn't of eaten that night.

Took 3hrs to be delivered with several phone calls and it’s still not here. Person on the phone was rude and said 5 orders came in after mine that had to be done first, also said they were too busy to let me know it was going to be late! Twice told it was being cooked and it would be there within 10 mins but it never came. Definitely better takeaways to go to in the area

First they got the food wrong then wanted us to pay £2 delivery for new one. Quality was bad, dry chicken, been on and off the toilet all day after

This place seems to be hit or miss with me getting all their misses. I know a lot of people that recommend this Chinese however every time I have tried it I have had a terrible meal. I find the food really greasy and the chicken is always the worst. Even their spicy chips are not great and these are one of the easiest things to do. This is not off one experience this is off multiple as I have been told they are good so I’ll try them again, more fool me. I will not be going back to this one again as have had to many bad meals.

Great food at a reasonable price and excellent fast service. Our fave chinese in highlands. Recommended.

Have visited the 88 several times over the last couple of years. the food is always very fresh and tasty. Never had a problem with anything we have ordered. The prices are very reasonable compared to other Chinese restaurants.

Myself and my family have been going here for 3 years and we recommended this was the best Chinese but after getting our order tonight we won’t be back salad was brown and not edible and the curry had no flavour to it onions weren’t peeled properly and the half and half was mainly fried rice very disappointed and won’t be using this place again

Good quality Chinese food, reasonably priced and not too long to wait. Not much choice for takeaways in Alness but this is one of the better options.

Best take away Chinese in the area by far. Special chips r to die for but only if you like garlic. Excellent selection and very fast service.

The mandarin chicken was very nice indeed, the prices are fantastic (compared to back home), very very little charged if you wanted rice or chips as a side dish, the rest of the meal was cooked quickly and the place was very clean, definably worth a third visit.

The best Chinese takeaway restaurant I have come across. Very fast, very reasonably -priced and above all superb-tasting food. I enjoyed duck in orange sauce, boiled rice and a portion of mushrooms and gravy.There was easily enough for 2 people. Another time I had barbecued spare ribs and chips to die for. Next time I'm going for the sirloin steak (only £9 including chips!). Oh and the service was helpful, friendly and polite.

Thought it must be o.k because people were going in. But it isn't the cleanest shop,still we ordered. When we got it home and started to eat,the sweet and sour chicken was not nice. The meat had an usual texture and the sauce was like wallpaper paste dyed red.

Looking for Chinese in the Alness area? It's a a no brainer, you can't look past 88. We've always had a really fast service and delivery of freshly cooked, hot, delicious food, whether it's sides or mains!

Meal for 2 - plus extras (that I cannot resist). All very good - delivery within stated 20 mins - no complaints - good food, very tasty - will re-visit :)

Siempre estaba ocupado, pero dios sabe por qué. La comida siempre nadando en grasa, recocido y muy caro, Font de la casa es usualmente un 15 años, que no pudo dar un monos. Nunca de buena calidad de pollo. Los pedidos son con frecuencia equivocada. Por desgracia no hay mucho mejores ofertas en Alness intentar tomar la molestia de ir a la Tailandesa en Dingwall y su paladar le encanta!

Así disfrutamos de este para llevar fresco y rápido, limpio y el personal era muy cordial, aunque todavía muy caliente

Always great food and service from my local Chinese. I love the pork curry, fried rice. We had chicken parcels for the first time and they were beautiful really tasty. Homemade onion rings are good too. Boy that answers the phone is always quick and precise, reads your order back to you and gives you a price and a time for pickup or delivery straight away. Very good service.

Lovely food cooked with fresh ingredients (I think). Very quickly delivered and good varied menu. Clean establishment and friendly staff.

This is the better of the two Chinese take-aways in the village. It is a large village that has several take-aways.

My other half love the special curry ... Char Sui foo Yung was delicious and I found this place a lot less greasy and "dirty" tasting than our usual chinese takeaway .. Which we normally regret eating afterwards. It's worth waiting the extra time for delivery and ordering from Alness (I live in next town)

Good size tasty portions served up very quickly. Usual long list of dishes but in common with most Chinese takeaways not much difference between, chicken, pork beef or prawn dishes just the "meat" changes but the sauces are much the same.Overall very tasty so no real complaints.

O lugar é simples, mas não deixa a desejar, comidas temperadas com um tempero equilibrado e com sal moderado, muito gostoso, atendimento muito bom e organização do local dez, acesso fácil e preços razoáveis.

I live in Invergordon where there are 2 Chinese take aways but we always order from 88 because their food is so tastey. I've never had anything I didn't like from it. They have the best prawn crackers and the best chips and gravy. We always get both of them with every order.Even although we live 4 miles away and get our order delivered by them it usually takes between 15 and 25 minutes to arrive and its always piping hot.Best Chinese in the area in my opinion.

Its been a couple of years since my last visit and things have went downhill. Firstly the place needs a clean especially there windows. Secondly it looks like they have a new chef, he's not as good as the previous ie orange sauce on a lemon chicken. The menu looks the same as its always been apart from the prices which have increased a lot. It feels like the place is in decline. I will not be back

I am not usually a fan of chinese usually but had a friend visiting and they wanted chinese so decided to give it a go. Sevice was quick and efficient. I was very impressed with the pork dish i had. There was lots of meat in the dish too and more than plenty for a meal. I would go back as it was very tasty and good value.

Went on Friday got set meal for 4 and an extra chic chow faultless on both times I've been here. The quality is high. Love this place I'm travelling from Dornoch guys Alness has the best Chinese in the highlands.

Having moved from Tain (which has an excellent Chinese takeaway) nearly 8 years ago, I was pleasantly surprised when this place opened up on Alness High Street. A very fast and reliable take-away service; I have never waited more than 20 mins from ordering, and have yet to find an error in an order.Despite a never-ending conveyer belt of front desk staff, the food quality has always remained high. The Chow Mein is a particular favourite with the kids, and if you ask they are happy to alter it however you like; extra spicy, curry sauce, no veg, breast of chicken etc etc.My personal favourite is the Kon Sui which is rich and tasty, and made as spicy as you want it.Final mention has to be made of the fantastic prawn crackers, which are always perfect; thick. dry and crispy. My son calls them "moons" and we can't order from the 88 without them!

I can't believe I'm the first person to review 88 got a set meal for 3 amazed at the value for £303portions of special fried rice 4 mains chic curry sweet n sour chic king prawn dish black bean chic 3 starters each comprising of a rib chic wing s roll sesame toast.Prawn crackers too. This was more than enough for four ppl.It tasted delightful which was a bonus. Polite and helpful local guy serving great snake bite piercings if yr reading. Quick service who could ask for more. Worth the trip from Dornoch.
