The location and ambience were good and the service was very good. However, the food was really disappointing - nicely presented but simply not very nice.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at 3 South Place with my daughter, and let me tell you, it was an amazing breakfast experience in the heart of central London. I cannot fault both the food or service. The most delicious omelette is being made here! I would recommend everybody to come and try 3 South Place for breakfast for a very memorable dining experience.

Although the breakfast (full English) was superb as always. The service wasn’t perfect. I asked for milk with my americano which never came (even after asking twice!) I also asked for an extra round of toast to share with my client which again never arrived. Attention to detail needed, especially bearing in mind the price.

I really love this place for breakfast, good service, lovely food and a nice atmosphere - would really recommend for either a business or social breakfast.

Every meal was delicious, clean & courteous staff; loved the lighting on the wall and relaxed ambiance. Dinner , lunch and breakfast were nicely presented, were delicious and the service was superb. BTW: the vegan ice cream that was served with fig tart was so delicious that I did not know it was dairy free. A big thanks to all staff and Manegment team.

The food was very disappointing - the lamb I had was extremely salty, including the sauce. I didn’t make a big deal out of it as we were celebrating a friends birthday and I didn’t want to spoil the vibe. The lamb itself wasn’t great quality (lots of fat). The burger was just ok. The bill we paid was too much for the quality - if we had known the price didn’t justify the quality we wouldn’t have come. The service was good though, the waiters were on hand. The place was very quiet with just a couple of tables taken. We did not mind that.

Great atmosphere and service, I love going here for drinks. This time we ordered 2 espresso martinis and they had no problem in making one of the drinks decaffeinated and the other without sugar as requested.

Booking for two for business type lunch. Nice warm greeting and seated promptly. All staff are so pleasant but not over the top. Had two small dishes rather than starters and two mains. All food was fresh and tasty, well presented. Would recommend and will no doubt use again

Staff need some additional training. Guest should not be referred to as ‘guys’. Dishes should be served to the guest not across other guests. When chasing / following on a drinks order one should not feel that one is being told off for asking.

Popped in for lunch with a friend near the office, the vegan burger was huge and really tasty and the sundae was fab! 🍔🍨

It was fine, I had a cob salad which was a little disappointing as it all just came in sections toms in one bit, sliced avacado all together on the side, chicken all together in a pile and sauce came separately on the side - might just be personal taste but I prefer my salad mixed and sauce throughout. Also made it hard to eat as wasn't much room in the bowl so trying to mix it yourself and get the sauce through the layers was just a task I'd rather do without when buying my lunch. Generally okay, nothing really to complain about just Good.

Service and quality of food was great however £44 for a 200gm steak in what is essentially a hotel restaurant is a little excessive. Also disappointed that they’ve stopped doing Sunday lunch which have experienced in the past and was exceptional and great value.

We waited 30 minutes for a drink. The mushroom parfait was not set and the hollandaise sauce was cold. We were given a free drink but the quality of the food and service was not great and incredibly expensive for what it was!

Fab decor, great menu choice and attentive staff.

Staff were very pleasant but there were lots of them and they didn’t seem to communicate with each other. We were asked by 3 different staff if we’d like to order drinks. We ordered 3 mains, mine was given to me after 15 mins no sign of the other 2. When questioned the waitress told me mine was a starter? It was huge! and that’s why they didn’t bring out the other meals. So all a bit confusing, maybe it was a staff training day. Food was lovely, decor really nice, staff were very friendly

There are simply not enough staff. Two coffee orders too over 15 minutes to arrive. My guest’s breakfast took half an hour. My breakfast had not arrived after an hour so I had to give up. No breakfast and the bill had a 15% service charge. A real shame as I work close by and have been many times before, but the service has been getting worse over recent months and this was the final straw.

Went for breakfast for a work meeting and was very satisfactory. Would happily visit again.

Our waitress was so lovely and sweet and really helpful. The new menu is great, I was spoilt for choice!

Very expensive for the quality of food you get

More than 5 different dishes were unavailable... (bone marrow, Sirloin, anything with shrimp/prawns) Port was served in a scotch glass (maybe 8th of an inch on the bottom of the glass. Waiter never entered my dessert then when I reminded him, he simply said kitchen was closed. We had 3 different bottles of wine simply because they didn't have 2 of anything... Neat Grey Goose martini required two attempts... Server asked if my friend wanted alcohol in his Mojito. #smh The group I was with made for a great time despite the horrible service and so many things being unavailable.

Located on the ground floor of the South Place Hotel, this place is a nod to the historic, traditional old chop houses of London. The menu offers some excellent cuts of meat but at rather top end pricing- £42 for an aged ribeye, served only with watercress- sides £5 extra, each. The humble cheeseburger is £27. It feels like a business lunch / expense account kind of place, which I am sure it serves very well. Service was very good.

Went in for a few fries and a dessert and had the upmost kindest service from staff!! The ambience was calming and the food was delightful. The manager Leui and our server Anica was amazing and the manager cleared the bill when there was absolutely no need!! Would absolutely go again!

Very disappointing, whilst shown to our table on arrival, from then on service and attention was very poor, seemed like only one person allocated to waiting duties and lots of people chatting behind the bar. We had to attract kitchen staff for attention to take food and drinks order. When drinks brought to the table these were incorrect and when food served, part of the order was missed. For the high price and restaurant location, didn't live up to expectations as described on the web-site. The restaurant wasn't busy so not sure how they would cope if it was.

I have been here twice before and had an amazing meal. Today I reserved for four work colleagues and it was horrendous. The food was poor quality and tasteless, there was no table service to check on us and therefore we all had only one drink and were never offered another. I had to send my meal back as it was completely over cooked- this was not at all the presentation or offering I have gotten in the past. Not even close to being worth the price- I would have been happier eating at McDonald’s. So disappointing.

Staying at the South Place, which I have always been and remain very happy with as a hotel, but tried the bar / restaurant and was quite disappointed. £40+ for an acceptable Caesar salad with 3 shrimp and a glass of wine with no service - not reasonable to me. Granted there did seem to be some big parties earlier in the night, so understandable if staff were under pressure, etc. But personally I don’t think I will be back anytime soon.

Nice food here - we shared a Tomahawk steak which was very nice. Few more speciality steaks would have been nice and a little more variety on the wine list. Service was a little average and it's attached to a hotel so the atmosphere suffered a little for that. Decor and layout very nice though

We visited on a Sunday so had the pleasure of dining from the roast menu. The ambience was lovely. The music was low enough to allow for conversation. Food was lovely and the chef even gave us extra parsnips. We would definitely visit again.

On Saturday 22nd October it was my birthday. I’ve celebrated it at South Place Chop House and it was an amazing experience! Big thank you to Maurizo and Sarah; they really ensured that my friends and I had a really great time. We will be back for sure! Izabella :)

Thankyou for a wonderful meal. I asked for the gravy to be on the side, however there was a little mix up on the kitchen, so they changed it with a small delay. The food was incredible, a great offer of £35 for 2 courses. The beef was amazing, the desert was equally delicious. I ordered a large Malbec which was scrumptious. There’s also live music from 12.30-2.30, the young lady had a beautiful voice and played guitar. We will be back, slightly earlier so that we can enjoy the music too.

The food was really good and the service was excellent! The restaurant was quick to adjust to our needs; We originally booked for 8 people but a total of 15 people turned up at the brunch!! The Restaurant manager Surim and Sarah, one of the waitresses, were extremely patient and quick to merge tables, provide cutlery and take orders. Everyone was really happy about the service and the food. We will definitely come to Chophouse again in the future.

I am embarrassed for them, it is difficult to start making the list of the things that are wrong in this place. First of all, being a steak-house the meat was really nothing special and quite hard. For 227gr sirloin, that you can find probably better quality in any M&S or Tesco, the cost is an appalling 38£ and comes without any sauce and sides apart few leaves of watercress without any condiment on them. When asked for some dressing for the salad, they said they do not have olive oil, but only rapeseed, almost incredible. Bread 5£ and dessert 9£. they even told me you cannot have a scoop of vanilla with a scoop of mango as they make difference between sorbet and ice cream, unbelievable. I don't know who is the target for this place but I will never come back again.

Not a great experience starting with the fact that the person on the desk didn't know where there front door to the hotel was to allow us access with a pram (!), the revolving doors were not big enough to enter directly to the restaurant. After that we sat down and ordered, the side of Brussels sprouts came twice, very wet and lots of water at bottom of dish. Not what we were expecting as they were meant to come with lardons which were missing. Pointed this out and a replacement bowl of shhy sprouts with tiny afterthought lardons sprinkled across the boiled vegetables (when you have larfoms you expect sprouts to be roasted ?). Unfortunately my partner had 'poured' the sprouts and sprouty water across his main course diluting the already 'wet' meal. I asked for chips instead of mashed potato with the Chicken Supreme that we both had - it came with French fries thrown unappetisingly across the plate and the sauce for the chicken supreme in a separate bowl - the wrong way round I think but I'm not the chef! Altogether a very disappointing meal given the prices on the a la carte menu. Would not recommend, there are better places to eat in a more comfortable environment.

When we visited, the restaurant was absolutely packed. There seemed to be 2 trainees and 1 waiter, Slavzizio. This caused us to wait a while to order drinks. Our wait Slavzizio did his best to juggle as many customers as possible. Other than that the food was nice, nothing amazing. The music was good but really loud so most of the table couldn’t actually hear each other. Also noticed that the 2 maître d at the front desk seemed unwilling to help and came across as rude to the other waiters and trainees

very relaxing Sunday lunch by myself as I'm here on business. My server, Jakir, was perfect.....took care of me whenever i needed anything, but left me to just relax and enjoy my food and reading. Probably the best burata I've ever had, and the chicken roast was so plentiful I could hardly finish half of it.

We came to the restaurant Saturday night, and it was so lovely! 5* service with 5* food! Food came quickly and tasted devine! We had 3 courses and the chocolate ganache for dessert was just incredible 🤩 The manager and head waiter were so efficient, polite and couldn’t do enough for us. Credit to all front of house and kitchen staff we had an amazing night! We’ll definitely be back again! Thank you so much.

We had a dinner here on one of the nights that we were staying at the hotel. The staff were very friendly; we were served by Maurizio who was attentive, and the food was really tasty. I had the vegan pasta which was delicious and very filling. It wasn't very busy as we booked quite early for dinner (around 6pm on the Friday) so it was really fast service too which is great!

Maurizio was fabulous!! Food and drink on point!! The bottomless brunch totally hit the mark! We had a fabulous afternoon for a belated birthday. Highly recommended.

Nice restaurant for a set meal. Octopus starter was lovely. Pork chop was a bit bland even though it was a nice cut of meat. Served with apple sauce which was overly sweet. Fries were nice Desert was a nice chocolate ganache with brownie; good size portion and filling.

Absolutely gorgeous restaurant with a wonderful menu which consisted of exactly what we were craving - perfect fit after a long day of travel! Hearty and healthy meal offering, we shared a pork chop (with applesauce) and the rump pave (with chimicurri), heirloom tomatoes, wilted spinach, fries (and mayo of course)! To our delight, the incredible Maurizio provided us with an absolutely delicious red wine to pair with this meal as the one we had selected was not available. This was no disappointment as he had found a better match AND it was less expensive than our original selection. What a winner!

We really enjoyed our meal, the sides and sauces were delicious. Our server Maurizio was excellent and had dreamy blue eyes you could get lost in like a lagoon. I would recommend.

We booked via opentable with the evening standard menu and when we arrived we were told we were too early for the kitchen although that was our booking slot as offered on the Opentable app. Within 15 mins the waiter came back to take our order so the waitress simply didn’t need to make a fuss about the time and could have killed 15 mins with initial drinks order and issuing the menu to us. The waiter maurizio was great and looked after us throughout the evening but the lady who seemed to be running the show was less than hospitable. After the initial telling off for being too early, she then told us that because we were ordering from the Evening Standard menu we couldn’t sit outside. There was no one else in the whole restaurant. After our included glass of rose, we asked for a £30 bottle of Rose from the wine list. The lady waitress came over saying the rose we wanted was £50 and started to open it. When challenged the bottle we actually asked for arrived and was offered free, mainly because of our dissatisfaction with the experience so far. Maurizio our waiter was a complete gentleman and looked after us impeccably. The overall experience was let down by the lady manager. There was no one else in the restaurant, so should they not have been looking after the customers they did have?!? Such a shame as the food was tasty. The experience is a stark contrast to the Michelin star restaurant upstairs!

I had nothing to complain about in this establishment. The food is very good and the service extremely attentive and polite. I had a pleasant business meeting. The caramel toffee desert is worth the 900+ calories. Just share it!

We had a lovely anniversary meal and the service from Maurizio in particular was great! Very attentive throughout the entire meal and served with a smile- made the evening relaxing and lovely! Food was also delicious!

The restaurant staff were extremely good and customer focused with a special mention to my waiter. His name is Jabir and excelled in his role and made the dining experience even more special. An excellent chap.

Lilla provided us with great service. We (myself, husband and baby) were well attended to and the food was tasty and had beautiful presentation. Lilla was a wonderful server and ensured that we were well taken care of. Recommend :)
