Abbiamo approfittato di questo ristorante durante il nostro soggiorno presso l‘Hotel. Il servizio è stato veloce e gradevole. Il ragazzo che prendeva le ordinazioni, Ayman, é stato gentilissimo e super disponibile!! Assolutamente top in quello che fa, meriterebbe sicuramente una posizione più alta!! Un po’ meno professionale il suo collega (penso fosse il supervisor/manager) che ci ha servito l’acqua mentre guardava e parlava con altra gente seduta in un altro tavolo non considerandoci minimamente. Per il resto ambiente tranquillo e pietanze buone.

Arrived late but told could have a table. Told to sit down, they had one man on serving food, bar the lot. Had to ask if we can order, offered drinks first only. Waiter was over worked and rude. Been sat here for an hour now and still no food. Avoid

We decided to eat in the hotel on the first night. I ordered spaghetti and meatballs, my wive and daughter shared a pizza. Service was reasonable but my meatballs were only tepid and didn't look like they were cooked throughout. We informed the waiter who promptly apologized and took the dish back to the kitchen. A replacement was delivered within 5 minutes, the meatballs were cooked properly. The waiter offered a free drink but I declined saying that it is OK. The pizza was nice and the chps were very tasty too.

I was really disappointed by my dinner at 120 Central Brasserie. The restaurant itself is quite soulless and dated but I chose to eat there as I was staying in the hotel and the menu looked varied. Unfortunately, none of the food was good. To start, I had the prawn cocktail. The prawns seemed to be freshly defrosted and the whole thing was drowned in sauce. There was no seasoning whatsoever, not even a crack of black pepper or a pinch of paprika. My main was a chicken and mushroom pie (which was fine), mashed potato (had the texture of Smash) and seasonal vegetables (frozen mixed veg, nothing seasonal there). Again, there was no seasoning. The service was quite poor. For example, when my main came I asked for a glass of water. It never came. I also spent a considerable amount of time waiting for someone to ask if my meal was okay and to offer me the dessert menu. The restaurant wasn't particularly busy but I had been seated in a corner and presumably forgotten about. Overall, it was quite a sad meal - the food was bland, service was slow and the atmosphere left a lot to be desired.

I ate here whilst staying at the Thistle Hotel. It is a very nice modern setting. I chose the set price menu - 3 courses for £19.50. Although a limited choice I managed to find something I liked. Service was good and overall I thought it was good value.

Staying at this hotel on my own so wanted to eat in hotel restaurant. I need to avoid gluten - chef saying I can only have plain grilled food, no sauce and not prepared to make any sauce or even offer tartare sauce with salmon. Was told I couldn't even have plain potatoes! Really think they need to learn about special diets - potatoes do not contain gluten and a homemade lemon/butter sauce would surely be within the realms of possibility? Very disappointing.

I don't know regarding the rooms this hotel has to offer. But the restaurant was dirty, tables had food on them even after it was cleaned. The staff never gave eye contact so they could avoid serving us. The meal was overpriced and tasted terrible. Never again

il est 20h00, nous sommes mis en attente 20 minutes pour avoir une table alors que le resto est quasi vide. Heureusement le serveur au bar est sympathique! installés à table, on nous annonce qu'il manque des plats( pas d'entrée, pas de pizza, pas de pâte bolognaise...), pas de menu enfant sur la carte, je commande pour mon fils un plat de pâte qui se révèle trop épicé pour lui, mon mari a un hamburger sans sauce ni salade... Je suis la seule à m'en sortir bien avec une tourte à la viande délicieuse et un accompagnement de légume correcte. Le temps d'attente énorme nous a coupé l'appétit pour un dessert.

The dinner menu we were offered was ok and the quality ok too , though not up to the quality I am used to living in Norfolk. Pricing was probably typical for London but high compared to my home Norfolk pricing. The breakfast buffet was outstanding however.

El personal parecía descontenta y parecía que el esfuerzo había sido. Fue una cena bastante basura de navidad, no volveremos.

I used to come here regularly and as my client's office has moved to Farringdon I'll be coming more often again. There are much better hotels available in London but the Thistle really offers value for money.

We stopped into the 120 attached to our hotel (Thistle City Barbican) 4 evenings in a row after full day of playing tourist on our first trip to London. The first evening we sat in the dining hall, the other evenings we ordered from the dinner menu, but relaxed in comfy chairs in the bar area. Each night the bartender (we met 2) and wait staff were attentive to just the right degree. The menu was not expected but we enjoyed something different each evening. We found the food delicious--entrees and appetizers. Presentation on plate was visually appealing. Just glad for the convenience, we expected just average service and food. We were delighted expectations were exceeded.

Hotel offers a Pre-theatre supper deal, but we chose from the a la carte and were very happy with our choices - spaghetti carbonara and tiger prawn linguine were both excellent accompanied by a good value Chenin Blanc.A ten minute taxi tide to the theatre saw us in plenty of time for curtain up.

Menu OK for a hotel and food reasonable too, if at hotel prices, perhaps less so when you consider the 12.5% added for service that is added by default.Lots of staff, but the place is somewhat let down by the fact they don't work well as a team. We couldn't just take a seat in the near empty restaurant as the staff member at the desk was busy taking a room service order. Can't place an order for food with one as can only be done by another. Cutlery repeatedly missing from the table and had to be brought as an afterthought. Soup with table spoons. Nothing too bad, but not in keeping with the image or price level the are aiming at here.Food quality was better than I was expecting given the above, but nothing outstanding. Bread sampler was dry. Pate starter also lacked fresh bread. Salmon main was OK as were my colleagues' dishes. Dessert was best course in the menu.All in all - passable if you are staying in the hotel and looking for an easy option. If you are not a guest and have time to look around the area then there are better choices for lower cost.

"It's ok" sums it up. But if you go out to local restaurants you will get better. Firstly service is polite, friendly, but don't come across experienced. Atmosphere is just the collection of people dinning. Nothing is added, however there are enough people dinning for it to be ok. Food- I had prawn cocktail starter and steak for main. The starter was disappointing as I had expected more than four prawns! This made it very expensive for what you got. The main steak was ok, as long as average is where you are aiming. I went for medium, but it was on the well side- no pink to be seen. I swapped the chips for seasonal veg. In February this was carrots, courgettes and hard green beans- these are not seasonal in my garden. The veg were also drowning in oil and this would not be necessary if they were truly seasonal. The small glass of red at £6 was as expected. I would not say never, but not returning anytime soon.

The roast beef sandwich was the worst one ever!!! Instead of making it with regular mayonnaise. I got some combination of mayo with horseradish sauce. I could barely get it down with the soup. Then they shanghaied the gratuity plus a fee for the "privilege " to use there restaurant. very expensive and not very good at all!!!'

We were greeted fairly quickly by a friendly waitress, however when we were seated we weren't asked if we wanted anything to drink...not a problem usually, however the waitress dissapeared for about ten minutes. When she reappeared she took our order& we were soon greated with our drinks, the service was very slow considering there was only our table and two others in the restaurant. When our food arrived it was average. I had the sirloin steak and my partner had the half roast chicken, the food was luke warm and the peppercorn sauce was pretty cold, no one came to check if the food was okay throughout the meal, which if they had we would have sent the food back!!! We have stayed in various other Thistle hotels and have always found the food to be lovely. Very disappointing! :(

They automatically put 12.5% gratuitary onto the bill. (this happens all over London) You can ask to have it removed and leave your own tip if you wish or no tip if you aren't happy with the service.I object to restaurants taking for granted I will pay an extra 12.5% on top of the bill. Tips in the UK are not mandatory and sadly the 12.5% doesn't always go to the staff.

Arrived late on a Sunday evening and it's dark outside, thought would just eat in the hotel. The restaurant looked busy and thought that can't be too bad. Having stayed in a different Thistle hotel in London recently, i was extremely impressed with the food. I thought this is a Thistle as well, has to be about the same.... How wrong was I?!!!Went in and set myself down. Immediately there was a horrible smell in the air, as if someone was sick in the area before. I thought might just be me (motion sickness from a domestic flight). Ordered food, waited for almost an hour. Steak and ale pie with mash potatoes and fresh veg.... The gravy was runny like tea. The crust of the pie is so hard it couldn't be cut. The inside was barely warm. The mash potato had a mushy powdery taste to it, makes me wonder if it's one of them sachet mash one gets from the supermarket which u just add water in and stir. The vegetables were well overcooked, the baby carrots fell apart as soon as I put my fork to it. The asparagus looked yellow...I wanted to send it back but I couldn't get the attention of any staff! There were 1 or 2 matching about looking awfully stressed... At the end, I kept my face shut and just ate enough so that I wasn't hungry and went to my room (that's another story).I appreciate this is London, but your sister hotel Thistle Euston also in Central London costs the same and it's way better! Won't be back to eat at the restaurant and won't be back to this hotel I'm afraid.

I would normally opt for somewhere i know, somewhere rather than eat at a hotel and from a recommendation but seeing as it was late dark and raining outside I decided to chance this one.It was a great chance, It does look very inviting and having browsed the menu it had good meal options, being in the city and located in/at a hotel the price was of course going to be slightly more expensive but that's a given... The food was really nice and the staff were really nice too.I went for a simple option of the bacon cheese burger and I was not disappointed (pictures added, if you like that sort of thing)

I generally never at the Hotels' restaurants, but I made an exception because I arrived late in a very cold evening. I had a malay- singapore vegetarian dish, which was really tasty and well cooked. Also the dessert was good. As a matter of fact a good surprise for quality of food. A little bit expansive, but I kind of expected from an hotel restaurant.

For a business lunch we paid only 50% with a taste card and even then it seemed pricey for the quantity and quality of the food. The menu described things beautifully but when they arrived the dish do not reflect the description e.g crispy Parmesan crouton was missing from the French onion soup and sticky rice with the curry was over cooked easy cook long grain rice.Service friendly but not enough to make you go back

Impecable service, graet food, not bad prices for London. Good atmosphere. Only had main, but extremely happy to realise that on the menu the hotel had acknowledged that parmesan was not suitable for vegetarians as not one restaurant I have been to so far has! It said 'with vegetarian friendly parmesan style cheese shavings' so made me happy :)
